I really like Aion's design. He's pretty cool, except for how he fusses over Joshua, whom I don't care about.

Didn't particularly enjoy the fanservicey shower scene with two underage girls (Rosette and Azmaria). 🤷‍♀️🙃 Even though the conversation they had during that scene was pretty interesting. But they could've just as well had that conversation with their clothes on.

I liked learning a little about Satella's previous home situation. Even though she's not my favourite character (the botched German attack phrases bother me, haha).

I like that this series, though clearly shonen, what with all the fight scenes, still has time for shojo-esque introspection and emotions. ❤

Man kann diesen Band als die Ruhe vor dem Sturm bezeichnen. Es wird erneut heftig gekämpft, aber die Charaktere entwickeln sich und man erhält auch noch Informationen. Zudem ist das sowas wie eine Atempause, bevor es dem Ende entgegen geht. Chrno versucht Dinge aufzuklären, aber es passiert ständig etwas, sodass er nicht dazu kommt.

I guai sembrano seguire passo passo il nostro quartetto: prima a New York, poi a Chicago e anche a San Francisco. Aion è finalmente pronto per mettere in atto il suo piano - liberare definitivamente i demoni dal controllo del Pandemonio, per poter così dominare il mondo. Da questo punto di vista, Chrono si trova ad affrontare le ombre del suo passato (accusato di aver ucciso altri demoni perché coinvolto nel progetto di Aion); il suo rapporto con Rosette viene presentato in tutta la sua profondità, perché i due, pur avendo dei caratteri diversissimi e aver fatto esperienze di vita quantomeno agli antipodi (dopotutto, Chrono è un demone immortale, mentre Rosette è una giovane donna), si capiscono perfettamente e si proteggono a vicenda.
Vediamo cosa aspetta i nostri protagonisti a San Francisco.

We meet up with Rosette an the gang right after the fight with Rizelle and questions are being asked but no answers to those yet. We know now that Chronos is considered a Sinner amongst his kind along with a few other demons as well. We get to see Aion's face for the first time and catch a glimpse into what he is planning, but don't get the full details.
I'm once more impressed with just how both fast-paced and slow the plot/story are? It isn't even a full ten pages before the gang is being attacked by two demons, get saved by the Chicago branch of the order, on a plane, then a fair, touching bonding with a dance and photo and then ends at a cliffhanger! There's still 4 more volumes and you're telling me that things get more insane!? Props to the mangaka, now if only we could get an OVA version of this series that's more accurate to the manga.

Chrno, Rosette, Azmaria et Satella arrivent non sans encombres à Chicago et poursuivent leur voyage vers la côte Est. Les poursuiveurs chassent Chrno, qui dévoile un peu plus de son statut de pêcheur à ses compagnes.
Enorme cliffhanger de fin de tome. Tome assez contemplatif, moins d'actions que dans les précédents ce qui permet à l'intrigue d'avancer et au suspense de monter d'un cran.
Pas mal d'interrogations sur les rôles de chacun dans la machination finale d'Aion.

Things calm down after the battle with Rizelle...nope never mind. We're back with that 0 to 60 action. Pursuers are after our heroes so that they can punish Chrono for his crimes against the demon world.
Then in a flash we go from Chicago to San Francisco and everything will change.

This volume felt like the buildup to a cliffhanger.
To be honest, it's been a while I read the beginning of this story, but this volume didn't pique my interest. The art was nice but I'm not into underage girls (or boys) and some of the designs were a bit strange to me. Also I don't understand the writer's choice why this story is set in America. But maybe it's just me.

Good story, good characters, good art, good pacing. I've enjoyed the story before, but this volume is almost perfect. Only complaint is the awkward shower scene, seems unnecessary.

Krásná kresba, která si po celou dobu držela svoji kvalitu. Bylo dost překvapující, že hezky vypadala již od začátku, což se moc nevidí. A líbilo se mi, že z démonů udělala oškliváky, ale asi ani neměla jinou možnost, protože kdyby byli hezcí, tak by je nemohla zabíjet, kdy se jí zachce. Což se i potvrzuje tím, že hlavní démoni vypadali hezky.
Příběh mě moc nebavil, protože jsem se nemohla nějak vžít s postavami. Dokonce ani hlavní hrdinové mě moc nezaujali, ale je faktem, že mě ze všech charakterů zaujali nejvíce.
Objevovala se i zde poměrně ohraná klišé, které jsem opravdu četla již několiksetkrát. Naštěstí to byl zrovna ten typ, jenž mi zas tak tolik nevadí.
Musím uznat, že mě konec opravdu překvapil, přestože jsem to již četla. Věděla jsem, že by měli oba dva zemřít, ale autorka mě přinutila o této skutečnosti pochybovat, protože to vypadalo, že by mohli přežít. Opravdu jsem pochybovala o své paměti. To opravdu oceňuji. :D
Přiznávám, že jsem moc příběh nepobrala. To kam se ubíral, mi přišlo divné a nudné. A vše co se zde odehrávalo taktéž. (Možná to je tím, že si to už moc nepamatuji, jelikož jsem lenoch a tohle píšu deset dní po přečtení, že?)
Očekávala jsem i nějakou romantickou linku mezi Rossetou a Chronem (Nechápu, proč se nejmenuje "Chrono" jako čas a ke všemu by se to i lépe vyslovovalo a pamatovalo :D)A nic moc se mezi nimi nestalo. Maximálně jsem se dozvěděla tragický backstory Chrona a jeho bývalky. :D Možná je to dobře, ale jelikož mě příběh celkově moc nebavil, tak je tu šance o pozvednutí na lepší úroveň.
Oceňuji poměrně originální myšlenku, která mě i zaujala, ale očividně ne na tolik, aby to zlepšilo můj pohled na tuhle sérii. Koncept s hodinami, reprezentující váš zbývající čas a výměna životní síly (:P) za moc, se mi líbil, jelikož se nikdo nestal přesílený jen proto, že se to zrovna hodilo.
U obálek mám konfliktní pocity. :D Opravdu se mi líbí, jak jsou nakreslené a co je na nich vyobrazené, ale hrozně se mi nelíbí ta barevná kombinace. :D Teda až na šesté volumko, tam je to celkem v pohodě.

Chrno Crusade (no it's not a typo, that's how they put it on the Japanese title... it was a typo there but it got published that way, so us old school hard fans keep to it!)

If you are a fan of manga, and like good stories with lots of back drama, beautiful art, and sexy bishounen guys with wings (uh huh!), then this is a must-read. I mean, it is my absolute favorite all-time manga.
