Rising artist Nic Bannerman isn't looking for love. Then she meets Daniel. He has dimples and a charming Golden Retriever. Call her shallow, but she's willing to take a chance.

All too soon, outside events overtake them... her birth father's bad choices, his best friend's  personal issues, her escalating stalker... and other unexpected complications.

They're made for each other... if they can survive this.

READER ADVISORY - This book has a mid-range heat level, along with the occasional S-bomb and F-bomb, and a really sweet Golden Retriever!

I’m always up for a romantic suspense book, especially from an author I haven’t previously read. The title of this book and the brief blurb sounded interesting. Unfortunately, the story was a disappointment.
Silent Caller by Adeara Allyne had the potential to be a solid thriller but it lost direction and became a rambling, saccharin romantic with a little mystery tossed in to justify using the term “suspense”.
From Daniel’s, the male half of the romantic duo, first sighting of Nic on the DC Metro to the contrived face to face meeting, the absurdity of the story moves sluggishly forward. Washington, DC is not a small town; it’s Metro busy and often crowded. The idea that he spotted the girl of his dreams on the opposite platform, going in the opposite direction is hard to swallow. When Daniel’s long-time friend Luke manages to track Nic down with nothing but her description, hard to swallow becomes absurd. I set aside my doubts and plunged ahead.
So many things about this book left me dissatisfied. Daniel regularly refers to Nic as his “little artist”. Granted there seems to be a reason for this later in the story but it was so irritating I would grit my teeth every time I read the words.
Without giving anything away I’ll say the plot was predictable. Getting to the point was painful. The on again/off again relationships were tedious. The dialogue is unrealistic. I couldn’t get invested in any of the characters. I didn’t hate them. They were simply boring. The one character I enjoyed was Bentley, the dog.
If a story is good, well written and compelling I can easily overlook editing issues. This book was so dull every misspelling grated on my nerves. I’d like to say I’ll give the author another try, but I’m not certain I want to invest any more time into a book that leaves me dissatisfied. I’m being generous to give this book three stars. Bentley earned one all by himself.

This should've been a Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn movie!

Really, it would have been a perfect script for the two of them. I love their movies, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Nic is classy with the Hepburn look and a working artist. Daniel is handsome and has a four-footed roommate named Bentley. Each of them has a pair of BFFs that they wouldn't give up for the world. So when a weird quirk in her late husband's will gives away a huge chunk of money and a place on the board to another woman, one of Daniel's BFFs is enraged. When it turns out it's Nic, it looks like Daniel must choose. Because, obviously, she had an affair with the late husband. Why else would he leave her all that money? So Daniel must take his BFF's side and never see Nic again. Right? Well, luckily for Nic and Daniel, Ms. Allyne found another solution to the problem. It's totally entertaining. No graphic sex scenes. Highly recommended.

Nice.....good read

Enjoyable read, not much of a thriller or a love story. But like I said enjoyable. I will continue reading the series.
Why open a door for a woman........
"One, it lets the other person know my focus is not on me; it’s on you. Two, it says what we’re doing, we’re doing together. Three, it shows any guy watching that you’re with me and I think you’re special enough to treat you right."

I feel generous today so I'm giving this book a 3 star rating when in fact, I found it long winded, poorly edited, cardboard characters, and lacking any form of passion. It read much more like a christian romance than anything else so if that's your cup of tea, drink up. It's obviously not mine. I prefer much more realism in my romance and much more mystery in my suspense and a story that draws me in. This story lacked in all departments.

Another good Allyne story

Fast paced, easy to read, with believable characters.
I enjoy her stories because they flow well, and the writing, or editing, is better than most new authors. I hate finding discrepancies or having to re-read because of missing punctuation or bad grammar.

Great

I really liked this book. It had similar writing style as the Maybe Series books but was totally different. These are easy books to read and are just an enjoyable reading experience.

Once again I have found a good book in this story. I found it hard to put it down until the end. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.

In short, this book reminds me of a winding road that leads to nowhere. I will say that I am at a disadvantage having not read the first of the series, but I will continue with my impressions of this as a standalone novel.

This is a suspenseful romance with a hint of mystery. It would've been better had the tone been more consistent. It is always difficult to tell a story about a woman who is being stalked and make it believable that she is also falling in love at the same time. The author fails when it comes to that aspect of the book and I think it really hurts it. The love story feels rushed and the emotions do not have a genuine feel. The stalking situation started off suspenseful and then devolved into a messy conclusion.

The main characters are Nic, an artist, and Daniel, a financial advisor. There is not enough personal development from either of them to make any further books in the series worth reading for me. Here's where my disadvantage comes in. Maybe there was more character development of them in the first book, although from the tone of the book, it doesn't seem like that is likely.

The language in the book doesn't help you to immerse yourself in it. Some of the reactions don't seem like they belong in certain situations. It feels unauthentic. I would give this book a 1 out of 5 stars.

This is an amazing book. It will grab you and hold onto you through. With a stalker calling and hanging up at all times. Nic finds love in the craziness. Daniel finds his true family, and things are looking great for them. Then things change when he goes to a meeting with his chikdhood friend. You will have to read the book to see if Daniel and Nic cqn find their way back to each other or if their differences will keep them apart.

Enjoyable Read

This book is an enjoyable read. Daniel has definitely chosen his type of woman that he is looking for in life - Audrey Hepburn. He is amazed when by chance he sees his dream girl - Nic. I love how their story is carried out. It is so romantic at times.

Daniel knows who the woman of his dreams is the moment that he lays eyes on Nic. It took a path down a rocky road to get her. The villain is quite a surprise at the end.

Great

Nice is an artist. Daniel decides to buy some of her paintings to meet her. She starts to get some crank calls. See how it turns out.
