I read this because Sir Terry Pratchett mentioned this author as one of his favorites in his book "A Slip of the Keyboard: Collected Nonfiction." The book contains 77 short stories. The writing is hard hitting / take no prisoners style with wit, humor, sarcasm and it seems that no one escapes his pen. High class, low class, foreigners, English locals, rich, poor, educated and ignorant - all great targets! A fun read. I'm a bit surprised that more of Sir Terry Pratchett's fans haven't read this author.

A very mixed bag. Mostly poor, but just enough genius to make it worthwhile.

Of all his racial stereotypes, his Jews are the most convincing. Write what you know, I guess.

Incidentally this is not his best. I can remember other pieces with a better claim for inclusion.
