Book 1 They say power corrupts the soul. Sometimes you take the risk. I was just a cop on my beat when the world ended. My last memory was of an alien death ray ripping me from existence. When I woke up in a strange world, I should have just laid low. Figured out the rules of this place before I got involved. But when you see a woman running from slavers. Well… let’s just say they got what they deserved. Only problem is that makes enemies—demigods with the power to bind the magically gifted women of Timeria to their will. I can stop them, with powers bestowed by a god. But they come with a catch. I must bind these women, the Chosen, to my very soul. Just like the Demigods I want to stop.
Book 2 Gambit: With chaos comes opportunity.
The world is at the brink of disaster, and the demigods want him dead. Derk knows the tribulations he faces force him into perilous situations, but with Tyla and Tasnia sworn to his side, he might save things yet. With new and unproven allies, plus a mysterious elf named Diane, now he must navigate intrigue and assassins to build his power enough to fend off those who pursue him. Should be simple, right? Nobody wins without taking a few risks after all.

Book 3 Sometimes you have to stop running and take a stand.
Derk finally has the beginnings of a force to stand up to the Demigods. But it's not even remotely enough.
His estranged mother-in-law is assembling an army to follow, with orders to crush him before he can become anything more than a minor nuisance to her Dark Master.
Derk and his wives must travel through a desert, filled with enigmas and hidden perils, all while outrunning those who pursue. All to find a bastion they can fortify and call their own.
There is such a place, a legacy meant just for Derk. A ruined fortress built almost a thousand years ago. One with a long-forgotten secret buried beneath.
One that can change everything.
Continue Derk's epic saga in Book 3 of the Pawns Rebellion Series.
This book has just the right amounts of comedy, romance, strife, and fantasy elements to keep the reader engaged. Enjoyed this omnibus version, on to the last book
This series contains an uncommon magic structure and a unique genesis/plot line. It has a harem structure, and when it starts, it starts strong. If that sort of thing offends you, know that it is not the focus and the graphic content becomes much more limited as the story progresses. It has enough action, balanced with world building, to satisfy most readers. Of course this is all my opinion, yours may naturally differ.
Here's another earth man going to a different world. Despite being in a completely new culture he attempts to put all his own mortality onto everyone else. How incredibly arrogant to assume he knows better than the entire new world. I could not finish it nor do I recommend it.
I don't have much to say here. I found the book to be rather typical for the genre, and didn't really form any particular memories of the story.
Except for the audiobook.
The audiobook was an instant DNF for me. The Voice-Actor/Narrator decided on a high, whiny, exaggerated voice, not unlike the voice of the 90's Sonic-the-Hedgehog cartoon. It didn't fit the tone of the story at all, and I couldn't bear to listen to more than the first chapter and a half.
