Fourbears: Myths of Forgiveness

Rate this book
FourBears: The Myth of Forgiveness: isn't a simple memoir; it is a graphically illustrated guide from tortured child, to remorseless beast, to healing and change. This book is about helping others find their way out of their history and into the here and now. Proof that what once held you down can now hold you up. After the book reflects on a horrific upbringing it looks to offer key and ground breaking insights of the inner workings of the mind of a victim and later a perpetrator of hate and violence. Service providers working in treatment centers and institutional settings would greatly benefit from this work. Anyone facing issues with forgiveness and change might find a process toward healing and recovery.

I was given this book from a friend to read. This isn't my usual kind of book although I have read some similar. I almost put the book down because of the horrible abuse of this child. It truly is hard to imagine a parent who can hurt their children like this. However I forced myself to continue on through the journey of his life and the choices he made, some of which Were disturbing. I don't like when people hurt other people in any way. The end result had to be positive that's all I kept telling myself. I'm so glad I read the entire book and actually learned some things from it. It gave me another way to view others who struggle and some of the things that I can possibly to do help.

It's amazing to see the strength and character that this person had to find deep within himself. It actually makes you think about your life and ways you can make changes within it. I think it reaches out to more people than just those abused. There is personal growth in all of us and the plan he uses can be incorporated into anyone's life.

Definitely worth reading and recommended.

In the authors every attempt to smear and belittle everyone's character that he writes about that allegedly wronged him from childhood on up...Sammy fails to take accountibility for his own actions for his failures as a individual and blames his lack of opportunity and underachievements as a young man on his family and his gang he joined. Never seeing the fact his decision making and aggressive nature as a key factor for his condition and rather than showing gratitude for being taken off the streets ,fed, clothed, and placed under a umbrella of protection during his prison stay due to his personal thievery ...Sammy chooses to write and distort and bend events and disregards sacrifices shown and made to him by others he lied to at the time and said he loved like brothers. The title of the book itself mentions "Forgiveness",but Sammy hasn't forgiven anyone. In fact the only person that he has forgiven is mentioned in this book is Alicia "monks" who was his girlfriend before he was imprisoned and she was within days from him being incarcerated sleeping with his Folks at the time Kraco....classic simp beta male behavior...forgives the female but disrespectfully breaks ties with everyone else. This book is nothing more than a sick revenge plot to write about individuals that Sammy felt wronged him in life so that people may know only his version of events. As in the movie The Count of Monte Cristo , Sammy is just a hurt personality that uses a false identity ,deception, lies and in this case a novel to seek revenge on those that he feels crossed him in this life. This book is a waste of a tree it was printed on...do not purchase!
