Okay this is a weird one. I was really wavering between 2.5-3 stars but I'm settling at 3.
This story follows high school seniors as they have to complete a "marriage practical". When awkward, anti-social Jiro gets paired with pretty, carefree Akari and they find out their crushes are paired together, they make a promise to get a high enough score to change partners and be with their crushes. But when pretending to be in love starts to turn into real feelings, what does their future hold?
The premise of this is interesting. I really really like Akari. She is a lot deeper than she seems at first. On the otherhand, I have some conflicting feelings for Jiro. He is way too wishy-washy and it took him close to 50 chapters before he started acting right. Honestly the last 20 chapters are so are what raised my star rating. Shiori is the rival female romance, and she's been in love with Jiro since middle school and Jiro loved her since then as well. Throughout the story, Jiro kept flipping back and forth between Shiori and Akari. He'd have a special moment with Akari, and a few panels later he'd be blushing over Shiori and it was like her completely forgot about Akari. When he FINALLY gets his shit together, the story gets immensely better. On the other hand, Minami is the rival male romance, and he is an amazing character. He truly is a great person and it was so nice when Akari and him were straightforward with each other. I really enjoy his character.
Now the ONE REASON I don't think I would ever recommend this is the fucking art. This manga is a romance, slice of life romance, written by a female mangaka, yet THERE IS SO MUCH FAN SERVICE. Seriously, some of the panels could be straight out of hentai (whip cream face, I'm talking about you). There were so many giant boob shots, underwear shots, just so bad. Like, if this is aimed at a female audience for being a romance, why is the art so geared towards males? It was gross and objectifying and I really hate that the author resorted to that. This manga stands great on its own, and if the weird sexual shots would have been turned down, this would definitely have gotten a 4 star rating from me.
Overall, I like the premise of the story. I hated the love triangle between Jiro, Akari, and Shiori, and the story was immensely better once it was resolved. I'm looking forward to reading more and can't wait to see the relationship between Jiro and Akari develop.
While it didn't blow my mind, the entire time I had an enjoyable time reading this.
Basically the plot is so far fetched but fun none the less. They pair two high schoolers to live together, to be husband and wife, and we just go along with it. The two main leads who get together are complete opposites, and although the girl acts like hot shit, and above the nerd, she really loves him. But he loves his childhood friend. Sound cliche? It is. The characters though are charming, and if it didn't rely on being overly sexual moments (lots of sweat, boobs coming out, ass shots so often it becomes less exciting) I think it could have been better/more endearing.
I'll still check out book 2. This one is between a 3 and a 3.5.
this premise was SO OVERLY RIDICULOUS for high school students that I could barely take it seriously lol. that coupled with a bunch of slut-shaming thoughts and some hypocritical behavior and the end (the audacity of jiro to get jealous/start a fight over a kissing rumor, only for him to literally kiss another girl) made this one a solid 'meh' for me. will not continue the series though it was entertaining!

I really enjoyed this one, a cute fun story. A teeny bit of fan service but nothing extreme or that took away from the story. Read because I watched the anime and watched to continue. Loved the anime, manga was good but not special
I feel like a pervy teenage boy reading this and I needed to add an ad blocker to my ipad because the ads were horrifying. BUT..... I love akari so much. I need her to be forever happy
I thought this manga was great. It had that romance portion which I loved and it had little bita of build up that kept you wanting more. Fast read because you just want to know what happens next
