What I thought of The Tempering Agent

As you can see from the synopsis, the concept of this story is fabulous. I loved the idea of a grieving woman working through that grief to find justice for her murdered fiancé as well as the new crimes that seem to be putting her in danger.

Unfortunately, the book didn’t live up to my hopes.

The Tempering Agent opened with a choice of words that made dating the book confusing, but I figured out it was contemporary soon enough. Little things bothered me—things like how Priscilla is a Brit, but she speaks with American syntax and diction. Inconsistencies in behavior and descriptions made things a bit difficult to swallow at times.

However, I have to give her props for usually keeping descriptions interesting, not overloaded, and without info-dumps. Unfortunately, she does have her characters tell stories as if she’s writing them. At those times, there are unusual sentence structures and diction.

I wish that was all.
There is also a bit of repetitive telling, run-on sentences, and a few other editing issues. For those bothered by those things, you won’t be able to miss them. I purchased this book last night, so I’d suggest to the publisher to take another look at it.

The worst part of the book for me, however, was the romance. Now, I don’t usually read books for the romance, but the “Hi, I’m Donnie, and I’m going to flirt with you because I already decided that I like you.” Followed by the, “I’m in love after two meetings” from her… Ugh. It can work. It can. Sometimes “insta-love” is the point of a novel, but if you’re going to do it, just be upfront about it. And she didn’t. She wrote it as if it was normal to do that. And well, it’s not.

I really wanted to love The Tempering Agent, but by the 44% mark, if I hadn’t given my word, I probably wouldn’t have finished it.
For what it’s worth, I’d have missed some of the best parts of the book. A lot of the action was there and exciting, although one of the most exciting events happened off the page.

One of the strongest elements was the spiritual content in the book. Ms. Craine really did make most of her spiritual truths beautifully presented and without too much preachiness. And in one section, there was this little gem of a quote.

"Historically, people have lost kingdoms, lost their lives, or found themselves with nothing left when they try to accomplish their life isolated and alone."

Look, I’ve seen reviews for this book. A lot of people really liked it. A few others, like me, were frustrated by it. So, please. Check out the other reviews. I truly hope you enjoy it more than I did.e than I did.

Not surprisingly, I enjoyed this novel. I love reading books set in exotic locations, and the author did a good job conveying the sounds, smells, tastes of the local food, feel of the desert heat, and a glimpse into the culture. On top of an interesting archaeological suspense story, a sweet romance unfolded that had me hoping for a happy ending for two people who really deserved it. This is the third book in this series that I’ve read and I’m not sure which one I enjoyed the most, so you’ll just have to read all three.

With Priscilla’s wedding plans destroyed by her fiance’s murder, she continues her research in Egypt, digging for antiquities, but locking up the vault of her heart. Three years pass before a clue materializes that might solve the murder and offer Priscilla closure, but it involves a big risk. She must be the bait to catch the perpetrator. That’s when Donnie steps in and tells her to trust him.

The rich details of the archeological dig along with the color of Cairo gave the story fascinating depth. A great read!

What a fun adventure The Tempering Agent was to go on. I have always been fascinated with Egypt and I like movies like Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and the Mummy (the Brendan Fraser one) so I was excited to step into this story. Adventure and dangers abound it seems when searching for buried treasure. Dr. Priscilla Hackling knows that first hand after her fiancé was killed three years previous over an important artifact. Now three years later she is in danger over the same piece and by the same man who supposedly killed him. Put into a rather dangerous position as bait, she relies on Agent Donnie Barnes to help her. Neither one was aware how much their hearts would get involved.

As I was reading, I at first felt that maybe their romance was rushed too quickly. However as I got deeper into the story and their inner thoughts, I felt with the brevity and uncertainty of life, especially since their lives were in danger and that they were in their 30’s, I changed my opinion. At times Donnie pushed too far then not far enough, so I did feel for Priscilla in this seemingly tug of war.

I was very interested in the local of Egypt and I liked how serious Priscilla took her job of uncovering ancient history. Knowing and learning about this world’s history I feel is very relevant to today and I could envision myself on the digs as well. One really unique aspect of this story is at the beginning of each chapter we have descriptions of a different precious gem, its uses, and possible meanings in history. Author Caine is a new author to me and I look forward to more of her work.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

Of course I'd have to start this book in the middle of the series!!! I always end up doing that and as always it ruins the entire series because i have no idea what's going on until about part way!!
I think in a way this book reminds me of Indiana Jones and Romancing the Stone. I can actually hear the music in the background.
I always thought that archaeology digs would be interesting. I also love the setting for this story too.
I do like the authors style of writing and her way of bringing her characters to life. Especially Priscilla.
In some ways I felt sorry for her.
It's tough to lose ppl you care about
I lost my dear mother in 98. I don't think it's something that u ever get over. Sure time heals but you never get over in missing them.
I think Donnie needs a swift kick in the butt!! He doesn't realize what's in front of him.
The book is full of interesting twists and turns that will be sure to keep readers turning the pages. And if you're like me and get engrossed in your reading you might find yourself actually there with the people as their faith hits some rough patches.
However; what I didn't like was the romance part of it. I don't think that you can have a whirlwind romance and expecting to marry the guy in less than whatever time you have known him. It's ridiculous and sometimes it runs the feller off
Don't it usually take some time to know a person before you go to matrimony?
I also had some trouble pronouncing the names in this book.
All in all it was ok. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
I received this book for free from Celebrate lit and no compensations were received

This book had a lot of twists and turns. Every time I thought the mystery was solved it changed a little bit. I really liked the characters of Priscilla and Donnie. It would be fun to read more with Rayhan and his wife Liz. I received this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

The Tempering Agent is a great finish to Victoria Pitts Caine's Christian Romance Adventure series.

We met Donnie in book 1, Alvarado Gold, then got to know him better in book 2, Cairo. The Tempering Agent is all about Donnie and Priscilla, an archaeologist whose fiance was murdered three years ago.

Now, Priscilla is caught in a sting operation to arrest an antiquities trafficking ring. Liz and Rahan from Cairo are back to help.

The Tempering Agent is full of romance, adventure, and suspense. I especially enjoyed the chapter epigrams about different gemstones and precious metals.

Egypt. An exotic location. A mystery to be solved. Ancient artifacts to be found. A heart to be mended.

A contemporary story where Dr. Priscilla Tackling learns to love again.

I was intrigued when I started this story. It was my first time reading something like this or anything similar. I enjoyed the start of each chapter where a jewel was described as to color, origination, etc.

Priscilla never got over her fiance's murder three years ago. It happened right in front of her just days before their wedding. It continued to haunt her and she somewhat felt responsible for his death. She refused to be vulnerable ever again.

Agent Donnie Barnes was brought to assist Dr. Hackling in the murder investigation. They were not expecting the immediate attraction they both felt.

Is it possible for Priscilla to give of herself completely to Donnie? Will they find the killer? Is Priscilla next on the killer's list?

I received this free to review.

Guest post from Vicki Caine
Since childhood, I have been interested in genealogy and ancient Egypt. Two of my prior novels, Alvarado Gold and Cairo, let me follow my fantasies into those two areas. Donnie the hero in The Tempering Agent is also in the other two books, and it was his turn to find his own romance. When archaeologist Dr. Priscilla Hackling finds herself drawn back into the murder investigation of her fiancé and the missing breast plate of the high priest, Agent Donnie Barnes, is just the man to help her out, even if she doesn’t think so.

Traveling along with Priscilla and Donnie, I discovered some interesting facts about ancient Egypt, from the ruins in the Siwa Desert to the mystery of the Valley of the Kings. The genealogy factor in my novels is Donnie is loosely based on my cousin. Alvarado Gold tells the story of my family while Cairo and The Tempering Agent fueled my inquisitiveness about Egypt.

This book was so fun to read. It had suspense, love, action, antiques, dig sites, and artifact trafficking! I'm going to be completely honest, when I saw that this book was about artifact trafficking, I was pretty sure I was going to be bored reading it. It just didn't sound like my thing. But to hear Priscilla talk about her digs, and see her passion for finding artifacts and uncovering the past, it kind of made me want to go on a dig myself. It really changed my perspective about artifact trafficking too, as I didn't really put too much thought into it before. Now? Well, I hope that if it is truly happening out there, and I'm sure it is, someone is doing something about it! Thank you Victoria Pitts Caine for bringing this to light. I don't think it's something that we think of very often.

The story itself was pretty fast paced. I was scared that Priscilla's character would be written as a weak woman after hearing of her fiancée's murder, but I was pleasantly surprised. She held her own pretty good, and had a stubbornness about her that I didn't expect. When Donnie made his move, I half expected her to just melt in his arms. But she really tried not too, as she needed to deal with some things in her past before moving on. I'm glad the author gave her character time to grow and grieve. I don't like it when a romance is forced too soon. Even though I didn't know her fiancée, I would have felt like their story had no closure to it before allowing her to move on with Donnie.

There were some nice surprises that came up throughout the story as well. Some of the characters who were part of the bad team I didn't really think would be involved. I actually thought I had it pegged - the most unobvious choice just because some authors will do that to get you thinking and wondering. I'm glad I was totally wrong - I happened to like that character. Perhaps I've read too many suspense novels! In this sense it's nice to be wrong.

I will say the ending was kind of abrupt - I can't really say why so I don't spoil it for you, but be prepared for wanting the next book to be in your hands real soon. I am excited to see what adventure Priscilla and Donnie go on next. I hope some of the other characters can return as well! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love books that take you to places far away without having to leave your house. Egypt has always been a very intriguing place to me. The author does a superb job of giving us historical facts that make you feel as though you are viewing artifacts right along side the characters. I'm sure many will compare the story to an Indiana Jones adventure and they would be right.

Dr. Priscilla Hackling is about to have an assignment that will remind her of her fiance's death and relive the horrors of that unforgettable time. I felt so bad that she had to be placed in danger for the mission to work. Priscilla is definitely up for the challenge. She wants to see justice served and the killer punished. Her encounter with her partner , the dashing Agent Donnie Barnes doesn't exactly feel all warm and fuzzy at first. The tension between them is just what you would expect from a stubborn woman and a determined agent who is out to solve the crime.

The story takes us into the world of artifacts, gems and secrets people are willing to die for. The action is nonstop and filled with tension. Donnie to me was the star of the book and I soaked in everything about him. He can handle dangerous situations with wisdom and authority. Did he plan to fall for Priscilla along the way? I kept thinking how she tried to pull away from him, but she didn't fool me one bit. When Priscilla becomes victim to the people after the artifacts, I could sense an intensity in Donnie. Can he continue to keep her safe? This is one story that has all the elements of an action packed adventure with characters that are well developed.

One of the things I like the most about the story is the realization Priscilla gets when she finds out friends can turn into enemies. It's one that hurts as she feels defeated. Having to let go of her past is hard, but knowing that you have been betrayed by friends hurts to the core. Learning to let go of past hurt and letting God show you how to find peace is something both Donnie and Priscilla will have to come to turns with. Don't miss this story filled with adventure, history and finding peace

My review is 2.5 Stars

The premise behind the book was interesting. A modern-day Indiana Jones type story. Sadly, it didn’t live up to my expectations.

I liked the overall storyline of the book. The idea of an adventure in Egypt while tracking down stolen artifacts is intriguing to me. There was a spiritual element to the book, while not overt, which was done well.

Each chapter started with a fact about a gemstone. That was a nice touch that I appreciated. I was sad to find out, however, that the white topaz earrings I purchased in South Africa are pretty much only valuable for the memories they give me of that trip. Alas! At least I’m not surprised by learning that.

The romance in the story just didn’t make sense to me. Donnie had just met Priscilla and was all of a sudden desperately in love with her. What? While I’ve read stories that have a similarly short time between the meeting and the infatuation where it works, it just didn’t in this book. Priscilla went from mourning her fiancé who was killed three years earlier to being so in love after two days. Again, what?

There were some other things that also bothered me. Priscilla was a Brit, and yet she spoke and acted like an American. There were elements of the mystery that didn’t make sense and there were parts of the story that seemed incomplete. While there was talk of action and adventure, it was more spoken of than experienced.

The language used was also distracting to me. Word choices were made that were wrong for the context and there were turns of phrases that were awkward. This wasn’t just a situation of typos that weren’t caught, it was more like the author was trying to use fancier sounding words and the ones she used didn’t mean what she thought they did. I do wish the editors had caught these things.

Despite my opinion, many others have liked this story as evidenced by the 56 reviewers on Amazon who gave the book an average of 4.3 stars.

My Penny's worth
The impossible love of the main characters Priscilla and Donnie dances around a plot that has intrigue flowing through it. Both are on a dangerous mission, and I enjoyed Ms Caine’s writing as she wove the action from dig to romance to jeopardy.

As storylines go, this held me even though the pace seemed to be a bit quick especially with regards to overcoming the past and the possibility of moving on. Consequently, this appeared too neat and not messy enough for me. In fact, I wanted to feel the battle and walk alongside the pain, empathising with the struggle. Would Priscilla just give up?

What I liked
I liked the little gems and twists along the way to keep you guessing as to whom the villains were. But could Donnie protect a woman whose independence had got her to where she was today?

Rayhan and Liz I felt were good supporting characters and added to the story. From the descriptions, I could see, smell, taste and hear the action along with the food and personal relationships.

Cheerio?
One little curiosity I had, why the word “Cheerio” for a greeting? Priscilla’s father, who is English, uses this when he answers the phone. I have not heard it used like this before – yes a minor issue I know, but being English, I just wondered.

This book can be read alone and indeed I haven't read the first two but not knowing the history of the other characters didn't actually matter.

Some teasers
In the final analysis what will happen to this impossible love between Priscilla and Donnie? Who are the villains? And what does a pansy have to do with anything? For the answers, you will need to read the book.

What would I rate it?
I did enjoy the book and would like to give it four stars.

Thank you, Victori Pitts Caine for writing it.

This is the first book by Victoria Pitts-Caine that I have read. It is a surprisingly fast-paced book, filled with twists to the somewhat suspenseful who-done-it plot and a good deal of action. The title of the book is very clever (and you'll have to read the book to find out why). The plot and its premise are both intriguing and fun. And as for the characters....who doesn't like a strong female archeologist and a strong male law enforcement/Indiana Jones-type?

Priscilla, a respected archeologist, and Donnie, an agent working for the Egyptian government, are thrown together to bait and capture an Egyptian artifact trafficker who may also have been Priscilla's deceased fiancé's murderer. Priscilla is a Brit who has done much of her life in Egypt and Donnie is an American who has been transplanted to Egypt for the last few years (I haven't read Cairo but apparently that's the first book in the series that explains Donnie and the friends he shares with Priscilla). Priscilla is still grieving her loss and needs to find her way out from that dark place. Donnie tries to help but their relationship starts out rocky and tumbles like a rollercoaster ride for most of the book. Their romance is kind of fast but love at first sight happens, right?
I really appreciated the strong current of faith and trust in this book. Priscilla has a hard time letting go of her past and her fears stemming from her past. God gently and slowly works on her heart and also allows others to surround that broken heart so that healing can occur.

I have a mixed reaction to The Tempering Agent. This is the first Victoria Pitts-Caine book I read, and I enjoyed it enough to want to read the others in this series. The cover captured the essence of the series and the genre, and I was drawn into the story almost immediately. What I wasn’t crazy about – the relationship between Priscilla and Donnie developed too quickly for my taste, and when they were each struggling with whether to pursue the other person, most of what came to mind was memories of kisses and physical attraction. In addition, Priscilla is a British citizen, yet her word usage and mannerisms seem American. The few British references were cliché: greeting each other with “cheerio” and lots of tea drinking. The author seems more comfortable conveying Egyptian and Middle Eastern dialect, mannerisms, and customs and have obviously either done lots of research or had personal experience. Information about archaeology, digs, history, and government oversight is interesting and well-presented, sprinkled throughout rather than dumped onto the reader. The suspense and intrigue steadily increases as the book progresses to the point that I wasn’t sure who to trust, and I began to see “bad guys” in every corner. I loved that! The action sequences are exciting, and kept me reading. Each chapter heading includes information about a gemstone which I found very interesting, but the reference during a conversation to “the tempering agent” felt forced and dropped into the story as if to justify the book’s title.

Will the pursuit of justice cost them everything?

Around the time most girls wanted to become fashion designers I wanted to be an archaeologist. And that's what really attracted me to The Tempering Agent, the heroine is an archaeologist in Egypt. Talk about some amazing history and a totally exotic location! Toss in plenty of suspense and romance and you get a book that I wanted to read.

As a rockhound myself, I think my absolute favorite part of The Tempering Agent is how, author Victoria Pitts Caine chose to head each chapter with some great tidbits of information on gemstones and metals, all related to one key artifact in the story.

I first read this book a couple of years ago in print, and, with everything going on in the world right now I have plenty of time on my hands, so when I got my chance at it in audiobook I jumped at it. The sound and production quality were very good and the narrator had an easy to listen to voice, but, and this is my only negative, the narrator's attempts at English and Egyptian accents were not the best.

Whether in print or in audio Victoria Pitts Caine delivers a simple, easy reading or listenening, story packed with danger, intrigue, romance, and betrayal. It's also the story of a girl trying to find her way through grief and back into a life of faith and love.

I enjoyed my little jaunt into Egypt and the thrilling world of archaeology and antiquities...

This is a terrific story of suspense! I love the setting – in Egypt, at an archeological dig. The main character, Priscilla, is captivating.

When her fiancee was killed at a dig, almost on the eve of their wedding, and then she was given no answers, felt no resolution, Priscilla’s life was almost unbearable. She did not know how to go on. When this story starts, the local law enforcement come to her, telling her that they’ve made contact with the suspected killer, and they’ve just set her up as his bait! What?! Yes! This story just takes off with a bang!

Can she finally move on with her life? And then she meets Agent Donnie Barnes. They are immediately attracted to each other (The one thing that felt a bit unrealistic to me was the speed at which the romance progressed. Falling in love a few hours after meeting? Does this really happen?!)

This is a very well written, suspenseful story. I look forward to reading the others in the series. And although this is in the middle of a series, it does work well as a stand-alone novel.

Three years after her fiancé, Trey Whittington's death, Dr. Priscilla Hackling is still struggling to move on. Things become harder for her when his case is reopened. Priscilla is working with the police to uncover the murderer who they suspect is Zarka El-Din. She travels to Siwa with Agent Donnie Barnes to perform a sting operation to catch the criminals, but she finds herself drawn to Donnie. However, she is unable to overcome her personal past experience. Will Donnie, and Priscilla be able to find a happily ever after?

I found the novel to be an interesting read but I found the story to be a bit rushed. The main characters fell in love so quickly after a few back and forth of not trusting each other. I also found that Priscilla's character to be a bit annoying that she wants Donnie but pushes him away but then expects to follow around like a lost puppy even though she doesn't want a relationship. I thought that the story would be more focused on finding the killer and having actual detective work involved but it was mostly focused on their relationship while the hunt for the killer was more of an afterthought. I would read the second novel if the plot was a bit more developed along with strong character developments.

My Review

My Rating: 4 and 1/2 Stars.

Recommendation: 13 and up some parts were a little violent.

My favorite character/s: Priscilla is a character you will feel bad for, she is trying to move on from the death of her fiancé. I enjoyed how she and Donnie acted together. In all Priscilla is a favorite. I would have liked to see more of her Father though.

Donnie is a great guy, I love how he’d bait Priscilla, both Priscilla and Donnie are stubborn.

My Verse for Priscilla is Psalm 31:9
Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

My Verse for Donnie is Psalm 25:1

Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

My thoughts

I liked the Miss Caine's writing style, The Tempering Agent was the first book I’ve read by Victoria Caine, I look forward to reading more books by this author. It was interesting reading a book about archaeologists exploring ruins and looking for artifacts.

I received this book from Celebrate Lit in exchange for my honest review and the thoughts are my own.

The story was choppy but the plot was there. Priscilla is used as bait for catching the person who murdered her fiancé three years ago. The narrator wasn’t bad but the accents weren’t the greatest. The overt Christian approaches throughout the book, while good intentioned, were off putting in that I was drawn to this book because I love archeology (the tidbits about various minerals at the beginning of each chapter were cool), not because I wanted to be preached to about “giving/releasing things to God” “trusting God’s plan” along with talks of faith and bible verses and stories mingled with history. The overt Christian approach took up close to 1/3 of the whole book. The cheesy rushed attraction/romance came off a bit fake-hallmark. Cains did a good job on making things suspenseful. Parents: the language is clean, there’s no sex/nudity, just kissing.

The tempering Agent

By the cover I thought if may have been an historical book but when started reading I did realize it was not. The story is set in Egypt. Priscilla is still grieving three years later after her fiancée was murdered. She is ask to work with the police to find the murderer. She needs someone to help her, Donnie is suggested by a friend. They are attracted to each other but she still cannot get over her fiancé death. Will she be able to overcome? There is some adventure in the book with trying to catch the killer. Enjoyed their friends that had the small children. The artifacts was interesting. I received an complementary copy of the book from the author through Celebrate Lit.

With a swift pace, fascinating gemology, intriguing locale and fraught with cross and double-cross The Tempering Agent is a sure-fire winner of a read! An excellent (and well explained) title is part of the mystique of this well-written and hard to put down tale. A considerate, but not over the top, Christian faith message carries throughout and surely balances the mix of cultures, histories and legends.

Victoria Pitts Caine has done an exemplary job of continuing the tension, drama and intrigue begun in her previous novel Cairo. Both highly worthy reads by this accomplished author!

My Review
The Tempering Agent is #3 in a series. I have not read the previous books but that didn't hinder me in the reading of this book, but you might want to go back and start with #1. Some of the main characters in this story are Donnie, Priscilla, Rahan, and Liz. This is the first book that I have read by this author. The writing style of this book was nice . Priscilla is a woman that is still dealing with the grief from her fiance's death. Donnie I found to be kind of irritating . This story is full of romance, suspense, and lots of adventure. This was an enjoyable read. Disclaimer : I was given a complimentary copy of this book but all thoughts and opinions are my honest ones.

I do love a good murder investigation. This book has a trap, bait, Eygpt, antiquities, desert sands, suspense, and mystery! It also has a romance and I appear to have dropped into this in the middle of one superb series. Why haven't I heard of this series or author before? I don't know but now I want more! It does have a bit of "insta-love" but the characters might have more history I missed in the other books. Overall I find it to be thrilled, and a very enjoyable read. It reminds me of some of my very favorite older movies.

My copy came from Celebrate Lit. This review is my own, my thoughts, my opinions and left of my own free will.

This is story that I could see go one in my mind, beyond the final pages. I think there is a possibility for more and of course that is wishful thinking that this dynamic duo would solve some more mysteries and find more history (did you see what I did there?). I loved the overall story and truly adored the characters.

Egyptian Intrigue

Based on a dig that went horribly bad three years earlier when her fiancé was killed, things begin to heat up when Priscilla must travel to a far dig in Siwa and leave her assistant behind to handle their present project and close to his very pregnant wife. He sends along his friend Donnie that had accompanied Rayhan's wife, Liz out to Egypt previously,in another book Cairo.
Priscilla and Rayhan had been below when Trey had carried the breastplate up to secure it. Priscilla sent Rayhan up and was finishing packing up tools when she heard a gun shot and ran to the ladder. Stepping off she found Trey dead and the breastplate missing. Three years later she is again called up a ladder to police shutting down the dig and demanding she accompany them to the police station. Instead of being accused of murder, the breastplate has been discovered and the police have sent out word to a deadly smuggler hiding in Siwa that she has the breastplate and is coming to join a dig in Siwa. Thus begins the Christian Romance Adventures of Donnie and Priscilla and what a ride it is.Very intriguing and enjoyable romance in good clear writing.

"The "Tempering Agent" by Victoria Pitts Caine is a really good book about mystery and finding love and betrayal. The characters are in other books by the author but I didn't realize that until I read the guest post from the author on the blog tour. I usually have to read the books in order to get the whole story but this book was easy enough to follow and a complete read, like I previously posted I had no idea they characters were in other stories, but now that I know I have added them to my to be read list.

This story shows that when something tragic happens to you, you need to take time to grieve and heal. It is also a story of good people going bad, a fact that is sad, but that happens all too much.

I really enjoyed reading all the twists and turns these characters find themselves in while trying to capture the thieves of the artifacts.

I kept trying to figure out the guilty person or persons and really had no clue until the book actually revealed them.

I was given a complimentary copy by the author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.

I rather like this authors writing style. And the idea of the book isn't horrible.
But the logic in parts is lacking.
Worst for me (and honestly I rarely give 1-star ratings) ...who on earth falls in love in less than 48 hours? It was absurd. Full grown professionals, not even getting along for the most part suddenly fall in love.
I actually think I made it to 61% before I threw up my hands and couldn't take anymore. And I'm one to stick with books to the end to prove to myself that it wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Not good, and wouldn't recommend it.

The last book in the trilogy did NOT disappoint. The author weaves such strength into her characters that the reader is captivated from beginning to end. The story line and intriguing elements leave the reader breathless for more. Absolutely cannot wait to read more from this author!
