Truth is the rarest masterpiece. When a killer murders a prominent art dealer following the unveiling of a famous, but cursed, painting, Detectives Daniels and Remalla are assigned to investigate.
Thrown into the unfamiliar, high-stakes and often ruthless business of the art world, they’ll call in another detective to assist. Working together, they’ll reveal an array of unusual suspects, including a vengeful ex-lover and her mobster husband, a betrayed girlfriend from the past, a determined female rival, and an ambitious former art manager. But the biggest threat could be the painting itself, whose supposed curse has taken the lives of all its previous owners.
As the detectives dig deeper, the stakes are raised when their own lives are threatened, another life is lost, and shocking secrets are revealed. And when the clues point to the answers they seek, they’ll find that a curse may prove to be more deadly than a killer, and they may be the next targets.
Murder Unveiled is a standalone and prequel to Haunted River, book one in the Detectives Daniels and Remalla series. If you love complex murder plots, a variety of troubled and odd characters, staying up late to solve the mystery, and two detectives whose friendship and banter are at the heart of the story, then enjoy Murder Unveiled.
Award-winning author, J.T. Bishop, is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.
She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.
All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

Wow! I was already a fan of Daniels & Remalla but this book just made them my all time favorite detective characters. This author has such a talent for making the reader feel like they're right there in the story. I feel like I could have a cup of coffee and a taco del Fuego with these guys! 😁
Escape and adventure wrapped up with a bow Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024 Remalla and Daniels are unequivocally my favorite characters in any book/series I've ever read. They are tough yet caring, serious yet funny, goofy yet smart and empathetic to each other and others, not to mention just great guys who help others through hard life places. They are friends for life and navigate through the tough stuff together. This book had so many suspects that I could not land on one as the ultimate culprit, but I had a blast trying! J.T. tells a complicated story such that it is simple enough to keep track of the labyrinth of rabbit holes! (I mean that in a good way.) (I'm not even sure that's a thing.) I highly recommend this book and every last one in the series. Totally worth losing sleep for!
Murder Unveiled: A Murder Mystery Thriller (Detectives Daniels and Remalla), my thirteenth read from author J.T. Bishop. This 391-page crime thriller continues building on characters introduced in earlier works was well-crafted, & flowed smoothly & quickly,. “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author, Lost Hope: A Paranormal P.I. Mystery Thriller (The Redstone Chronicles Book 4)is next on my TBR list as I continue to sort out how the Daniels and Remalla and Redstone Chronicles series intertwine. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Detectives Daniels and Remalla have a new case. A killer murders an art dealer. The get help from Phoebe Reinart, a detective from another precinct because she is an art expert. I like how Daniels and Ramella work together. They’re a great team. The case gets all twisty as the hunt down the killer through a series of different leads. There is danger and suspense. I really enjoyed the book, as I have with other books by JT Bishop. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The story begins with Laroche, an art dealer, giving a party to unveil his latest acquisition, The Crimson Tiger. After the unveiling, he sends all of the guest out of the gallery room while he remained. Dominique was waiting outside of the gallery room so that she could clean it. When she entered, she found Larouche dead.
Shortly both Rem and Daniels were called to the scene. They then began their investigation by talking to the staff and guests. That morning, they learned that they would have an additional person, Phoebe Reinart, a detective from another precinct as well as an art expert. As began question potential suspects, they began to narrow a list down to those that were probably responsible. As the case continued, the three escaped death as the result of a car accident.
As time went by, it was time for the reading of the will. All of the beneficiaries showed up with the exception of Victoria, Laroche's daughter. They later discovered that Victoria had been killed in an accident similar to the one they were in. Parts of the puzzle finally began filling in the holes.
To discover who the killer was, what caused the accidents and how everything worked out in the end, then you need to read this book You won't be disappointed and the ending is worth it.
This kindle e-book novel is from my Kindle Unlimited a stand alone book
Daniels and Remalla are involved in the investigation of murder of an art collector. Then they are almost murdered when someone cuts their brakes. Another murder. They uncover the truth leading to a happy ending.
I would recommend this novel and author to readers of mystery novels. 2024
Once again J.T. Bishop does it again. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I finished it in less than a day. I absolutely love Daniels and Remalla. Their partnership and friendship are beautiful. I highly recommend this book along with her other stories. She is one of my top three favorite authors.
Murder Unveiled was another fun ride with detectives Remala and Daniels. It took ace in their early years together and it was fun to learn more about how the team came to be. The mystery was a doozie, but as always they worked together to solve it in the way only they can! A must read in the Daniels and Remalla series!
The owner of an expensive painting is murdered at the unveiling of the painting. Detectives Daniels and Remalla get help from another detective to investigate the murder. Rowan Laroche's partner is out on leave, so she is assigned to help Rem and Daniels. A number of suspects, brakes cut on two vehicles and an exciting conclusion to find the culprits.
Wow, this one took some solving. Myriads of suspects and no leads, what will they do now. I loved it. Couldn’t stop reading till I’d finished it. To an ending I have to say that was another one that i didn’t see coming, at all. Cannot wait for the next one. Highly recommended.
Full of suspense and secrets to keep you reading. Detectives Daniels and Remalla try to solve a crime. Will they be able to discover what happened quickly before another crime happens. As always, not to be missed.
When I first started reading this story, I didn't know if I would able to get into it ! But, I'm glad I stuck with it ,totally enjoyed the story ! It keeps you guessing at "who done it "! Couldn't wait to start the next book in the series!
This story was a great mystery to solve and a nice prequel to their series. There are a lot of twists and turns. Some things I did not see coming until the end. Another great read.
Two uniquely different detectives join with yet another original detective. Art and the art world collide with death, deception, and one-up-manship. Outside help and odd characters round out a great who-done-it. Like fresh paint this story gets a little sticky.
Another solid entry in the Daniels and Remalla series, this time it's a very well plotted prequel that pits our favourite detectives sleuthing abilities against a ruthless killer and immerses them in the world of fine art.
I love this pair of detectives. The relationship between them and the snarky banter they share puts me in mind of Starsky & Hutch (Ask your parents)
