This book was written at least primarily by AI. Each section is about three pages long. There is no depth to any section and there is so much thrown at the wall it's a mess. As a writer there are probably some uses of AI that make sense. Copy edit? Sure, it does a better job that Grammar/Spellcheck. Brainstorming. But this book is just a scam. Do not buy it. Don't download it through Kindle Unlimited. I've been doing a lot of research for my own book on Journaling and by far the best book I've found is: The New Diary: How to Use a Journal for Self-Guidance and Expanded Creativity by Tristine Rainer. Of course your milage may vary, the Bullet Journal Method is very good especially for the organizational coherence it brings. But not this.
Excellent introduction to how to get started in journaling. Basically the first half is how to get started and the second half is different types of layouts that an inexperienced journalist might find interesting. I’d bought a letter sized book and I don’t do all the customization (stickers, washi tape, etc that the author (obviously a visual dominant person) suggests but event the basic layout help was valuable. I grow a fair amount of fruit for my family and I added a page to track calendar dates (i.e., bud break, flowering, fruit ripening, etc. Also some of my gratitude entries were sterile. I’ve switched to writing very short stories, so that when I read these in the future, I will immediately be transported back to that moment.
I’d heartily recommend this book to any aspiring or beginner journalist
I chose this book because I find Journaling to be natural and easy. Unlike the author and many others I have never been at a loss to write, be mindful or creative.
The author showed me what others go through and it was eye opening. So many helpful ideas on blending nature within and outside of ourselves.
Very insightful daily practices and a variety of modalities from social media to artistic tools- from paints, colored pencils and pens, stickers, pictured etc.
I enjoyed that it was like combing a vision board to Journaling.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wishing to add more depth to their inner knowledge and connection with the world and all that inhabit the world.
Proven and practical methods to make the most out of journaling
This guide explains why journaling is a powerful tool for the flow of ideas. It outlines basic steps anyone can do to get started, but also outlines more complex methods of journaling for those who are experienced. A great read for novices, experts, or anyone who is interested in the subject!
Extensive overview of a variety of journalling techniques I have not heard about prior to reading this book. From urban journaling to inspired action, you will find a style as unique as your personality. Highly recommend for those looking for more introspection, creativity, or focus in their lives.
I would not purchase or choose this book. The author advertised on Craigslist paying for 5 star reviews and encouraged those who replied to not even bother reading the book and just leave a 5 Star review. I was one of the respondents and after leaving the review I was not paid and ghosted by the author and her publisher. They are scammers! Don't waste your time.
1.5/5 stars Every chapter started with "Imagine" or "Picture this". The content was super repetitive. Nothing really beneficial could be taken from it to add to my journaling practice. The chapter I found the most useful was the "Philosophical" section - but it was the shortest one! Some pieces felt like they could have been AI generated because of how repetitive it was.
