Can she escape from her wicked master’s dominance, or is she condemned to perpetual slavery? Brace yourself for an exhilarating dark fantasy narrative in this 28,000-word novella, the first in the VAMPIRE IRIS series.
I admit to being new to this vampire thing. While my friends were reading Anne Rice, I was reading Tolstoy. But I sure learned a lot from this book. About the social dynamics of vampires, their presumed racial supremacy, their duties, the necessity of their predatory behavior, the efficacy of their powers and the forces that drive vampires to do what they do.
This is the story of the transformation of a pathetic, scrawny, ignorant, illiterate, sub-peasant of a girl raised in a cave on a diet of rats, into a vampire assassin, literally a blood-sucking goddess warrior. The transformation is so real, so visceral, I felt it in my bones. So will any other reader. This is brilliant writing and imaginative, riveting story telling. I’m hooked!
