Cool under pressure… Until now.

Hostile Operations Team sniper Jack “Hawk” Hunter is cool, methodical, and utterly lethal. Nothing rattles Jack’s calm. But that was before he learned he fathered a child three years ago—a child who has just been kidnapped.

Gina Domenico is a superstar, a pop sensation with a string of hit records. But deep inside, she’s still the lonely girl she’s always been. When Jack saved her from an arms dealer, they spent three unforgettable days together waiting for rescue—and Gina fell hard for the sexy soldier before he walked away forever.

But now she needs his help and she’ll do anything to get it. Though Jack can never forgive Gina for keeping his child from him, he’ll do everything in his power—and HOT’s—to bring their son home safely.

Nothing is what it seems, however, and their fates hang in the balance as someone else pulls the strings…and brings them ever closer to an explosive confrontation that could either save their son—or cost them everything.

4 Action Packed and Sexy Stars

Even if you were thinking about something other than my gun, I'm not interested," he told her. "Not ever again. You're gorgeous and you know it. But you're a fucking liar- and I can't stand a liar."

Three years ago pop sensation, Gina Domenico, was at the wrong place at a very wrong time. Caught on the wrong side of flying bullets during a mission, she's rescued by the sexy HOT operator and sniper, Jack “Hawk” Hunter. Jack knows he has no business with the beauty, especially since her fame can cost them their carefully planned op. But that doesn't stop them from sharing three passionate days together...to never hear from each other again.

Three years later the last person that Jacks expects to get a phone call from is Gina when her son is kidnapped. But what he expects even less is to find out that he fathered that child. To say he's furious is an understatement. He may never forgive Gina for keeping his son from him, but he will stop at nothing from getting him back.

Jack was one of those heroes that no matter how much of an asshole he may have been to Gina at times, you can't help but to feel for him. Having lost his wife all those years ago changed him and he know's he'll never be able to replace that one time love.

I really appreciated that the author never downplayed Jack's love for his wife while at the same time never making it feel like Gina was a consolation prize. Miss Harris did a fantastic job painting the picture of a man that lost a young love and struggles when he begins to develop feelings for a different woman. That's not to say that he didn't have his asshole moments, because he certainly did...a lot of them. (But then again, I'm into that sort of thing)

Gina was sassy and take charge, while also dealing with her own painful past and not so smooth present. That doesn't mean that she lets Jack walk all over her. She gave as good as she got, and then some.
Sex sells, baby. Or haven't you heard."
"Then you're doing a fine job of selling it."
"You're an asshole, you know that? You don't get to judge me or make assumptions about my business just because I'm wearing a dress that makes you hard. Jerk off tonight if you must, but blame yourself, not me."

The chemistry between these two was positively sizzling. As hard as they try to fight their attractions, it is pretty much inevitable that eventually they'll give in. Gina knows that Jack will never forgive her, but that doesn't stop her heart from falling for a man that may never feel anything other than lust for her.

Hot Shot was another sexy and action packed installment in the HOT series that you are not going to want to put down for a second. I especially loved the banter between Jack and Gina...
This thing won't go off, will it?"
"No. But don't pull it no matter what. It's for me, not you."
"The damn thing is between MY legs."
"I know. Guns and pussy. Two of my favorite things on earth."

The author gives us a perfectly built romance in the midst of high action ops and suspense.

Each book only continues to get better, and I cannot wait to read Victoria and Nick's book next. That set up sounds utterly delicious. If you're a fan of sexy romantic suspense, I can't recommend this series enough.

Secret baby military romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💜💚
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 😊😘😟🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Gina Domenico - she is a successful pop star and a huge celebrity. Though she sometimes feels the need to get out of the limelight. So, when she meets a charming, wealthy greek businessman and he asks her to go away for a few weeks on his yacht and to a villa on a Caribbean Island, she agrees to go. It isn’t long before she finds out that the man is not the nice, charming man she first met, and he refuses to let her go.

The Hero: Jack Hunter (a.k.a. Hawk) - he is a military sniper on the Hostile Operations Team. He is a widow and is still mourning his childhood sweetheart who was pregnant when she died in a car accident a few years ago. He and his team are tasked with assassinating that same greek man that Gina is with. He is an arms dealer that is working with terrorists.

The Story: Jack and his team are surprised when they see the superstar through the sights on his rifle and when the terrorists arrive, he has no choice but to take out his target and the terrorists. However, he is afraid that Gina will get blamed. When Gina takes off and wrecks the car she is driving, Jack finds her in the jungle, and they spend three days together until they can get his team to extract them.

I liked this story, it had action, suspense and a good romance. Though I usually hate it when one of the main characters is grieving a partner that they really loved, it didn’t take up too much of the story. This was also a secret baby trope, which is one of my favorites. It had plenty of steam and a good storyline about the baby getting kidnapped. There is also a good storyline about Jack getting to know his son and coming to terms with having kid and seeing a celebrity.

This audiobook was done in multiple points of view via solo narration. It was narrated by Aiden Snow, who is one of my favorite male narrators. He has a deep yet soft voice which is sexy, and he is great at using different voices for different characters. Plus, his voice for female characters is not annoying like some narrators.

The mission is to eliminate the top man of the gun running group and to get out as quickly as possible. It was Jack’s job as sniper to pull the trigger but in his scope he spots a woman who is obviously being mistreated by the boss’ bodyguards so he shoots them too. Jack stays behind and helps the woman to escape and find somewhere safe to stay until the team could extract.

Whilst hiding out Jack struggles with the fact the woman was no other than Gina Demenico, the famous pop star. This is the singer who his wife, who had been killed in a car accident, had idolised and ever since she had been killed he hadn’t been able to bear to listen to any of her songs. They talk and start to get to know each other and despite trying to resist they give in to the attraction between them but Jack warns her that it can go nowhere, that it will only be sex and that at the end he will walk away.

Fast forward three years…….Jack receives a call out of the blue from Gina pleading with him to help her save her son who had been kidnapped, Once he gets to her location she drops the bombshell that the boy was the result of their time together three years ago! Needless to say Jack was shocked and then angry that Gina had never told him but he quickly kicks into gear to try and find his son. After being led astray they eventually find out who has kidnapped their boy and why, and they set off with back-up from the H.O.T. team to go and get him back.

Hot Shot is another extremely well written romantic suspense story, the connection and sexual tension between Jack and Gina is there right from the beginning, the balance between the romance and the suspense is excellent with a few twists thrown in to keep the reader engaged from start to finish.

When Jack's team is called on a mission they never expected to find Gina a famous singer with their target. When the situation is taken care of Gina didn't stop to think she just ran after seeing several men killed. Noticing she was being followed Gina hid only to run into Jack. Jack's late wife loved Gina's music so he knew he couldn't leave her without a chance to get free, and when she found him after fleeing he knew he had to protect her. After spending three days together they both parted ways when Jack made it clear he wasn't over his late wife Hayley. But not before he got Gina pregnant.

Three years later Gina's son has been taken not knowing what else to do Gina found Jack. When Jack got a call from Gina he was surprised and saddened that her son was kidnapped but knew she had to call the authorities. Knowing Gina's secret had to finally come out Gina told Jack they had a son. Now Jack and his team are working against a clock to save Eli Jack and Gina's son, When it is made clear that someone from Gina's past has other plans Jack and his team steps in to protect Gina and Eli.. As Jack and Gina spend more time together neither can deny the feeling they have but Jack isn't over his wife and isn't sure he will ever be.

As Gina beings to fall in love with Jack his love for his deceased wife makes her wonder if they will ever be anything but Eli's parents and when she thinks nothing else will happen between them they all realize that the threat was never gone and Gina and Eli are once again in danger. As Jack try's to save his son and Gina he will have to decide if he has room in his heart for anyone but Hayley.

UGH this book was a pain and very hard to read. This story was about Jack, and Gina but they star of this book was Hayley Jack's deceased wife. I don't pretend to have a clue what it would be like to loose a spouse but if I am reading romance I don't want my hero to love his ex or deceased spouse more or close to the heroine and Jack loved Hayley period. If you asked me who Jack loved at the beginning of this book I would say Hayley, if you asked who he loved in the middle of this book I would say Hayley, and if you asked me who he loved MOST at the end I would say Hayley. She was mentioned more than Gina and in fact at 93% Jack says he loves them both, seriously. I was so sick of hearing about Hayley while reading this book that I struggled just to finish it.

I also get that hiding a baby is wrong Gina shouldn't have done it but I also understood it Jack made it clear he still loved his wife and didn't want kids and there was nothing between them. But Gina was still wrong. Having said that I think through most of this book Jack was a jerk, and I think he treated Gina like crap and I also got sick of him complaining about how much Gina made. Get over it she rich but she made it all on her own and used to be homeless give the girl a break and grow up. I do think this book was written very well but in the end I think Gina and Eli deserved someone better, I also think in the end if Hayley had come walking in the door that Jack would have dropped both Gina and Eli for Hayley(oh how romantic).

Very pleasantly surprised by this romantic suspense novel that I've had on my TBR for a while. I haven't read any of the other series so I came to this basically with no expectations. I'm not even sure why I purchased it in the first place.

So any way I found it very well written. The action sequences were tense and believable. The romantic relationship between the two leads was very well done. The attraction and sexual tension was believable and progressed at a beleivable rate considering the story line. Characterization was wonderful. The hero was a recent widower when they met and you could really see where he was coming from. I was happy here that it didn't turn out that he had never really loved his first wife as soon often happens in romance novels. The heroine was a rock star, not usually one of the tropes I enjoy but it was well done here. They had a lot of stuff going against their relationship but a lot of honest feeling to hold things together so their HEA was ultimately believable.

Gotta read the rest of the series now.

Everytime I think Lynn Raye Harris cannot possibly do it, she writes another addition to the Hostile Operations Team that I LOVE!!! Jack and Gina have so much "baggage" that I was honestly despairing that they were ever going to get their HEA... but they did (THANK GOD!!).

Now if you just wrote a story about Nick and Victoria... (HINT, HINT...)

I’m a huge fan of the military romance genre. HUGE fan. I’m also a big fan of the secret baby trope. So to have them combined in a single book? Yeah, there’s no chance I wasn’t going to read HOT Shot.

Hostile Operations Team sniper Jack Hunter saved celebrity pop singer Gina Domenico from her arms-dealing boyfriend three years ago, and things between them turned hot and heavy during the three days they were waiting to be rescued from the island where they were stranded. Despite their intense chemistry, Jack knew his career wasn’t compatible with being in a relationship with a famous person so he said goodbye and never spoke to her again...until a phone call from Gina asking for his help.

When Gina’s young son was kidnapped she knew the only person she could turn to for help was Jack. She also knew she’d have to tell Jack that her son was also his…

Jack is understandably angry at Gina’s news. But he’s not about to lose the chance to meet his son. And when it turns out HOT has a connection to the person who kidnapped his son, the whole team is in on the rescue mission.

This was an action-packed story and a satisfying romance. However, I like my military romances to have a little more balance between the military/suspense part and the romance. This one was a little heavy on the “hot and heavy” for me...if your young child has been kidnapped by a dangerous man, are you really going to be so interested in gettin’ busy on a plane right before the rescue mission??? Less Pecs More Plot is my motto, especially when a life is on the line, and this one spent too much time talking about how hawt the hero is and how all that hawtness affected the heroine's body parts. But otherwise, I really enjoyed this book.

I’ve read a couple other books in this series, but it’s been a while. I’ll have to remember that if I’m in the mood for a quick and satisfying military romance, Lynn Raye Harris is another good option!

"I love you. Whether you like it or not, now you know." - Gina Domenico

Well, no one said you have to like all the guys in a series, right? And while I don't get this not-exactly-hatred feeling often, it still was loud and clear in this book.

Jack "Hawk" Hunter never expected to fall in love again after his wife's untimely death. But three years after rescuing a popular pop idol, Gina Domenico, he finds out the woman gave birth to his son - a son that was created during some passionate moments while the pair waited for Jack's team to come get them. Now said son is kidnapped, and someone is sending Gina threatening messages. Can Jack finally get over his dead wife in order to embrace a future with a new family in it? And if so, will he make it in time to save both his son, and the woman that has started meaning much more than he first thought for him?

Ok, so Jack wasn't my favourite character in the series - or the book. He was hot, and lethal, and a complete Alpha male, delicious and all - but he grated on my nerves a little too much. I understand he had already lost a woman precious to him, and that he hated how Gina had lied to him, but, as the pop star herself said, it's not like she had much of a choice! She was protecting not only his reputation by not telling him anything, but also his heart, because she knew he wouldn't want her the same way she wanted him. What's a girl supposed to do when a guy deals her such cards, huh?

So, yeah, I didn't exactly feel for him. I didn't hate him, either, by the way. It's just that, compared to the rest of the H.O.T. guys, Jack wasn't one I would fangirl over...

Gina, on the other hand, was amazing! I loved her humor, her motherly streaks, and most of all, her sass. Whenever Jack was cranky and at his worst behavior towards her - which was the majority of the first half of the book - she pulled on her big girl panties and gave as good as she got! She didn't mind admitting her feelings and she didn't give a rat's butt what he thought - she knew she had every right to feel and talk as she liked, and she kept doing it like a boss! Ans she knew that a man may be worth the effort, but not your life when you have started from zero and reached the top with your own sweat and tears. She was a good mother despite her career, and she didn't allow anyone to tell her to stop doing what she was so good at - performing - just because it was inconvenient. I admit I may have cringed a little with that "bodyguard" suggestion to Jack, but I guess she was entitled after all the crap he put her through.

Now, while Jack may not be my favourite guy, his book sure had the best plot in the series - hence the five stars. It was fast-paced, packed in action and suspense, and the plot twists made the ride with Jack's moods worthwhile. The guys as a team are really funny and well-matched, and now, with Lucky in the mix, it's even better and more fun!

I can't wait to see what Harris has in store for the rest of the H.O.T. hotties!!!

"I love you. Even if you lose all your money and grow a wart on your nose, I love you." - Jack 'Hawk' Hunter

Originally reviewed for Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and Fantasy.

Intense, fast paced, emotional ringer!! Lynn Raye Harris continues her Hostile Operations Series by playing on a parent's greatest fear.. Someone kidnapped her child! HOT Shot is her 5th book in this series and each one pulls a different string, captures a different emotion and makes you just want to come back for more..

Three years ago, singer Gina Domenico found herself the "girlfriend' of a very dangerous man. Afraid she may never escape his private island retreat, she is still terrified when all of the men around her start dropping like flies. Smart enough to get out of Dodge before anyone else shows up, Gina gets out fast. Only to get lost in the rain forest when the car she is using ends up in a ditch. Not sure who to trust she takes off on her own. Only to run into Jack “Hawk” Hunter. Fortunately he is one of the good guys and offers to keep her safe until help can come. Knowing she can't survive on her own, Gina is forced to trust him. And for three days they survive in a small cave.. an intimacy is formed and finally on their last day they give in to the attraction. Now it's three and a half years later and the baby conceived in that cave has been kidnapped. Gina is once again lost and is forced to call the only man she can really trust.. the baby's father. Only he doesn't know about his son.

Jack “Hawk” Hunter loved once and loved deeply, when his wife and unborn child died in a tragic accident he cut himself off from any chance of future romance. Refusing to even act on an attraction to any woman until his time with Gina. But once they were out each went their separate ways.. When Jack gets a call from Gina, of course he wants to help but when he discovers it's his child. He is furious! How dare she???

A Great, Great read!! Emotions are all over the place. Yes it's a second chance romance and those always hit me emotionally but this was so much more. Jack and Gina have to work together to find out who stole their child and what can they do to get him back. Jack has to deal with his anger and his fear. His anger at Gina for never letting him go and his fear of starting any sort of relationship. His fear of loss. But this time he doesn't have a choice.. he has a son so no matter what he is going to be there.

Gina has to really learn who she can trust, has to wonder who would betray her. The only thing she really knows it the attraction is still there. Now she has to decide just how much she is willing to risk to have Jack in her life for good.

Ms. Harris gives us a particularly skeevy villain with some rather excellent minions. It's not enough that some whack job kidnaps her child but what he really wants makes your skin crawl.

And yes we do get to see more of the rest of the team. So once again we get to enjoy a group of individuals who are willing to put their lives on the line for each other..

A most excellent read. It can be read as a stand alone but again, why would you want to? Check out this series..

Jack Hunter is a man consumed by his job. He has nothing to live for now that the love of his life along with his unborn child died in an accident. As a sniper nothing can break his concentration on his targets, then someone HOT never expected to be at the compound walks into view; Gina Domenico – one of the world’s most popular pop stars, and his wife Hayley’s favorite. Not only must Jack execute his mission but as fate would have it he must also rescue Gina. He never thought he would ever see her again after the transport found them, but three years later he answered his phone and the desperation in her voice changed his life forever.

Gina maybe a pop superstar but she has not forgotten her past and the hard life that fostered the inner toughness that resonates so well in this story. She is no way the toughest heroine in the HOT series but she fits in nicely with all the ladies. Her presence even helps show a softer side of Lucky. Gina is warm, forgiving and has a sharp wit and tongue when needed. Some of her exchanges with Jack made me chuckle and others made me want to give her a high-five for putting him in his place. Jack is the typical HOT hero, an alpha who doesn’t have that much of a softer side. He has reason to be angry with Gina when they meet again, but for me he held the grudge a little too long. The grudge might also have to do with the fact that Gina lives a lifestyle he has never known or could ever afford. Jack has a hard time realizing there could be enough love in his heart for Hayley and Gina; and he realizes he really hasn’t gotten over the loss of his wife and unborn child. Gina does lack patience with this, which I questioned given the timeline of the book.

The nature of the plot makes a blossoming romance tricky. It was a tense situation and a quick succession of steamy scenes would seem rather a stretch for these characters and the plot. Because of that this book seems to have less steamy scenes; however the ones that are included are a pleasure to read. It is a quick plot with an epilogue a few months later. Outside of the great interaction between Gina and Jack were the appearances of all the other HOT heroes and their ladies. By the end of the book you really got a sense of how close all these characters are. Outside of the HOT characters there are few secondary characters, a tight “cast” is something I love as it is easier to read. This book has the right amount of action and steam and a few heart string pulling moments too.

Hot Shot is the fifth book in the series, and while I was frustrated that I didn’t get to read it right away when it was released, I am now so happy that I have the next book (and the one after that) sitting on my kindle right now so that I can immediately dive into the next installment. I enjoy the HOT series immensely and right now I am on a binge read!

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.

4 Exciting Stars!

When Jack and his team move in on an arms dealer in the Caribbean the last thing they expect is for their targets girlfriend to be there, much less for his girlfriend to be Gina Domenico, a pop-star sensation! Following through with their mission they eliminate the target, but when his bodyguards emerge from the house and being to manhandle Gina, Jack acts on instinct and kills them as well and saving Gina to escape on her own.

Splitting up on the island from his team Jack run into Gina and the two hide out in a cave for three days, learning literally everything about each other, including intimately.

Now three years later Jack is working and coin his own thing, when he gets a call from Gina, who he hasn't spoken to since they were reduced by his team. She's frantic and begging for his help to fins her missing son Eli. What's a man to do but say yes?

Litlle does he know Gina's about to turn his world upside down when she tells him that Eli isn't really adopted as she led the world to believe but is actually hers', and his.

Enlisting the help of his Black Ops team to reduce the son he never even knew he had, he must come to terms with the fact that Gina had lied to him about having a child.

Rescuing baby Eli is only half the battle and when Gina's fame and fortune begin to mix with Jack's super secret military life he begins to wonder if he and Gina could ever be something real, or are they two polar opposites.

And when the threat towards his new found family occurs for the second time, he will do everything in his power to keep them safe.

-----

Super exciting read!

I loved this book, I read it all in one sitting. JAck was such a lovable character as were all of his team member. Gina was also super strong which I loved. If anything she was the more dominate character where Jack was always on the defensive with his feelings and where he wanted his life to go. It was a good contrast from the super alpha caveman, although he certainly was when it came to protecting both Eli and Gina.

I loved his interaction with Eli, the string cheese scene I mean come on swoooonnnnn. I wish there was more of them!

Overall amazing read, a definite must read this summer!

What a great story! I can't believe how many dark and erotic romances I've been reading lately. This book was refreshing and came along at the right time. Although Hot Shot is book 5 in the Hostile Operations Team series, I felt like it could be read as a standalone. I have not read any of the other books in the series and now plan to catch up on them. This book has appearances of several of the previous couples, but nothing that keeps you from understanding the overall storyline.

The author does a great job at grabbing us from the beginning of the intense connection between Gina and Jack. You're always rooting for them to somehow make it all work. Without giving away any spoilers, I did wish the ending went the other way around. Hopefully with their decision, this will create more opportunities for great characters of future stories.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from the author/publisher for an honest review.

Jack, he's not one taking some shocking news lightly, "if you're telling the truth," he snarled, "you have no idea how much I want to strangle you right now. You effing lies, Gina. To the world. To me." We also learn that where Gina is concerned the boy has no control, "I'm sorry for being a d*** earlier. That's what I came here to say. Not for this." He shook his head. "But you were naked, and I lost my mind. Seem to do that a lot with you." Also he's do anything for his girl even if it means him going without, "damn." He let out a low whistle. "You don't want much, babe. Just to cripple me with the worst case of blue balls I'm likely to ever have." I loved this book, I loved Jack, I love how after he cools down he sees the upsides and Gina's side of things.

This author writes one of those must read black ops series that is as good as Maya Banks & Cindy Gerard! Her own original series meshes perfect, but does not copy or reproduce story lines similar to the other books.

AND YES!! I was up all night reading this book!!

Gina's baby is kidnapped & she calls Jack to help her get back the son he never knew existed.

A one liner makes this book totally predictable, but it was exciting & nerve racking at times & I couldn't put it down.

I really like a crazy villain & I think he is... He wants Gina and her son for his own. Too bad so sad, Jack isn't going to let that happen!

Okay this one was 100% my favorite one. I knew I was going to like Jack’s (Hawks) story because he was the one that really intrigued me when I was introduced to all the guys. I’ve been so excited to read his book and I was definitely not disappointed.

Jack is very closed off and cold. He’s had a tragic life and now doesn’t trust love. Of course I can’t forget to mention all of his tattoos because y’all know how much I love a guy with tats. He’s also a badA sniper who is very protective of his woman.

Meet Gina, a pop star who is misunderstood to be stuck up and rude. She’s self made and has earned every single penny. Gina and Jack meet accidentally when he’s on a mission that she just so happens to be the hostage of, unknowingly though. They end up getting stranded alone together for three days, and things happen.

Now three years later and Gina has a child and suddenly needs Jacks help again, and she drops a bomb on him, letting him know that her child is also his. I will say, in the preview of jacks story in the fifth book it was hinted that Gina adopted the child but then the author spoils that in her authors note before the book starts.

Now Jack and Gina have to work together to get their child back all while trying to figure out how they feel about each other.

I absolutely adored this book and the whole concept. I loved seeing Jack as a dad and it just melted my heart. The angst was perfect and just made the romance 100000x better. I’m excited to see snippets of them in the future books.

Every time I pick up one of the new HOT series books I always know for a sure fire fact am in for a heck of ride. Action, suspense, super hot men, spicy sex scenes and emotional drama all packed into a excellent plot.

But what I also always think is that this author cannot possibly do it better than the last time, and you know what , I could not be more wrong. This time the author surprised me over and over again with fascinating characters , a heck of a plot and twits and turns I had no idea was coming.

The read tells of Jack " Hawk" Hunter, the number one sniper to the HOT team, he's always cool and calm under pressure. Deep down he hides a broken heart after the death of his wife and unborn child, but he still gets up everyday and does his job to perfection.

Then he lets go for a few hours when he finds number one sexier than sin pop star Gina Demenico in his arms screaming his name and not being able to have enough of him. But at the end of their three day hideout Jack walks away and makes it clear this will never happen again and there is no future for them, it was just sex and that's all it will ever be.

Three years later Gina's son is kidnapped and she 's desperate for help, she knows Jack is the most lethal man she knows, and if there is anyone that can rescue her baby boy Jack and his team are the men for the job. All she has to do is make contact with Mr Hot Shot Sniper , beg him for help and oh yes tell him that Eli is in fact his son !

This read was beyond fabulous and so, so SO super sexy. I loved the heat between Jack and Gina it was electrifying and so intense it totally made me lose my breath. The plot of this read could not have been more awesome, I loved the entire 'let's go rescue our son and try not to have too much sexual tension get to us along the way " idea. It made for super awesome moments of conflict that when finally hitting the 'this is enough and now we're going for it' scenes leap from the pages with such astounding epic amazement it left me in complete awe of this author's writing.

The action and suspense was as in the previous HOT reads simply fabulous. The intensity of the build up to the who dunnit and the total 'wow did not see that coming' was incredible. I truly thought I had the kidnapper all figured out and ready to be brought down and then it went the total opposite direction, really incredible keeping you on the edge of your seat stuff!

I am taking away a message that in life there are no guarantees, we love, we lose, we fall. But if we don't get back up and try again we will just fall further back in a hole there is no getting out of, make a compromise or two and you will be more than surprised to learn there is life after death.

To wrap it up, we have an awesome plot, a truly off the charts hotter than hot sniper, a little bit of a lost popstar wanting to please her fans, a murderous disgusting madman, a twist of fate , super hot sex and a team ready to kill on command anyone that dares mess with those they love, loads of action and guns blazing and two people both with a lot of baggage that need to learn how to build a future together. The absolute perfect combination of a kick-ass read.

The author has once again proved she is the ultimate master in creating the perfect action romantic suspense reads. I cannot wait for the next HOT read!

I highly recommend this book for all fans of action romantic suspense reads. Guns, mystery, drama, action , romance and a whole lot of amazing awesomeness. A thrilling delicious , toe curling , take my breath away read from a brilliant author.

When Jack “Hawk” Hunter and his team are deployed to take out the leader of a gun running group they never expected to have to save pop star Gina Demenico. Gina trusted the wrong man and now needs an escape to get away from this evil man. When she runs into Jack, a sniper from the military he offers to help her escape. For three days Jack and Gina have to hide in a cave awaiting transportation off the island. When things start to heat up Jack makes it clear that nothing would ever come out from their time together. It was a one time thing. Jack is still grieving over the loss of his wife and unborn child who died in a car accident while Jack was on deployment. Jack doesn’t like to admit that Gina stirred feeling in him that he never wanted to feel again.

It has been three years since Jack and Gina went their separate ways. When Gina gets into contact with Jack again it’s not to rekindle old feeling or to check up on one another. Gina is in desperate need of help. Her son has been kidnapped and the only person that she knows who can get him back is Jack and his team of men. Gina knows that Jack will help when she tells him the truth about who her son really is…..his. She knows that once she reveals that her son is also Jack’s son he will stop at nothing to bring the boy back safe and sound. Will Jack and his team rescue the boy? Will Jack and Gina get past their feeling to stop a madman?

This is the fifth book in the Hostile Operations Team (HOT) series but you can definitely read it as a stand alone like I did. I had never read any of the other HOT books before this one and I still did not feel like I had missed something. I love books that are in a series but you don’t necessarily need to read them in an exact order. I will say that after reading this book I now want to go back and read the other HOT books just to get to know the other team members better.

This book was SUPER sexy! I loved the passion between Jack and Gina. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. I could not put it down. It had so many twist and turns. Just when I thought that I knew the identity of the kidnapper there is a plot twist and it went a totally different way. Jack was a little tuff on Gina but I loved how she was dedicated to see things through and to make him see the good and not just the bad. I loved how the team will risk everything for those that they love. This book was extremely well written. I would highly recommend to anyone who is in the mood for a action packed romantic suspense.

Usually I do not read celebrity romance stories, but Hot Shot (A Hostile Operations Team Novel) really worked for me. There was an instant connection between Jack and Gina (famous singer) which was so captivating that I became instantly invested in their story. Even though it was easy to guess who fathered Eli, it only served to move the story of the kidnapping along. The cohesive story line did have an unexpected turns of events later in it, which just caused me to continue turning the pages to see how it would all work out.

The main characters, Jack and Gina are authentic and compassionate. It was a pleasant surprise to see how Gina had developed into a down-to-earth person during the three years after their first meeting. Plus, I like how both of these headstrong characters are developed overall. Especially well done is how they act and react to situations, as well as how they are drawn to each other; revealing more about their personalities as the story progresses.

I have come to expect the guys from HOT to work together as they do in this story. It is good to see what everyone in the unit is up to so I look forward to the updates in the books on the previous lead characters. The balance is great without making you feel that you are missing something if you haven’t read all of the series. There is lots of action, suspense and romance along the way.

In short, this is a great book added to an already awesome series. It is okay to start with this one if you are new to the series but Hot Shot will lure you in to reading all of them.

Seriously is there a hotter series out there in this genre? Because if there is, I don't know about it. I have loved these books from book 1 and they are only getting better and better not to mention hotter!!!

I loved the story of Jack and Gina and of course getting a glimpse of all the HOT guys.

There was action galore, plenty of drama and of course more panty melting scenes that leave you with that little smile that secretly wishes you were the lead character in the book.

The book starts 3 years earlier where Jack is on a mission and comes across Gina. They share one passionate night together which neither of them ever forgets. The results of that night left Gina pregnant with Jack's baby and now 3 years later their son has been kidnapped. With no other option available Gina contacts Jack in order for him to help find the son he knows nothing about.

A really great read that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I highly recommend this series, if you have not read it yet as this author knows how to pen action romance...

Cant wait for the next dose of HOT to grace my kindle....

Thanks Netgalley for my awesome copy!!!

I am a huge sucker for the men of the HOT team and I have had this crush on Jack since the beginning. I was so happy to see his story and man did he become so much hotter to me as a result. Jack, who after rescuing pop star Gina, assumes he will never see the woman who he loved in a cave while awaiting transport. Fast forward three years and Jack gets a call from Gina that her son has been taken, and O yeah, it's his son too. All the men from HOT step up to help Jack rescue his son, and in the ensuing action and mystery Jack finds himself more thanked with Gina than ever before. Gina was sweet and likeable and her dedication to her son and then to Jack was great. I am curious to see where the next book takes us with how this one ends(happily don't worry!). We also get a glimpse of Nick and who I am hoping is his woman, Victoria.
This is a great addition to the Hostile Operations Team series and will not disappoint!

I give this book a definite well earned 5 stars

I am a great fan of Suzanne Brockmann, but Lynn Raye Harris has taken the top spot above her as my new favourite author of military romance books. I have not read a military romance for a while now but the wait was well worth it. This story is about Gina a famous popstar and Jack (Hawk) Hunter the Hostile Operations Team (HOT) sniper. They meet when Jack and his team are sent to stop an arms deal going down and Gina is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jack saves Gina and they had to spend 3 days hiding out till they got extracted from the island, and that leads to a baby, kidnappings and attraction so strong that Jack finds it hard to deny. The well detailed story line explains all about the other characters in the book too, giving you a very descriptive view so that you can definitely imagine what is wrote on the page. Well done Lynn Raye Harris for a great read. This is a definite 'must read'.

I liked the action and suspense in this book but the romance fell flat. Jack spoke about how much he loved Hayley for majority of the book and treated Gina like crap for most of it. Gina kept putting herself out there all for him to keep shutting her down and reminding her he loved his deceased wife and didn’t want a relationship. It was hard for me to believe he truly loved her in the end.

Jack’s constant judgements about her lifestyle and choices were also annoying considering that he knew about her rough childhood and how she worked hard to have the things she did. The author also focused more on the physical aspect of their relationship and less on the emotional part. I did like how Jack’s team had his back and how the women were there for Gina.

HOT Sniper

Once again Lynn Raye Harris wrapped us up in the magic of the Hostile Operations Team(HOT) team and now it's Jack's turn. I always pictured Jack as the strong silent type who got the job done and that was that. One chance encounter with Gina as he waits for his team to rescue him we glimpse the man beneath the illusion. When Gina calls Jack needing help he realizes that the past never stays buried. From there we embark on a action packed adventure filled with combustible chemistry and a secret that changes everything for Jack. I so can't wait for the next book because this team gets better and better.

I received this ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. This book is Super Hot and Sexy. Jack and Gina made one combustible couple. The love scenes were steamy. This story has lots of suspense and drama. Falling in love again was not in the plans but from the moment Jack seen Gina in his scope something happened. Three years later after rescuing Gina, she needs him to find and save her baby (his baby) and the action begins. It takes a real man to forgive. Can he do it, you have to read and see.

I can't continue to write the same fantastic review. These books are fabulous. Once I start one, I can't put it down. I'm on book 8 now, but I have to save them for when I have nothing else going on, because when I open to page 1, I won't be able to stop until I get to the end.
