"There used to be someone that would catch him — but since then, Xie Lian has become an expert at taking a good fall. Learning how to brace for impact. Never panicking.
And he supposes, in the end, in might be fate. After all, he loved the boy who fell first.

This is still great. Knowing the whole story I'm soooo, so worried about Shi Wudu and Pei Ming, Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan, even Xie Lian and San Lang. I love everybody so much.

Just as much as I hate Jun Wu. We get to see more of him here, being an emperor. And we see just how horrible and petty he is. Ugh.

We finally see a lot of interactions between San Lang and Xie Lian. And even though most of it repeats what happens in the original books, there's enough good new content.

And the author keeps on thinking of the new ways to hurt us. It's so painful and so beautiful... I can only keep admiring this fanfiction. After all, this volume made me feel things for Pei Ming and even Shi Wudu. And I equally worry about new characters as well.

What a great tale. Cannot wait to read on.

Bro, I was planning on taking a break after the last book, but knowing the HuaLian was coming together had me SHOOKETH.

- Starting with Yin Yu sprinting through the halls excited with news of XL is *chef's kiss*. He's so excited to get praised for his work, too.
And then it gets 100x better when you realize that he doesn't even know that XL already ascended-- he just has a vague idea of his whereabouts based on intel 80 years in the works-- and then He Xuan instantly bursts his bubble with news of XL's actual appearance.
- HOLY FUCKING SHIT JUN WU AND SHI WUDU ARE NOT A COUPLE. NO. WTF. HAHAHAHA.
- Actually love seeing XL interacting with MQ and FX, especially when it's so clear that he already knows their identities and appreciates their presence so deeply.
-At first, examining the situation from a different perspective, I found it odd that HC would find XL and all he would do is lead him up a mountain before leaving him (something I never questioned while reading the novel). But knowing how much HC was feeling in that moment, it makes sense that he'd have to leave for a bit to regroup-- of course while still monitoring dianxia closely with a butterfly.
- Yin Yu's character is so funny. Watching him lose his mind and mourn his job will never not be funny. I hope he gets a happy ending.
- Very happy to see plenty of FX & MQ rage-flirting, and XL being absolutely clueless about it. The reveal will be 100x more fun with XL not expecting a thing.
- Very curious how XL's cursed shackles keep bothering him... especially when it happened under heavenly light...
- Interesting addition of Ren Song, Autumn Twilight Shrouding Forests, who was one of the children Hua Cheng rescued from Mount Tonglu and now seems set to become a Calamity.
- W-W-WAIT SHI WUDU AND PEI MING TOO??
Omg and Jun Wu then gets possessive (creepy) and that's why the Banyue arc happens, because he wants to take something away from Pei Ming in return (Pei Xiu). Shiiiit....
- Honestly, it's weird to see Pei Ming as anything but comedic relief. I guess we do get a bit more out of him when dealing with his old sword and run-in with the Rain Master, but still. It's odd seeing him headed for tragedy with the way things look with Shi Wudu (and we all know how that ends).
- Nooo why is XL so thirsty for San Lang *covers face in embarrassment* To be fair, he reminds XL of Hong-er. But stillllll XD
- Looooved the addition of HC telling the story of the Flower Crowned Martial God to the kids, just like the intro to the donghua. And XL getting all flustered by the praise...
- When you think about it, the heavens-wide communication array is just one big group chat, and can you imagine having that inside your mind?? There must be a way to put it on mute.
Anyway, this is just to say: if my two introvert friends can hound me day and night in our group chat, I can only imagine what is going on in the heavens.
- I live for FengQing bickering. It's done so well here haha.
- Well well well... Didn't expect Shi Qingxuan and "Ming-xiong" to already be in a... relationship. *bombastic side eye*
Nah but hold up, He Xuan's betrayal later is gonna be so foul... Fuck...
- Typical of fanfics, we are leaning heavily towards the PTSD side of things, and honestly, I'm kinda for it. I've always loved how callous XL can be of his own suffering and admired his resilience (dude really is a god amongst gods), but this is fun too. He keeps getting reminded of awful things in his past and reacts appropriately, and I just can't wait for HC to find out and freak the fuck out.
- Love He Xuan lowkey freaking out in the Private Communication Array after meeting San Lang in Banyue.
- Zoo-wee-mama, lotsa relationship-ing goin' on here. FX and MQ are close to doin' the deed (if we can get past MQ's cultivation method requirements. But if XL can do it no problem, then I see no issue). HX and SQQ are repeatedly doin' the dirty, and Pei Ming has got an ongoing relationship with Shi Wudu to my perpetual surprise.
- Absjllansiwpnskqbwo just love HC's simping for XL. This one line just sent me: [Xie Lian's] eyelashes brush against his cheeks as he speaks.
Hua Cheng has counted each of them a hundred times...

- The inclusion of the special blade... The God Slayer... ??? Scared.
- I love SQQ's dialogue. It's just so... SQQ.
- LMAO XL CROSSDRESSING AGAIN (except this time as an actual woman). It was so brief that I didn't really see the point, until Ren Song appears and defends XL. Makes sense, since blind XL really ain't gettin' anywhere without a guide.
- Love that the author kept XL's perpetual indecision on whether to laugh or cry...
- Every time our San Lang is so considerate of our blind prince by heart goes WHEEEEEEEEE
- I love how this time around, everyone working in the gambler's den knows who XL is and treats him so respectfully. And their utter shock/horror when XL offers his body as collateral when betting... you can tell they're terrified HAH.
- When the "guest" shoes in HC's manor fit XL perfectly: "It really is an odd coincidence!" HAH.
- Nah, now wait a damn minute. HC designed Jiang Cheng's whip ring, okay. But then when he says he doesn't FIGHT with whips and XL notices the odd phrasing?? I-- Is this suggesting what I think it's suggesting???
- XL's fear of spiders is as absurd as it is funny.
- I was already a big fan of LQQ's crush on XL, and I love that he doesn't really believe XL was the murderer behind the Gilded Banquet tragedy.
- Just wanna say that as soon as the root tripped LQQ on his way to murder Qi Rong, I knew that was Ren Song because of his own vendetta against Qi Rong, followed quickly by the thought that oh my god these two are so gonna become a thing.
Because it's perfect: LQQ gets to heal from his fateful first love with XL and RS gets to not fade away with nothing left to live for after the death of Qi Rong. They're both lonely AND share the desire to see Qi Rong fucking eradicated. Except it's more complicated since Ren Song doesn't want his resentment to disperse and allow him to move on.
- Seriously though, XL's arachnophobia is HILARIOUS
