Lost in Me

Rate this book
The last thing I remember is having drinks at Brady’s and trying to avoid eye-contact with my life-long crush—the gorgeous, unattainable Maximilian Hallowell. They tell me that was a year ago, but I have no memories of anything since then. What I do have is this ring on my finger that Max says he gave me, and this much-thinner body I’ve dreamed of most of my life. Aside from a case of retrograde amnesia, everything seems almost...perfect.

But the deeper I immerse myself into this new world of mine—planning a wedding to a man I don't remember dating, attempting to run a business I don't remember starting—the clearer it becomes that nothing is as it seems. Do I have the life I’ve always wanted or is it a facade propped up by secrets I don't even know I have?

I need answers before I marry Max, and the only person who seems to have them is the angry, tatted, sexy-as-sin rocker Nate Crane. And Nate wants me for himself.

OMFG that ending!!!! What the hell Lexi Ryan? Why did you give us readers that ending? Omg! This book kept me on the edge in anticipation the whole read. I wanted so badly to like Max, but from the get go I didn't like or trust him. I don't know why but after finding out about Meredith I knew my dislike of him was totally justified! What a slime! I really really hope Hanna doesn't end up with his bitch ass! On the other hand I really liked Nate from the start. I did get annoyed with him because he didn't offer Hanna a relationship of any kind. I would have liked him to fight more for her. Still I felt Hanna and Nate had a strong connection and I hope she ends up with him. I can't wait to jump into book two and see what happens after the bomb Lexi Ryan dropped on me at the end of the book!

Okay, so that ending was ridiculous. I'm so glad that I'm reading this book now and not when the other books weren't published yet. That cliffhanger needs a resolution NOW!

Hanna wakes up in the hospital, not remembering anything from the last year of her life. Right away, I knew that something shady was just beyond her memory. She's wearing an engagement ring, signifying that her lifelong crush on Max finally led somewhere, but I was so confused by her actions. I didn't trust Max (and later found my skepticism justified) and wondered why she let herself be led into something she didn't understand. Who wakes up not remembering what happened and just goes with the flow? Hanna does. But then there's Nate, a man her heart knows but she can't remember. He looks at her like she sets the sun and holds the moon. He calls to her, but she has Max, who is everything any woman could want. So why not play with both of them?

"If he's into your sister, why are you with him? Why not be into a guy who's into you?"

I think Hanna was one of the most unsympathetic big girl heroines I've ever come across. She was a doormat for every person in her life. She allowed her mother to still dictate to her, force her into situations she didn't want, and continue to criticize her. She let her childish feelings for a man lead her down a road of drama and didn't see anything wrong with it. The only hint that she may have a backbone came at the end and I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with her newfound strength. BTW, I'm totally #TeamNate!!

What the HELL???? Yesterday I get a story without an ending and today I get a book with a cliffhanger that leaves me asking more questions compared to when I was reading it….UGH…..do the book gods have a vendetta against me?  And just when I finish wiping the last drip of snot from crying – I get hit with an ending that has me ready to commit Hara-Kari.  I do think next time I will take the time to read the FULL synopsis, down to the last line…because there it is plain as day that this book would end in a cliffhanger.

I LOVED this story…I was sucked in to this story…and with every page turn, I could feel my heart pounding quicker and quicker in anticipation of what was going to happen next or what Hannah would remember…..OH and not only was this book full of suspense….it was a “tear-jerker” on top of it….HOLY HELL Ms. Ryan – what have you done to me?  Can I wait till June to find out more?  Ummm…I guess I’m going to have to – but do I want to? HELLZ to the H – N.O.!!

Oh and did I mention our heroine has always battled with her weight

Ms. Ryan, your writing style is precise, your use of adjectives to describe settings and feelings can only be described as phenomenal – you were able to transport me into New Hope and experience the emotions each character experienced. Now please get back to writing and see if we can have the next book published a little bit ahead of schedule….like maybe April 8?

Re-Cap
Hannah wakes up from an accident not remembering the last year of her life…and in this year her life has been a whirlwind of changes….some good…..some not so good.  She needs to figure out just what the hell happened and put the pieces of the puzzle back together again and figure out – why she lost so much weight?  Why she is engaged? Who this mysterious man in her bed is with the Hulk tattoo? When did she open up a bakery and who is her silent partner?  What happened to her relationship with her twin? How did she end up with Max? What really happened to her and the stairs she ‘supposedly’ fell down?

The only thing Hannah knows for certain is that bit by bit her memory is returning and she will stop at nothing to figure out what the hell happened in those missing months!

This story kept me guessing, right to the end. I completely changed my opinion of both of the guys in this love triangle, and then changed it again. Up until the last 10% or so, I was completely smitten with this story. Then, the ending royally pissed me off! WTF? I wanted to throw my iPad across the room! Aargh! I can't hit either Max or Nate, no matter how much I want to. Instead, I'm buying the second book STAT while I flip them off in my head. ;)

I absolutely LOVED Hanna's story, it captivated me until the very last page, trying to piece together her past and which man was right for her. I'm going on the record as Team Nate, and I can't wait to see what happens in book 2. A phenomenal read!

Oh man, what to say about Lexi Ryan's "Lost in Me"? This was a better book than I expected it to be for the cliches provided and the category (New Adult), but I still wasn't enamored with it and had more issues than not in the aftermath, considering.

This is the first book I've ever read by Lexi Ryan, and I'll say that her writing style is compulsively readable and she does have a command over an eye for detail and character development (though with caveats). "Lost in Me" follows the journey of Hanna, a young woman who has lost her memory and can't remember the last year of her life. That's a pretty tough situation to be in itself, and I'll admit the part of the story that hooked me was Hanna trying to feel her way back into her life, between rekindling her relationship with her twin sister, rediscovering her work with her bakery, and coming to terms with her mother's control over her life and suffering from an eating disorder and body image issues. (Because YAY for overweight heroines, though I didn't like how Hanna still continued to shame herself for her weight in this story and also proceeded to objectify herself in ways associated with her weight - that vexed me to no end. I mean, if the point is to be able to love your body no matter what, she did an awful lot of shaming her old image and glorifying her weight loss associated with her eating disorder and being in the hospital.) If the story focused on her coming to terms alone, I probably would've given this book a little higher in rating because I connected with that part of it.

The romance in this book was a different story. I mean, I knew it was coming - I knew that Hanna would be torn between two different guys - a man she's said to be engaged to but doesn't remember (Max), and a rocker whom she has a thing for but isn't sure of the nature of their relationship (Nate). I'll admit this book threw me out several times because of the awkward imposing of the sex scenes. Some of them were sketch in and of themselves (i.e. Nate coming into her room and imposing himself on her when she still doesn't remember who he is, and she freaks out because she thought it was Max.).

But seriously, you could've taken half of the sex scenes out of this book, and it wouldn't have been as awkward for transition as it presented itself. It felt a bit forced, and I didn't really care for it. Not to mention that I'm not sure if I really cared for the heroes in this book. I was team Hanna the whole way through, don't get me wrong, even if there were times she wanted to make me throw the book at her. Max was caring enough as a potential fiance, but there were things about his character that seemed off to me from the get go, and I understood why after certain events were revealed that made me think "Oh he can go screw himself for all I care." I'm not a fan of cheating relationships, and there's a bit of a two-fold questioning scenario in this that it goes back and forth between in this novel. It's palpable for conflict, but I didn't care that much for the portrayal. Nate is your typical rocker, though I still felt like he wasn't a part of the overarching novel (which I understood why) for a good part. Didn't give me enough time to get to know him or connect his relationship with Hanna.

This book goes between the present day and flashbacks as Hanna slowly recovers certain memories about her relationships with Max and Nate. I found that I followed that fine despite the jumps in time (though the intimacy scene transitions were awkward because of Hanna not knowing her connections with the two). I did feel for her as she came to rekindle her relationships, especially with her twin. I also liked Dr. Nix as a character (she was probably the character I liked the most in this novel, considering), as she helps Hanna in her recovery and just as an aide throughout certain events.

But if there's something that I hate in New Adult that always happens and new writers in this category always tend to do: cliffhangers. Why the heck do authors feel the need to crudely end their works on a cliffhanger, especially one that doesn't really make that much sense, especially when it contradicts information that was previously provided in the book? That's exactly what this book did, and it left me feeling like I'd followed most of the novel without getting very many answers at all, just more questions, and an awkward question to end on especially with the contradiction in info. I won't spoil it, but I'm wondering how this will be addressed in the series to come.

For the record, I'm interested enough in this book to continue the series, but I don't go into it with high expectations. I'm disappointed that this book chose to follow familiar cliches despite having potential to go beyond that, and an interesting premise and set of characters to follow. But compared to some of the NA books I've picked up in comparison? This wasn't among the worst ones I've read, but it still left much to be desired.

Overall score: 2/5 stars

I really enjoyed this book.
It had secrets, passion, scandal, and mystery.
Hanna has woken up in the hospital with amnesia. I know what you’re thinking oh god here we go. Predictable..

WELL ISN’T THAT CUTE BUT IT’S WRONG!
She has woken up 50 pounds lighter, engaged to the man she has had a crush on since she was 13. A bakery owner and Distanced from her twin sister and can’t remember the Dr who is looking after her.
She has lost the last 11 months of her life.
Her new life seems perfect.

Until the night a sexy as hell rock star climbs in to her bed. Like he belongs there. Like he has been there before.
Why is he is in her bed? When she is engaged to Max?
How did she lose all the weight?
How did she end up with Max?
Why are her and her sister not so close anymore?
All questions that are….. kinda answered as you read.

Lexi Ryan draws you in from the first page. We don’t know anything about the characters so we are feeling just like Hanna, learning everyone and everything again.
I liked Max.. He seemed a bit,, “off” though. I’m sure all will be answered..
But for the record I am totally Team Nate! #forthewin
The right amount of clues and hints and words are given to have us the reader asking questions that are eventually half answered. (We all know for a fact that there are 3 books, so I wasn’t expecting to have ALL the answers given straight away.)
It hooks in you and will have you waiting impatiently for the next 2 books.

Hanna is the fat twin, the fat friend, and has been in lust with Max since she was 13. But Max has eyes for her twin Lizzie. One night she's at the bar wishing Max could like her back. The next minute, she's in a hospital bed, engaged to Max and cant remember a damn thing....

This book really had me going. I didnt know what to think, who to believe, what memory to believe. I had so many WTF happen moments. But that was the fun part of this book, also keeping me on my toes, on the edge of thinking Ive got it all figured out, when I really didnt...

Hanna wakes up, engaged to Max, distant from her twin, and the owner of a bakery which was her dream job. She cant remember the last 11 months. Oh, and the kicker, she woke up THIN!!!

YES!!!
Anyways, the book goes back and forth from before the accident to after. I didnt know who to trust! Max seemed great, but acted kind of "off" to me. He said all the right things, but his actions were so different. Then there's Nate....

He is such a huge mystery! Now calm down...dont get all bent out of shape cause the love triangle. There's no crazy cheating going on, but there is a triangle. Hell, she doesnt even remember Nate, or getting engaged to Max. Nate was the tortured soul musician. And there is a lot involving Nate that she has yet to discover. Nate isnt very forthcoming with her.
Hanna is torn. Max is who she has always wanted, but just like Nate, there is a lot of things regarding Max that come to light, and they are very hurtful...I wanted to junk punch Max. But over time throughout the book, I started to really like him, even with questions.

One man professes..
"But I was in love with you, Hanna. And I am. Desperately, hopelessly, helplessly in love"

Another man says..
"You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. Youre like the sun-completely blind to your own beauty because you are so busy making everyone around you shine"
There are many revelations throughout the book, that helps make it a bit angsty, but I loved it. You just never knew who to really trust.
And yes, it ends on a

No fear though, book 2 is out!

This was a rather interesting one...yet I'm not sure I'll continue with the series. This was almost more mystery than romance, and it took a long time to unfold. The reason? The heroine (Hanna)has amnesia (suffered after an accident--or was it?). So the last year has become a blur to her. When she wakes up in the hospital, she has an engagement ring on her finger, and she's engaged to her childhood crush (Max). How did that happen? And how did she lose almost 50 pounds? The last she can remember she was a chubby/fat girl.

After she leaves the hospital and is home in bed, she's awakened by a man snuggled up close to her...it must be Max, she thinks. But no, it's a sexy stranger! Or is it? Is this guy (rock star Nate) in her life? When did that happen? Did she cheat on Max?

Little by little, we get more details about Hanna's life, as her memory starts to return. I have a feeling about what really happened, and what's going to happen, and a lot has been revealed so far. But the book ends on a cliffhanger...damn. I hate that.

So why am I not sure I'll continue with it? Well, I can't believe the choices Hanna is making. Is she that desperate to So yes, not really feeling the characters, even though the plot line is kind of intriguing for me.

Two more books in this series, and I can predict how they'll go. Not sure if I want to find out for sure. Maybe. 3 1/2 stars

Since signing up for the cover reveal a few months ago, I have been really looking forward to reading this book. I was expecting this to be a good one and I wasn't disappointed. What an AMAZING story! I couldn't put it down for even a second.

Hanna wakes up in a hospital room with retrograde amnesia and a gorgeous rock on her finger. No one is really sure what happened, but she was found at the bottom of a flight of stairs all banged up. She has no memories from the last 11 months of her life, but she feels like she's living in a dream. She suddenly has everything she's ever wanted. She's lost 50 pounds, has her own bakery and is engaged to Max. She grew up with Max and has been in love with him for as long as she can remember, but she always felt that her twin sister, Lizzy, was more his type. Hanna never felt skinny enough or pretty enough to go after him. She's pretty shocked to find him being so loving and attentive with her, because she can't remember being in a relationship, let alone getting engaged. Can you imagine?

A few nights after being released from the hospital, she wakes up to someone kissing her neck, but it's not Max. It's a sexy stranger with a hulk tattoo that's found his way into her bed. She has no memory of who this guy is or why he would even be in her apartment. When he sees her engagement ring he gets upset and bolts. Turns out the sexy stranger is famous rocker, Nate Crane. Hanna doesn't understand what's going on, would she cheat on her dream guy, Max?
"Every time I say goodbye, I tell myself that's it. That I'll end it. Because you deserve that. But I'm weak and selfish as shit and keep calling you back because I can't get enough of you."
Hanna finds out that things aren't always as perfect as they seem. I really liked Hanna and connected with her character. I think sometimes it's easy to get down on yourself and feel like you're not enough. Gotta love a heroine that was able to overcome that and realize she deserves more.
"You're like the sun-completely blind to your own beauty because you are so busy making everyone around you shine. No matter how far we hide in the shadows, you share your light. That's how you stole my heart when no one else could find it."
I thought it was so genius how the story unfolded. As Hanna regains bits of her memory here and there we get a glimpse into her relationships with Max and Nate. A little bit of how things ended up the way they did, but not the full story. There are a lot of unanswered questions and a HUGE cliffhanger at the end that has left me dying to read to the second book! I am TEAM NATE at this point, but I want more of Max's story, even though he's a jerk. I can't wait to get my hands on Fall To You.

I'll start off by saying I'M NOT A FAN OF LOVE TRIANGLES.
I had the suspicion of this book being the case but I still bought it. (Yes, entirely my fault)
In my defense, I was lured by all the good reviews. Anyway...
I want to say I liked the writing, it's smooth and entertaining.
But Hannah... Oh this chick drove me nuts. She wants Nate but she's engaged to Max.
Perhaps it's me but I can't stand it when the lead heroine is indecisive.
I have to say I'm probably Team Nate but who knows? Maybe she'll end up with Max. That would pissed me off so much.
And then the worst thing happened: it ends in a cliffhanger.
Kill me now.
The second book comes out in June, I believe.

I love it, but no 5 stars because of the @$*&%#%#@ cliffy.

I had to put it down several times because I wasn't sure it I wanted to finish it. One girl messing with two guys at the same time. Once you push past that the holes because of the amnesia start to get filled in, and I start rooting for the tatted rocker instead of the finacee. Then we get hit with a cliffy ... ARGH!

Holy duck lovin' cliffhangers, Batman!
Lost in Me kept me up reading into the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't put the book down until I reached 'The End', and even then I didn't want to! What an amazing start to a new series, I cannot wait for book two. I am seriously having withdrawal jitters already, how can I be expected to wait until June?! It's impossible I tell 'ya!

The Here and Now series is a spin-off from Lexi Ryan's New Hope series, which is another fabulous new adult series that you must read. Though this series can be read without reading New Hope, all of the starring characters from that previous series show up and play relevant parts in The Here and Now. Lost in Me stars Maggie's (Unbreak Me) younger sister and Cally's (Wish I May) best friend, Hanna.

Hanna has been crushing on Maximilian Hallowell since she was thirteen but he's only had eyes for her much skinnier and beautiful twin sister. When she wakes up in the hospital though with no memory of the last eleven months it seems like all of her dreams have come true! She is skinnier, owns her own business, and is engaged to the sexy Max. Too bad she can't remember how her life turned into this fairy tale! As with everything in life though, nothing is perfect. She's lost the connection with her sister Lizzy that they've always shared, she's somehow seeing a psychiatrist, and then she wakes up to find a sexy tattooed stranger in her bed that is definitely not her fiance. What has she been doing the last eleven months?! And why would she jeopardize her perfect future with Max for a rock star that she can't even remember. As her memories return, piece by piece, Hanna learns that all is not what it seems. Can she find the answers she needs before her mother pushes her down the altar?

Lost in Me, is aptly titled. Almost a whole year of Hanna's life is lost in herself and she can only wait patiently for it to return, that's if it returns at all. In the meantime, Hanna's life is moving forward and while she wants to go with the flow and enjoy her new, wonderful, self she can't help but wonder how she got here.
Hanna is a lovable character, but has low self-esteem when it comes to body image. Sometimes this can come off as annoying in characters, especially when they harp on it every other page, happily that was not the case here. Despite that though, Hanna has a positive and caring attitude. I was easily able to empathize with her over the frustration of her lost memories and confusion over two men, though I was rooting for Nate. I did mention hot rock star, didn't I? Pieces of Hanna's past are revealed bit by bit to her, and the reader, which enabled a deeper connection with her character. You're living through the revelations right alongside Hanna, and the merging of her past and present personas.

Packed with raw emotion, sizzling chemistry with two very attractive and seemingly genuine men, and sensational character development Lost in Me was a captivating story with phenomenal writing from author Lexi Ryan. With so many questions left open and a killer ending that put me on the edge of my seat, or bed per se, Book 2 Fall to You, will be one of the most anticipated releases for me this summer!

This book had so much potential it's painful.

The book opens with Hannah having drinks at a bar with her twin sister and her friends. Within a few minutes we learn two three very important things about Hannah: 1) she's extremely insecure, partly due to her weight 2) she feels inferior to her twin sister 3) she's madly, truly, deeply, in love with Max (a man that may or may not be into her twin sister).

The very next chapter is Hannah waking up in the hospital with an engagement ring on her finger and Max at her bedside. There is a lot of confusion, as the last thing Hannah remembers is the bar scene we experienced in the first chapter. As she becomes acquainted with her new life she realizes all her dreams have come true, she's lost a significant amount of weight, she's working her dream job, and she's engaged to her true love.

But she quickly realizes that there is another side to her now perfect life and now she's not sure what to make of the two men in her life or who she can trust.

Sounds interesting, right? Well it was, very much so, until it wasn't.

The book ended on a cliffhanger which, I'm sure, accounts for most of the 4 & 5 star ratings. But there's just one little problem.....the cliffhanger makes absolutely no sense!!!

In the last sentence of the book Hannah finds out she's pregnant. *enter ominous music* But there are two MAJOR issues with this revelation: 1) Hannah is a virgin, or so she's been told by both of her beaus that claim they've never been intimate with her. Okay, so lets say both guys are lying pieces of shit, right; now is it possible? NO!!! Why? 2)Remember how Hannah woke up, from a coma, in the hospital? So what this book is telling me is that Hannah was in the hospital for days and NO ONE ran any kind of test on her that would have revealed that she was pregnant? Wouldn't they have had to run those tests before they even began to administer medicine? Like a simple blood test? Talk about a hole in the plot!!

I honestly did not know what to expect when starting this read. But, I have to say that I really liked it.

Lost in Me kept me on my feet with the suspense and putting all of the puzzle pieces together. In here, Hanna, our female protagonist, finds herself waking up in a hospital only without memory of the last past year.

Not to mention, she is apparently about to be engaged to life long crush, Max. Sounds like a dream come true, right? Not.

As Hanna begins to re-immerse herself with her family and friends, she notices their strange behavior towards her.

She then sets off on a quest to regain what was lost and is shocked with new secrets, events, ad revelations that could be her undoing.

Only, with a sexy as sin rock star. Nate, who wants Hanna for himself and may hold the answers that Hanna is looking for...

My thoughts: I loved this book! It was so different from what I expected and kept me guessing from start to finish!!

I do have to admit that I have a fetish or should I say weakness for tattooed and rock stars so automatically my vote was for Nate before even beginning. To me, in the great scheme of things, Nate is the best choice for Hanna where as Max was kind of a weak and not strong enough to uphold the burden of Hanna.

I do not dig weak characters who have no presence so even more kudos for Nate over Max.

Therefore, NATE FOR THE WIN! Well, at least I hope!! The ending of this book killed me and left me reeling for more!! Can't wait for June to get my hands on book two!!

This book contains so much sex, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! I read this book easily in a few hours, and I thought the story was super intriguing with the amnesia aspect (it reminded me of the movie The Vow). If you don't like love triangles, then you probably wouldn't enjoy this book, but I really liked how this story came together and how you really didn't know which guy to cheer for. The ending was a cliff hanger though, so can't wait for the next book to be released!

Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC!

2.5 This is not a genre I usually read so I know I am in the minority of reviews here. All I can say is that I'm glad that it was short. The main story could have been done without all the sex scenes, that weren't even technically sex. A girl wakes up from a coma and is missing over a year of her life. She is thin and engaged to the man of her dreams, and is still a virgin, or is she?

What a twisty-turny story.

Lost in Me starts off with quite a strong flame, Hanna waking up in a hospital bed with no memory of most of the past year. No memory of dating the guy she has had a lifelong crush on. No memory starting her own business. Certainly no memory of getting engaged.

But waking to an engagement ring on your finger must mean your engaged. Or, maybe not.

Hanna has never been a girl secure in her own skin. She's always seen herself as the least attractive twin, the less desirable sister, the overshadowed friend. Most of us have been there in one form or another so these characteristics make her a very likeable and relatable character. I felt a protection for her from the start, wanting to take her under my wing and beat away any bad thing that approaches her.

Max, didn't give me that same feeling but he seemed very in love with and protective of Hanna from the get go. That changes over a little time but I never got a strong sense of who he is and weather or not I should hate him. Though, that is the direction I'm leaning. He has his moments though, where you can convince yourself that he IS a good guy. That he DOES love her for who she is.

Then you have Nate. HOT. H.O.T. Steamy, hot, Nate. What makes him oh so panty melting is not only the fact that he's a gorgeous rock god, but he's so in love with a girl who has absolutely no memory of him and he isn't afraid to admit. Unfortunately, he isn't afraid to walk away either. Perhaps, he's not even really a good guy.

Though I could understand his confusion and hurt, I wanted him to fight for Hanna more. Like, really dig in your heels and refuse to be pushed away. Big gestures. That's what I was missing. Except, as the puzzle starts to unravel you learn there is more to Nate's story too and those big gestures are not something he is really capable of.

It's all a bit heart wrenching, rooting for a good girl to find someone who truly has her best intentions in mind, who really does love her and wants to spend their life with her. Only to find more dead ends and road blocks at every turn.

What Ryan does so well with Lost in Me is make you feel comfortable with all the main characters at the start, then slowly builds a slight mistrust, a tad bit of wonder...not much, just enough. She lets you marinate in it a little then trows a dash more on, then throws in a new twist that you were not really sure was coming. She keeps you thinking throughout the entire story, always wondering how things happened and where they are going.

I love the mystery that was weaved throughout the story and I loved the way it is all hanging precariously in the balance. Because it makes me so anxious for the next book!

Book me = suspense/thriller.
OMG miooo *•*

Povera me xD

This book brings back some memories. No, nothing that personal.
It is just when I started reading New Adult I have read many books like these; angst, drama, ridiculous plotline, unlikable characters and yup freaking cherry on the top love triangle. It was a way too late to stop reading this when I learned that this is a part of a trilogy with the same couple or three-person drama and yeah you guessed it I am that curious cat who has to read all of it now.

I am pretty sure that I start every review of a Lexi Ryan book off with words to the effect of “I LOVE LEXI RYAN!” I can say that without checking, because EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I read one of her books I just want more. More of the sexy men she creates, more of the sexy scenes those men are in, more of the angst, drama, and emotion that flows through her stories. JUST. MORE.

Lost in Me is different to other books I’ve read lately, heck I think it’s safe to say it’s different to anything I’ve read before. Like the blurb says it’s a sexy amnesia love triangle and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It takes a special book for me to read until I’m done and Lost in Me was one of those books. Who cares that I’m meant to be packing for my family of five to go away for the weekend? Not me when there’s a Lexi Ryan book to be read!

I have wanted to know more about the side characters in the New Hope series since meeting them in Unbreak Me. Hanna is the first one we get to know more about. Right before the story started she had an accident – one that she doesn’t remember – that landed her in hospital with amnesia. She doesn’t remember the last 11 months of her life but she wakes up to see an engagement ring on her finger – and it wasn’t there 11 months ago! Now, if she’s to make sense of it all she has some serious work to go to get back those missing memories.

Hanna’s story sucked me in from the start. There was so much I wanted to know, I felt like I was there with Hanna as she tried to work it all out! How did she fall and lose her memory? Was it an accident? Was she pushed? Can Max, her new fiancé, be trusted? Who’s Nate Crane and what does he have to do with things? Was her life really as perfect as it seems? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS!! It wasn’t just a mystery story though – it wouldn’t be a Lexi Ryan story with a little naughtiness! I’m happy to report that there was plenty and IT. WAS. HOT!! Ha! Thanks, Lexi! *wipes brow*

One thing I have to mention is that this book ends on a MAJOR cliffhanger! I knew that before going in to it and it didn’t bother me. If you don’t like cliffhangers you have been warned! There’s not long to wait for book #2 though, it’s being released at the beginning of June. I say DIVE IN to Lost in Me right now, you might need that month or so until Fall to Me to recover anyway!

I thoroughly recommend Lost in Me (and any other Lexi Ryan book for that matter) and I CANNOT wait for Fall to Me so I can carry on with Hanna’s story as she pieces her life back together.

Lexi writes an epic love story about real life, love, and loss. I can’t wait for Fall To You.

Hanna is a girl after my own heart. She is beautiful inside and out. Lost In Me is a heart-wrenching tale that will have you wanting to believe the fairy tale rather than the truth. The way that Lexi reveals Hanna’s memories is masterful. The anticipation of finding out the secrets and lies being hidden from Hanna had me on the edge of my seat.

We first met Hanna in Un Break Me. She was one of my favorite characters because she was battling her weight and her self-esteem. I can relate to that. She has always had her eye on Max but he had his eye on her sister Lizzy. It came as quite a shock to me when I started reading Lost In Me that Max was engaged to Hanna. I wanted to know how the heck that happened. The really cool thing about the way this story was written is that Hanna herself can’t remember being engaged to Max and can’t believe it either. I felt like I was discovering the mystery behind Hanna’s engagement to Max along with Hanna.

Then there is Nate. He is this gorgeous rock star that has fallen in love with Hanna but she does not remember a thing about him. He is not really interested in telling her about how they met and why he fell for her. This drove me crazy. I was yelling at my iPad at Nate telling him to get over himself and tell her the truth. Of course Lexi just has to throw a monkey wrench out there that Lizzy has a crush on Nate and that forces Hanna to address whatever happened between her and Nate. As more about Nate is revealed the more I found myself falling in love with Nate. It was easy to see how Hanna developed feelings for him so quickly.

Of course no story about New Hope would be complete without Meredith the psycho. I can guarantee that all of you will hate her even more after you have read Lost In Me.

I love how Hanna finds out who she really is through this experience and becomes a stronger person because of it. I will warn you that this story does end with a bit of a cliff-hanger. I am on the edge of my seat waiting with great anticipation for Fall To You.

This is the first book in a 3 part series, so yes it does end with a cliff-hanger and it’s a pretty big one. I can’t wait for next book in June.
The story is about Hanna, who has just woke up after an accident to find she can’t remember anything from the last year of her life. She is now engaged to Max a man she always thought was out of reach. She also has lost a lot of weight and has the body she always wanted. But then there is also the mysterious Nate, who she can’t remember at all but seems to know a lot about her.
Hanna I thought came across as a great character as she tried to put together the events of her life over last year. She does have low self-esteem when it comes to her weight but whereas in other books this comes as whiny Hanna doesn’t. She is a likeable character. Max on the other hand I kept changing my mind about, I think I came to the conclusion that there was something about him that couldn’t be trusted. I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Nate on the other hand is very mysterious and we only really get to know him more towards the end of the book. Therefore as with others I’m on team Nate.
The book has lots of emotion and some angst. It is very well written and flows really well. The little flashback of Hanna’s memory are seamlessly written in to the story. The story will suck you in from the beginning. I just can’t wait for the next book now after that cliff-hanger. Hurry up June!
