Dinya's shoulders are strong but maybe not strong enough to grieve her father's death while fighting off well-meaning matchmakers and also trying to protect her family's farm from the greedy corporate landowners next door.

Caprine shifters, the Lee Brothers, have one aim--expand their holdings to gain access to the waters of the Blue River, at all costs. That is, until they fall for the beautiful girl next door.

Nikki Clarke is a poet and writer who’s always loved a good love story in books and on film. Her favorite on screen love declarations in no particular order are: Darius and Nina under the viaduct, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth in the field (Knightley and MacFadden version), and Dwayne and Whitley at the wedding. Nikki doesn’t mind a little weird (or raunch) mixed in with her romance and hopes to contribute to more happily ever afters of all shades and styles.

Least favorite of the series

The combination of Shai August and Nikki Clarke is not as good as you would predict. I was an August fan when I started the Rare & Unusual series, but Ms. August’s writing has deteriorated and I stopped reading her books. Nikki continues to be a go to author for me and it’s her touches that somewhat redeem this story.

Note: This will probably be fixed but the formatting of this ebook is horrible. It needs to be reformatted.

This was an absolute perfect story for this series and my favorite of the three for sure. The characters are fun, charming, and lovable. The story was well paced, a good blend of plot and romance, with the right touch of humor. These are two of my favorite authors and them working together is clearly magic!!

This started off okay and got progressively more interesting as it went along. I wish things were fleshed out a bit more. I love a good instalove story, but it only works when it’s believable and the chemistry and desires are built up properly. The big conflict also needed to be fleshed out more because as soon as they started connecting the dots, it was over and solved.

Also, I’m not sure if this was a publisher or Amazon/kindle problem, but the formatting of the e-book was bad, if not borderline unreadable. Hopefully that can be fixed because I was really close to dnf’ing because it was distracting (my need and interest to finish the series pushed me forward).
