Clearly a labour of love for at least one of the authors, this rather whimsical Almanac has some well-researched facts and statistics on the weather in the UK throughout the year. It’s aimed more at people who already have some knowledge of weather effects and terms so, as a non-meteorologist who didn’t study this at school, I struggled to understand some of the features described.
Having said this, it’s still a good companion book for a geographer but not really an introduction for the beginner or junior novice. It’s divided by month so good to read throughout the year whilst also reading other books.
For anyone who is even a slight weather nerd this is a great book. Lots of facts you can they relay to your family - as I did! And lots of other interesting information both weather systems and things like clouds.
