The Traitor's Trap

Rate this book
When only the traitor has answers, the Blade must first avoid his trap. The Queen’s Blade saga continues.

As Zaren seeks to learn what his former mentor planned, a series of strikes in the city force Zaren to take action.

Worse, he learns the truth of the queen’s illness and the steps taken to save her. No longer is magic a danger; now it might be a salvation.

Time is not on his side. Pushed to his limits, what he discovers may change the course of his service in the city—and to the queen. As the attacks in the city escalate, Zaren and his team search for answers, but it might already be too late to save the queen.

Zaren must rely upon everything he’s become to protect the city, but can he remain the Queen’s Blade?

Zaren, the Queen's Blade, is on his own now after the betrayal and treason of his mentor. He isn't alone, however, as Asi, another Blade, the Investigators and Constables have allied with him in defense of the capital.
The capital is never completely safe as it is the target of various enemies. Mysterious explosions are taking place, unexplained fires, nefarious magic and their constructs are appearing seemingly at random even as the Queen lies in a sickbed with a strange malady. The Guild, a cryptic group of assassins have an agent in the city as well. Zaren has his hands full.
Good book. Looking forward to the next one.

Review of the Traitor’s Trap

Another solid entry in the Queen’s Blade saga. Holmberg does a great job creating his world and populating that world with some very interesting characters. If you like thrilling adventure, fast action, mystery, a bit of mayhem, all mixed with a smattering of magic, you will enjoy this series. But, please, read the in order for it all to make sense.
