Christie Cognevich lives in New Orleans, Louisiana with two cats named after dead poets. She likes books too much. This explains why she has an MFA in creative writing for children and young adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, a PhD in English literature from Louisiana State University, and a BA and MA in English literature from the University of New Orleans. A former educator who taught literature and writing for over a decade, she now works in library services.
