In ‘Vampire Watchmen’ we follow Samantha Carter a woman living in London. Last year Samantha had an incredible experience when she traveled to another time. Without really understanding what happened she appeared in 1888, and after a while she found herself back in the present. Now it’s almost a year later and ever since she came back to the present, she is trying to find an answer to the question how she was able to move through time. Samantha misses the friends she met back in 1888 terrible. With them Samantha finally felt like she had someplace she belonged.

One day when Samantha is wandering the streets of London to find answers she suddenly finds herself in yet another time. This time Samantha and her friends are back in 1665 when London was hit by the plaque. There are some terrible gruesome murders happening and together with her friends Samantha is trying to find out the one who’s responsible for all those murders.

‘Vampire Watchmen’ is the first book I read by Tim O’Rourke. In the beginning I found myself having a little trouble with figuring out what was happening. I just found the time traveling aspect a little confusing at first. But when I continued reading I soon found myself being pulled into this story. This story is funny, mysterious, scary and at times romantic and sexy. What I found really refreshing about this story was the way the vampires in this book are. The vampires where scary and completely evil. Nothing good about them! After having read so many stories about good vampires I really liked this different detail.

The character I liked the most was Harry, Samantha’s lover/friend/boyfriend/mysterious guy. Although I never really figured out who and what he really was I loved reading about him. I found his snappy answers and confusing moods really enjoyable. He was just really mysterious and I really enjoyed that.

This book was definitely a nice read. The time traveling and the vampire hunting made this a very interesting read and I found Tim O’Rourke writing very enjoyable. This book definitely made me want to read more about Samantha’s world.

Well as usual, I started this book today and had to keep reading till I finished it. Hoping that this time Sammy would be free of the curse that keeps shifting her between time periods. We are back with the gang in London when the plague has reached epic proportions yet not all is as it should be and the history books seemed to have left out a few relevant details. Harry is his usual bad boy sexy self and Sammy is struggling with her attraction to him and with learning the secret to unravelling her past. Very few questions are answered in this book and I keep coming up with more questions, why is she so reluctant to remember - hey if I had Harry to go back to, I would not be leaving anytime soon and why does the memories fade once she is back in her time. It is like trying to make the pieces of the puzzle fit yet there seems to be a few pieces missing, frustrating and annoying at times. As the words seem to fly off the pages, I became immersed in the story and as Tim was re-writing history I longed for another book to greet me I was finished with this book. Alas being a magician is not one of his strong suits but he never fails to provde an entertaining and captivating story.

I love Samantha Carter and the gang and eagerly awaited this book! Couldn't put it down and it led to a very sleepless night of reading.
I forgot how vivid Tim paints his creatures so reading about Vampires tapping on windows when it's night time was very creepy but thrilling!

The mystery of whether it was all a fantasy was nearly solved in this installment which was so frustrating but adds to the allure of the Series.
Harry and Sammys chemistry is as animalistic as ever but their relationship begins to change the more Sammy realises there's more to them than just sex.

I don't where the sequels will take the characters but I hope with Tim's speedy fingers i'll find out sooner rather than later!

Wow another fantastic adventure packed book by Tim O'Rourke, I have no idea how he comes up with all these amazing story lines, but they have you gripped from start to finish.
I love the characters, especially Samantha and Harry. With vampires and werewolfs, blood and gore with the added element of time travel what more could you possible need, um nothing, it's brilliant. Can't wait until for the next book in 2015

Vampire Watchmen is a gripping story filled with horror, mystery and intrigue. Samantha Carter is a brilliant character torn between her unusual choices and he writer really drags you into her dilemma with his wonderful writing style! I was gripped from the very first page. I read this book  before the first one, and although I had no trouble following the plot, I will definitely be returning to read the previous! I can't wait for more in this amazing series.

I love how the author blends history and fiction together. This one is set around the time of the plague and the great fire of London. Very imaginative as usual. I do love this series and can't wait for more or Sam and the gang.

This book is good. The characters are well developed and complex and there is quite the amount of thrill in the story.
There are some parts where there is too steamy content, and I had to skip, but the overall story is great! The kickass female main character is amazing and really funny!

The book is well-written and managed to keep my interest alive with its vivid descriptions. Although the characters are interesting, I wished that there was a little more background information on them.

Even though ‘vampire watchmen’ mean Samantha and her friends, there is also a watchman who is a vampire, which makes it slightly confusing.

I had difficulty in understanding some of the frequent references to what had happened earlier; so I had to read the synopsis of Vampire Seeker, the first book in the series and Vampire Flappers, book number 1.5.

I liked the book. I would have liked it better had I read the books 1 and 1.5.

Sammy has had trouble letting go of her trip to 1888 and the friends she made there. Did it really happen or did she imagine it? Each day that passes make her forget a little more and question if it happened. To deal she visit the train station and smokes a lot. One day she ends up in London 1665 and reunites with her friends to battle vampires once again. Overall I enjoyed the story but still questions about Sammy and why she travels were left unanswered. I want more adventures with Sammy and the gang.

Included with this story was the short story "Vampire Flappers" which was a highly enjoyable romp with Harry and Sammy fighting vampires in 1920's Paris. I wish there where more stories like this where we see some of the adventures Sammy has forgotten.

Really loving this series so far. Samantha Carter jumps through time again, this time landing in 1665 in London, where the plague is killing the citizens, but is it the plague or something else?
Can't wait for the next one:)

I absolutely loved this book. It was fast paced and gripping. I love the way how Tim brings in history and threads it through the book. It's so believable that vampires lived and how these major events could be because of vampires. It's very clever!
