Seven Sons

Rate this book
*Please note this book is dark romance and deals with serious themes including rape, violence and murder.* This story unfolds over seven volumes approx. 25 - 30,000 words each. My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn't commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect. Including my innocence. When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old. Before my father died, Dornan and his sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer. I've just turned twenty-one, and I'm out for blood. I'm out for revenge. But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club. I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it. Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

So, I'm not normally a big fan of dark romance. To be honest, I'm a giant chicken and it scares the shit out of me the majority of the time. But today I stood in line for twenty minutes to meet this author and listened to so many people gush about how amazing this series was. Having seen it floating around Goodreads peeps as well, I decided to give it a shot. And I am so glad I did! (PS: Sorry to Jasmine and Allison for cheating on the buddy read! Couldn't help it this was awesome!)

At a very young ago, Julz endured a form of torture that would break most people, and it almost broke her beyond repair. Six years later she is looking for revenge, against the man who wronged her and all of his sons who helped in. Changing her appearance and her identity, she infiltrates the compound where they live. But pretty soon, Julz realizes she may be over her head, but it's too late to turn back now.

As I said before, dark is not my usual genre but I could not put this book down! I was hooked from the first page. For a 100+ page book, there was some great character development involved that is normally missing from shorter books. Many horrifying things occurred in this book so if you are easily offended this is not the book for you. I was surprised to find it didn't bother me so much because I was reading along thinking to myself "Get your revenge Julz!!" like a total nerd.

The only thing I had a teeny tiny issue with was how quickly Dornan became obsessed with "Sammi". It seemed to happen really quickly, but since he's fuckin crazy it also makes sense.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series and kind of want a redo on meeting Lili St. Germain so I can fangirl properly this time.

5/5 for everything. Loved it.

Ho-ly smokes.

Ever since her father was murdered and framed Juliette has vowed to avenge him. Her innocence and life was stolen by Dornan Ross and his "seven" sons. In order to do so, she's taken up a new appearance and name, Sammi/Samantha Peyton. The journey ahead well no doubt be a painful and dangerous one. But it's one she must take.

Julz/Sammi.. uh well, to be honest I felt so sorry for her, in the book description it stated her innocence got taken (yes, she got raped at the age of fifteen) plus her father got murdered and her mother sold her out for drugs. Like fuck. What kind of a childhood is that.

Anyway long story short, it was a really good read. Read this in an hour or so. The plot seems promising and not too dark for my liking. My gosh I literally can't think of anything to write, this book was... I don't know. Not cliché, had a solid storyline with great characters that had actual personalities and quirks.

I'd definitely recommend this book if you like creepy/twisted stories or characters and don't mind some sex scenes.

Am I going to continue the series?
Hells to the yeah! I want to see Dornan suffer. Jason and Julz/Sammi to get together and the other five brothers dead! And her mother to suffer, what kind of mother chooses drugs over her kid? -.-

A lot of feels, not enough pages. AHHHH

Review for entire series:

The Gypsy Brothers is a story about revenge. Our female lead was gang raped by the Ross brothers at age 15. Traumatized by her experience, our female lead hides from her past until her thirst for revenge can no longer be quenched. She then seeks revenge.

Each book in the series adds to her revenge on the Ross family. Despite the inappropriateness of it, you can't help but support her. If you are a fan of dark reads, this series of books is excellent. I rate this series 5 stars.

Juliette is a survivor. Dornan Ross and his six sons destroyed her life and her innocence. After years of pain, she has decided that revenge is the only answer...

This was an intense little book. It does contain dark themes in detail, so if you don't like that, move on to something more fluffy.

I generally don't like stories centered around abuse and rape. I normally avoid them because they make me feel very uncomfortable.
But even though the violence and rape are handled realistically, it still comes off well. You feel for Juliettte, and understand her drive for revenge.

Juliette is not a victim.

She has meticulously planned everything; from the plastic surgery, and new persona Sammi; to infiltrating the Gypsy Brothers base. There's something cold and methodical about everything she does, but without losing her humanity.
I was absolutely hooked from the start, and was sorry to see the book end. It is short, it is abrupt; but I wouldn't want it any other way. I love how Germain balances out Juliette's revenge, and her reconnection with the youngest son, Jase. I can't see how she could do that as convincingly if it wasn't a novella for each target.

I am definitely continuing with this series! And I would recommend checking it out, especially as it's free to download!

I'm having a moment right now...
Wow! This one was gooooood, totally different then the 'normal' MC books that are out there. I was sucked in from the very first page, result is that at the end there is only one thing that you want.... to know more!

We get a total kick-ass heroine that had to give up her entire life as she knew it all in order to survive. She had to wait 6 long years but today is the day that she gets her sweet well deserved revenge!

One down 6 to go!
Or will she get mercy and save one of them!?

I really feel like I read a different book than everyone else, I thought it was terrible. The characters felt like they weren't fully fleshed out and it felt like the author didn't have a plan. Sure, we have a trauma victim who wants revenge but... that's it. Not even the victim has a plan and seems like she's going to wing it, which sounds like the worst plan ever. The story kind of clunks around and then all of a sudden, we have one son down and the end? What? I know its a novella and there are six more parts but I can't imagine sticking around for any more.

Eh, this was okay. Very short, so it was hard to really connect or get to know the characters. That's the reason I'm not a big fan of novellas. Not sure if I'll continue on or not...

*ARC received in exchange for an honest review*

Juliette, or Julz, is on a mission, a mission of revenge. She has returned to Venice Beach, California to right the wrong of her father’s murder and her violent rape at the hands of Dornan Ross and his seven sons, all members of the Gypsy Brothers MC. She has undergone extensive reconstructive surgery to fix the injuries she sustained in the vicious beating at the age of 15, and to alter her looks to become a 21 year old knock out that Dornan Ross couldn’t possibly resist; all in an effort to infiltrate the MC and pick them off, one by one. She leaves the US, bound for Thailand as Juliette Portland, and returns as Samantha Peyton, a dancer looking for a job at Ross’s strip club.

Julz’s plan works even better than anticipated as Dornan becomes infatuated with her; he doesn’t have the slightest clue of who she really is. She passes her “audition” with flying colors and quickly becomes Dornan’s new bedroom toy. She must fight the disgust of being touched sexually by the man that ruined her life; her only saving grace being the conversations she begins to have with Jase, the youngest brother. Julz’s past is all around her, from interaction with Dornan and the seven brothers, to seeing her own mother still working in the kitchen. She must fight the urge to come clean and continue to play the charade in order to carry out her plan.

What could possibly derail Julz’s plan though is her past relationships with Elliot, the police officer that saved her and smuggled her out of the area; and Jase, the youngest Ross brother. Jase was Julz’s childhood sweetheart and unwillingly took part in the rape. It is still apparent that Jase is active in the MC only as an employee of the clubhouse. He doesn’t take part in his father’s dirty work or debauchery. Julz’s feelings for these two important men in her life may lead to her undoing. Elliott left the police force almost immediately after getting Julz to safety with his grandmother in Nebraska. He had vowed revenge himself until he became the father of a little girl; his life forever changed knowing that he had a young life depending on him.

Seven Sons was a five star read from cover to cover. It was engaging from the very first page and the idea of a strong woman seeking retribution for the life that was torn apart makes for riveting reading. My only concern with this series though is the price. This first edition is currently free on Amazon, however subsequent volumes are priced at $2.99 each. When all is said and done, we’re talking about an $18 novel and call me cheap, but I just can’t justify spending that kind of money on an e-book. I have rated this volume appropriately because it is indeed free, but I can’t move on in the series at the $2.99 price point. It would be a no-brainer at .99 or even $1.49 (still talking a $6-9 book) because it is so fantastically written, but at the current price,

I’m always up for a biker book. Reading about MC’s reminds me of SOA and that makes me happy. So when I finally got around to reading this one, even though I started it when I should have been sleeping…I was excited.

It was pretty great even though it’s the first of seven books and was short in comparison to some others I’ve read. But it being a serial didn't turn me off jumping on for the ride.

I liked the premise right off the jump but what Julz/Sam experienced, I wanted to see her exact her revenge for. Which made me think that not only did this have the SOA vibe, but it had the Revenge vibe too. Instant hook line and sinker book for me.

By the end of Seven Sons, I got my payoff, at least a little. It was definitely a fast paced read but not in the way that it moved so quickly I felt I was missing something. I was right there on the crazy train every step of the way.

If the second book delivers with the same formula as the first, I can see myself easily becoming addicted to these books. In other news, how refreshing was Jase. A light in a sea of sick and depraved darkness. Hello Jax Teller….well at least Jax in my head as I was reading anyway. lol

Great quick read. On to book 2!

This is my first read by Lili St. Germain and I enjoy her writing style but, this book was "saved" from being a five-star read because I really just couldn't completely understand the heroine.

"Julz" is raped - viciously so by a biker gang of brothers and their father when she is fifteen. Left for dead, she returns 6 years later to exact vengeance. It is her method and means for obtaining that vengeance that have me bothered, or perhaps just the things she is willing to do.

I don't know, it stretches my ability to suspend disbelief just a smidge.

I will continue with the series because I just must know what happens in the end and will more than likely read other books by Lili St. Germain because I do enjoy her writing.

*** ARC received for an honest review ***

For being a novella ‘Seven Sons’ doesn't half pack a punch.

From the start we are thrown head first into a world of betrayal, murder and the ultimate pursuit of revenge.

“Today my name is Juliette Portland, but tomorrow I will wake up as someone else entirely.”

This book is dark and tackles some situations which people may find uncomfortable to read about, but believe me. It’s so bloody worth the read.

I am hooked; I am anxious and I can’t wait to crack on with this series to see how everything plays out.
This is just the beginning……

"I planned to dig seven."

the warning is right there. it is violent. warning heeded i read on. this book is steamy to the point of trashy. im not used to that so i guess i didnt know what i was getting myself into.
**SPOILER ALERT** however, the problem i have with this book is not with the violence or the trash. its the story that a guy starts falling for a girl his (sadistic, demeaning, violent, psychopathic) father is sleeping with. a little too jerry springer for me. the author does know how to write some smut i will say that. i just have no respect for the son.

A completely new author for me, I was BLOWN out of the water with this one!!!

I'm all for a good motorcycle club story but this was beyond good!!

What I really liked, is that the author, got right to the point!!

Chapters were short but storyline read fast..

High action; though violent in places...its a good story...of REVENGE!!!

I'm very much looking forward to picking up the rest in the series & am eagerly awaiting the 2nd book in this series...

Thank you Lili St. Germain for such a great read!!!

Wow!

Fantastic read!

It's not your average love story with a happy ending, it raw, brutal and heart breaking!

7 brothers and 1 girl determined to reek revenge on those that did her wrong!
But she ends up closer than she expected, is this a good thing?!

Can she pull off her plan?

I loved this book from start to finish, it's impossible to put down.

You will shout at her, you will cry for her and with her, you will shout but most most of all, you will admire her strength and fighting spirit.

You will be turning the pages long into the early hours!

Must admit I wasn't sure about reading this series but it was recommended to me so I gave it a go. OMG read it in a day, stayed up till 1am to finish it then downloaded 6 Brothers ready for today. Although some bits were tough to read, by that I mean what Sammi had been though and what she was enduring in order to get her revenge, this book was raw, gritty, and at a fast pace which kept me reading. Great read.

Setelah menunda baca seri ini sekian lama sampai tamat, ternyata kepuasannya setara. Background kisah hidup Juliette mengikat mataku. Aku suka kepribadian heroinenya. Dia punya sisi super rapuh tapi juga bak Phoenix. Heronya masih dual, Jason belum banyak diekspos dan Elliot yang stabil dan dewasa penuh potensi.
Villainnya hot dan super twisted, 7 sons from 5 women. Just WOW...

Well written and darkly intense story. This story is uncomfortable to read at times, it's not a feel good story and it ends with one heck of a cliffy, but it's well worth reading. This book is not for the faint of heart. I had to put my Kindle down several times before continuing, but I'm glad I read it and I recommend it for anyone who loves a dark read.

Oh my god! What can I say? I was hooked by the first few pages of this book. The story is revolting, disgusting, but equalling satisfying. The idea of exacting revenge, and actually seeing it happen is enticing. I loved where this book went. Pre-ordered the next book. Wow, Lili. You know how to hate. I can't wait to see you love.

This dark erotic story had my attention throughout but it was just the first of seven short gripping books that tell the whole story. Sammi was brutalized by a man and his seven sons when she was 15 and now at 21 she is out for vengeance. This book is free but it will cost nearly $20 to read them all.
