Hiori made me sad, {spoiler} also makes me sad, can't tell if Isagi is delusional or still levelling up, Kaiser is still 100% perfect (I miss Shidou and Sae best duo)

Intensity, Drama, and Emotional Damage (you know the meme)

The INTENSITY!!! The first game wraps up, Isagi is out here going 110%, and the stakes just keep climbing. Before the next match, a great deal of training, strategy, and personal development is undertaken—resulting in some of the most compelling story moments in the series so far. The focus isn’t solely on the action, as this volume is imbued with serious emotional weight, rich character drama, and a deeper exploration of what drives each player forward. And with Italy looming on the horizon, it is certain that things are about to become even wilder.

First off: Hiorin!!! <3<3<3 My precious bby, my sweetest child, my darling angel, my beloved sunshine, my tiny ray of light, my softest baby bird, my innocent little lamb, my delicate flower, my treasured star, my heart’s most tender joy—I just want to hug, kiss, cradle, shield, swaddle, and protect him from the cruel, cruel world!!! But now, with his backstory revealed?? That’s downright cruel. His so-called 'parents' don’t love him—they don’t even see him as a person. To them, he’s nothing more than a trophy, a status symbol to flaunt. Forget living vicariously through their child; these people treat my precious Hiori-chan (uwu <3) as a mere project, a machine to be engineered into a #1-ranked soccer prodigy, nothing more. That hit hard.

Meanwhile, capitalism is being single-handedly drained dry by comrade Reo (our money! ☭), a true revolutionary mind. But the real highlight must be addressed—the way Nagi’s hair is being gently blown dry by Reo, who just openly calls him his treasure. HELLO?!?! At this point, it just needs to be made official. They are already behaving like boyfriends, so a ring should simply be placed on it, and the confirmation we all deserve should be given. The people’s demands must be met!! Yet, I'd like to have a moment to thank the yaoi gods for blessing us with this beautifully shirtless scene in the bath and dressing room. Thank you.

And then—Kaiser. Sir. Excuse me, SIR!! Why are you like this? Full evil mastermind mode in his bathrobe, sipping a martini, patting his proverbial white cat, plotting his next masterful plan to bring about Isagi's downfall, while butler Ness stands there ready to serve. I can’t with this scene! And Ness?? Oh, Ness is fully, 100%, tragically in love with Kaiser, seething with jealousy over all the attention Isagi’s getting. Man is down, man is down bad. The dramatics in this volume were next level, and I gobbled it all up!

This volume had everything—intense action, deep backstories, insane rivalry tension, and more than enough character moments to make my heart explode. Might be my favorite so far.

3.5. Willing to round this up to a 4 but also not really because a certain pairing is cribbed too hard from Kuroo/Kenma and the fujobait is really blatant. Also the classic Isagi Problem ramped up to 11 because he immediately got the play. SNOOZE!!! Anyway... Barou is the best to ever do it which is why I was willing to give this a 4. Alas.

I took a BLLK uQuiz and I got Hiori Yo, my kin! My baby, my child! He deserves nothing but all the love in the world!

l feel like there's not enough brain cells in this volume—nevermind the fantastic plays on the game—because they're all so silly and full of childlike idiocy, I love them silly blorbos! Anyway, Isagi's first goal after three assists, he's an evolution maniac!
