Money- there just never seems to be enough of it.

Weekend Entrepreneur: 101 Great Ways to Earn Extra Cash is an idea book on how to earn a little extra cash in your spare time. The book is essentially a listing of 101 work at home businesses that anyone can do without special training and without a lot of expensive start up equipment. Most of these projects could easily grow into full fledge businesses given the right amount of motivation and commitment by the entrepreneur. Each potential suggestion includes the story of a real life business person who used that particular idea to earn a little extra money or to start their own successful business.

Once the reader has chosen a project that not only interests them but suits their particular needs and lifestyle, then he or she can also use this book as a reference. Part III of this book focuses on "success strategies". This information includes useful hints about licensing, patent, trademarks, and marketing your service or product.

Great book to use as a springboard for ideas. Some ideas are simple (almost no-brainers), and others are a little bit more involved (requiring more money and time investment to start up). I did not read to the end of the book that went into more detail about setting up, strategies, etc. because I figured out what I was interested in and found a book that catered to that interest.

The small business librarian at my library also recommended going to http://www.entrepreneur.com/businessi.... On the right hand side there's a "business idea finder" that serves a similar purpose as the book. Very inspirational for people who want to be their own boss!

Although this is not a book that I read page by page, I did enjoy the feel of the writing. I like to think that I'm an entrepreneur at heart, and I found more than a few ideas that I have kept in mind. Although the descriptions give a pretty vague overview, they are able to get the general idea of the job across to the reader in a manner to which just about anyone can relate.

There is also a wonderfully helpful list of websites and resource books in the back, which I fully intend on going through! My hope is that a majority of the sites on the list are still functional.

This book is encouraging, but the only thing it does is tell the ways that other people were able to do it. The problem I find with that is that instead of being an instruction book, like the title suggests, it is a compilation of things that have already been tried (and worked but in many cases would be hard to recreate because it already exists).

Eh, I was kind of put off by the foreword on this book. I went through the ideas, but a lot of the content I've read before. I did pick up a few tips that I'll try out, but overall it was not as useful as I had hoped.

A few good ideas for everyone from this book to start a hobby / business to make extra income. I did not read this book front to end; just the topics I found interesting. Overall an ok read.
