A beautiful book (because: Fantasy flight) with a decent content.

Like all their books of this line it has Three parts, New races and occupations - stuff - and some thoughts about how to use the theme of the book in Your games.

The first part is as always some good stuff, even if I think that two the three occupations in this book will be hard to use in a normal EoE game without some tweeking. Some good races, some interesting occupations With some good advancement trees. Good not great.

The second had some interesting things, but it feels like they are scraping the barrel here. 2/3 of a page abot different sacks to carry your stuff… Yet another bunch of ships that we seen versions of before and so on and so forth.

The Third part had perhaps 2-4 pages of usefull information that should be a part of this book. But I found most of it would have fitted better in a beginners game Box, not in a supplement that you are supposed to read after the main book. And they also Write a lot without saying much. And the adventure seeds either dident fit With the setting of this book, or sounded boring.

In general I am quite disappointed with this book. Because there is a lot they could have done with it that would have fitted better with the theme of the book. But I think thay are more fixated with the design of the books then with the content, and thats a shame. FFG can make good stuff if they want. In a book about exploration there should be planets and places to explore. In a book with a Big game hunter occupation, where is examples of big game? This is Star Wars, I want big ideas. Give me a millennia old Jedi temple. What are the rumors of "the lost expedition of (xxx)"? Give me a really fucking wierd planet to get my mind going. And so on.

I am pretty sure that FFG can do a lot better then this. I am not sure why they dont. I wonder if they have painted themselfs into a corner due to their design choises and they dont dare to move out of it.

The content of this book is 2 stars. But I will give it a third because it is still a really pretty book. And I think that matters when it comes to RPGs. I rather have a good book then a pretty book. But if its pretty it will still get an extra notch.
