description

Of Happiness is the conclusion to the prequel, In Pursuit. Taking place right after Eddi tearfully walks away from Harris in the middle of Chicago square, we pick up right where that left off.

After the lying debacle of Claire, Eddie is still trying to pick up the pieces. She takes refuge in her estranged father and they slowly start to rebuild a relationship with one another.

That's not to say that Harris isn't done with her yet...FAR FROM IT and he'll do ANYTHING to get her back...

As Eddie tries to regain what's left of her broken heart and career, we learn some some interesting tidbits about the evil troll (*a.k.a Claire*) and Harris' deceased brother, the mysterious Cooper.

Can, Harris be able to win back his girl? What with riveting obstacles and disturbing revelations in their way, can these two find happiness in the darkness that threatens to pull them away?

Read and you will find out!

My thoughts: Over all, I really liked this read. It was fast, easy, and steamy. The only part that made it lose a star for me was Claire and a sprinkle of Jared. While we do get from book one that she's psychotic and mentally unstable, I still had some hope that she'd have some form of redemption for her actions. I mean, we do learn why she is the way she is, but all I really took from it was that she was a deceitful and hurtful spite who ended up being traumatized and went completely off the rails from reality after a devastating event. Nothing really to redeem her for her manipulative and blackmailing ways. *sighs*

And Jared, I still in a way don't get his involvement in the story although I do at the same time. To me though, he just didn't make impact and was not needed really and completely unnecessary. Claire was enough PERIOD.

On the bright side...

As for Harris and Eddie, I still ♥ them!! So cute and sexy!!

Ms. Luck does a great job of bringing this book around full circle with baby steps between: Eddie and her dad, her BFF Sarah, her quirky relationship with her gay bestie Sean and his boyfriend Luke (whom I also both ♥ to death!), and the love of her life, Harris♥♡.

A lovely, lovely end to this two part series!! I hope to read more from Ms. Olivia Luck in the future!!

☆ ☆ ☆☆ ☆ 4.5 In Pursuit of Happiness Stars ☆ ☆ ☆☆ ☆

OfHappiness_1

Of Happiness is the conclusion of the Pursuit series. The million dollar question that readers want to know is: Will Harris and Edith get their HEA? In their pursuit of happiness, Harris and Edith relationship are put to an ultimate test of trust and love. Will family secrets destroy them or will Harris and Edith alone destroy their own chance of happiness?

Harris Grant has lived a life full of guilt, sadness and family obligation but meeting Edith Neff changed that. For the first time in his life, Harris felt alive and begins to open up his heart. New life, purpose, happiness and love begins to seep into his pores all because of Edith. She changed and ruined him for any other woman. In Of Happiness, Harris must grovel and earn back the love of his life. In his pursuit, who will he put first: his sister, Claire or the love of his life, Edith.

Olivia Luck did a great job in wrapping up the Harris and Edith conclusion. Ms. Luck dives into the many twist and turns of this rollercoaster relationship. I know readers hated Claire but a part of me wanted her to get redemption given the fact that suffered a traumatic event that altered and changed her. Claire needed help and a part of me wanted to see her redeem herself since the Grant family already suffered enough. Overall, I enjoyed reading this series. It had all the elements I love in a book. It had angst, suspense, romance, love, family, friendship and of course steam. Thank you Ms. Luck for introducing us to handsome, hunky, hot Harris. ←-- Olivia, do you see what you started.. I told you I became alliteration obsessed. <3

4.5 Stars!

Of Happiness picks up right where In Pursuit left off, with many readers wonder what will happen next for Eddie & Harris? Will they get their happy ever after? Would Eddie even take him back? And when will someone put Claire in her place?! There were so many questions running through my head when I started Of Happiness and Olivia managed to answer every single one of them! When it sadly came to an end there wasn’t a single part of me that felt certain plot twists were left unresolved, yep, she’s THAT good!

This was an epic conclusion to Harris and Eddie. Ms. Luck truly takes you through the roller-costar of emotions throughout this book. We experience Eddie trying to mend her broken heart and put all the pieces back together, but we also get to see how determined Harris is to get her back and he’ll let nothing get in the way of the woman he loves. But of course, Claire is still in the picture, so we know that Harris and Eddie’s road to happiness won’t be an easy one. But how much can Eddie take? How much is too much? You really need to pick up this book to find out ;).

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Of Happiness picks up right where In Pursuit left off. Edith (Eddie) and and Harris are left in shambles as lies, betrayals, and family have forced them apart. Hearts are broken. This epic conclusion was beyond amazing. It was heartfelt, emotional, and you WILL swoon.

Harris Grant. My love for you has never wavered. In fact, my love and admiration for his character grew stronger. Plagued with a life and sadness, guilt, and responsibility, Harris has coasted through life. It's not until he meets Eddie that life is worth living again. She brings him light. When unforeseen circumstances drive them apart, what does he do? He fights. He fights for love. For true happiness. For Eddie. This is the first time in life he goes after what he wants. The first time he puts his happiness before others. And it is beautiful.

"I am yours and you are mine."

If you loved In Pursuit, you will absolutely love Of Happiness. Without spoiling the story, I will say it is so much more than two people getting back together. It's a journey where two people irrevocably in love fight there way through obstacles to be happy. It is the idea of not knowing love, but wanting it in their lives more than ever. Eddie and Harris do not know love. They know heartache and pain. Yet, they find solace within each other. Harris? He is THE knight in shining armor. He goes after his lady. He is chivalrous. Classy. Just all out wonderful.

"Baby, when two people fit together as well as we do, time becomes irrelevant. There's not one compelling reason to keep us apart. We're meant to be side by side..."

The genuine connection between Harris and Eddie is just one of the many reasons why I enjoy this series. They just fit. They are meant to be together. There is no denying that. The author has a serious talent in character building. Her writing effortless, her storytelling keeps you intrigued. You are left wanting more with every page. I am sad to say goodbye to these characters, however I am secretly hoping (BEGGING!) for more Eddie and Harris!

Overall, Of Happiness brings the romance and the sexy. It is well written and is the perfect ending to this story. The ups and downs endured by Eddie and Harris are worth it. You fight for who you love. Above all things, you choose love. Love is a powerful thing. This book attests to that.

Of Happiness is the conclusion to Edith and Harris' story from In Pursuit. Being left with many unanswered questions and revelations I was looking forward to this book. Edith and Harris were finally getting somewhere and I couldn't have been happier at the time. I loved being thrown right back into their story with this book. I was already itching to see where Olivia was going to take us with book two. The book gave me everything I was hoping for and maybe a little more. I was proud of the characters transformation throughout the book. A sweet, tender love story with a few jaw dropping twists to keep you reading till the very end.

Edith is reeling from the confrontation and betrayal she just experienced. More confused than ever and the sudden reappearance of her estranged father has thrown her for an even bigger loop. Now Harris wants Edith back. Will she be able to trust that he will be there for her? Or will his sister's influence finally destroy everything they have built.

I can say that as conclusions Of Happiness answers all your unanswered questions. I felt that we really got to know the sin the second book. Almost as if the first book In pursuit was more of a pre-cursor to the heart of the actual story. We experience a lot with these characters and I couldn't ask for a better ending then what we were given.

Harris and Edith moved quite quickly with their relationship . I couldn't help but feel that Edith was way too forgiving. Saying that this series had a unique appeal. I enjoyed these books and Of Happiness was a great book to end Harris and Edith's story.

Of Happiness picks up right where we are left at the end of In Pursuit. Eddie has walked away from a situation that is tearing her apart, but she knows that she needs to. Harrison knows that he screwed up royally, and makes it his mission to make it up to Eddie and regain her trust and affection. Harris isn't the only person working to get into Eddie's good graces. Her father has shown up and is attempting to atone for his years of emotional distance from his daughter. While Eddie and Harrison are working through their own issues, everything is made more challenging when it is clear that someone is working against them.

One thing I loved about this book was Eddie's trust in herself and strength to stand up for her own needs and those of the people she cares about. Watching Eddie and Harrison really talking and working through the issues that have made their relationship challenging rather than ignoring them and just focusing on their intense physical connection was really rewarding. We are definitely presented with some unexpected information in this book that sheds a whole other level of dysfunction to one of the main story lines. Eddie and Harrison continue to have smoking hot chemistry with one another. Getting to experience both of them reconnecting with family and good friends was fantastic and made the really challenging issues easier to bear. I would definitely read more by this author in the future.

First of all, thank you Olivia for not making me wait too long to get to the conclusion of the love story of Edith and Harris. They became one of my favorite book couples instantly. When I finished In Pursuit, I was literally biting my nails and full of angst. Cliffhangers will do that to me.

Of Happiness picked up right where In Pursuit ended. There was no guessing and the well written story flowed naturally. I loved how you addressed and intertwined the themes of love, friendship and family. You answered all those lingering questions about Harris and Edith's relationship. Claire, Cooper, Jared and Edith's father all get their balance of story time as well. Sean and Luke continue to be my favorite friends and I loved how their supporting roles in the story were so significant to Edith and Harris.

Just as in your debut, Of Happiness continued with the witty and fun writing style I came to enjoy so much. Again, your use of alliterations always made me smile.

There were moments of angst, love and many revelations along the way. Perfectly blended, you kept me on edge and interested throughout the book.

Your love scenes were ultra romantic and had just the right amount of steamy. The chemistry between Harris and Edith is definitely strong.

I recommend this book along with its debut prequel. The two books make up a beautiful love story from the very start to finish.

I gave this book 4 Stars!

I look forward to reading more of Olivia's writing soon!

I received and ARC from the author.

BEFORE YOU READ THIS REVIEW: This is book #2... Read In Pursuit before reading this one. Or else you're going to be coming in at a time in the storyline when it won't make any sense.

Edith Neff is devastated. Her roommate turned out to be a conniving little witch. And her roommates brother used to be her lover, but now that's all been obliterated to dust. With no where to go, it's time for Edith to finally figure out where she belongs and who she belongs with. Does she go home or does she stay to work out her life with Harris Grant. The man who stood by while her ex-roommate berated her?

I liked this book a lot. My only complaint is that Edith kept saying in her inner dialogue that she isn't an open person and she doesn't like to share a lot about herself, yet she did that a lot. She asked for advice and told people her feelings, so that threw me off a bit.

"We are worthy of each other."

"I'm starting to understand that."

Overall, I'm giving this book 3.5 STARS out of 5 STARS

Of Happiness picks up right where In Pursuit leaves off with Eddie running out in tears due to Claire's lies and into the arms of her father. Up until now Eddie doesn't have the most loving relationship with her father, but he shows up at the right time and is there for his daughter when she desperately needs it along with her gay bestie Sean whom I LOVE to death. To say that Harris is done fighting for his relationship with Eddie is a huge understatement. He is going to fight tooth and nail to win her back. I personally think that is one of his sexiest qualities. I mean really who doesn't love a man who fights for what he wants right? Needless to say, he has some tough battles to get through especially with his crazy sister at the helm of it all. I really love how the author totally made this story so believable. It could happen to anyone. I think that is what made me love this story even more. The characters, the story, the steaminess, and even the crazy were all so relatable. I think you will find that every single person in this book has a meaning for being in it. They weren't just characters to fill up space. They all actually played a part and it was fantastic. The conclusion was a little surprising I must say. I didn't see certain things happen which I will not go into because I don't want to give anything away. All in all this series is a must read!!! It is definitely one I will reread at some point. Great job Ms. Luck!! I look forward to reading anything you publish in the future!! This one is definitely a 5 Star for me!!!!

**Reviewed on Behalf of Give Me Books**

The book started with Edith trying to mend her broken heart, with the help of her estranged father. Even though she was trying to pick up the pieces of what's left of her heart, she was hoping to fix what was wrong with her and Harris. What she didn't know was Harris also wanted her back and he will stop at nothing to get her back. He knows he messed up and he will right all the wrongs, as long as Edith gives him another chance.

On the way to re-building their relationship, Harris's psychotic sister Claire once again tries to drive a wedge between Harris and Edith. Claire tried with all her diabolical plans and this time with the help of Edith equally psycho ex-boyfriend Jared. Both will do anything and everything to break those two apart, no matter what the cost. Claire wants Edith out of her and Harris's life and Jared wants Edith back.

Will their love survive? Read and find out.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked Edith and Harris, they were a very cute couple. I love the strong woman that Edith was, who always knew what she wanted. The same goes with Harris, he was a very strong man that knew what he wanted. He was sweet, understanding, protective, handsome and very much in love with Edith.

I also really enjoyed Edith friends Luke and Sean, they were very sweet and caring to both Edith and Harris.

I can't wait to read what Olivia has in store for us next. ;)

If you read In Pursuit, then I am sure you were like me and was dying to get their hands on Of Happiness. Book 2 in the series did not disappoint. This book picks up with Edith a mess. Luckily for her, her dad has realized he needs to be a better father and swoops in at the right time. He is helping to take care of Edith. She needs someone. It was touching to see Edith and her dad repair their strained relationship. Edith needs him more then ever after what she has been through.

After the disaster with Harris and his sister, Claire, Edith is beyond heartbroken. Her whole life seems to be in shambles. Everything is intertwined with Harris and his family, Her job, her housing, he friends. Edith is a crying mess, and who can blame her? She is not sure where to go and what to do from here.

Harris knows he has messed up. Big Time. He should have never let things go down they way they did. He is planning on doing whatever it takes to win Edith back. He wants a forever with her. It is sweet to see the lengths he will go to, to win Edith back...

Just when everything seems to be smooth sailing.... Claire (the lunatic sister) completely looses her mind and puts Edith's life in danger. Claire is doing whatever she can to keep Harris and Edith apart. She is not a rational person anymore. She has gone off the deep end!

This book had both romance and suspense. It was a good combination! I enjoyed this series.

Ahhhhhhh... Of Happiness did not disappoint. Harris and Edith are amazing in this book.

Edith becomes the fully loved and strong person she was meant to be. She knows she is in love with Harris but will never accept not being his first priority and if she has to walk away she will.

Harris is learning to be the man Edith deserves. He is going to win her heart and show her how she is all he needs to survive.

Edith's dad comes back into her life when she needs him most. Can he now be the father he should have been years ago? Will he help her figure out her future and if that future includes Harris?

Will Claire, Harris' moody and somewhat deranged sister keep coming between Edith and Harris? Will Edith's EX reappear and cause hell? Of course they will...drama rules!!

Again this story draws you into their world of friends and family . We find out more of Harris' past and why he is so closed off about it and we also watch how Harris and Edith's love can be both indestructible and fragile because of the people in their lives both past and present.

Harris gives Edith such a beautiful surprise weekend together that even Cinderella would swoon over. Those were my favorite chapters of this book. Another great must read by Olivia Luck that I did not want to end. MMMmmmm maybe a novella in the future?? Please.

I was provide a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.

Wow just finish reading this book, I have to say I love the first book, but now I don't know which one I love more, love the characters and love how the book end it, this the conclusion to the prequel, In Pursuit and it picks right up where it left of, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.

The Story begging with Edith tearfully walks away, from Harris in the middle of Chicago square, with her father holding her, Now Edith is trying to pick up the pieces, of her broken heart with the help of her estranged father. After that night Edith and her father start to rebuild their relationship with one another. Edith is trying to live her life, and hoping to fix her relationship with Harris, but what she don't know is that Harris wants the same thing, would they leave everything behind, and forgive each other, or would they keep letting Claire get in the way, of their happiness.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, I love the way that Edith and Harris are with each other, love it how you can see how much they love each other, I did not want this series to end I wanted more, Author Olivia Luck THANK YOU for this amazing characters and this awesome book love it.

Of Happiness is the sequel to In Pursuit and it answers all of the lingering questions. If you are looking for the guy in a book to fawn over then Harris is definitely it. He was something special in the first book, but he was in another world in this book.

Of Happiness picks up right where In Pursuit. Edith is trying to put her life together after how things ended with Harris. Her estranged father is in the picture and Harris’ CRAY CRAY sister shows back up as well. The appearance of these two secondary characters adds another dimension and layer to the story.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable book. Harris and Edith’s love story is emotional, at times heartbreaking, and one heck of a roller coaster ride. I highly recommend the books in order instead of simply reading Of Happiness. Olivia Luck has two gems with In Pursuit and Of Happiness!!!

Holy fricking cow!

I couldnn't wait to get my hands on this conclusion and let me tell you, let me fricking tell you....Olivia DID NOT disappoint!

Are you ready to take a ride on the wild side?

Of Happiness is an intriguing, engaging, emotional, and steamy ride, one full of deceit, lies, pain, anger, love & happiness.

They know heartache and pain. Yet, they find solace within each other...

After the scandal the Claire pulled on Eddie, she left....without the love of her life and without her career connections....If anything there was ONE good thing that came out of Claire hideous lies.....her relationship with her father was rekindled...

Will Harris be able to win back his girl?

What obstacles will fate throw in these two's path?

Will Claire & Jared succeed in the destruction of Eddie & Harris?

Will their love survive? Read and find out.

I couldn't put Of Happiness down and I hated that it had to come to an end.

I could not wait to get my hands on this conclusion and let me tell you, Olivia Luck did not disappoint!

I'm in love. Harris stole my heart in book one but he chained it down in book 2.

I loved In Pursuit but this book glided along even more smoothly for me, if that's possible. Again, I felt like I was right there with the characters and often had to pull myself away from them to go to bed!

I won't give away any spoilers. What I will say is that you will love these characters even more in this book. The story moves along without a hitch. Timing is perfect, story line solid, and a blossoming love absolutely breathtaking. This all attributes to the wonderful writing style of Ms. Luck.

She is for sure, without a doubt, one of my favorite authors and I'm very much looking forward to all of her future works. I highly recommend you do the same! :)

You all need to read these books! They are short but Olivia Luck certainly manages to pack a whole lot of story into them. This is book two in Eddie and Harris' story and it picks up directly where book one left off. I can't say too much about the storyline as it will give away too much about book one but I will say that in this book we get answers to those burning questions and Harris opens up with Eddie and shares his family's painful history.
I have loved every second of these books, they are absolute gems. Eddie is an amazing character, I adore her, she's so down to earth and sweet, she makes liking her really easy. Harris is a perfect match to her. I think he brings her out of her shell and she humbles him.
The ending was just perfect, I love a HEA! I can't wait to read more from this author, what a talent!

Firstly, I would like to thank Olivia for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of Of Happiness.

Where do I begin? Maybe with the fact that I’m not sure I’m ready to say goodbye to Harris? If you thought you loved him before, in this book you’ll be swooning for him.
This sequel was quite a ride. An intriguing, engaging, emotional, and steamy ride. Once again Olivia did a perfect job in drawing her readers into her story, into Eddie and Harris’ deep and beautiful connection. If you enjoyed the first book, this is a great closure to a fantastic story.
All that’s left to say is, Olivia, keep writing please.

I love this series. Olivia has a great way of pulling you in an not letting you go! There were a few question of why things happened the way the did in the first book, well the cliffhangers get a few answers in Of Happiness. Eddie and Harris find the road to each other but there are many many bumps! I could not put this book down. You are on the edge of your seat just waiting for the next turn of events. The ride is wild and you are going to have emotions running crazy!

Looking forward to the next book!

I am not a reader. As a matter of fact I hate reading as I find I very difficult to find a book that I can get into and enjoy! This sucked me in from the beginning and held me there all the way through to the end of the second book. I finished both in 2 days! Such an easy pleasant read! I could not put them down. Much like In Pursuit I was sucked in pretty quick. I was excited to read this book to see how the author would progress and where the story would go. I have to admit I was excited to learn more about Claire; Claire really could have carried the entire book on her own.

I know a lot of people will enjoy this book, but for me I still did not connect with Harris and Eddie as a couple. I loved Eddie without Harris; when she was with Sarah, Luke and Sean I loved them all, they had a great friendship and I felt the emotion.

I even loved Harris on his own; he was suffering a lot of guilt over losing his brother and carrying the burden of caring for his sister Claire. I wish the author would have given us more of that.

With this series, I have really struggled because I think all these characters have so much potential, but for some reason Eddie and Harris get together and it becomes a little too “perfect.” I did not feel the angst over their breakup and they quickly made up without a lot of resolution, the issue where quickly overlooked. I would not bring up these issues if I did not feel potential in this author.

She has the ability to write great characters, I would just like to see more developed relationships and something unique.

Now, I realize this was is not my story to write and not everyone is going to have the feeling or issues that I did, not every reader loves the angst like I do. I would recommend this series and I feel like this is a great foundation for Olivia Luck.
