Picked this issue up since it features Jim Woodring artwork, and was particularly intriguing since this is one of the more less common Woodring works to feature someone else writing the story. A self-contained story to this single issue, the story follows a man on two separate narratives. In one case, he's trying to help a stray cat who has its head stuck in a broken milk glass bottle and the other is a dystopian sci-fi tale where a group of possibly alien scientists perform a rapid C-section on his wife to remove their baby. It's tough to gauge if there is a linking theme, but if I had to make a guess it involves the concept of freedom and escaping confinement. The story is largely surreal, so perhaps Scott Deschaine and Jim Woodring enjoyed the aspect of blending two fairly unrelated narratives into one and allowing Woodring's gorgeous artwork to do the heavy lifting. It's a slight story, but rather well done overall.
