Samantha "Sammy" Carter thinks that the recent murders of four women in Whitechapel are committed by a vampire. The gruesome murders are identical to the murders of Jack the Ripper a hundred years ago. Is there a copycat or is Jack the Ripper back?

Sammy is desperate to prove that the killer is a vampire and one night she follows the killer on the night tube train. But she blacks out after an encounter with the killer and wakes up in the wild west. How and why did she end up there and will she ever get back home?

Vampires, Jack the Ripper and time-traveling. What an amazing combination. This book was really entertaining to read and I enjoyed Sammy's experience in the wild west. Not only is she far from home she is also a bit lost in time and now she has to get used to not only that vampires are really real, but that for reasons she can't understand she was sent back in time.

When Sammy wakes up in the wild west she is a bit groggy and also in danger, but lucky for her, the Preacher show up in the right time to help her out. The Preacher isn't alone. He is traveling with Louise, Harry and Zoe and they are not an ordinary group of people; they are vampire hunters. She also feels that there is something mysterious about them, besides the fact that they are vampire hunters.

This book was entertaining to read and even though I'm a bit sick and tired of the whole vampire genre really liked Tim O'Rourke's wild west theme with time travel. Also, having added Jack the Ripper to the mix was very interesting, The ending wasn't that surprising, but I enjoyed reading the book and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Thank you Piatkus for providing me with a free copy for an honest review!

Vampire Seeker is a story about a girl named Samantha who believes vampires are real and they are living among humans. She spends a lot of her free time searching for vampires and evidence of their existance. One night she finds herself in a vagon of the train with a man she believes is a vampire. Consequently she wakes up surrounded by cowboys, finding out it is the year 1888.

Reading this book was a quite pleasure for me. I find stories about Jack the Ripper very intrique and this one was no exception.

Samantha's character was very likeable and strong. Her narration was done so well. It was full of good desriptions so while reading it I could really see myself in some of the situations and that is what makes this book this good.

I liked the fact that this book ends with a conclusion to this story. We found out who the killer was, why Samantha have found herself in year 1888, who was who and what was the aim of this journey in the first place.

If you like strong female characters you will like this story.
If you like cowboys and westerns you will probably like this story.
If you like vampires and warewolfs this is a story for you.
If you like mysteries you could like this story.
If you like reading about Jack the Ripper, I suggest you read this story.

MICHELLE'S REVIEW:

RATING: 5 UBER SMEXI HARRY STARS - YEHHHAAAA!!

Tim O’Rourke has ventured into the adult genre with a spectacular entrance. Cowgirls & Vampires is a whole lot of brain gymnastics and fun, not to mention some awesome new characters for us to get to know and enjoy. All I am going to say is chapter 23!!!! I do blush!

The Preacher, is actor Sam Elliott in my mind . Sam instantly came to mind. The Preacher is going to win a few hearts, there is something most attractive about a man with a white handle bar moustache and deep voice. Think Sam’s character in ‘The Big Lebowski’. Not same colour hair , and The Preacher is around 40yrs old. But , you get my idea, once you read the book.

http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/...

Harrison Turner aka Harry....oooo the girls are going to love Harry. I have affectionately called him dirty Harry:D Harry, 25yrs old , sandy blonde hair and a bit of a scruff, he is one broody cowboy that gets my heart-a-flutter, he is also a bit of a naughty lad.

*coughchapter23cough*

You may want to turn on a fan before reading this chapter ,it is smokin’.

Our gun totting, cigarette smoking, blonde, gorgeous heroine, is Samantha Carter, aka Sammy. All sorts of things will come to light with her character and some things will stay in the dark. Bring on book 2! I can’t say anything too much as it will spoil.

Louise Pearson, the lucky chicken who won a competition Tim was holding to have her name in this book. She gets quite a big role and one I am sure she will laugh at. Go Louise!

Zoe Edgar, 18years old and a real sweetie. I think she may be slightly crushing on Harry??? Join the queue sister!

( Wee Zach, Tim's son, we still need to discuss who is intercepting my bribery candy, you aren’t picking my name...hehe!!)

Within the first four chapters Tim has the reader on a ride and also starting the brain gymnastics. Once you start you won’t stop reading, you can’t. He has many surprises and twists waiting to pop out at you.

When you think you have it worked, like this smarty pants ..... well.............?

This book truly has the Tim Factor stamped all over it.

I am Team Harry but I have a big ol’soft spot for the Preacher. Harry and Sammy share some wonderful banter that had me laughing out loud.

Seriously Harry, please don’t hold back on what you think...lol!!

Team Potter and Team Harry, two great guy characters of Tim’s, but very different. I think Potter , even he would blush at what Harry says and does.

The action scenes were awesome. The smexi scenes will........ and the characters you will want to keep coming back for more. The bad guys are real bad!! Tim’s version of vampires, ‘Vrykolakas’, the red bandana wearing villains are not your pretty sparkly variety. The mystery will keep you guessing, and Harry...well, Harry ...... * waggles eyebrows*............... I’ll let you find that out for yourself.

Yehaaaaaa!!!!! Ridem’ Cowboy!!

( No pun intended...well..maybe.....)

FAVE QUOTES:

I glanced across the fire and could see a half-smile tugging at the corners of Harry’s lips. Arsehole, I thought to myself. The good-looking ones always were.

With his mouth turned down, and fixing me with his grey eyes as I stared vacantly up at him, he shook his head and said, “If your brains were dynamite, there wouldn’t be enough to blow your own nose with. Now c’mon.”

“Don’t they ever stop shagging?” I giggled aloud.

“Because if you don’t keep your eyes closed – if you look at me, then this becomes real,” he whispered. “It stops being a fantasy.”

He made a mumbling noise against me.
“ Say what?” I shouted. “Stop mumbling!”
“Get your tits outter my face!” he roared at me. “I can’t see a god-damn thing!”

Tim O'Rourke has taken his 1st trip out of YA & straight into Hott Damn!! What an incredible adventure!!

I will admit I was a little nervous going into this. After following Kiera & crew from the Kiera Hudson series for so long now (8 books so far!!) I wasn't sure how I would feel about getting involved with a new group of characters. As it turns out I feel GREAT! Sammy is one bad-ass cowgirl & her friends are........... well their something else!! And Harry, oh Harry *sigh* I feel as though Im cheating on Potter & I can't seem to help myself. Chapter 23............just sayin ;) *blushing/grinning* moving on........

Without going into the plot & spoiling the fun let me just say this book will screw with your head. I didn't know if I was comin or goin. As per usual O'Rourke style lots of action, blood, gore (I was actually cringing at some parts.....just gross) & surprises around every corner. And the last chapter...UGH pulling my hair out here!! This new series has great potential & I for one CANNOT WAIT to see where he goes from here!! Im sure I will love it. I dont think he could write a bad book if he tried at this point. Smashing start for a new series!!

3.5 giddy-up stars for this snappy little tale of a vampire believing cigarette smoking, British girl that takes a time traveling tube right out of London 2012 into Colorado 1888 in search of Jack the Ripper.
Sammy is now a pistol-shooting Cowgirl that has hooked up with a dude called “The Preacher” and his posse of Harry the Hunk, Zoe and Louise. The group is hired to search out vampires by another Brit, the very sexy and handsome, Spencer Drake.
Well… things are not as they seem and lots of interesting twists occur. You will have to read to find out what these twists are.
However...let me say that chapter 23 was a “growling” good time.
This is the first book I have read by Tim O’Rourke and I know it will not be the last.
Very anxious to find out if Sammy and Harry will meet again…

I thought Tim O'Rourke had me with the Keira Hudson series. I thought the same again when I read 'Moonlight', from his Moon Trilogy, and then in his latest series, Sydney Hart, in the novel 'Witch'. 'Vampire Seeker' is no exception to the rule. It's wacky, adventurous, action-packed, fun and gory. From a vampire seeker in London, 2012, to a cowgirl in the Wild West in 1888, Samantha Carter is a brilliant heroine.

'Vampire Seeker' begins with Samantha following a Jack the Ripper copy-cat killer in London 2012. Samantha believes that the killer is a vampire and, as she has had an obsession in trying to prove their very existence, when she hears of the latest murder via a police scanner she exploits the situation by tracking him down. This is a very brave and courageous move, and even though risky, Sammy is on a mission for what she believes in. She is studying criminology but reading about, researching and studying vampires is her thing. She cannot let this moment pass. She is so close to the truth.

With the police on her tail, as she is seen near the crime scene, she follows the stranger she believes a vampire and murderer as quickly and quietly as she can. She ends up at a Tube station and boarding a train she sees the stranger take. With only moments before the police reach her she pushes her way through the carriages to find her 'vampire'. Throughout the following pages words are exchanged and then there is a bright light....

….when she wakes, Sammy is in the Wild West in 1888. She is dressed in denim and can handle a gun or two very well. She is in a tricky situation as soon as she wakes, with a gang of men lying around her that she has supposedly killed and another man behaving in a threatening manner towards her who has disarmed her and ready to take advantage. It is at this point that Samantha meets the Preacher, Louise, Zoe and Harry, a group of possible outlaws that treat Samantha as if she were one of their own.

To elaborate any further would completely spoil the story, however Samantha needs to work out how she arrived in the Wild West in 1888, why she woke up there and how she can get back to London, 2012. Is it connected to the murders taking place, or the possible vampire she had followed? Or is it all a dream?

Sammy's character is very strong. She is a decisive gal with ambition and courage. She handles herself well in most situations and stands up to the other characters in the novel. Although she isn't easily pushed around or deceived easily she still retains her femininity and sexiness. Samantha is wise and is able to pick up skills very quickly, despite having to get used to a new way of life.

Throughout 'Vampire Seeker' there are many action scenes that are quick-paced, violent, gory and sickening. This all adds to the thrill and excitement and the pace of the novel. Tim's writing is so clear to the reader that although you are using your own imagination, the details of these action sequences are still vivid and clear from the writing. Every movement made can be imagined easily, allowing the reader to live in the moment themselves.

With Tim's books that I have read thus far I have felt alive when reading them, as if beside the characters, like I am there with them. With 'Vampire Seeker' I felt most of this, however I not only wanted to be there with Samantha but I wanted to be Samantha Carter. I wanted to know how it would feel to shoot pistols and ride a horse in denims, belonging to a group of possible outlaws. Would I want to stay in the Wild West, 1888, or return to London in 2012?

'Vampire Seeker' not only makes for such a great read, but it captivates the imagination so much that you can see it, you can feel it. I was taken on a roller-coaster ride of fantasy every few pages where one minute it is like the TV series 'Life on Mars', the next 'Back to the Future Part III'. The only difference being that here we have a female lead character. I have been watching a few westerns on TV recently, such as 'Deadwood' and 'Hell on Wheels', and reading Vampire Seeker simply tied in with this theme with the added bonus of the faster, more adventurous pace, along with the paranormal direction. There are also so many twists and turns that one direction that the novel took made me think of the movie 'From Dusk 'til Dawn' but I will not elaborate too much here, other than to say that a relationship between certain characters have similar circumstances.

The Preacher character is almost like a father-figure type character in my mind. He is out on a mission himself with his fellow riders and he is a leader. Samantha is helped by the Preacher and although he, Zoe and Louise have been friendly and accepting of Samantha, taking her in as one of their own, Sammy has her doubts about the group as the story unfolds and questions the Faith of the Preacher.

And then there is Harry, Harry Turner. I can definitely see why this novel is for new/young adults, 17 yrs plus, as the sexual tension is very hot and intense. If you are looking for a romance theme, or at least the hope of one with a strong and silent type cowboy you will not be disappointed. He is like Clint Eastwood in 'High Plains Drifter', which funnily enough has an almost paranormal feel but not in quite the same way that 'Vampire Seeker' has. Aside from Samantha, Harry is my favourite character that I cannot live without. I am just dying to know just how bad he is. I can honestly say that if the action and gore don't get the blood pumping, Harry certainly will!

I need to read the sequel right now. I cannot wait for the release date!

'Vampire Seeker (Samantha Carter, Book One)' was received gratefully from the author in return for an honest and fair review.

Big thank you to Tim O ' Rourke for this free read via Amazon. I have to say I was most impressed with the way in which this story was put forth.

A time travel concept with - cowgirls, gunslingers - vampires and even Jack The Ripper . What a unique and interesting storyline, filled with sass, blood, guts, hootin tootin cowboys and cowgirls and vampires and more. Its action packed filled to the brim with goodness.

Characters that you will easily enjoy, a captivating and unique storyline that will only have you wanting more. I read this in one sitting and after reading flew over to Amazon to buy the next to find out, there isn’t one yet loll. ((( pouts ))

After reading this first book in this series, I will be definitely checking out more of Tims work. Its fresh , footloose and hootin.. The sex is smokin but tasteful, the characters are well fleshed out and the storyline put forth with lots of cleverly scripted sequences. The descriptions are well detailed giving the reader vivid details throughout the storyline. Twists and turns are thrown in. - I enjoyed the fact that the story was unpredictable and certainly one of a kind.

A must read to add to your reader. For all those who like an adult vampire novel with twists and turns then this new series is for you

Well where do I start...

I was, I suppose like others who follow Tim's work with bated breath, a tad worried if I would allow myself to get on with another bunch of characters after I fell in love with the Kiera Husdon series, which is still very much ongoing, however after reading this first book of a new series my worries were unfounded!

Tim has smashed his entrance into the adult genre with a pure fire winner with Cowgirls & Vampires. Fast paced action, characters that spark off each other they almost ignite and so many twists and turns throughout even a roller coaster could not match! And romance.....chapter 23 is hot and blush worthy, I would have started with this chapter if I had known which one it was.

I can't wait for the next book in the series to see where this is all going to lead, safe to say I am waiting again with bated breath! :)

*Review*

Tim O'Rourke enters the adult paranormal realm with a new story that captures the imagination with time travel, suspense, smexy romance, and a new brand of vampire called the Vrykolakas. Since I enjoyed Kiera Hudsons series so much, I figured there would be a few surprises along the way with this new installment as well. I wasn’t wrong. The surprise came with the ending and I’m already screaming for the next book.

Samantha (Sammy) Carter is a 22-year old wannabe Criminologist who is trying to prove the existence of vampires. Sammy decides that her life is boring and ends up trailing a man who is suspected of killing 4 women in the last 3 months. While the media seems to believe this suspect is a Jack the Ripper rip-off, Sammy believes he may actually be something supernatural.

After following her suspected killer into London’s subway station and being chased by the police, Sammy meets mystery man who seems to know all about her and tells her that she’s forgotten about him. Sammy soon finds herself in another place and time (1888 Colorado), trying to figure out how she got there in the first place, and what she needs to do in order to get back to her own time (2012).

Sammy realizes that she’s become something of a cowgirl with guns and the whole wardrobe and is extremely fast at the draw. Subsequently Sammy meets Preacher, Louise Pearson, Zoe Edgar, and Harrison (Harry) Turner who has been labeled this books Potter by various reviewers across the spectrum. They are a group of vampire hunters who claim to have lost someone close to them. There are a few surprises as the true identities of Preachers gangs of misfits are revealed and Sammy comes face to face with the supposed real Jack the Ripper.

Tim actually did an amazing job in world building for this book. The detail it took, including the actual setting of Colorado and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, was straight up awesome. He also created a fairly likable character in Sammy who learns more than a few things about her own unique abilities as she travels back in time to find the mysterious Jack the Ripper. Alas, Tim leaves us on the hook with the ending of this book so we don't know what is in store for Sammy on her return back to her own time.

In conclusion, if you've read any of Tim's other series, you will definitely want to read this one as well. As a warning, this book is highly graphic in regards to the detail that Tim chooses to tell his story with. I would also recommend that adults over the age of 18 read this book because of the nature of the sexual encounter Sammy has with another character.

This is a hard book to rate as I am a big fan of the Kiera Hudson series so this is a big departure from that series. With a title like Cowgirls and Vampires I conjured up a scenario of the wild west and maybe a tavern with lots of vampires and cowgirls save the day but I was not even close. We start off with Samantha following a serial killer down in London and he escapes onto a train with the police in pursuit. Samantha races after him and starts searching the carriages as she thinks he is a vampire because she has always believed in them. All the evidence leads her to that conclusion and when she confronts the stranger, he knows her name. Whilst he has her in a choke hold, he calls her Sam and said "she had forgotten." Sam soon loses consciousness and wakes up in the desert in Colorado in 1888 after coming from London in 2012. Confusion reigns as Sam wakes up dressed as a cowgirl and wearing guns. Matters go from bad to worse when asking help from a handful of cowboys who seem to only have evil on their minds so Sam just shoots them. She tags along with the Preacher who stumbles upon her and joins the band of misfits in his crew. Louise seems the nicest as Harry is a bit of a jerk though quite good looking and they are also hunting vampires. So as not to appear crazy, she doesn't mention she is from the future though she would kill for a real cigarette and a bath. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so let me just say that nothing is as it seems and Sam is trying to stay alive while finding her way home. Vampires or Vrykolakas as they call them are not the gorgeous kind of guys like Edward and definitely not sparkly. There is no way Sam wants to join them and plenty of action scenes to fight their way out of. Lots of questions in this book to set us up for Book 2, who is the Preacher and why did the vampire want her to go back in time? Who was Jack the Ripper and there are lots of secrets to be revealed by the end of the book, some of them will surprise you. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found it hard to switch focus after just reading "Dead Flesh" recently which is another great series. Really looking forward to finding out the answers in the second book, great reading as always Tim and Harry was an okay substitute for Potter though Harry certainly steamed up the pages :)

Samantha Carter wakes up lying in the dirt, looking up at a clear blue sky, dressed as a cowgirl but most importantly of all no idea how she got there!! One minute she was following a suspected vampire/murderer across Whitechapel in London and then her life has been turned on it head!!
Samantha soon meets fellow vampire hunters The Preacher, Harry, Louise and Zoe and joins their crew who are hired by fellow Englishman Spencer Drake. He wants them to accompany him by steam train into the deadly vampire filled mountains to mine for gold.
As you would expect from author Tim O'Rourke this book is a fast, action packed adventure, with twists and turns that keep you guessing to the end. This is billed as being Tim's first adult novel, and has a steamy adult relationship/attraction running through the book between some of the characters. Being a fan of Tim's other books The Kiera Hudson Series which is a YA read I must say I have never felt as if I was reading something which is aimed at a YA audience.
I love that Tim writes such a strong female lead in his books and I especially loved Samantha and her band of vampire hunting cowboys/cowgirls. I think Tim writes characters which are so real I feel as if I know them or would be comfortable hanging out with them, not in the way that I know any vampire hunting cowgirls, but in the was Sam speaks and behaves Tim makes her and her voice so familiar!
The book leaves you with a cliffhanger, not knowing what is coming next and I for one cannot wait for the next installment. Congratulations Mr O'Rourke on a new and fabulous book series :o)x

Something fresh and new that kept me up into the wee hours. Definitely my number one summer read that I would recommend.

Sammy has always known Vampires have existed even without proof and a recent spate of murders mimicking that of Jack the Ripper has her intuition peaked. She goes on the hunt but ends up the victim herself only she's gone back in time to 19th century America.

Stranded and confused in the desert she's taken in by a group of Vampire Hunters and hopes to try and find a way back home. She knows her comrades are not all that they seem but she didn't quite realise the extent until she joins them on a hunt.

Great book with a new twist much needed in a saturated market of Vampire books. The Vampires portrayed are ghoulish and grotesque, true monsters that prey on humans and must be stopped.
The characters of the Preacher, Louise, Zoe and Harry are the perfect blend to make you love and loathe them at times aswell as keeping your curiosty with their secrets that are slowly revealed.

The scenes are so detailed that it's easy to imagine 1800's cowboy country with even the food adding to the charm. It was rough and gritty for Sam as it would have been which was enjoyable to read as it's a very different scenario to me.
The language used was realistic of the time but easy to read and follow and the chapters were just the right length to allow the story to flow properly.

It's also not only the desert that's hot in this book with her relationship with the hunter Harry reaching fever pitch. Hoping to read more of those two in the sequel as it just wasn't enough but it is all quality rather than quantity I suppose.

Eagerly awaiting book two!

In his newest series, O’Rourke takes on cowgirls and cowboys, but adds a deadly twist: vampires and weres walk among them. But, what the synopsis doesn’t tell you is that not only are there vampires and werewolves, but also many intriguing characters, time travel, and, oh yes, some memory loss. This makes for an epic read as Samantha Carter attempts to hunt down a killer… the man she believes might be Jack the Ripper. Is it possible he was a vampire? You’ll have to read to find out…

Now, readers beware. This is just as well written as any of O’Rourke’s other books, but unlike his others, this novel is purely for adults. Yes, it’s not until a little over half-way through that the explicit sexual scene takes place (which, sadly to say, is not something I like to read in any novel—bit of a prude here), but that aside, there are also many horrific, detailed, bloody scenes that begin way before that. Scenes that will make your blood crawl, your eyes bug out, and your lunch might just want to come up to say hello as well. In other words, it’s a tad bit gross. But, I don’t mind extreme horror when it’s well done, and O’Rourke has once again written a wonderful novel filled with mystery and intrigue, and it definitely piqued my interest and kept me guessing. I truly did enjoy the novel, aside from the explicit sex scene, and I am eagerly awaiting the next novel.

I'd give it 15 stars if I could...
Ok, can I say WOW!!? This book kept me intrigued from the first few pages until the last few words I couldn't read fast enough and every time I had to put the book down, I wanted to die, specially since these days I had tons of things to do and therefore, less time to read. Sammy is completely lovable, the gang of her "friends" is unpredictable and completely endearing. Zoe is a sweet teen who can be as fierce as a wolf while Louise is a Tigress. The preacher is mysterious and yet friendly, almost like a bat and Harry...well... he's a big Rottweiler who will start fierce and mean looking and end up lying on his back begging for you to scratch his belly. Even Drake can have his own appeal at times. I loved travelling back in time and solving the mystery with Sammy, specially such an old cold case.

I absolutely loved this book, the story was original, the characters were well defined, in a way that you ended up feeling friendship and affection for them, the descriptions were vivid, I swear there were moments I was on that train, or even riding Moon. It took longer for me to read, but it was so well worth it I'll probably re-read it soon.

This book literally took my breathe away! My head is literally spinning from everything that went on.

Short recap Samantha was on the underground chasing someone she believed to be a vamp, she gets attacked and wakes up in the 1800's, were she has skills she never knew she had and a Preacher willing to let her tag along with him and his friends.

Tim's writing really flows and is more like watching a movie, as soon as it's grabbed you your done for as you just have to find out whats going on, who everyone is and why, trouble was every time I thought I had it worked out, it twisted.

I found samantha really interesting and amusing, some of the things she thinks and comes out with made me laugh, but who wouldn't need a sense of humour in her situation!

There's such a variety of characthers, I have to admit I did like Harry, his arrogant yes, but he has a certain charm.

I will be adding the rest of this series to my reading list as was an extremely good read and had me oohing and saying 'what' all the way through.

Word of warning no vampires sparkle in this book, also contains gore......

5 vampy and racey stars.

Another great book by Tim O'Rourke! Anxious to find out what happened to Samantha Carter. Always leaving his readers wanting more, Tim O'Rourke couldn't have written a better mystery for us to fall into. (Well he has with the Kiera Hudson Series but you get my point *winks*) To go from 2012 and travel back to 1888, hunting vampires, meeting a preacher and his gang of vampire hunters, has hot sex with one of them, and still come back to present time still not sure of what is really going on within her own world; Samantha Carter has had one hell of an adventure! This book is amazing and I can't wait to read the next one!

This is the first book by Tim O'Rourke that I've read. Jumping on the band wagon late has its advantages though. Mainly, I get to go back and see what I've been missing if I run into an author that sparks my interest. I'm happy to say that I can now add O'Rourke to that list.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Vampire Seeker and even if I had a preconceived notion, I wouldn't have come close.

This book was like no other Vampire book that I've read, at least not that I remember. It was an interesting combination of historical Western, mystery, time travel, a touch of vivid gore, vampires, danger for everyone involved, shape shifters and romance. You also shouldn't pick this one up expecting smexy vampires. O'Rourke's are anything but smexy. These vamps are straight out of your worst nightmare. *shivers* Needless to say, nothing about this book was what you would expect and sometimes that's a very good thing.

The characters were interesting, to say the least. There was plenty of action, lots of mystery and enough twists and turns to keep readers wondering up until almost the very end exactly who the good guys and bad guys really were. Throw in a hot little romance and there was more than enough packed into this book to keep almost any reader's interest.

Just a warning, even though Vampire Seeker doesn't end in a huge cliff hanger, it does end leaving readers with a gnawing desire to know what could possibly happen next. Needless to say, I will be watching for the second installment.

Gotta love Tim and his paranormal stories. They set themselves apart of the mainstream books about vampires and all things that go bump in the night. His ideas are like none other. That is why I will continue to follow him as an author. His latest book “Cowgirls and Vampires” is a great story involving action, adventure, romance and mystery. Not to mention the ending, TIM! How can you leave us like that? We’ll talk about that later. Back to the story. The description Tim gives about the Wild West is unbelievable. You would think he knows from experience all about how life was back then, and that makes this an even more enjoyable read. His descriptions really put you in the story, able to picture every rock, mountain, town perfectly in your mind, right down to what the characters are wearing. The story itself is enjoyable too because his creepy crawly characters are not what’s out in the mainstream today. His are a whole different breed just like in his Kiera Hudson series. Tim has given each of his characters a bit of mystery so you are always guessing who the bad guy is or what that person is really about. It completely makes it a page turner. I really hope Tim continues this as a series, especially after the ending. Shame on you for leaving us hanging like that *sad face*. I need to know what happened to Harry! Enjoy.

I cannot get over how some books leave me wanting to get through parts and reach something of interest, but Tim O’Rourke has yet to bore me. Every page kept me captivated.

This new character of Tim’s, our hero Samantha with her dangerous interest in vampires leaves you knowing there is soooo much more to her past/future than has been written in this first book. So many questions are yet to be answered from who took her to the past, it cannot of been the ripper, whoever it was wanted her to destroy the ripper surely. How she can ride a horse and shoot like a true cowgirl warrior, to when or if she will meet up with her new kick arse friends. I think the preacher has a lot of those answers.

I absolutely adored this world Tim has created. I honestly didn’t think I would, I was very wrong. The only thing I don’t like, is I have to wait for book 2 

Five stars Mr O’Rourke – again!

I love everything about this story, from the steadfast writing to the engaging characters. I love Sean Potter but I think he's got some tough competition in Harrison Turner and I think I'm biased to the latter because I have a thing for growling, furry, hot-blooded beasts!

There is a thin line between reality and fantasy. What would you do if you found yourself within the line? Where you're not sure what is real anymore, questioning everything and everyone, especially yourself - your very own mind. You wonder then what is left. Faith?...but in what exactly?

Samantha Carter, driven by the unfathomable need to uncover the truth, finds herself trapped in a peculiar situation. She must find the way out.

Ok - I really liked this book. Now, I am not a big fan of vampires being super bad but this was done so well. The chemistry between Harry and Sammy was great. Even though I think the tension was good between them, it could use a little bit of development. Also, there were a lot of surprises in this book but I wish it were a bit longer. I really can't wait to read the next one.

Couldn't finish this. It wasn't bad, but I despair of finding a vampire novel that excites me in the same way Interview with a Vampire or Fevre Dream did 25 years ago. Only Anno Dracula has come close. I keep trying to rekindle my adolescent love for the genre, but it's not working.
