I wish no one ever needed this book. But we do. It really helped, as much as anything can. It contains the wisdom and experiences of many bereaved parents and a lot of practical advice for surviving the grief and pain.
I know this isn’t exactly a fair critique, but I wish it was a Christian book. The hope of resurrection with Jesus was the big thing missing; cold terms like “spirituality” and “religion” did not do much for me. But I am blessed to have many other sources of encouragement in Jesus.
I’m so thankful to be Maddie’s mom, always. I will not stop missing her until I see her again.
