Constantine is enraptured by a female for the first time who is under his charge. Ember, princess of the Mer, was to be bred in a rite without her prior knowledge. When Con discovers this, he murders her brother Desmond.
Running from the Warriors of the Mer and desperate to evade capture, Con finds himself hopping from one battle to the next in avoidance and loses an unwilling Ember in the process.
High Demon males also seek fertile females and when an unlikely discovery of a part-demon female falls into their lap, they're not above taking what should not be theirs, even when the consequence is death or worse.
Can Constantine rescue Ember and consume the fire that burns between them? Will the High Demons who seek mates abide by their own laws or sink into the debauchery of lust and power?

CONSTANTINE, Siren Breeders, Book 2 by Marata Eros
I have often freely espoused that I have a ‘thing’ for unrepentant bad boys and Constantine has always been at the top of that Literary Bad Boy List! So, when I say that I have been waiting for this book forever—believe it!
I personally despise ‘jonesing’ for something because more often, than not; the ‘thing’ one obsesses about turns out to be a huge disappointment, once it is realized. This book is NOT one of them!
The book description provides a more than adequate synopsis of what one should expect, so I will only provide my humble thoughts and opinions.
Constantine is the sequel to EMBER, Siren Breeders, Book 1. The titular character has acted on a decision and is now dealing with the consequences. The irony here is that Con’s typical decisions and thought processes are consistently self-serving and yet this one moment where his actions benefit another; he is condemned and hunted down like the proverbial sociopath that he is... it’s hilarious.
The reader also meets a few new and interesting characters and revisit familiar personalities from previous books, which is one of the great things about serials in general; there are many sneak peeks into the lives of characters we’ve come to know.
As in real-world situations and scenarios, the fictional world’s characters ‘turn corners’—meaning, they resolve to do things, have epiphanies and make choices that alter the course of their stories. Constantine is no different. It’s great to see him want to do and be a different Con, in his own sadistic and twisted way! =;-)
The world-building in this series is phenomenal! I have said this before and it bears repeating—the detail described within each scene is saturated with lush, vivid colors and clear and concise imagery. I just love the way Ms. Eros sets the scenes in her books.
The action and battle scenes are depicted in such a way that nothing is left up to the reader’s imagination. One can feel ‘talons as they dig into flesh’ or the ‘sensation of drying blood on raw and inflamed skin as it seeps from a gaping, but closing wound’. I am paraphrasing here, but this type of visual, in my mind’s eye, is what drew me to this writer’s work and it’s what keeps me engaged and clamoring for any stories she creates.
There are a few sexually explicit scenes in this book; some are consensual and others not so much... But there are consequences for such actions, which is satisfying to read. Let’s face it—this is a series about procreating, finding mates and seeking an HEA. There WILL BE sex and scenarios that mimic reality.
As in real world situations, people are vulnerable from sexual attacks or nefarious incidents the minute they step outside their homes (which is a sad statement in itself). Some of this deplorable activity, has unfortunately, breached the sanctity of the home, as well. It is no different in fiction! Authors draw on experiences in real-world settings to create stories readers could relate to, hold their interest and ultimately enjoy. Ms. Eros clearly provides a warning to those whose sensibilities would otherwise be offended—if you fall into that category—just don’t read the book. JMHO.
Although Ms. Eros provides a short synopsis of each character and their roles during the course of the saga, to fully appreciate the storyline, its character’s involvement and personal growth; one should read The Druid Breeders Series (Books 1-3 are bundled and are currently available for a reduced price) and EMBER, the first book of The Siren Breeders.
This was first and foremost, a most anticipated and a very, very satisfying read! I will attempt to become the perfect Zen practitioner while waiting for the next book—not promising anything, but I’ll try... LOL!
My Rant: Constantine was one of my favorite characters in the Druid Breeders Series because he was the ultimate bad guy no one seen coming, not even me. He captured my heart in his torturous ways. But what made him appealing was that he had a constant struggle to be the perfect mate even though he was ruthless, conniving and most of all selfish. But as a reader you grow to love him any way because he had that bad boy sex appeal. Which I must admit I cannot deny.
Con: “I will not force you, but you will beg….beg for me to take you”
Ember: “ I will not beg”. “But I will give you what you need”.
How hot was that. The anticipation of Con and Ember was enough to start a five-alarm fire and burn right through to you core.
Constantine was riveting, sexy, erotic and action packed. Ms. Marata always starts the books of with a blast of action and rib breaking humor and her characters are always smoking heart that his hard to keep a favorite. As soon as you think your head over heals in love with one character another steps in and you are drooling at their sex appeal and conviction to protect the breeders. During the plot it’s hard to determine which hero gets the girl. There are so many twist and turns and when you think you know who’s going to end up together you don’t. That’s why I love Ms. Marata’s books because they are not that predictable. The suspense is outstanding because you are kept on the edge of your seat and at the end we are left with a cliffhanger ending which I love because it builds my anticipation for the next book to come. Constantine was everything I hoped for and more, especially since he is one of my favorite characters. I was happy to see in the end which part of his nature overcame and dominated the other.
My Recommendation: Overall, I gave Constantine 5 out of 5 Purple Rant hearts and would recommend this to readers who love Dark Erotica. I will also suggest readers read the Druid Breeders Series to gain more insight to the plot and character of the Siren Breeders.
Marata Eros, once again, has created a vibrant and highly descriptive dark fantasy world. Brandon’s trek to uncover the secrets within his lineage take on a tactile feel, making his struggle and choices come alive and completely real in this a fantasy setting.
I am completely awed by this writing style but struggle with the darkness and evil that permeates the characters every actions. The deepest desires are to connect with their counterpart female but abuse and/or taking with none or bare consent is not beyond these characters.
Twists and turns that will shock you, new revelations and unexpected outcomes and utterly dark erotic encounters keep you white knuckle reading till the end.
I've come to the conclusion that dark erotic horror is beyond my comfort zone in reading but still marvel at how drawn I am to uncover the ultimate outcome.
WOOHOO! Yay Con!! Kicking ass, saving the day, and exploring feelings in a single bound. I actually started to feel bad that the poor guy just couldn't catch a break.
And the demons! My god I'm excited for Lucas, Borlach, and the rest of the cast to get their fifteen minutes of fame. I think I'm developing this weird fascination with deadly torture devices.
I also loved Ember's thought process at the end. Can't wait to see how that plays out!
How do you turn a sadistic creature into a warrior with a heart? Ask Marata Eros because she bloody well did it in this instalment of the Siren Series.
Constantine is deliciously disobedient. And unconsciously Hilarious, You never know what is going to come out of his mouth or head.
I think Constantine has grown alot as a character through the series and being who he is and the obstacles hes faced due to his lineages and blood lines is remarkable. Marata Eros has a way with obscuring your mind about a Character even when you think there is no way in hell of changing it.
Finally Constantine and Ember get together and its a firecracker. Its totally sweet and by sweet I mean rub your hands together with glee naughty times.
Loved the reappearance of Tarrin and Lucia that girl kicks major ass!!!!
The women of the series although at the time may appear weak and vulnerable are way stronger than they they come across and I think this strength even surprises them sometimes.
The oddly shaped and unique tails of the demons is really intriguing and I love love love the Horns!!!!More horns please!!!!
Alexandria is really likeable her unique looks makes her a prize as a breeder and a demon and falling for the the Masters second (Lucas) is dangerous and exciting.
Holy hell I so have changed my thoughts on Logan I thought he was going to continue to be the Uber villain but he cleans out the Demon scum.
I really think Madden is the new Villain, he is so unlikeable, His chain-reaction kiss to Aubree to his mistreatment of Ember rubs me up the wrong way, but I'm sure Marata will make me love him eventually or at least kill him off – here's hoping MAWAHAHAHAHA. He really pushes my buttons (this is good though – if you feel anything for a character good or bad then the Author is doing something right!!!)
All up another BRILLIANT instalment to the Siren Series The firey prose and interesting characters will keep this series running forever.
CONSTANTINE is gripping, intriguing, shocking, sexy, exciting and has you on the edge of your seat, hanging to know what happens next. I am loving this new series! Ms. Eros sure has an imagination and she truly knows how to tell a story!
We follow Constantine and his plight to find Ember before any harm comes to her after she slips away while he is distracted in an ambush. We also meet Lucas, the leader of the High Demons, who has a secret he's trying to hide; Alexandra, a demon breeder who has fallen in love with him; and Kane, a demon warrior and demon breeder tracker who thinks his found just what he's been looking for.....
What blows me away with these stories is the detail that goes into them. The demons in particular I find fascinating and I'm so impressed on how much thought goes into the different species, their unique anatomy and it's uses!
CONSTANTINE is an awesome read and definitely one of my faves in all the Breeders series. I highly recommend that you read EMBER, the first book in the series first, and for even better background info on the characters I recommend the entire Druid Breeders series, starting with REAPERS.
It was bad. Disjointed. The first chapter is in third person present, and then changes to first person. It was jarring. The conversations between characters made little to no sense (and it's not like they're talking about events in the previous book, they just met, and know nothing of that), and the misogyny was too in your face with all the talk of breeders. Because of course nobody in this freaking book refers to women as women, nor talk to or about them by their names, God forbid they see them as people. Plus, third chapter and we’re abandoning Constantine (whose name’s on the freaking title), so I have no idea where this is going. It’s so freaking confusing. DNF 20%
Constantine finds himself drawn to Ember on a level he never would have thought possible. Knowing that Madden wants her, and discovering that her brother plans to use her in a way she never expected, to have her bred in a ritual no one expected. When Constantine discovers Desmond’s traitorous ways, he kills him, running with Ember for their lives, all the time, fighting the feelings he’s been developing for her since the beginning. Would he be able to quell these passions for her, or will they both end up risking their lives for what has been building between them?
Once again, Ms Eros has written a non-stop, action filled, erotic story filled with creatures we only dream of, and some who have filled our nightmares. It was moving to watch the way Constantine’s heart continued to change and it fought against the Faction inside him. The author introduces characters we aren’t sure we want to like, but somehow, they burrow into our hearts, no matter how unlovable they are.
I thought this would be an interesting book series. I'm a fan of MFM and try to keep an open mind on the subject of sex, you know, different strokes for different folks. This book series was a bit hard to take. Overall, the subjugation and degradation of women for the express purpose of breeding, including gang rape, rape, physical violence perpetrated on women, etc., makes it a bit hard to finish. Add to the violence that each book doesn't have an ending, makes you wonder what the heck is going on. If you have issues with violence toward women and like your books to end with some sense of finish, this book series will be very disappointing.
Also, the books are in dire need of editing. It's kind of annoying to read along and there are missing words, incorrect words, and inconsistent details.
This second part of the story is only 23% of the total words, the rest is bonus novel/novella. It is quite short, but it was free. Strange story which I had mixed feelings about. I might buy the next one in the series, but if there ends up being several more I will not bother as it is expensive for such short books.

When Brandon, following the Mother’s call to the sea, he trips in on the battle between Constantine, Kane and Madden. And with the discovery of Nova and her harborer, Ren, he finds something he never expected. She has powers of her own, a magic that can save or destroy. But Brandon isn’t the only one who senses her, and they need to get going before the Reapers come, and not just Reapers. As with all of the Siren books, this one opened up so many avenues for more series’. It was fast paced and dynamic. I loved every minute and look forward to the ones that follow.
A great read. Constantine is really starting to evolve into something more than a crude and sadistic pervert.
One drawback for me is that Constantine has one too many species in his blood. I do think the author went overboard. Also, we are finding a lot of the newer characters are "secretly" cross bred.
