In The Forgotten Feminine, Denise Jordan offers a prophetic perspective that has long been forgotten in the history of Christianity. She clearly and passionately presents the fuller understanding that God is both masculine and feminine and that we are created fully in His image as male and female. She shows us that the war being waged by the enemy against femininity is for a very specific reason, that is, to destroy the image of God. She teaches us about God’s mothering heart to comfort and nurture His children. This book is timely and relevant, as God is beginning to pour His love into the foundations of the Church as it was in the beginning. It is written in a fusion of theology, story and reflection to bring a deeper revelation of God to the human heart.
Denise Jordan’s book enlightens so many Scriptures by showing the fullness of God, and His creation, by identifying throughout the Bible. The feminine and masculine characteristics breathed into Adam, a type of Christ and Eve, a type of the Bride of Christ, His church. He is our Comforter and Nurturer. We are welcomed and loved in ways I am only discovering.
Astonishing book. I loved how Denise explained her ideas about the Mother heart of God using Scripture. Beautiful teaching. I sorely needed this book and am so glad I stumbled upon it, probably by divine "coincidence". :-)
An absolutely beautiful understanding of who our God really is! His love is so whole that it encompasses all of you. His love is so tender and sweet that you can rest and find peace in it! A must read!
Denise looks at the feminine part of God's image, which reflects the feminine part of God's heart, and how the church and the world has suffered because of the suppression of the feminine (motherly heart of God). As part of the curse, there was enmity between satan and the woman. But Jesus has redeemed that, and it's time for the church to receive the feminine heart -- the love and nurture of God. Denise ministers deeply in helping us to understand why we need so much God's motherly love and nurture.
Very good! She uses CS Lewis and and John G Lake a lot I very much enjoyed this read and got a lot of perspective on God as not just my Father but my Mother.
