I don't normally go for book that are mostly made up of quotes. But I really enjoyed this. I like the categories the quotes are sorted into for each chapter. And I like the order in which those chapters/categories are arranged. It's a really fast, easy read. I chose to read only one chapter a day and give myself the time to reflect. I've taken that approach with other books before and I really like that method of "meditating" on the contents of a book. Many of the quotes are ones we've all heard before and overall it's somewhat generic advice applied to fishing (or rather, fishing analogies used to reiterate generic life advice). But I find that it's beneficial to be reminded of that sort of advice.

Another gift from my fiancée for valentine's day. This is a small pocket sized, easy to read, easy to digest, guide to life. The book is replete with quotes by famous anglers, sportsmen, and personalities about enjoying fishing, learning, lures, patience, conservation, silence, humility, optimism, and gratitude. My favorite quote from the book is from Washington Irving (the author of Rip Van Winkle): "There is certainly something in fishing that tends to produce a gentleness of spirit and a pure sincerity of mind".
