When your dark past threatens your future and the love of your life, you have to fight. Hannah Did I plan to end up pregnant after a one-night stand? Absolutely not! But with my best friend Jake by my side, promising support for me and the little one, I'm unfazed by the whispers circulating in the village about his supposed dark past. I trust him wholeheartedly and know I can count on him, no doubt about it.
Jake Hannah is my everything. She's one of the few who welcomed me to Fellside, and becoming friends was easy. Rumours are rife in the village about me. They're not entirely true, but they're not entirely wrong either. I've left my past behind, and my future belongs to Nat and her little one. The fear of it all catching up with me lingers, but no matter what, I won't let anyone harm Hannah.
Author Dani Elias loves writing about British working-class hotties and the women who are their happily-ever-after. Her stories are short, sweet & steamy.
She lives in the South of England and has a great passion for travel, something that does appear in her books as well.

Dani Elias will now become an instabuy/instaread author. This is the 2nd book I get of hers, as an ARC, and it was another great read.
She writes compelling characters, and even with the tough stuff the books are easy to read. I couldn't stop reading it. It was honestly so good. Hannah and Jake are a great couple. And generally, friends to lovers isn't my favorite trope, but the way Dani Elias does it makes me think there might be something to this trope!
Her writing is honestly really great too. I am so grateful that I got to read this ARC! It was truly amazing.
Wow... I was not expecting my guess on what was going to happen to actually happen. Every time I read a book, I try to figure out what's happening, or what's going to happen. Nine times out of ten, my internal meter is off and I'm shocked as hell about the ending. But not so much so with this book. But even though I called how things were going to go down, I did not expect the emotions that Ms. Elias evoked from this scene.
I love the well-written characters, Ms. Elias' ability to evoke emotion, and that even though this is a novella, it has a clear beginning, middle and end to the story. If you're a fan of the Greenview Manor Tales, or even if you've never heard of them, pick up this book. It comes 4th in the series, but you can read it as a standalone if you're not sure you want to invest your time in the entire series. But, then you'll kick yourself in the bum because you realize that Ms. Elias has talent and you're going to head back to the beginning to read the rest of the series.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Happily Booked PR and author Dani Elias for this opportunity.
Wistful Whispers was an excellent friends to lovers story with a bit of suspense thrown in. Jack and Hannah have been best friends for almost a decade, he's been in love with her since the beginning but always thought she'd never feel the same. When she becomes pregnant from a one night stand, he steps up to help her. Hannah finally realizes her true feelings and they decide to jump into their relationship head first. When Jack's past comes and tries to disrupt their happy family, Jack does all her can to save Hannah and their baby.
Dani did it again. This is book 4 that I have read from her, and every time, she finds a way to connect the reader with the characters even in a novella. She finds a way to give your story. Get you invested and the story told. I loved it. I felt for Jake and Hannah (and the princess). He was the biggest golden retriever ever and had dealt with so much that it just broke my heart, but he was amazing. I want to read book 1 and 2 from Greenview Manor Tales because they never fail to be amazing and quick reads.
Such a lovely book! Though the beginning was tragic and heartbreaking. Hannah and Jake are so sweet together I love that they were besties and became lovers. I loved how Jake could love someone that isn’t his so completely. I was gutted when Jake’s past came to haunt him and Hannah. So much turmoil but they made it out. There were plenty of steamy scenes between these two and a nice hea.
I love Dani’s writing. She did a fabulous job creating this romance. I enjoyed that the MCs were in their 40s. It was a refreshing look at romance throughout life. I loved Hannah & her want of support & love, she was vulnerable & went for what she wanted in the end. Jake is the epitome of protection. Even as just her best friend, he was always looking out for her & caring if she was safe & provided for. The added level of the past coming back to bite him in the butt… I was glued to it!
I love how this series is quick reads but the amount of story you get has you on the edge and will have you finishing it in one sitting.
I was absolutely broken for Jake since the prologue and to see how his friendship with Hannah helped heal parts of him. This is a part of a series and can read as a standalone, Hannah is the sister of Oliver from book 3 Alluring Adventures and you do see him and Keeley quite a bit. Hannah and Jake have been strictly friends up until she finds out she is pregnant after a one night stand. As her best friend he wants to be there for her and after a scare he decides to stay with her temporarily to help ease her worries. This was absolutely the best thing that could have happened for them. It helps Hannah to see what has always been right in front of her and man he will have you melting with how he loves her. Of coarse the past comes to disrupt their moment and will have you shocked and waiting to see what happens next.
Excited to see who will be the next story of this series.

Wistful whispers is book four in the greenview manor series it can be read as a standalone but I would say read them in order. As they are interconnected. This time we get the beautiful story of Jake and Hannah.
It's a fast paced , super quick read that gives you all the feels, keeps you on your toes and most all on the edge of your seat. It's a crazy rollercoaster ride that's action packed with loads including drama, friendship, love, suspense and loads more.
Jake and Hannah are so cute together. Friends to lovers is always a good read.
And that's exactly what they are friends and have been for a while , but Jake's always been in love with her but never done anything about maybe incase she didn't feel the same way.
Hannah gets pregnant from a one night stand and Jake steps up to help her, Hannah ends up realising her true feelings for Jake and they give this relationship thing a go. But Jake's dark past comes back to haunt him and causes some trouble. What will happen to them? Grab the book and find out. You won't be disappointed at all, I wasn't. I can't wait for the next book highly recommend!!

Now... I will be the first to say that I am usually not one for an accidental pregnancy, but this Dani Elias did such an amazing job with this one. Everything fit together so perfectly and I really had no hangups. I loved how while it was a good part of the story that it didn't take over. The book was not entirely focused on just that one aspect as I feel often happens with this trope. In fact, I really think Elias did a wonderful job at balancing everything out with this story.
I was absolutely here for Hannah and Jake. They were amazing characters to get to meet and discover. I loved how seamlessly they fit together and how they were truly each other's person. One of my favorite things about them is just how strong their bond was and how once they decided to take that extra step in their relationship they were ready to fight for their future and happiness. That's just me talking about when they kept things clean and PG. Do not even get me started on when the heat was turned on. Woo wee. While the spice scenes were few they certainly did not lack quality.
Like I said, Elias did a wonderful job at balancing everything out with this story. Not to mention that it had a bit of everything. Friendship, family, risk, tension, spice, and love. It was quite a good read. Definitely recommend it!
This is the 4th novella in the greenview manor tales series which is kind of in the same world as her previous one with her previous characters popping in and out once in a while but you don’t need to read it cuz all of them stands alone.
This story follows Hannah who after a one night stand ends up pregnant. And Jake who’s dark past threatens to catch up with him.
Jake and Hannah have been friends since he moved to Fellside after something very bad happened to his family, now she’s all he has. When she tells him she’s pregnant he steps up to help her but along the way they finally see that they’ve been in love with each other since the beginning but when they finally realize it his past comes barreling back.
If there’s something I really enjoyed about Dani’s books is that the mc’s are normally over their 30’s which is kind of refreshing. This story is the perfect blend between romance and suspense and it’s surprising how much can happen in less than 200 pages. I absolutely adored how Jake stepped up as a father figure even though they were only friends, their relationship was incredibly cute! ✨
If you like these tropes you might want to check it out! 💙 novella (4th in the series) 💙 british small town 💙 friends to lovers 💙 mc’s in their 40’s 💙 mmc with a dark past 💙 pregnant fmc (single mom/one night stand) 💙 suspenseful

Thank you so much to Dani and Happily Booked PR for this arc!
We get to return to Fellside in this novella with Hannah and Jake. We even get glimpses of Oliver from Alluring Adventures who is Hannah’s brother. This is book four, but absolutely can be read as a standalone.
Hannah and Jake are best friends, She is the first person to befriend him when he moved to Fellside and tried to leave his past behind. Hannah doesn’t care about the rumors surrounding Jake, she knows who he is at his core. I love Dani’s writing, even in a short story she draws us in with her character development, and gives us a glimpse into this town and the characters that make it.
Hannah is pregnant from a one night stand and Jake steps up to support her. She has feeling for Jake, but is not sure it is reciprocated in the same way. Boy is she in for a pleasant surprise! Jake is all in for her and her child. When his past comes back to haunt him and threatens Hannah and her child, he is determined to do what he needs to to save them even if that means leaving. Dani kept me on the edge of my seat and even though the book is a novella and a quick read, there is no part of the story that felt rushed. The epilogue was the perfect bow to this wonderful suspenseful love story.
I read this book as an ARC. This was a novella style story about best friends Hannah and Jake. They have been friends since Jake moved to Fellside after dealing with the loss of his brother and mother. Hannah finds herself pregnant and Jake is fiercely protective of her and her baby. Theirs is a cute friendship always having each other’s backs. And Jake has had feelings for Hannah for a very long time only he’s never told her but now with Hannah finding herself pregnant and single they both start to scratch deeper on their feelings for one another. The romance plot of this story is combined with suspense as Jake has a past and that past is rearing its ugly head and threatening their happiness. I love books that combine romance with suspense and this one does just that. I have read several of Dani Elias’ books and they are always magic. You will love this sweet small village that sets as the backdrop to this story. And I absolutely love that these characters are in their 40s. Because love happens to everyone. And Jake has to be one of the sweetest golden retriever characters ever!
Wistful Whispers is book 4 in the Greenview Manor Tales series. One thing I love about Dani’s standalone series is that they don’t have to be read in any order, but it is probably better character development reading them in order. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything not having read the other books in the series.
If you are a happily ever after, best friends to lovers and novella loving reader then this book is for you! I’m a pretty slow reader, so this took me about two days but I’m sure you could read it in one day if you wanted to
We meet Hannah, in her early 40's, loving life and going out with friends, but when a one-night stand turns into a surprise pregnancy, Hannah doesn’t know what to do. She doesn’t have any way of communicating with her one-night, good thing her best friend Jake is there for her to help her with the little one and supporting her throughout the pregnancy.
Jake hadn’t always lived in Fellside, before he moved he had a totally different life in London. A life that cost him everything. Until he met Hannah, one of the few who welcomed him to Fellside. But the past has a way of coming out and when Jake’s past comes to life he will do anything to keep Hannah and the little one out of danger.
This novella is a quick, spicy read from Dani Elias. It’s the fourth installment in the series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. She draws you in with engaging characters from the beginning and you’re hooked until the end.
This is Hannah and Jake’s story. He’s trying to run from a dangerous past and start over. They meet when she is the only one that befriends him. They become best friends and even though Jake is attracted to Hannah, he stays in the friend zone because of his past.
Hannah becomes pregnant at 40 from a one-night stand with no way to get in touch with him. She’s embarrassed and unsure how friends and family will react and how she’ll face them. She’s shocked when Jake steps up and offers to take care of her and the baby. Jake stays with Hannah to ensure she’s safe until the baby comes. They both come to realize what’s in front of them the whole time and it’s sweet and steamy to witness. Jake’s past isn’t done with him, and it keeps you riveted waiting to see what will happen.
Overall, this is a fast paced, entertaining, quick read with mature characters you root for. Bonus, it includes an epilogue you will love.
Fun, short little sexy romp with a good spike of adrenaline at the end!
Plot: 4 📍 Spice: 2 ❤️🔥 Overall: 4⭐
Hannah and Jake get thrown into one another after Hannah discovers she’s gotten pregnant from a one-night stand. And as a single, 40y/o woman, it’s absolutely terrifying! (Terrifying for anyone at any age!)
Jake, Hannah’s best friend, steps up to be a friend and support system, but the hidden yet mutual feelings on both sides finally make their way to the surface in this short, but sensually spicy novella!
However, Jake had some tenuous connections to shady characters who try to slime their way back into his life. Even though he’s all the green flags you could ever ask for, Jake steps up big time to protect Hannah and the little nugget she’s carrying.
Despite a couple pregnancy-centric moments, where (if you’ve been pregnant) the logistics don’t quite line up, the story is a fun, short little sexy romp through this small town in the beautiful English country!
Thank you to Dani Elias & Happily Booked PR for the opportunity to read and review this book!
“How many people can say that they’ve fallen in love with their best friend and soulmate who would literally give their life to make sure you’re safe?”
As usual with Dani’s book, I didn’t even realize that I was turning Wistful Whispers’ pages before I was at the end of the book, even though I usually don’t read Suspense Romances. Even though some spicy scenes weren’t for me (but I don’t usually read pregnancy either), I loved both Jake and Hannah and got super involved in their story. I couldn’t stop reading, was afraid for them and their princess. All the characters –including the full cast of side characters– are very endearing, and the stakes aren’t emotional like I usually read but external (though Jake is super cute with Hannah and so devoted!), with a real plot involving them (and a very well written suspense). It was super refreshing to try this kind of romance, and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.
Thank you to the author for the ARC. My opinions are my own.

So this is probably my 4th or 5th review for a Dani Elias book, and just like the others it did not disappoint. And just like most of the others, I wish it were longer. I often find it hard to review novellas because everything happens so fast, but I love Ms. Elias’ books so here we are 🤪
Per usual, this is well written and wonderfully spicy with a good amount of “meat” on it’s bones given it’s a 90 minute read. Also, I most definitely did NOT cry at the end of chapter 14. I was obviously chopping onions while reading….at 11pm…in bed. 🫣
Anyway you should read this book. But it’s actually number 4 in a series set in the same area so you should also read the first 3 books too 😘
Hannah didn’t plan to end up pregnant after a one night stand, but with the help and support of her best friend Jake things are looking better. Jake moved to Fellside to get away from his past and start over, Hannah was one of the few who welcomed him. When his past comes back to haunt him and Hannah he will do everything he can to protect and fight for what they have.
I enjoyed the book, and the characters. The chemistry Hannah and Jake have is great, and I see how these two are meant for each other.
While I got some insight into Jake’s previous life before he came to live in Fellside, I would have liked to hear more about Hannah’s life and a bit more about their friendship.
Honestly, I am sucker for a good friends to lovers trope and this one did not disappoint.
This is a short novella that can read in one sitting. While this is book four in the Greenview Manor Tales it can be read as a standalone.
🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆 I am a sucker for a best friends to lovers story! I loved it! This was a beautiful small town romance, with some twists, suspense & heat! I devoured this short novella. Couldn’t put it down! This story was beautiful & so well written. It was truly thought out & so were the characters. Everything in this story fit right together & it just flowed!
The chemistry, the bond, the spice & the love between Jake & Hannah was perfect. I was so glad when they finally admitted their feelings for each other. It truly made the story! The part on the boat had me on the edge of my seat & I was rooting for Jake, Hannah & the baby! But Jake pulls thru & saves the day! I definitely recommend it if you love best friends to lovers!

Like all of Dani’s work this novella is going to bring you up with happiness… then who turned up the furnace ? 🥵 followed by suspense and some dark elements followed by a spicy, swoony happily ever after! ARC Review: 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice Level: 2🌶️🌶️ Release Date: January 24th Such a privilege to have read all of the novellas in this series, and book 4 is no exception. This Instalove, friends to lovers romance has such a build to the moment the FMC and the MMC finally admit their feelings for one another. It was so exciting to get to see Hannah’s story as I always wondered about her from Book 2. Jake is the perfect gold retriever MC I could ask for, especially with how protective he is of Hannah and her baby. This novella has some wonderful tension that had me on the edge of my seat. It was a little less spicy than the previous three in the series, but it was still pleasantly enjoyable. Because of the content, remember to check your trigger warnings before reading. Again, such an amazing novella. Thank you again for the ARC!
This is the second book I’ve read by Dani Elias and I am definitely a fan of the writing style and the stories.
This is a novella but it packs a punch. I really enjoyed that there was some suspense in the story. I devour romantic suspense so this was a great addition to the story.
I am not usually a fan of the accidental pregnancy but this trope was very well written in this novella. I love Jake and Hannah’s friendship turned relationship and how understanding and supportive Jake is. Their chemistry is truly off the charts.
I would have loved to read more of their story in a full length novel because I liked it so much. I am going to go back and read the other novellas in the series as well as novellas in the future.
Thank you so much to Dani Elias and Happily Booked PR for allowing me to be on Dani Elias’ review team and for the advance copy of this novella.
When your dark past threatens your future and the love of your life, you have to fight. Hannah end up pregnant after a one-night stand but her friend Jake was by her side, promising support for her and the little one. But Jake has a past lingering on him. He has left his past behind, and his future belongs to Nat and her little one. When your dark past threatens your future and the love of your life, you have to fight. Well I was not expecting the story to go like this. I keep shouting you can’t let anything happen to her. Jake is such a sweetheart and gives off golden retriever energy. He has gone thought so much but he stayed strong. it broke my heart. I love their bond and how he didn’t spend a second thinking and just did everything to help her. I love them them.I love the dedication too.

I always enjoy reading these quick novellas by Dani and this series just keeps getting better! my complaint is always that I wish they were longer! jake and hannah are fricking adorable together and I love how "all in" he was when Hannah was concerned about being able to take care of her baby after getting pregnant after a one night stand. I was screaming at jake though, upset at him, for trying to be a "bigger person" to keep Hannah and baby out of harm's way, but loved how they still banded together as a family to get through it. The suspense plot was a fun little aside to the overarching plot, but loved the HEA that these characters got.
Thank you to Dani and Happily Booked PR for the eARC.
I received an ARC of this story but all opinions are my own.
📖: 🌟🌟🌟.5/5 🥵: 🌶️.5/5
Wistful Whispers is the 4th novella in the Greenview Manor series. It follows Hannah and Jake, best friends for the last decade since Jake moved to Fellside to escape his dark past.
I found this story a little harder to get into than others by Dani! I felt that the first half of the story was a little rushed, I didn't really understand the connection between Jake and Hannah, as friends or more. I also felt they slipped straight into I Love Yous before they even kissed, and it was just too fast for me.
The second half was much more engaging. The suspense was high and I absolutely devoured the last 40% of the book! Dani writes action/suspense so well!
Overall, the story was not my favourite in the series, although I absolutely adored a man with a baby 😍
Hannah is in a vulnerable position, she finds herself pregnant from a one night stand. But she fortunate to have her best friend Jake by her side to support her in any way she needs. He has secretly loved Hannah for a while and knows his future is with her and the baby she carries. But he has secrets he's keeping from the past that may come back to haunt him. But he vows to protect Hannah no matter what. This book has a friends to lovers theme with forced proximity and suspense. I loved Jake's character, and the way he loved Hannah and the baby unconditionally even though he is not the biological father was beautiful. I really like Dani's writing style and the plot was great and kept you guessing what was coming next. If you're looking for your next book, I definitely recommend this one.
Following a one-night stand Hannah finds herself pregnant, but she’s definitely not alone. Her best friend’s Jake immediately steps up, supporting her and helping her through it. It’s not long before something more develops between them, but will the last come back to haunt them?
I am always on the look out for a new Dani Elias read. Her romances are short, sweet and steamy reads that are so easy to fall into. Jake and Hannah were so sweet together and I loved seeing their story unfold on the pages. The suspense in this book is enough to keep things interesting and I loved the elements it added to this otherwise sweet friends to lovers romance. If you are looking for a quick romance read with lots of feels, this book is worth picking up!
I really enjoyed both of these mc's. Hannah was sassy and cute even though she's 40. I love that she decides to keep her baby. She was so sweet and I also love that we got to see her and her mom heal their relationship.
Jake was literally so adorable and just about everything a woman would want. The way he stepped up for Hannah just as her best friend then stepped up even more to be a father. The way he protected Hannah and the baby was so beautiful.
It was fun to see Ols and Kelsey in this book and how they are doing!
I really enjoyed this novella! If you need a quick, sweet, suspense and spicy novella this one and this series is for you! Can't wait for the next and last book of this series!
As someone who grew up in the UK it was so nice to read a book based there! This was my first gang trope book and I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it but I really enjoyed it. I loved the fact that we got to see the drama at the beginning of the story and not just have it mentioned throughout like some other books I have read. Honestly from the car scene to the end I read it in one sitting a cried a lot. There was one scene towards the end that really hit me hard in the feels as I remember a similar experiance. The relationship between the main character's is so beautiful and it's so nice to see him choosing to put them before himself and choosing to be responsible. Get your tissues ready for this one!
