A modern day’s Romeo and Juliet; two people from two different worlds, one night of passion and a future of bloodshed and tears… Is it ever really worth it?
Jade is a typical Princess, prim and proper with her whole life ahead of her. Her parents have the perfect suitor picked out for her, her father’s prodigy, Marcus. Everything is as it should in her perfect little world, until the day that Ryder Knox shows up demanding she rent him the mansion they have available, willing to pay more than asking with cold hard cash. She loses the battle when cash starts to do the talking, and she can only promise to make his life a living hell.
Ryder is amused with Jade and even though she pisses him off with her hoity-toity attitude he can’t help but think about being the one to see if she has the same kind of passion burning through her in the bedroom as she does out of it. Jade is nothing but annoyed when she arrives to the home for a planned inspection, she was expecting drugs, sex and alcohol; but what she got instead was Ryder answering the door with the cutest baby of attached to his hip. Making quick work of the inspection, they come to blows yet again and pretty much want nothing and everything to do with one another.
As chance has it, Ryder saves her from an embarrassing shituation and takes her away where she has nothing to worry about but the heat between them. Both at odds in what they want, there is no denying that there is something more between them than a quick lay, but when the two world collide, will everyone come out unharmed ???
The Scorpion MC Prequel gives us the history of how Ryder and Jade meet, and a peak into their past that haunts them both. Ryder came off as an asshole in the beginning of the story, but once we got to know him better I softened up towards him. With Jade, I loved her sassiness but hated the judgmental comments she made, luckily it all didn’t last long, once they got to know each other more, they realized there is more to them than they both initially thought. There is so much more to this story, they have so much against them, which promises us a very angsty experience in the next book. I have a feeling this is one of those books I’m gonna want to read with my eyes closed, lol. As much as I wanna finish up their story, which we are promised the HEA in the full length novel, Two Worlds Colliding, I am holding out until I can prepare myself enough. There was a lot to process in this prequel, so many things can happen which have the wheels in my head turning and I’m kinda scared of the road they have ahead of them.

4.5 Prequel Stars
I am going to show my age here.....Remember when you were a little kid and the new cartoons season was starting. You waited for Saturday morning to get the new season of Scooby Doo or Speed Racer or my favorite, non cartoon...Sigmund and Sea Monsters?!?!? Yes, that feeling. That anticipation. Back before cable and Netflix when you had to WAIT for the new shows. That feeling is what I have now. This Prequel is making me Scooby Doo excited.
Ryder was rescued from foster care by the Scorpions MC Club. He has grown up with them as his family, his brothers. When one of the brothers is in trouble, Ryder steps in the take care of the club and his family. They are his priority. Even when he meets the curvaceous Jade.
Focus. Think with the big head.
Jade works in her family's real estate office. She is ready to find love. The kind wearing a suit and tie. The kind with a college degree and $100 hair cut. Not some guy with tattoos, leather and bad attitude.
Jade and Ryder are not insta-love. There is insta-lust, but they are not acting on that. They are in different places in the lives and have different expectations for what the future holds. Ryder can tell Jade is not used to his life style or lovin' style.
I wanted to kiss her and then spank her and then fuck her and then kiss her again. Yeah. I was fucked. Fuck.
There are some bad ass names like Cobra, Ratbag and Razor. This prequel sets up lots of interwoven story lines that you can see coming. Her brother, his brother, her cousin, they all have sneak peeks with the promise of more to come. More bad ass, more drama, more cops, more bikes, more dirty talking. Hopefully. And Ryder and Jade? We don't leave them with an HEA, we leave reluctantly leave them wanting more. Better than a Scooby snack.

I'm glad I read this prequel because I can't stand Ryder and I will not read the actual book. So I've saved time and money
My biggest problem with Ryder was his use of the word "bitch" as a term of endearment :D I don't know if he really used bitch as a term of endearment but it seemed to me like that because he used it everytime when he talked to Jade. I know it's a MC book and I also know biker don't use the nicest language but you don't call a girl you care about "bitch" all the time. And if you are a smart woman you don't allow someone to call you a bitch.
I'm not sure if the actual book will continue like that as well but I care too little to find out.. Overall this book just couldn't awake my interest and I don't want to read about another asshole biker..

This prequel was very hot, muy caliente, motto caldo and très chaud. Very hot in four different languages. If the author turns it up a notch more, then the novel should be epic and excellent. This book has an atmosphere like the tv show, Sons of Anarchy and I personally love that show.
The author uses the prequel to give in depth back stories on Ryder and Jade. This allows the reader to get attached to the characters and understand them better, so I got the intention of a prequel and what the author was doing. With that said, with the novel, now all is said and done in the prequel, the author should wow us with the upcoming book (being pressured much) heheh. Jade was into her romance novels and has an idea of her ideal man and that is not Ryder. Ryder is the I don't care kind of guy and I love that he literally gave me full blown goose pumps especially towards the end . "If you rate me as someone who gives a flying f*** about what other people think of me, you're sorely mistaken." Ryder .
This wasn't your clean cut romance novel. I love the vulgar language, the club meetings, gangs and the atmosphere of this story. The story ended with making the reader want so much more and I was hooked. I think the author accomplished what she wanted with this prequel and I am looking forward to the novel on March. If I could have my way, I'm crossing my fingers that the novel will be a mix of Son of Anarchy and West Side Story.
Overall, this is a good read and would recommend this to be on your to be read list.

I am honoured to be asked to read and review the ARC of Jani Kay’s Scorpions MC~Ryder a Prequel.
This is a fast paced grab you from the first chapter to the last read. Taking a break from the story is impossible so put everything aside and just immerse yourself into the story.
Two people from two different lifestyle can they fall in love and have a relationship? Do opposites attract?
Jade a sassy, independent soon to be lawyer knows what she want in a man and it’s not Ryder.You could say she comes from the good side of the tracks.
Ryder a tattooed, pierced, long hair biker also knows what he wants and it’s not the annoying, bitching Jade.Ryder is from the wrong side.
From the first meeting Ryder’s and Jade’s life will be changed forever, since neither will be able to forget the other.
Jani Kay weaves a hot, sexy, gritty, humous story of two world colliding in this prequel of the series. There are moments when you need a fan to cool off or maybe even some cold water on your face. And there are moments that will tugs at your heart and make you fall in love with Ryder and Jade.
And in the end you’ll be wanting more Ryder and Jade with your heart beating faster, and saying don’t end yet!!!
I can’t wait for the next of the series March is too far away!!
Way to go Jani Scorpions MC series is a success! If I haven’t already been a fan Ryder and Jade would have made me one.

MC books always have a hard time living up to my high standards. So lately, I’ve been putting off reading them. There’s nothing worse than reading a book you’re excited about, and finding out that it sucks. So I had some trepidation going into this one.
I’d seen some other reviews that were just so-so about this. So I wasn’t expecting anything grand. But I was pleasantly surprised by this. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. I was really intrigued by Ryder and Jade’s interactions. I loved the way they bickered. For me there was chemistry between them.
Even with me liking this book, this being a MC book, there’s always going to be something that’s disturbing and/or stomach churning. And this definitely had it. Now, I read an ARC, so there’s no telling what changes will be made before actual publication, but there are a couple scenes that made me want to read while covering my eyes. I felt so bad for Ryder. He went through a lot of crap. I can’t say that I’m happy those scenes (really, that chapter) was there, but it definitely gave me a greater understanding of why Ryder was the way he was.
I realized that this was a prequel, and that there wouldn’t be a definite ending. And for the second time today, I was ok with the TBC ending. It had a natural ending; one that showed the completeness of what was just told, leading up to the next portion of their story. However, if the author had decided to just make it one huge novel as opposed to having the prequel and then main novel, I wouldn’t complain. And with all that said, there were definitely some unanswered questions at the end of this.
My one real complaint would be that there were some inconsistencies in the story/timeline. I realize that I had an ARC so that there was going to be a final review/edit done to it, but I had to point them out. They didn’t really take away from the story while I read, but after I finished and really thought about it, I was left scratching my head, wondering how some things were possible when the timelines didn’t fit.
I’ll definitely be reading the next one when it comes out to find out what happens to Ryder and Jade.

Love, love , love this story line! I can not wait until the first book comes out! This story is about Jade , a prim and proper girl who has everything she thought she needed until Ryder shows up and rocks her world. Jade meets Ryder because he applies to rent a house that Jades company has up for rent. Being the biker dude that Ryder is he wants Jade from the first moment they meet. She is the first woman to back him and the first women he puts on the back of his bike. When their worlds collide, can lust and love be enough to keep their relationship going?? Mommy and daddy will not like this from Jade but her fiancé has been caught with his pants down- literally!! Hope to find out in the next book!!

Ryder is a badass biker , Jade is a smart mouth who has judged Ryder as a loser from the second she saw him... Jade goes through shit with a so called boyfriend and Ryder is there for her when you least expect it! Can't wait to read more about this hot biker and Jade , to see how there relationship can even evolve....luv it Jani

First and foremost I would like to thank the Author Jani Kay for sending me the Arc for this book in exchange for an honest review.
I fell in love with this book from page one to the last. This book is addictive, sad, powerful and beautiful.
Ryder the male lead in the book although he is a sexy tough dirty mouthed bad ass biker there is another side to him, a softer and caring side that will make you fall deeper in love with him. Ryder grew up in a screwed up environment, which got even worse when he was send to Juvenile Jail for Protecting His brother the hell he endured there at such a young age was horrific. Thankfully he was saved and joined an MC club and soon they became is family and he will do anything to protect them.
Jade is you typical rich daddy’s girl with a very smart mouth, and once she and Ryder meet all hell breaks loose. Two very different people from two very different worlds will collide and ohhhh boy do they collide. This book will have you begging for More

This was absolutely excellent, a must read for all Jani's fans, it had sole it had originality, it kept you turning those pages, and not wanting to even put the book down for a single moment, Frig I hardly slept!!!!!!
But now that it is done, I cannot wait for the full version or Book 1 as we will call it, so I can read more about Jade and Ryder.

This is my first time reading a biker book and I must say I have been missing out if they are all this HOT. This book captured my attention from the first page and I was hooked. The storyline is unique and the characters are strong yet flawed in their own way. Ryder, our sexy dirty mouthed biker is dark, raw, and gritty. Jade is our smart mouthed, strong minded, successful career woman. When they're worlds collide the chemistry is felt between the two, but will their differences be to much to overcome? I can't wait to read the next book to discover how it unfolds!

Ugh. DNF. I just couldn't deal with Jade. Being in her head was like nails on a chalk board. She was uptight, judgmental and bratty. Who the fuck did she think she was taking it upon herself to perform random inspections in a home that he paid a lot of money to live in just because of his appearance. As much as I wanted to stick around for Ryder I couldn't.
My biggest pet peeve is when a Heroine thinks she's too good for the Hero only to turn around and fantasize about him or feel jealousy regarding other women in his life. Either be with him or don't but don't spend a majority of the book treating someone like they're beneath you all because of some superiority complex.

While she loves her parents and he fits into her perfect image she wants in life, she can't deny that the spark is missing from the relationship. Jade rolls with it determined to rid her mind of the biker it cannot seem to forget. But when everything comes crashing down around her can she finally accept her feelings toward Ryder or are their worlds so apart from one another that they will destroy one another before they even get started?
I loved this introduction into the book that will be coming out in March. It gives you a perfect view into the lives of both Jade and more importantly Ryder while he was growing up. I won't give too much away because this is a novella and will defeat the purpose of reading the novella. But I will say this, Ryder had a messed up childhood and had a hard time growing up so it becomes obvious why he is the way he is. But he's alpha, loyal, and he's hott. If you plan on reading the first book in this series, I highly recommend that you read this novella before you pick up the continuation of their story. Their chemistry was explosive and I can only imagine what the author has in store for us come March, 5 stars.

Jade is the beautiful rich girl from the right side of the tracks, and Ryder is biker bad boy locomotive that crashes into her world.
The Good

Oh lord help me. This was wonderful. I’m not sure how far I can get into the next one but I’ll try my best. There’s something about these kinds of books that everyone rates really high that sets off my anxiety levels. You know the kind ...two polar opposites, interfering family and friends, and connections to all the wrong kinds of powerful people. Is there hope for a hea? I guess if I knew I would devour the next book. I don’t have a clue but I will cautiously read the next one with one eye open. Slowly!

Well, it definitely was a bumpy start for the Scorpio Stinger MC series, but what can I say I'm a sucker for hot alpha bikers! So guna stick with it & hope it can suck me in. If not, at least I have Ryder to keep me company ;)

This book was a fab, fast paced prequel to the main event "Scorpions MC: Two Worlds colliding" which is out in March 2014. The story provided me with enough background information to peak my interest and I have to say, March cannot come soon enough. I really want to see where this one goes and I have a feeling it's not going to be plain sailing!!! Then again when is it ever when there are bikers involved?
In terms of the leading characters, what do you get when you throw a rich bitch with attitude and a sexy as sin, bad ass biker together? Trouble with a capital T that's what. Right from the off, Jade rubbed me up the wrong way. She was a spoilt brat who was so uptight, opinionated and judgmental, she infuriated me. The minute she clapped eyes on Ryder she'd already made up her mind about him and her comments were so derogatory, she made my blood boil. Thank god Ryder was a "no bullshit" alpha male kinda guy who didn't take crap from anyone. He gave as good as he got and praise be because he definitely put her in her place a few times (trust me, she needed it).
As much as I saw the typical MC 'tough as old boots' side to him, within the confines of his home, I saw another side that I wasn't expecting. It surprised me but I liked it and I knew that me and Ryder were going to get along just fine (even though he had a habit of calling women 'bitches'!!! lol).
Jade and Ryder couldn't have come from more opposite ends of the spectrum. Her life had been a privileged one. She was daddy's little princess and Ryder... well he was from the wrong side of the tracks and he was the VP of an MC. To be honest, despite the physical pull, I wondered what these two could possibly have in common but you know what they say... opposites attract and all that. When Jade and Ryder finally got it on (on the back of his bike ... uh huh!!! ) it was explosive. No kidding, Jani knows how to get you all hot and flustered and that sex scene ... jeesh I'm glad I was alone when I read it... all bug eyed with my toes curling at the very thought!!!!
I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two. What I do know is, it's not going to be easy. They have so much going against them already, could it ever work???
The ground work has definitely been laid for what lies ahead and I cannot wait to see how everything pans out with the club, Mia, Jade's brother, Cobra, the police ... and the list goes on. Plus I have a hundred and one questions I still need answering. I honestly think we've only touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this story and I envisage the second book being action packed, full of drama with a whole load of alpha male romance thrown in for good measure.
I rated "Scorpions MC: Prequel" 3.5 -4 hearts (some of the timings of events kinda threw me a little and there were a couple of moments I found myself a little lost trying to back track to see if I'd missed something... maybe things will become clearer in book # 2.)

Let me start off by saying there is a new HOT ass biker in town and his name is Ryder!
This is a prequel to Jani Kay's upcoming MC series. This book gave you back story about the main characters and set the scene for the upcoming series.
You have Jade who is an independent woman and you could say a little uptight. She has her life all planned and is on a mission to find the perfect man. Her life changes when she meets Ryder! Holy HOTNESS does not even begin to describe Ryder! Ryder Knox is the son of a groupie who ended up in juvenile detention. That is where he met and was rescued by Scorpion MC.
“Cobra was my best friend. In fact, he was probably my only real friend. After the brothers rescued me that fateful day, we formed a bond stronger than any I'd ever experienced with someone that wasn't blood family.”
Now VP of the club he is faced with lots of serious issues.
Sparks fly between these two from the start! She sees him as a low life loser and he sees her is a total uptight pampered princess who he likes to refer to as “a bitch”. The problem is they just can't stop thinking about each other. The banter between the two and the smart comebacks and comments are great!
“Well aren't you just a little ray of fucking sunshine.”
“I'm guessing your dick must be really small. Cause if you need to give such a sales pitch, your package is obviously lacking.”

The story line is very different and looking forward to the release of book 1 because I think it is going to be one fantastic read.

Scorpions MC Prequel ~ Ryder: NA Contemporary Romance Finished this one and like I expected it leaves you hanging. The stand alone novel is due out March 14th and I'm going to get it. I liked the story line (not your same old, same old) and the writing style is ok. It was about 100 pages so I got an idea of the quality standard. Only thing that irritated me is the H using the word "bitch" too many times talking to the h. It was used in terms of like "girl" or "woman" but it grated on me because of the frequency. The other thing that irritated me and it's minor is the use of the word "lounge" when writing about a LA MC. Hey guys in the US, it's living room, great room, den, family room. You say "lounge" and we're ready to go to the bar downtown and get a drink :) Overall, I am looking forward to this series and the author succeeded in making me curious enough to buy the book when it's released.

I love biker books. I mean really love them. I like how they are a law unto themselves and control their world. I love how they take what they want and protect what's theirs. Ryder is the VP of the Scorpions. He will fight to the death for his brothers and no one will get in his way.
In Jade's perfectly controlled world everything in her life is planned to the finest detail. College, a job in daddy's office, marry the junior partner then babies. Lots of them for her parents.
This seems perfect until Ryder walks into her real estate office to lease a house. Take all those plans and set a match to them.
Ryder & Jade are like a match and gasoline. He knows what he wants and plans to get it. She's insisting it will never happen. This is where it gets really good... I can't wait for the next book!!!

What a great start to a MC series!
I was hooked from the beginning. High class female and the rough and tough MC having chemistry is beyond hot!
"This bitch smelled good and her skin was soft and smooth. I'd love to make her squirm under me. Make her swallow her words-and my cum."
You get both Jade and Ryder's POV and I like the switching because you get each characters thoughts and feelings.
"At my age, I was aware that a perfect man was nonexistent. So I wasn't waiting for a perfect man. I was just waiting for the man who was perfect for me."
But they come from 2 different worlds, could their love overcome the obstacles they will have to face? Jade's family is rich and want her to marry a man in the same circle. Will Ryder's brothers accept Jade?
I can't wait to finish this series! Give me more!

5 STARS for Jani Kay's Scorpions MC Prequel. Now I may be a little bias because I love Jani Kay's writing and this book really is no exception. The writing is spot on and the hero and heroine are well written and are going to make for a great read in Book 1.
It is just a novella but gives a good look into their lives and a enough of a start into Ryder and Jade's relationship to have you begging for more. Jade is smart mouthed, career minded woman and Ryder is a sexy, tattooed biker. I am dying to get my hands on book 1 in this series.

Sometimes I amaze myself at my bookwhoreness..
I saw this on Amazon. Immediately fell in love with the cover.
Bought it.
Didn't read a thing about it. Or even notice the title.
'Specially the 0.5 PART!
So when I got to the end I was like WTF?!
Got on here... realised it was a prequel and kicked my own ass for being a whore and following the sexy half naked man around and not seeing anything else.
But I loved it even if it is a prequel.
I want a Ryder.
I also want the next book now.
Please.
