Sarah followed her boyfriend Huck off to college so they could be together. She thought they were taking the next step, she thought they were in love, she thought he was the one. But when she discovers he's a cheater and never wanted her to follow him in the first place, everything she thought to be true is destroyed. Now Sarah's alone in a new city, and she doesn't think she'll ever be able to trust, again.

“Finding You”, the newest addition to the By You family by Kelly Harper is a worthy one. This book finds Sarah still dealing with the emotional fallout from her break up with Huck and questioning whether she really belongs at college. Never having had to be on her own before, Sarah seems unsure of who she is without the influence of her parents and Huck to help her.
I loved Sarah’s journey in this book. In previous books her character didn’t really seem to have its own identity…she typically came as a pair. It was Sarah and her parents, Sarah and Maggie, or Sarah and Huck. Even in the novella prior to this story, she seemed reluctant to make friends away from Huck. Here, she has no option but to stand on her own two feet and decide to stay at college for herself and no one else. It was great to see her find her inner strength and realize that she has worth on her own. That realization is what enables her to open herself to the possibilities that come with Jeremy.
While I loved Sarah, for me, Jeremy is the star of this book. Harper does a good job of dropping crumbs about him here and there, and leaving us tearing up the pages for the next one. And the big reveal about his past did not disappoint. His tortured soul called to me from the pages of the book and I was rooting for him to find his happy ending. Not only did Harper do a great job with the build up to Jeremy’s back story, but she developed his character really well. He was well rounded, thoughtful, respectful, and a perfect balance for Sarah. While they may have thought they were rushing their relationship, I thought it came off very natural and realistic. Also, their chemistry sizzles and burns up the pages.
The supporting characters in the story are not lacking either. It was fun getting to know Billie and Reagan more. I liked the down to earth addition of Oz. It was cool to meet some of Reagan’s brothers in Braden and Thom. Even Jeremy’s friend Becca had something to bring to the table. I hope that we will see more of these characters in subsequent books in the In You series. I am not ready to leave this great cast behind. There is definitely a lot more story to tell and I hope that Kelly Harper continues to tell it. I would recommend this book to all looking for a great, well thought out book!
*I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
I was given a ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Where to start? so much happens in the last installment. Sarah is trying to move on from Huck and starting to see more of Jeremy. These two start to get very close but Sarah knows Jeremy is keeping secrets. Over time some of his secrets come out, but he is still keeping a major secret. These two go through many emotions and obstacles in their short relationship. Jeremy is haunted by his past and finds it hard to forgive himself and move on with Sarah. When tragedy strikes will these two be able to pick up the pieces and move on? or Jeremy too far gone?
I loved the final installment, it was everything I hoped for and more. Billie I came to love, she is my hero! especially what she did to Huck * high five Billie, high five. *
Huck I found myself feeling bad for, I hope he finds himself one day and him and Sarah can be friends or I hope Billie drops him again, all of those options are good for me.
Reagan I simply adore and i want her to find happiness, maybe her and Kyle can meet up and get happy together. I think she would be good for him ;-)
Jeremy I adore. What can I say about him? he is a sweetheart and I am so very proud of him.
Sarah I LOVE, she is KICK A$$ and she may be needy and slightly whiny sometimes she is a fierce b****!
All in all it was pretty amazing. There was no sex though... Kelly knows how upset I am with her over that LOL. But it didn't need it and you don't even notice until the end and feel like you have a bad case of blueballs lol. Well played my dear, well played. I was thinking there was going to be LOTS since all those KL convos we had, but alas there was none. Oh well, it was still amazing and you will have to read to find out. Again, I always hope for more, but there is no cliffhanger and it is the final.....for right now ;-) hehe.
"I just want you to know that you're so much more than he could ever be."
"I've always been this smart, you were just too dumb to realize it."
Okay so this is the first book that I have received as an ARC copy and I was pretty excited to do it. If you have not read the other books in this series you really should, so that you could be introduced to Sarah and Huck, not to mention some other great characters....
I think that this was by far the best book that I have ready from Kelly Harper so far. The characters were far more developed and interesting. Sarah and Jeremy, especially Jeremy had several layers to them that there were waiting and needing to be revealed and discovered. I loved that Sarah was this strong person, and not some weak minded girl who allowed Huck to be a crap boyfriend and walk all over her and then just take him back. She was strong and stood up for herself, and while she had some understandable self-doubt she was not afraid to have new experience, let new people in and not forgive and forget what she was put through. Jeremy was a perfectly flawed character. He was struggling on a daily basis and trying to find a reason to live again, and Sarah was helping him to do that. Kelly did an amazing job, I think of describing that and making you feel that. There was intensity between them, but also an innocence that was believable and charming. There is the development and introduction of some really fun characters as well; I must say that I am a huge fan of Billie....and as a little slight but not really spoiler... I love what leads Sarah to the hospital :) Billie is a total badass! My really one and only complaint/issue with the book was some of the grammar/typo issues. Some of those can disrupt the follow of the story, it was not overwhelming but they were there. It was not enough to take away from the great story of the book, but if that was the only issue I think it was still a great read! I can't wait for more from this author, I will be reading it!
Finding You continues the story which started in Following You. It can be read as a standalone novel but I would recommend reading the novella first as it gives a bit more background.
Sarah is struggling to come to terms with what she discovered about Huck previously, and it is affecting her concentration during classes. She needs to find a way out of the slump she is in before she falls so far down she can't get back up again.
Jeremy first met Sarah when she first came to the college, after following Huck. They meet again and soon strike up a friendship which grows slowly into something more. But Jeremy is hiding something. It causes him to be quite cautious about building a relationship with Sarah at first. We find out a little about his secret, but the final part of it we only find out near the end of the story.
Billie, who I loved in the novella, grew into one of my favourite characters in this book. Beneath her harsh shell is someone I would love to have as a friend. She is straight to the point and exactly says what she means.
Again the characters are well written, the storyline kept my attention throughout. I was shocked near the end with the way the story goes, but I see why it had to happen as it did.
I don't feel I missed out on anything not reading the authors first 2 books in this series as the storyline was a self contained one. I didn't feel the need to know any more about the characters than I found out reading the novella, Following You, and this book.
This book is about Sarah. A girl who follows her boyfriend off to college only to find out that life isn't always about what you want or what you see. Sarah thought she was going to spend her college years with the love of her life Huck. But life has different plans for Sarah when Huck becomes a different person once college starts. Sarah is heart broken when the boy she thought she knew cheats on her and brakes her heart. Sarah is ready to pack up and go running back home. But her crazy roommate makes her wise up and stay. Jeremy WOW! Jeremy is starting college later then everyone else, he is a 21 year old freshman. But ready to get on with his life and leave the past where it belongs, in the past. When he meets Sarah for the first time he is left standing there wondering if a future is what he deserves. Jeremy has demons that he struggles with everyday. And doesn't know if he will ever have a happy ending! Sarah and Jeremy have a relationship that is rocky from the beginning, with her insecurities and his demons, will their relationship make it or will it be over before it beings.
I think of this book as a coming of age kind of book. It shows you that what you see isn't always what you get. Everyone has a past but are we willing to let people in and share our past with them?? I would recommend this book to anyone. It was an quick easy read!
I received an ARC copy, with instruction to give a fair and honest review. I generally attempt not to give any spoiler alerts, but bearing that in mind read on with caution! I loved the storyline with the hometown BF, and Sarah, the names almost seemed spot on given the country/small town they were from. I really struggled at some points in the story, I felt things sort of drug on so that more characters could be developed. You do have to take into account this is a series, so there are many stories evolving in each one! However, I think there was a little too much time taken in the overall scheme of this book in particular. I really liked not being able to predict Rebecca's role in things, I really was on my toes until the very end trying to decide how I felt about her and his things would pan out for our couple. Overall, I'm probably a 4 stars, there were quite a few wording points that I felt even with a quick skin would eliminate. Those wordings caught me up quite a bit and generally I am on to fill in words when necessary. I did love the plot line and felt that was a really good balance on drawing the couples story out to understand things. I look forward to the rest of the series! Thanks again!
Was given an ARC for my honest review and I must tell you......Kelly did it again! The story continues for Sarah and Jeremy in Book 3 of the By you series! (I recommend reading the previous books, Ruined By you, Saved By You and Following You- as they can give much needed prior information to Sarah and Huck's story- though it is not necessary. Finding you could be read as a stand alone.) Off at college and finding their way towards each other. Road blocks and barriers are always popping up but can their love survive it all, do they even love each other? Can you bury the demeans that invade your mind and crumble your ability to see you are worth loving or that you even deserve to be loved?
For Sarah, leaving her home and abandoned by Huck, she finds her way through this new life at College, meeting friends along the way. Jeremy has a tragic accident keeping him grounded to his past. Together they forge forward and make a new life together battering demeans and tragedies along the way,
First off let me say that there is a novella prior to this Following You which I recommend that you read first.
Finding you leaves off with Sarah coming to terms that she is longer in a relationship with Huck her boyfriend from home that she follows to college to be with him. Now that Sarah is "single" Jeremy see this as an opportunity to have a chance with Sarah now since he first meet her in a class in college.
Jeremy is trying to come to deal with the issues that he that occured years ago before he came to college. Sarah knows that he is hiding something and slowly Jeremy comes to terms with these issues thanks to Sarah's help.
This is a story about young love, trusting someone that you can depend one and having friends that have your back.
There were some editorial issues with this book but nothing too big. I say if you are looking for a good YA romance this is the book for you.
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
I had been waiting to see what happened with Sarah for quite some time. I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes you have to wade through slow parts of a book to get to the "good" parts and I'm happy to say that I didn't have to do that with Finding You. The story flowed nicely and kept you engaged throughout the whole thing.
I was a little saddened by Huck's actions. It's sad when you are friends with someone for so long, and then they suddenly start acting different. I'd like to see a story for him and hear his regrets and how he moves on.
I liked both Jeremy's and Sarah's characters and them together.
The only thing I didn't prefer about the book, was the ending. I'm SO glad that it wasn't a cliff hanger, but I thought the ending was a bit abrupt. There was closure, but to me it happened too fast! (It is a HEA)
I have been looking forward to reading "Finding You" to find out what happened next in the story. It did not disappointment me. I love the whole story. I really love Sarrah and Jeremy. The character development is believable and easy to relate to. There was so much emotion in the story. I love how strong Sarrah's character is, especially how she tried to move on despite her reservation on getting hurt again. And Jeremy, I can feel his pain but I just wish he could have been honest with Sarrah at the beginning, but it all works out in the end. And Billie, I actually love her character, I know she has her own issue but she is actually a loyal friend. I liked how she defended Sarrah against Huck.
All in all it was an amazing read. But I just wish there could be more to their story. That's how much I love this book. I don't want it to end. :-)
I lived this story of love, redemption, faith and forgiveness. Jeremy and Sarah find each other at college and their love grows so quickly it takes them by surprise. Each has a past that haunts them. Jeremy's demons threatens his relationship with Sarah. While he's on the road to recovery he doesn't share all his secrets with Sarah. Sarah is afraid to commit to Jeremy afraid that what happened with he ex will repeat itself. Everything comes to a head when they are in a car accident. Jeremy's world collapses but Sarah is there to get him through. Wonderful story!! There were a few grammatical glitches, but it didn't take away from the story. Another sweep through the text should polish it up nicely. Great work Kelly...I've loved all your books!!
First of all, I personally recommend reading the other 2 books in the series. It really does tie the final book together nicely. Second, I really enjoyed the story. It was so wonderful to see Sarah finally find her strength and her determination to be the person we knew she was from the beginning. I absolutely loved Jeremy. He was such a sweet soul and yet so tormented by his past. I wanted to jump in the book and shake him to his senses! The ending was more than shocking! I certainly had to pick my jaw off the floor for the last third of the book. It was such a "What? Oh No! Seriously? No Way!", read towards the end. It certainly brought the story home!! Fantastic! Loved it! Thank you Kelly Harper!!
First I would like to say Thank you to Kelly for gifting me this book. This is an awesome series, I loved them each so much that I can't pick a favorite. The suspense was killing me and just when I thought I figured it out I was only partly right. The other part took me by surprise it took my breath away leaving tears trailing down my face. The emotional roller coaster was uncanny. Accounts that could very easily become reality. Wow don't miss out on an amazing story, Kelly captivated me and pulled me right in. You'll love the thrill, excitement, passion and mystery you'll love this book just as I have. Well Done Kelly!!
KH just doesn't disappoint! She has become a go-to author for me, and I can honestly say that I've never not enjoyed one of her books. This one was no exception.
Sarah and Jeremy's story was sweet with an edge because I just couldn't wait to get to the part where Jeremy's secrets were finally revealed. Despite everthing that occurred in his life, he was romantic and attentive. Sarah was much better off with him than Huck. The only criticism I have is personal and that is that I like my books with "steam," and this didn't have it, but it was still a very good read.
This is a standalone book even though there are two books before it you can read this solo, I loved this storyline of Sarah who has followed her high school sweetheart hauk to college and found him to be a cheater but she lives her life and carries on only to discover Jeremy who has his own demons but they bound and become close. This book is a page turner as you won't be able to put it down loved it from start to finish
Poor Jeremy. I felt so bad for him in all the bad things that keep happening to him. He was such a great guy who kept getting crappy hands dealt to him. He deserved to find happiness and Sarah was definitely his happy. I can't wait to see who gets a story next. There are many possibilities I look forward to reading about.
Wow all change for Sarah, Huck and Jeremy. This love story has a dark backdrop with Jeremy's history then it all happens again and is just as dark as before. I was actually quite surprised by the ending. I thought things would have been a lot rougher for Jeremy plus I expected much more about Reagan and her family. Part of Kindle Unlimited.
I found Kelly by receiving a free book on facebook. I fell in love with her books and bought the rest of the books in this series. You never know what life is going to throw at you, but with love you can overcome anything!
This is the containing story of Sarah that we met in the last book. In this one we learn how she deals with the breakup. Then we find her in a new relationship with a much better man only he has demons from his past he must overcome & open up to her about them
