Good girls follow the rules…until they don’t.

Sin Bin here I come.

I can’t say I don’t deserve the penalty time. I’ve been keeping secrets, huge ones, from those closest to me. I mean, sometimes a girl just needs something that’s solely hers. Something she can hold close to her heart or, more accurately, her greedy little Omega pus… Well, you can probably read between the lines—something is more like someones.

There’s my brothers’ best friend, the star center who’s lit me up and helped me burn for the last five years.

Then the cuddly cinnamon roll Beta trainer that, as it turns out, is already bonded to an intense, seductive Alpha who’s claiming I’m his.

Oh, and let’s not forget the Alpha who just so happens to be my bestie’s father and owner of the Phoenix Heat.

Our penalties are adding up as the clock winds down…and when the buzzer finally sounds, the three older men who all bring something different to my life, and the Beta who helps balance them out, are no longer my dirty little secrets. Will our new pack crumble under the pressure, or will we say puck the rules and hold on to each other for dear life, regardless of the consequences?

You know what they say, it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
For Trigger Warnings, please visit my website. Breaking Our Rules is book two in the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse Universe, a series of fast-burn reverse harem romance standalones. This book includes MMFMM. Each book will end in an HEA and lead into the next book with a new feisty omega and her own rough around the edges, hockey playing alphas.

I wanted to like this more than I did. Cadence being 23 serves no purpose other than making the “older” guys in the pack more taboo feeling. As if we didn’t already have enough of that with Max being her best friend’s father. And we threw in brother’s best friend trope with her brothers being literal awful people to her for getting a pack. I also could have lived without West calling her father daddy so often jeeez

The Barrett situation felt similar to Nash in the first book and was honestly boring. Most of the characters in this book had zero personality and it’s just uninteresting.

This book feels like the author threw as many tropes as possible into it and a half baked plot and called it a day.

"A few are
surrounded by a crowd of simpering girls in skimpy outfits and too much
makeup who are just begging them for attention. I roll my eyes. I will never
be that desperate." - Cadence

Then she proceeds to be desperate for her brothers' best friend for years literally begging him for scraps and then demanding to be fucked by her best friend's dad and then basically after a DAY telling Santiago that she loves him even though they know literally nothing about each other?
Oh ok girl-

And I'm all for getting all the dick and women being comfortable in their sexuality but if you're going to slut shame and let your internal misogyny come out at least make sure that you're not doing the exact same thing you condemn

Loved it.
There was just something that the first book in this series had to make it a 4.8, that this one is missing. And I can’t put my damn finger on it.

Maybe it’s the relationship development?
I feel like we didn’t get much time getting to know the guys and bonding, because we were all a little more focused on trying to fix the relationship that was already existing between her and Barrett.(yes. I forgot her name. Shhhh. It’s fine.😶)

Still.
It was a good book, and the smut was really hot.

“I wasn’t expecting you, but now that I have you, I’m not sure I’ll be able to control myself much longer.”

Another outstanding OV from Sinclair Kelly! I absolutely loved the story, the characters, the romance, and the steam. It’s a great blend of forbidden romance (best friend’s father, brothers’ best friend, large age gaps), secret relationships, a growing pack, and angst, with a smattering of hockey. This is an overall sweet, low-anxiety, and spicy read.

Highlights were the bonded MM Alpha/Beta pair, Santiago and Gabe, and the all-in Alpha, Maxim. I have a soft spot for Betas, and the cinnamon roll, Gabe, was divine.

Breaking Our Rules is a fast-burn, insta-love, and spicy why-choose romance with MM. It contains the usual OV goodies – knots, knotting, slick, scenting, heats, claiming bites, and group scenes. The dirty talk is top-notch.

This book is a complete standalone with a HEA. There are cameos from characters in the Knot Yours Omegaverse series and the previous book in the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse series, but they need not be read to enjoy this book.

A highly recommended sweet omegaverse!

Another sweet and spicy read, told from all POV. A little different than the first book, but still awesome! The best part is the instant connection they each share and how it heals each other’s past issues. Totally digging this series.

SPOILERS:

She sets an ultimatum. He panics when he wanted to reveal an important information and instead of listening him out first, she runs away in tears. Next alpha comes and takes her home and bonds her. I just find the rollercoaster of emotions so unrealistic - if I'm breaking up with one guy because he doesn't jump fast enough for me, but then in the next breath turn around and bond myself to two others as if my heartache wasn't important enough.

I tried with this book. It's not for me.

DNF at 4%.

I hate this illicit sex thing where he's not willing to be in a relationship cause he's "too old" but he'll f her and knot her and then tell her she can't tell anyone.

Feels super skeevy.

This was such a fun hockey OV which definitely made me wish I had my own silver foxes. This book managed to combine some very yummy tropes in a fun, spicy package. I mean brother's best friend AND best friend's dad?! With hockey? And throw in some horses too with a kinda cowboy-ish billionaire? And a delicious medic? Yum. I'll take one of each, please and thank you!

Whilst I did prefer book 1 in the series, Sinclair Kelly did deliver a really enjoyable romance. I wish it had just a bit more spice, but this was a fun and easy read that I did enjoy a lot.

Very enjoyable - lower drama and high spice. I have the same critique of this as I did the first book: the relationship development wasn't all there for me. I know very little about the characters. You either have to be a very skilled writer to be able to do the character work in a short-ish book or need to write a longer book (and yes, I know this was 372 pages). I liked how the best friend's dad part was handled, but not her "secret" relationship with Barrett. I understood where Cadence was coming from, but she basically gave him a ultimatum before he was even able to tell her something that was very difficult for him to share.

I'm looking forward to Elliot's story and will definitely read more OV from this author.

Oh God, Cadence girl, I want to be you.

This book surpassed the first one, and what I said before, I repeat it now: I love a well-written omegaverse, and this author surprises me once again. The entire story revolves around Cadence, a 23-year-old omega who returns to her home after graduating from college. She has a secret relationship with an alpha who happens to be her brothers’ best friend. But you know how secrets can sometimes be detrimental, and she grows tired of hiding. Enter Gabe, a beta (whom I adore and is my favorite), who is bonded to an alpha named Santi. This is where things get interesting because Cadence feels an attraction to Gabe, and he believes she could be the perfect omega for their small pack. And just when I thought it ended there, she also has a connection with her best friend’s dad (from the previous book). Let me tell you, this whole story kept me entertained, and I didn’t want to go to work just so I could finish it. The storytelling is excellent, and you won't get lost in multiple points of view. The introduction of each character feels natural.

There isn't excessive drama (which I liked), although I did shed a few tears towards the end. I enjoyed reading this book a lot. Cadence is a strong girl who knows what she wants and fights for it. She forms bonds with men who feel like the missing pieces of herself, they defended her, encouraged her, and supported each other. Yes, one of them was stubborn and didn’t always see reason, even after they decided to form a pack, but I appreciated that they didn't leave him behind.

It’s a good story, filled with hockey (which I loved), steamy moments, and charming characters.

I can't wait for the next book.

📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.

Delicious just delicious 🤌

The angst, the spice, the characters…Sinclair nailed it.

Did I cry…maybe…Look my heart strings get pulled every damn time with this author 😅😭

My girl Cadence was going through it. Loved how she put herself first and didn’t let her past hinder what she wanted her future to look like.

West is the best comedic relief 🤣

Oh man best friend’s dad done to perfection lol
Max 🤤🤤🤤

The dynamic between Riggs and Santiago blending seamlessly with pulling Cadence into it was just amazing. I loved how intense Santiago was for both his beta and his omega.

Did I want to smack Barrett? Yes.
But do I love Barrett? Also, yes.

Also really really loved the relationship the guys developed and the growth between them!!

I could keep waxing poetic but just read this series dammit.

Y’all, I am SO glad I received this ARC because I am feral for this series. If you like RH/omegaverse and/or hockey romance, you definitely want to pick this one up!

As always with my reviews, there are mild spoils in the tropes and trigger warnings at the end so read those at your own risk. *mental health is important*

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Format read: ebook, ARC
POV: Multi, first person, MMFMM
World building: Contemporary and ACTUAL hockey content 👏🏻 Overall it was very easy to visualize each scene and actually feel immersed in the hockey world, which I LOVED. I feel like so often hockey romances have minimal, if any, hockey content other than them being a player/going (off page) to practice & games. Sinclair did a really nice job balancing between the hockey world and relationship building.
Plot development: Deeply intertwined with relationship development, because let’s be real.. that’s why we’re here. But! There were definitely still some unexpected twists to keep you on your toes.
FMC: Cadence aka Cadie aka C—our peachy, 23-year-old omega with big grey eyes. She’s sassy, but also beautifully submissive.
MMC(s): Barrett Mathews aka B—our stubborn, badass hockey playing 38-year old alpha. I won’t mention our other MMCs because spoils, but they are all delicious in their own ways. I love each one of them for her for different reasons, and we get alllll the possessive alpha vibes we know and love. Especially because these men are older and know exactly what they want 😏
"'That’s it. Just like that. Such a good fucking girl for your Alpha, aren’t you? Now come.'”

"The moment she slipped her delicate hand in mine, I knew she was the one we’ve been waiting for.”

”’You can tell me, Cadence. I promise I won’t bite…’ My voice drops and entire octave. ‘Unless you want me to.’”

"Mine. That one word blasts through my subconscious the second my lips touch hers. She's soft and sweet and everything I never could have dreamed of. My Alpha instincts are front and center, trying to take control of the situation I've been waiting the last twenty years for--the sense of home only a mate can stir to life." Swooooooon!

”'Dont be shy, sweetheart. Suffocate me. I promise I’ll die a happy man.'”

And, *ahem* the MM action in this one is 😮‍💨🥵 Just yes, more of that please.
”'You’re such a good boy for your Alpha, osito. Now, open up. I’ve been dying to watch you gag on my dick.'”

Secondary character(s): It was so nice to get some more of the characters we loved from book one (He’s So Slick), as well as her other series. There’s also a nice little intro for our next couple toward the end, which I’m super excited about 👏🏻
Spice 🌶: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5 (*Note: I almost never give anything 5). Plenty of scenes, juicy detail, and one scorching heat 🔥

This was such a fun and steamy readIf you’re a fan of sweet OV, the kind with more fluff but still great spice—then this is for you! I typically gravitate more towards darker OV, but I like to break up those reads with something lighter, and this was exactly that.

This is the second in a series but i have not read the first yet and I didn’t feel like I was lost or missing anything. You will see those characters though—the FMC from book one and Cadence are best friends.

So cadence has had a massive crush on Barrett—her older brother’s best friend—forever, and finally makes her move before heading off to college after graduation. Without giving away all the details, things happen and they end up agreeing to a friends w/benefits situationship, agreeing to abide by a few specific rules, for the next five years! Then she comes back home after college and ends up running into him at a bar, with a puck bunny all over him. After so many years of hiding their relationship, she can’t stand to see him with anyone else..so she gives him an ultimatum, either take their thing to the next level and go public, or she’d have to move on. He’s hung up on the age gap and doesn’t think he’s good enough for her, so she storms off.

Little does she know..pretty soon she’ll have an entire pack to herself, including stubborn af Barrett. So many fun tropes in this one! Brother’s best friend, best friend’s dad, sword crossing, and age gap, which are some of my personal favorites! And a very likable omega IMO! Plus, hockey! I’ll definitely have to go back and read book one because I liked what I saw of those characters so far!

If you’re looking for a crazy intense OV, this isn’t the one. But if you are just looking for something fast paced, likable characters, high steam, with a dash of angst—for sure check this one out!! I’m excited to read more from this author!

I read He's So Slick (Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse Book 1) back in October, and from the moment I finished, I couldn't wait to read Breaking Our Rules! It was worth every minute of the wait and once I started it, I couldn't stop reading!

Breaking Our Rules has a unique dynamic that includes a five year clandestine relationship between Cadence (omega) and Bennett (alpha), her brothers' best friend/ NHL hockey star. After returning to Phoenix following the last five years at college and work, Cadence suddenly finds herself drawn to the (beta) team physician, his bonded alpha, and the alpha father of her best friend. Wow! She didn't see that one coming!

But creating a pack from two long-time friends (one of which has been hiding a five year relationship with Cadence), a bonded alpha and beta pair, and the omega they all know belongs to them, while keeping the situation secret from Cadence's brothers and her best friend (who also happens to be the daughter of one of the alphas), is not an easy situation to balance. Can it get any messier than that??!! But these men support Cadence, and each other, and are determined to make this work. All four men are older than Cadence, making this age-gap perfection!

While this is an omegaverse with the building of a pack, most of the character development involves Cadence and Bennett, but it is the other men in the group who make the character growth possible. They are able to help heal damage done to Cadence's self worth after what was basically a rejection by Bennett, the alpha she has felt she has belonged to for the last five years. Bennett has his self-sacrificing reasons not to claim her, and the guys help him open his eyes and see that a future is possible. Yes, tears were shed during the reading of this book!

Am I eagerly awaiting book three? You bet!

I had the opportunity to read an advance copy and am happy to share my opinions on it. Thank you to the author and Chaotic Creative Services for the e-arc!

3.25-ish⭐️’s - I’m rarely confused when I disagree (in the negative) with the majority of readers. I am WAY too lenient with books I am on the fence upon. I typically over rate books as a whole but when ranking by stars i tend to round up.

I’m surprised I am in the minority of the ratings of this book.

Don’t get me wrong: while the plot of the beta alpha omega sporty bi-poly reverse harem trope holds a special place in my smutty reader’s heart, and initially this book for the most part is more clever and better written than most… until that bullshit ending.

That’s where sh*t for me fell off…

I’m annoyed… ending a book (prefaced with stating it’s technically part of a series is able be read individually and ends in an HEA) in an abrupt orgy with the FMC getting railed by all of her alphas when she’s finally cleared to have sex after being in a coma for days?! But literally… she cums… end scene ….

Wut?

Ok, sure… there’s an epilogue that’s all rainbows and bullshit… but to me, an epilogue is not a part of a book: it’s an afterthought from the author to wrap up the crap they left behind after being called out by their editors.

It felt like I blipped out… or I accidentally took a nap between the end and the epilogue… and not sure what happened between then and now… but just accept it’s a thing and move on instead of acknowledging it.

this was fine and i enjoyed about half of it. not chronologically, it’s not like the first half is bad and the end is good. it’s more that the parts with the pack all together, and the groveling section are good. the rest is bizarre.

this is a book where half of the pack are people she met two days ago. she knows nothing about them. we as the audience know nothing about them.

the third member of the pack is her best friend’s dad, which i don’t have a problem with, but it’s also a person she has a bizarre and somewhat sexually charged encounter with for about 5 minutes in a kitchen. and then they’re in love????

and the last member of the pack is this guy she’s been fucking for years, and she’s too naive to accept a no strings attached arrangement, and he’s too stupid to open his mouth and say anything about literally anything.

so when they’re all together, the book is warm and fun and seeing everyone get along is really sweet.

but the circumstances of this book don’t make any sense.

⭐️4.5. This book?! It was everything I wanted in an omegaverse. My one complaint with the first book is this series, was that it needed a little more suspense and drama to add to the story. This brought it. And just like the title, it broke all the rules, and it was perfect.
Each individual relationship with Cadence was fleshed out beautifully, and you really got to understand the back and forth each person had before they "broke the rules" and started to become a pack.
I will say, there weren't as many spicy scenes in this book as previous books, but what it lacked in quantity, it brought in quality. Because that last heat?! Delicious debauchery. Even if you don't read the book fully, you will definitely be reading the last few chapters in detail. If not more than once. 🔥 I don't think there is a date for Elliots book yet, but I simply cannot wait!!

I would rate this 4.5 out of 5~

I really liked most of it. I loveddd Maxim, Gabe, and Santiago. They were all SWOON. And Cadence was a great FMC. I liked the age gap and the relationship dynamics. Also how fast the three guys fell for her.

My only issue was Barrett. Okay so first off, his whole reason for not committing to her is stupid. Like man, just communicate with her. AND THEN, when he tries to communicate, effs it up, and she leaves, instead of following/approaching her the next day about it, HE PLANS AN ELABORATE GROVEL THAT SPANS WEEKS. DUDE ALL SHE WANTED WAS FOR YOU TO SAY YOU LOVE HER AND TO BOND HER!!!! WHY DID YOU PLAN THIS LONG AF GROVEL??? it’s not what she wanted. The whole weeks they’re apart after her accident are so dumb. Like why didn’t you get together in the hospital? I just found that stupid. It tbh made the book less enjoyable than if they had just gotten together at like 60%. (They didn’t get together till like 87%). We barely got any cute moments with them because of this.

Breaking Our Rules is the second book in the Knot Pucking Mine Omegaverse Series. It is a why choose, brothers best friend, best friend’s dad, age-gap, omegaverse, hockey romance with m/m, secrets, lies, major “S” tension, some really emotional moments.

One fabulous omega, three reluctant Alphas who need to get their crap together, a sweet Beta who is determined to bring everyone together, add two very overprotective brothers and what do you get? I’ll tell you what you get, one fantastic book that I absolutely loved! I seriously could not put this one down for love nor money! I was entranced by it all.

The writing, flow, pace, characters, character development, storyline, storytelling, relationship development, and world building are all terrific, oh, and let’s not forget those fabulously written steamy scenes! This one definitely gets my five stars and recommendation.

Breaking Our Rules is another great omegaverse read by this author. It includes all the best elements of OV, plus we see the brother’s best friend and best friend’s dad trope.

Secretly seeing her brother’s best friend for years, has taken a toll on Cadence. Throwing down an ultimatum, creates a rift. One that will change the course of both their lives.

The relationship dynamics between the characters really propel the storyline. And Cadence, my girl, has her hands full.

I loved the way the group flowed together. Even though character development really happened mostly for Bennett and Cadence. I enjoyed the way the others cultivated their growth.

Plus who doesn’t love a few silver foxes…

I absolutely devoured this book! I loved the storyline, the characters, and Sinclair Kelly is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors!

It was such a fun and mostly easygoing read! There is a little angst that added the perfect amount of emotion to the story! Each of the guys in the book felt so different it made it fun to follow along!

I hope book 3 come out soon, and that there may be more, because I'm obsessed!

3.5-4⭐️ Solid Omegaverse novel. I did think some of her Alpha choices seemed weird. But each was different enough to feel like they made a team. The FMC was similar to the rest of the FMCs in the series so she is somewhat interchangeable. The sexual tension was nice and the sexy times were spicy. The drama level was lower so it was a nice fluffy comfort read.

(4.5 rounded up to 5)

“Love doesn't have prerequisites, and it sure as hell isn't easy.”

What I liked:

- Absolutely loved Cadence, especially when she stands up for herself.
- The cross-over with Sinclair’s other series was so good. I so enjoyed getting a little bit of time with Arden, Reese, and Bexley.
- The men in this pack…goddamn!
- The hockey of it all. A hockey, omegaverse probably one of my favorite romances to read.
- The vibes of this book were just so fun and sweet

What didn’t work for me:

- There were a couple of minor things I didn’t love, but I could ignore most of it because the vibes were immaculate.
