This Mature-rated sequel/spin-off to the hit Boys’ Love omegaverse webtoon from Lezhin follows Park Dojin’s older sister, alpha Do-gyeom, on her quest to find true love!
Free-spirited Alpha Do-gyeom has finally decided to put her promiscuous past behind her and settle down. As a 39-year-old woman, however, her options for marriage partners have dwindled. Luckily she has her beleaguered Omega secretary, Seung-ah, to do most of the work of finding a suitable match for her. It shouldn’t be a problem, even if Seung-ah and Do-gyeom have harbored secret feelings for each other for years. In fact, arranging Do-gyeom’s marriage may just be the catalyst for the two of them to finally admit their attraction…unless another Alpha gets in the way!
Tbh, I don’t get the hate this story gets. I definitely think the plot couldn’t have been more than a sentence. I think it could’ve been a lot shorter, but it reads like many other omegaverse stories. I give it bonus points for not chickening out when it comes to the female alpha anatomy. I’ve been WAITING for a story to not chicken out and this one didn’t.
Dogyeom reads like any other pretty callous, sex obsessed alpha. Is she perfect? No. Is she hot? Extremely. Short hair or long hair, she’s dominant and I thought that was very sexy. She’s written like plenty of other alphas that play with the hearts of other omegas until they realize/find the one that they care the most about. Tbh, the fiancée was such a non character, I think the story could’ve either been much shorter or much longer. Mina was not developed enough for me to truly feel that sorry for her.
This is full of the same tropes in many other manhwas so it’s the fact that there’s a female alpha with a knot that makes it unique to me. It was fine. The art was really nice, too. *shrugs*
6 / 10 ⭐️ Omegaverse / Friends to lovers / MM / Triángulo amoroso
Cuando su jefe (y mejor amigo), del que está secretamente enamorado anuncia que se va a casar, no puede soportar el dolor en su corazón. Así que renuncia y se va a vivir con su otro mejor amigo.
I LOVEEEEEEE that the alpha MC is trans. I kept wondering how an alpha could be female, mainly because I’ve never seen that in a book before, so this makes a lot of sense.
The characters were at times a little frustrating, but I enjoyed the angst and the slowburn. I’m REALLY hoping that they become a throuple with Mujin. 🙏🏼
4/6 This author LOVES mess. If you don't like mess, you shouldn't be here. This is my soap opera, and I read it all in one sitting. I liked the autonomy of the female alpha. She is the daddy. This story is two people that basically have been in love their entire time knowing each other but from misunderstandings of their own creation never thought that they could be together. There is another old friend that loves the omega also and he helps create mess. But we get a HEA with a BABY.
I’m not making excuses anymore…I love this garbage. It’s mine, and I love it.
Was this absolute chaos? Yes. Did I eat up every second of it? Yes.
What can I say? I’m a simple woman. I see a female alpha, and I fall in love with the female alpha. Absolutely need the second volume like I need oxygen 😩
From the onset, Love is an Illusion! The Queen doesn’t really look like the type of story I’d be into reading or reviewing. The story of an overconfident business woman finally letting go of her female lovers to settle down for the quiet male assistant who’s been pining over her for years really doesn’t hold the thrill of the countless messy BL and GL lining my shelves. But that’s where the magic of the omegaverse comes in, because thanks to that sub-genre this story is anything but mundane and ordinary. In fact, that little switch up make it the perfect sort of mess for me - so much that I’m reading this without the original series and I really enjoyed it...
Hmm. I like Seung-ah and Mujin together. I’ve already read this on Lehzin and reading the physical copy just cements my thoughts that I do not like Do-gyeom. I know both characters are at fault for not telling each other their feelings but I feel that Seung-ah’s actions are a lot better. He’s kinda a stickler for rules and keeps his feelings to himself but he always looking out for Do-gyeom and I feel like she does whatever she wants because she knows he’s watching out for her. She also likes that he’s always there. And at the end of this volume when he’s run to Mujin, although she doesn’t know it yet, what’s she gonna do when all her actions have pushed him to this point?

The art is very wonderful and to find that the entire volume was in color was truly a delight! Things are very fast paced, but, seeing as this is a spin-off, it's fitting for the plot. That being said, there are some elements (such as Mujin's sudden involvement towards the end of the volume) feels a little unnecessary. I know that plot needs to keep moving with conflicts but, meh, I feel there were better ways to move things forward. Still, I did enjoy the balance of explicit scenes with the story and will read the next one.
It's rare to get this type of setup with the alpha-verse. So it is quite a rare treat in my opinion. I do find some character building to be a bit lacking as to find motivations for how they are but maybe that will come in book two which I already preordered.I personally wish more females were involved.
But alas, it is what it is and I want to be buried with this book.
This was messy in a way that was not really fun on some scences. I remember when we first met Dojin's sister in Love Is An Illusion, and I was intrigued by the anatomy of female alphas and how she seemed to defy the norms of what was expected. While I'm glad we got her story, I lowkey could have done without it, like some things should remain a mystery lol.
I'm surprised how low rating this was because I liked the story. I loved how Do-gyeom was beautiful and dominate. The girl was very versatile and I was here for it. The fact that the other made an alpha anatomy for this woman was top tier.
My boy Seung-ah, is a cutie and gets shit done. It had a lot of what we normally see in omega verse but it was nice to say a woman finding her little bunny.
I really hate almost the whole story lol. Both of the leads were so frustrating. It was also annoying how after all the angst, the author can't give mooooooore sweet moments especially seeing more of the baby!!!!!!!
I'm reading this only for the secretary! I do not like the FL as a person...honestly I wouldn't like her irl either LOL. but SHE DOES HAVE MONEY BUT LIKE urgh 😩
Realmente este manwha me decepcionó, la historia no tomo un rumbo que me gustara, siempre que la protagonista es muy flojo, Incluso el personaje secundario se robaba el protagonismo
