Double Exposure: Erotic Short Stories

Rate this book
Writers Jenna Citrus and Christian Pan join forces in DOUBLE EXPOSURE to share new erotic tales exploring fantasy, desire, sensuality, and more. This collection

SAVAGE - Two strangers meet at a party, and decide they need some privacy to fully express their animalistic tendencies for each other.

LOVE LETTERS FROM THE INTERNET - If you were to meet your favorite OnlyFans performer in real life, what would you do?

EAT THE RICH - A wealthy woman enjoys a very particular kind of listening to the secret fantasies of her chauffeur.

SHHH! - There are many ways to get rid of writer's block, but few are as enjoyable (and as risky) as a quickie at the library.

NERVOUS SPLENDOR - While working a film festival, a younger man happily "lends a hand" to an older woman.

AT THE MOVIES - During their date, will these two be able to keep their hands off of one another?

This collection of six erotic short stories by Jenna Citrus and Christian Pan contained a couple of bright spots but overall struggled to hold my interest.

The two strongest entries come at the end. "Nervous Splendor" and "At The Movies" cleverly intertwine, crossing paths in a satisfying way that ties together nicely.

"Shhh!", "Love Letters" and "Eat The Rich" have potential but don't quite hit the mark. The writing tends to over-describe at the expense of really conveying the characters' emotions and desires. I think the erotic elements could have landed with more impact if the focus was on evoking feelings and building tension rather than explaining every detail.

I found the characterization in "Savage" to be troubling. Instead of coming across as boldly savage as the title suggests, the main character felt unpleasant and offputting to me. The story lacked nuance, painting the conflict as entirely the fault of the second character in a way that I experienced as overly simplistic and one-dimensional. More introspection and moral complexity would have made for a more compelling narrative.

In the end, while this collection has glimmers of heat and creativity, the overall execution didn't quite come together for me. I'm grateful to have received an ARC for free and hope my candid feedback may be of use.

Very well written six short stories. Two good authors coming together to give us this enjoyable collection. Enjoyed both Nervous and SHHH, both have a reality to them. Each of these stories have characters to fit the need. This is a first time that I have reviewed for either of these authors and hope to follow them again. You can enjoy each of these stories by yourself or with your favorite person. Would recommend.
I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.
