Excellent guide for both northern and southern hemispheres. Sky charts are versatile, no matter what your latitude is. Includes a 45 page introduction, information on dark-sky sites around the world, twilight diagrams (excellent! ), a glossary, a list of the 88 constellations, the Greek alphabet, asterisms, and a list of 107 named stars brighter than magnitude 2.75.
Ahh it's the time of the year we get a new version of this for the upcoming year. Every time I see this up for request, I know Autumn is coming and finding a physical copy of this book before the end of the year.
If I said it once I've said it now for several years, I always appreciate everything they put into this book. A list of important dates, maps of the moon, different tables and graphs plus informative logs on every month of the year that gives you a rounded and complete idea of what is to come in the new astronomical year.
Informative but also given in language that's easy to understand and made clear throughout, this guide is really the essential information you need for someone just starting out but also for anyone who just needs a good guide for the upcoming year (and the artwork is beautiful! I love the new colour this year!)
Thanks again for the ARC Netgalley and Collins Astronomy!
I love almanacs and this is a good one that talks about stars and skies. Loved it, a perfect present Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
