Two years ago, Sophia decided that she and her husband needed to divorce. After their two children left home they were drifting further apart and she decided that they both deserved happiness. Now, she just isn't sure that she did the right thing. Her children are drifting further away from her and she's in a job that doesn't satisfy her and is living in her father's house. She has zero self confidence and is afraid to try anything new and is caught up in thinking about her life but not willing to make positive steps to help her find happiness.
Sophia's life is full. She has the huge Wilson family that enjoys spending time together. She has just found out that she and Lily are sisters and they are establishing a solid bond with each other. She and her daughter are getting closer and even though her son is working in Africa, she feels that they are getting along better. She is working in a bakery but what she really wants is to own her own bakery but she's afraid to make that happen. Plus her ex-husband Darren is still an important part of her family and she is becoming very unsure of why she ended the marriage when he is still one of her best friends. Can Sophie find the strength and the self confidence to make changes in her life that will make her happy?
This was a great addition to the Cape Cod series. We all think by the time we get older, we will have our lives figured out. Sophia proves that this just isn't true. She's in her 40s and still doesn't know what she needs to do to find the happy life that she desires. She finds out that starting over to find yourself is worth the effort and there can be happiness at the end of changes.

Better than the first
The writer's craft appears to be improving. I like the setting and some of the premises. The proof reading could be improved. Several of the main characters' names have various spellings and it was unclear if the wedding was held in the hotel or at the bakery given the scene with the fire damage. I was pleased to see that the heroine of this novel didn't splash water on her face nearly as many times as the one in the first novel. I suggest that there be some kind of link regarding the blanket that is always being draped or wrapped for comfort. Perhaps it could be a tradition that Grandma and other family members (men do sew) make for each other. There also seems to be a huge leap from the "helpless, anguished" female to one who can self advocate and be pleased with her choices.

Lots of family support and dynamics on the book. The Wilson family takes care of each other, and loves family celebrations and gatherings. Sophia has tough decisions to make, but has very little self confidence. What does she want to do with her future? Does she really want to be divorced from husband Darren? Would she enjoy managing the bakery?
In the midst of accepting her son’s work in Africa, it seems an intruder is determined to break into the house. Darren gets Sophia a dog for protection and ends up staying over several times as extra security and insurance.

This second book in the series deals mostly with Lily's half-sister, Sophia. Since they are newly acquainted, they are working through how to relate. Lily's father, Eric, is an obnoxious controlling man who lied to Lily about her mother and her mother's family. Lily is trying to come to terms with that. Sophia is instrumental in telling Lily what her mother was really like. Sophia is also having problems of her own as she is recently divorced, but still cares about her ex - Darren. She also has issues with her two young adult children, Zac and Zoe.
The characters in this book are likeable, but a bit flat - again missing some background information.

Wow...this is a mess !
This book is in serious need of .a good editor. I read the first book in the series and don't remember it being a mess, this second book in the series is a train wreck. At one point a characters name changes three times in 3 paragraphs! A car seat is referred to as a chair , character interaction jumps all over the place....I didn't check, but I can only assume this book is self published, no editor would let this mess go to print...its too bad, was looking forward to a new series.

Sophie has been trying to get her life together for the last two years. She’s working at the bakery and trying to get over her feelings for her ex husband.
This is a nice story in this second in the series.
It has a bit of a mystery and a sweet romance. It kinda ends in a cliffhanger so I’m now anxiously waiting for the next one. It’s a perfect beach read

A page turner :
I have rated the second book( Cape Cod series a five star. I couldn't put the book down. It just warms my heart. The love of family, friends just gives me a warm cozy feeling and of course was her mother murdered or was it an accident. Hopefully I will find out in the next book of this wonderful Cape Code series.

This book had such a good plot with the break ins. Zoe deciding what she wants. With Amy arriving in town to get away from Eric. Him hiring someone to hurt people. All the changes at Nora Bakery. I am looking to see if they find out anything about Kelly's death.

Good story , couldn't really relate to the characters and why Sophia gave up her marriage when clear;y she wants to be with her husband , there's a story I missed about her mom and a robbery , it ended on a cliffhanger so I may read book three to fill in some gaps .

A good read to the end
This book is a good read to get lost in and eager to get back to especially when you are worried or bothered by things going on in your own life. It calls to you to comeback and read a feel good book. A excellent diversion !

An unlikable father.
Book held interest. Subtle hint of a love not lost. It is easy to admire a lArge loving extended family. The father played a cruel man with unbelievable morale standards.

A good book in this new series set on Cape Cod. The story is good and I enjoy the family connections. However my one complaint is there's too many characters. Trying to keep them straight every time the family has a get together , is overwhelming and takes away from the book. There's a bit of mystery and suspense in this one along with a HEA.
