This author’s style adds another level to her books, which I feel, sets her romance stories apart from others. This Series is so engaging. Love in the USA Series centers around the Lord family, Brothers- Belmont&Charlie, plus Cousin, Maggie. This is Charlie’s story. You first meet Charlie in Book #1, and he is a “Piece of Work” and yet I found myself so drawn to his character. In #2, Charlie continues his lifestyle of casual sex and booze with no direction. There might be hope for Charlie, as he becomes intrigued by Monroe. Ms. Arkadie gives you the impression #3 will be the Monroe and Charlie story.
WRONG. Though, Monroe is back, the author adds a new love interest for Charlie, the very captivating Angelina. Angelina just happens to be his sister-in- law, Daisy’s half-sister. Since Charlie has always had a thing for his brother’s wife, Daisy, the plot gets even more interesting.
What follows, is a very well told story of Charlie’s relationships with not only Angelina, but with his formidable brother. This really is a story of family dynamics, not only the Lords, but also the intriguing tale of Daisy and Angelina’s parents. There is their father, the legendary music composer, Jacques Blanchard, and his former mistress, Madame Josephine Beauchamp, the renowned Creole Singer and mother to his “Angel”. Plus, there is a brief appearance by Daisy’s mom, the intimidating, Heloise Krantz.
There are thought-provoking revelations and very steamy scenes. When reading the very telling conversations between characters, I felt their insecurities and pain. The plot includes more unwise decisions by Charlie, as he desperately tries to find his way. Charlie’s insight on love warmed my heart, “Love is unpredictable. It has its own preference. It’s just a feeling, and the first time it hits you, it knocks the wind out of you. It’s inconvenient as hell, but it comes exactly when you’re ready. And if you’re lucky, you’ll notice it, claim it, and never _ it up.”

I was majorly disappointed with Charlie in this book. I LOVE Z.L. Arkadie's first book with Daisy and Belmont, but this one? Not so much.

I get Charlie's a bit of a player. That's fine and that part she nailed. But what really pissed me off was the supposed way Charlie was pining over Angelina yet letting another woman blow him--and liking it! And having sex with another woman! He patently lied to Angelina when she asked if he had been with anyone since her. He has! The woman who crept into his room! And the thing that really annoyed me? His first thought when he saw her was, "I can't do this. There's a woman out there whose captured my heart and I won't hurt her." BUT instead it was, "Shit, I didn't bring any condoms." WTF?! He might've finally come to his senses when she started riding him, but HE WAS INSIDE HER! HE WAS HAVING SEX WITH HER! Yet he makes it sound like the we're try humping! Ha! Dry humping my ass!

Personally I don't think he's ready to be in a proper relationship. He's too immature and he's not finished sowing his oats.

Don't get me wrong, Z.L. Arkadie is an AMAZING writer. I just feel like THIS book let her down. I think the summary need a little reworking as I felt a little mislead.

Finally Charlie has his own story. So happy, yet a little confused. Why? Cause I seriously felt like Book 2, Charlie had a connection with Monroe. But clearly I was wrong. Not sure why, but I just couldn't connect with Angelina. Charlie is playboy yet he still got it on with Monroe and there I thought he was an asshole for wanting both cakes, yet he knew which cake he wanted more. So in denial Charlie. But I thought it was cute how he thought he was in love with Daisy, he's just like a little boy with a crush on his teacher type of thing.

Anyways, I so wanted to give this a 4star but I couldn't. I love how the previous characters are still around. Especially Belmont and Daisy. You will get to read all about their (Belmont and Daisy's scary and happy moments). Overall, you will not be disappointed cause Charlie will definitely keep you reading till the end just to prove he is definitely a better MAN *winks*.

Another edge of your seat ride!!!

Another edge of your seat ride!!!

I am NEVER DISAPPOINTED with Arkadie's books. This is the 3rd of her Love in LA series. Charlie finally gets his own story. And what a story. Charlie is the younger Lord brother. Always feeling like the lesser brother, he is womanizer who thinks he is love with his brother's wife. His journey to redemption and a real love of his own is both beautiful and achingly slow. Z.L. Arkadie has done herself proud again. And Charlie finally gets his chance for happily ever after. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. For mature audiences.

Charlie Just Say It...You Love Her

This is Charlie Lord's and Angelina Blanchard's story. I hope you have read the first two stories in the Love in The USA series. We know that Charlie Lord I Belmont aka Jack Lord's younger brother and that he has been infatuated with his brother's wife even before they married. To get her out of his system he has had sex with other women and basically stays drunk more than sober. The thing is Charlie is a gorgeous specimen of a man like his brother and women throw their selves at him. Angelina is Daisy, Jack's wife's half sister. They had the same Dad, Jacques Blanchard a musician and music 🎵🎶 producer. Angelina Blanchard's mother lives in New Iberia near Baton Rouge and not to far from New Orleans. Her mother was singer and a beautiful woman. So Angelina rewrites scripts and she's a dancer who was accepted and studied at Juliard and she graduated from MIT. So I have set the background for you. Charlie meets Angelina and the relationship between them develops from there. It is a romantically sexual drama. I want to shake them both at times and other times I wanted to cry. This was pretty good. I was glad to see another side of Charlie. I thought it was a interestingly good.

Nice

4 stars

Out of the three books I have read so far Charlie's story in this series has been my least favorite I must admit. I didn't connect with Angel at all in the book she came out of left field for me and the connection just wasn't there. Sure the sex was hot in this book but that is all for this book at least for me.
The struggles Charlie has had in all these books was awesome till Angel come out on the field to play no offense to the author but I just didn't want to read about her. The sympathy was there but only there for a split second. Charlie has whined throughout the series been there used to that but this chick geez go find someone that cares to listen to your coyness when really it became a ploy so yeah man eater is the exact name for her in the read but at the same time Charlie could be called the man whore but his personality clicked with me this chick didn't. Maybe she will for you.

Happy Reading

Fun Read from Male POV

Charlie's story was quite an easy read even through his angst and seemingly easy life. Under that devil may care losey-goosey (some would and do say self destructiveness) attitude is a man of substance fighting to get out. It is hard, though, when the world looks like your oyster, and you can get anything and anyone you want on the East Coast and then go out to Hollywood as the money guy. It's too easy and dangerous, especially if in between coasts you suddenly feel like you fell in love. And everyone seems to be playing a games with your feelings as their prize.
The writing is fun and fierce, which kept me pushing forward. I'd forgotten how much I like Z.L. Arkadie's writing style. After reading this series, I don't think I will forget again.
All-in-all, it was fun and enlightening to delve into Charlie 's psyche and discover his truth even before he did at times.

Too repetitive

This is book 3 in the family saga however it was not as humorous or as charming as Book 2. Whilst I love Charlie I did not relate to Angelina and a part of me disliked her intensely. Time to take a break from the Lord family as the steamy scenes were repetitious and the story a little boring. This one gets 2.5 Stars from me but read it for yourself you may think differently.

I loved Angelina even though the book was about Charlie. Halfway through, he started to annoy me. The self-loathing was just bad.
It was weird because he was crazy over Monroe in the other books, but then suddenly he switched to Angelina.
What I did enjoy was her sisters reflections once Angelina told her she slept with Charlie.
Everyone is so against Charlie always, and here, she gave a really good perspective. Instead of saying he's bad for her and she should stay away.

LITUSA-THE LORDS

These books are amazing. They aren't the usual "girl meets guy" romances, and once I read the first one, I was hooked. The story lines draw you in, and the twists are unbelievable! I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the series!!!

ACK! No character development except he a lush and would f**k a knothole. About 30 pages in I gave it up. I love her other books but this one would be in the trash if it was a paper book.

Exceptional read, I'm hooked on the couples in this series. So far I've really enjoyed the twist and turns these couples face

My very favorite part is no doubt the way Maggie and her cousin go at it, bickering with one another. Their loyalty runs deep.

Oh no!!! I thought Charlie's book would be the best yet I was so disappointed. Seems to me Charlie and Mags friend had chemistry in book 2 and I was really wanting to see sparks fly with those two but low and behold he gets a carbon copy of sorts with his brothers sister :( Boring!!! This could have been something fun and a little angsty had it gone the other way but I was not that lucky! Who said 3rd book was the charm!! The sizzle was lost as well, where I appreciate the h/h didn't jump in the sack in the first hour, I also never felt the connection with this h/h. Boohoo I really loved Charlie.

What I did find very interesting was the sneak peak at the next book in the series. It is another book about Daisy and Belmont and things are not looking up for the couple. Seems insta love may not have been all that after all. Of course I am going to give the next book another go. :)

Ok, I have never left a comment but this book bothered me so much I had to, however I did enjoy first two books. I don't want to give away too much so all I'm going to say is "hero" lied to his so called love and then the book ends with her believing that lie. So how am I to assume they get yea? They can't cause she and her father know and her father works with girl he lied to her about. I also wish "hero" had thoughts and actions that made the depth of love he supposedly felt more believable.

After waiting forever... Charlie gets his act together! Loved seeing him struggle but felt the ending was rushed...I felt Angel needed to have more of a conversation with Charlie than she did to resolve things but I am so glad they got together. The end of the book leaves us hanging but that seems to be the way of this series, worth the read!

Very slow beginning and I never felt I was "into" the book as I was with the first two in this series. It wasn't a captivating story and I found myself bored at times. I do feel let down with this being the third book in the series and I thought maybe the more interesting character then the others, unfortunately not.

I liked this book a lot! I'm glad Charlie is acting like he is finally growing up some, let's just hope he does!! I feel quite bad for daisy bc Jack is so controlling. I'm waiting for her to leave him bc no one should be with someone that controlling to everyone around him!

Slow Starter

This book was a slow starter, which surprised me because the prequel to this book wasn't. This is the second in the series and while it can stand alone there are many places where I found it helpful tho have read the first inn the series. It took a few chapters for this book to finally get going, but once it did it was good.

Well so much for Monroe. I liked her until half way through and then she went crazy. Charlie turns out to be a ...... I can't say it's got to be read. The last paragraph made me hopeful for Belmont and Daisy so overall it was great

So incredibly drawn!

Fascinating, Sexy, and Riveting! I was drawn to the fight for redemption and character building Charlie adhered himself to to become a better person, for Angelina. It's in-depth and self examination was compelling. Oh, I just loved the story......
