Several of Rice's novels have been adapted for television. Her monologue for the play Motherhood Out Loud premiered at Hartford Stage and has been performed Off-Broadway in NYC and at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Rice is a Creative Affiliate of the Safina Center. She lives in southeastern Connecticut.

I liked most of this book but it did not leave me feeling content or... there was not a resolution that left me satisfied. I am not sure exactly what I am trying to convey but I suppose I had an early idea about how this would turn out and the conclusion was too far from that ending for me to give this book a higher rating.
