In pursuit of the heart the dragons need to survive, Elizabeth has to make some difficult decisions. At least her dragon prince is there by her side through it all, ready to attack any foes that threaten.
Until the day he isn’t.
When the world you knew is gone, when monsters become allies, and heroes make villainous choices, what’s a warrior to do? Liz wrestles with demons, literal and figurative, trying to find a path through the darkness for her family, but it’s not a simple task.
She’s about to face the hardest decisions of her life as the dragons descend in force, prepared to take what they need at all costs. Will Liz be able to sort friends from foes in time to save the earth from the demons below and the dragons above? And what will she lose in the process?
Embroiled is the third book in this series, and it was such a wild ride. I felt like I was right there with them, totally immersed in the world. Liz has some tough truths to work through along with the heartache from Azar losing his memories, but don't fret. I promise it isn't all gloom and doom hang in there. Azar and Hyperion make things difficult for Liz, but she warriors on. Hyperion is quickly wiggling his stubborn dragon self into my heart. In true Bridegt Baker fashion, we learn to love the ones we thought we hated. ❤️ Sammy, Jade, and Coral, along with Aestira, Gordon, and Rufus, are the side characters we need and love. This book is all about dragon bonding and ensnaring humans. Humans get to be the dragon riders, and you will find yourself wishing you could have your own dragon to bond. If I were a human in this book, I would've signed up for that job immediately!
So if you like action-packed novels that also have a sprinkle of humor and a dash of heart with a pinch of gut-wrenching scenes, then this is for you.
In this book, you will find: *found family *lost memories *memories from the past *the chosen one *enemies to lovers *closed door/fade to black (pg-13) romance *heart stone answers were revealed, but new worries unlocked as well *lots of action
Choices With Far Reaching Consequences. Even with the best intentions our decisions can take a turn we don’t expect and didn’t intend. And the only way is forward. Some obscure prophecies muddle the situation as well. Reading the different POV’s it’s clear what struggles Liz and Azar are going through in their relationship. Trying to find a solution for what happened to the blessed due to her choices with Freya in the volcano inside the given timeframe. More free bonding, but also betrayal and finally a government that is willing to listen. Still a lot of sass, action and wonderful characters. Highly recommended.
Embroiled is a wonderful addition to the series! There's emotion, romance, action; everything you love in a fantasy. I really really enjoyed the way conflicts would resolve and new ones would appear while the fundamental ones for the plot of the entire series would just develop further. No issues seemed like they were extending past necessary or like they just didn't have a place in the story. Everything was organic and beautiful. But Bridget Baker is the queen of cliffhangers.
This whole book kept me on the edge of my seat! It picks up right where book 2 left off, with our heroine navigating an entirely new set of... let's call them attributes. We also get some wonderful flashbacks to the origins of the dragons and their first interactions with humans. It was laugh-out-loud funny in several parts. I can NOT wait for the conclusion of this story-- which I'm sure will be just as action-packed and intense as its predecessors.
OMG I love this series. Once again I found myself drawn back into this incredible fantasy read brimming with action, adventure, romance, dragons and so much more. Our characters have been through the mill and it doesn’t stop now and you can really feel the struggles that they face and the decisions that must be made. It’s gripping, it’s exciting and this captivating read has me hook, line and sinker and so ready for the next book please.
This book is a rollercoaster of emotions and action, really the whole series. I love that we are getting more and more background on the dragons and maybe discovering why some people are brights. The characters aren’t perfect, they have their flaws, which just makes you resonate with them even more. Love this clean fantasy with a side of love and can’t wait for the next book (final book?) In the series to see how all this plays out.
This book was utterly unputdownable. Bridget makes manages to make you change your thoughts on characters throughout the book, helping you to feel more passionately about some of the previously difficult characters. The book ends on a cliffhanger that is perfectly timed to make you want nothing more than for the next book to be already in your hands.
Amazing Fantasy meets Betrayal, Love and fierce devotion
Loved this, can't wait for Embattled. I adore Hyperion more every chapter. Love Axel/Azar, the other "Blessed" and especially Liz and her siblings. Great storyline and characters. Snark, bravery and allegiance...this has it all. Great job, Bridget!
I have enjoyed reading these three books so much and cannot wait until book four when they are Australian! Spoiler alert. The humour is perfect for a new Aussie and the ethics and characters are so interesting. The world building and allusion to Norse mythology just keep getting better! Thanks for a great time, Bridget E Baker!
These books are all very well written and I like them a lot. Very action packed. Sometimes I have to take a break because it's a little intense for me! Can't wait for the next book to be released!
What a rush! Every time I think I know what's coming, Bridget throws another curveball. Liz is an amazing and strong character and her relationship with her siblings is incredible.
This book really took me by surprise in a good way. It is an engaging continuation of this series that leaves you waiting with bated breath for the next book. You will not regret reading this series.
This is a highly addicting, couldn't put down fantasy book. Its fast paced, slow burn and I am absolutely hooked. I love the banter and characters. Looking forward to the next book.
I enjoyed this book because all the 🐉 dragons are finding bonded and lil Sammie is going to be the savior. Not another bad brother tho. The 🌎 world building is fantastic but why Freya tho???
Wow. This series just takes us through the wringer. Betrayal and family and hope and despair. Pain and death. New life and chances. This is one of my favorite series that exists. A clean paranormal romantasy saga, this series dives into the hero versus villain ideas. The dragons come in search of the key to saving their lives. Humans and dragons are at odds but they also connect. These books are all about choice. What choices you make and the choices that are made for you. This has been a thrilling adventure and ride. I’ve been elated. I’ve been totally down and depressed. A whirlwind and rollercoaster of emotions. This story isn’t done, but I have high hopes that the next book will knit back together all the broken pieces into something more beautiful and stronger than before. Though I’ve read this series twice now, I just cannot they enough of it. I’m thrilled to finally get to read the finale and I bet I’ll reread them all in the next few years again. This is a just kisses romance, intimacy level 3. There are a couple swear words used.
kindle and audible 1st read I rated it 5 stars but second read I dropped it to 4 bc of all the tedious parts. and I still don't understand the lore. all their names sound the same and I couldn't keep track of which dragon was which.
