Off Limits Silver Fox Sergeant

Rate this book
So, there I was, stranded in a snowstorm,
in the spare bed of a very sexy, injured,
United States Air Force Sergeant
and all I could think about was getting out of there.

He’s out of my league, anyway. Way out of my league.

And I probably seemed like a total idiot screwing everything up
and getting stuck in his driveway.

Who’d want this clutz?

But two days later, we’re having lunch together.

The attraction is magnetic.

It doesn’t take long before this silver fox has me in his bed.

I admit, it’s a welcome change to my makeshift pallet bed
I’ve been sleeping on since running away from my A-hole ex.

Ethan rocks my world hard and fast.

He shows me what true love is.

And what it’s like to have a true lover.

He heals me from my pain.

He picks up the pieces of me and makes me whole again.

Then I find out who he really is.

And he finds out who I really am.

Wow! I loved the way the author had this story play out. You knew it was going to be a train wreck in your head. However, in your heart, you are rooting for this couple to make it. Especially Amelia. She fled a controlling, verbally abusive, relationship in the middle of the night. Amelia has two thousand dollars, from his lock box to start her new life. Now, she is three hundred and fifty miles away, and going by her middle name. She has her first apartment and has secured a job as a florist assistant. Where she is learning the art of flower arrangements and she also does deliveries.

Now, that is where her problem comes in. Because of the abuse, she suffered from asking for help or things she needed by making a fuss. It is not something she does because that used to cause hours of yelling and lectures. So, when she needed to make deliveries on that day a snowstorm was heading their way. Amelia didn't want to tell Ava her boss, that she was out of minutes for her phone until payday. She couldn't screenshot all the addresses to make the deliveries as she asked. She just wrote them down. On her last delivery, it started to snow harder, and she made a quick search. But yup, you guessed it. Wrong address.

However, in the end, it may have been the best wrong turn of her life. When the door opens a younger-looking, well-built, silver fox answers the door. When she tells him who the delivery is for. He says no one is there by that name. When she turns to leave to call her boss her phone is dead she nearly falls. However, the arrangement doesn't fare so well when they go flying, although the glass vase doesn't break. When Sergeant Ethan Sullivan hears a revving motor, he knows she’s having a problem. With one crutch in hand, he hobbles to the window and sees her in the snow with her bare hands trying to shovel her wheels free. When she’s still stuck, she then tries to push it out, but it is futile, so she gets back in blowing on her hands. But, she starts hitting her head on the steering wheel every so often.

Ethan wished some of his newly enlisted had as much determination as Amelia. That's when he invited her in to stay. It had hit the point where it was too late, and there was too much snow to dig her out. The tow service was too busy on the main highway to get to her, too. Ethan advised her to call her boss. When he heard her omitting parts of the truth, he called her on it. He hates lying. Because of her last relationship, she has become quite good at it. What she noticed is she didn't feel threatened with, Ethan. Nor did she feel as if she couldn't speak her mind and challenge him. It felt empowering. You don't want to miss this read. It’s because of the plot twist, that’s what keeps it so very interesting.

This was a quick read for me. It's about Amelia who is running away from an abusive ex and ends up working in a flower shop. She is kind of like a girl friday who does whatever her boss needs.

She is out delivering flowers and ends up way out of town with her last delivery as the snow starts coming down. She knocks on a door and is so surprised when a hunky man on crutches answers the door.

She holds out the flowers and he just looks at her. Evidently, she is delivering to the wrong address so she turns to leave and ends up slipping on the slick driveway, dumping the flowers all over. She picks them up, gets in her car and then can't move as the snow is coming down harder and she just keeps trying to move.

Ethan is watching her and finally goes outside and tells her to come in.

This book was a fast read, with some hard subject matter regarding a woman running from an abusive ex, and there is a twist that you don't see coming.

I would recommend this book.

This was an enjoyable read.

Amelia runs away from an abusive ex Dalton and settles in a small town, taking a job at a floral shop. During a chance encounter where Amelia delivers flowers to the wrong address, she stumbles upon Ethan’s house and ends up staying the night due to a bad snowstorm. This is the start of a very cute relationship between the two.

The storyline and plot was really good. I enjoyed that it was an age-gap, second chance at love for Amelia with a small town setting. Ethan treats her with nothing but love and respect, allowing Amelia to open up about her past and be genuine towards him. The connection they have is beautiful. The plot has a twist that I was not expecting, I loved that it had that twist because it kept things going with a fast-pace. Overall, a great read for me.

If you love an age-gap, second chance at love in a small setting with little spice but a lot of feels, this is the book for you! 💜📚

Amelia leaves in the middle of the night from a man that abused her. She left with some money of his to help with her fresh start. Now she is working in a flower shop and trying to do well. She is on a delivery when she gets lost and ends up at the wrong address. Ethan's place is where she ends up and he sees her struggling in the snow. He offers her a place to stay during the story however, he doesn't like how she tells white lies to get out of trouble. They grow close while they are together, and he tells her about his career. Ethan talks to her about joining the service to have a better life. Yet neither could believe a connection they would have in a roundabout way. Will they still be able to be together? Will her past come back to haunt her?

This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Deserving Love

25 year old Charlotte endured two years of a controlling, emotionally abusive relationship with her boy friend before she reached the breaking point and escaped his clutches with $2,000 of his money. With a wrong turn in a snow storm, she manages to end up right where she needs to be, right into the arms of Ethan, a 45 year old soldier. It’s a storyline filled with coincidences, twists and turns and a sweet predictable romance for Charlotte and Ethan. It’s a quick read and will leave you with a smile. I wished for more in depth info in the epilogue about their HEA rather than than a rushed recap but I’ll take it,minor editing errors included.

ARC Review

This book is a nice fast read but has a few not so light topics.. It was so cute and funny to see Ethan so smitten with Amelia and act like he did. It was really nice how their relationship grew and that he showed her how a good man should act. You could say it’s kinda insta love or pretty fast falling in love 😊 all in all a good read with nice characters and it was great how the fmc grew through the book. The ending suited the couple 😊

Amelia ran away from her abusive boyfriend, stealing money to start a new life. Ethan, an AirForce Sergeant broke his ankle. It's kind of a meet-cute. She try's delivering flowers in the snow and gets stuck at Ethan's house. He's about 20 years older than her, but they fall into bed, then in love.
The story definitely gives off "Sleeping with the Enemy" vibes. It's sweet. A very quick read. Good small town worldbuilding.

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my review.

He's a grumpy Air Force sergeant. She's on the run from a bad relationship… and there's one heck of a twist that blindsided them - and will blindside you when you come across it! I squealed when I worked it out :) This was an easy, enjoyable read. Four stars as I would have liked to have read more scenes set in the Air Force, and the epilogue was set very far in the future.

Thanks to BookSiren's for this arc. This was really relatable because my fiance was in the military as well and we have an age gap so this was fun. This isn't anything serious and since it's a novella it didn't give much but it was cute and there's some things that was romantic but it could have been better. Amelia comes off as really childish and it kinda killed it for me, also constantly using "fuckface" for her ex was just meh. Other than that it was alright.

I enjoyed reading this book and the storyline had potential. I just wished the author did more research on military life and had facts close enough to be believable. I also would have liked to read more about the outcome with the brother. Overall, it was an okay read.

Ethan and Amelia touched my heart in this age gap story. It had my emotions all over the place. When she leaves her ex in the middle of the night, she never expected that fate had other plans in store for her by way of Ethan and his relationship to her ex. Will these two finally get a chance to find the happiness they deserve.

It’s a small world.

A delightful journey through the lives of a grumpy Air Force sergeant and a woman escaping a troubled past. Their attraction and relationship was cute. I enjoyed his embarrassment about his injury. The unexpected twist adds a thrilling layer that kept me engaged. I wish the epilogue was not so far in the future.

This really is a lovely story. Amelia is a character overcoming an abusive past, and Ethan is a career military man who has never had time for love. Lots of intriguing twists and turns as these two maneuver their beautiful journey. A little steam, plenty of self discovery, and tons of love. Very well written. A quick read packed with all the good stuff.

Charlotte was in a terrible relationship. The man had her quit her job, and he verbally abused her. Charlotte took/stole
2000$ changed her name to Amelia and moved many miles away. Then she meets Ethan and finds a man that is Loving and Protective. Great Story

Passable age-gap novella. Whilst I did enjoy this story of on the rune from her ex, Amelia and older Air Force sergeant, Ethan I felt that the narrative felt a bit stilted. The story does engage when Amelia is stranded at Ethan’s house in a snowstorm; Ethan is recovering from a broken ankle and is smitten almost from the start with this sweet younger woman. There is a twist in the plot that I did not see coming regarding Amelia’s ex. Not a bad read, all told.

Poor Amelia can't catch a break. Hiding from an abusive ex, a new job she doesn't know much about, and a delivery gone wrong. I love how determined she is and how fate takes over for the good.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ashley wrote this lovely story with humour and lots of feelings
She wrote Amelia’s tale with such compassion, Amelia’s meeting of Ethan, then their tangled web of the relationship, the story had an unexpected ending, that was enjoyable

Not bad, not great

Quick read with no real substance. Not bad but not great either. Felt rushed and left feeling unsatisfied at the end.

Since I am the daughter of an Air Force Tech. Sergeant my only comment is that in the Air Force you have to be at least a 2nd Lieutenant to be a pilot.

I am a sucker for and age gap romance and this one is good. Amelia and Ethan are perfect for each other. There is a snow storm and Amelia gets her car stuck in the snow while delivering flowers. This is a quick read but the storyline is not predictable. Character development makes me feel like I know the main characters well. There is a twist in the story that you won't be prepared for but keep on reading as it is worth it. Ethan is such a teddy bear and perfectly deals with Amelia. I enjoyed this book.
