The question: “Would you like to try BDSM with me?”

Elizabeth Kemp never thought she’d ask friend and colleague, Preston Lancaster to be her submissive. Even more surprising, he agrees – on one condition: she has to return the favor. Her two weeks as his Domme ends with a dramatic climax she wasn’t prepared for – she’s hopelessly in love and terrified he’ll break her heart.

Dr. Preston Lancaster has been in love with Elizabeth since the day they met. His two weeks with her are more than he ever imagined, but when the tables are turned, she refuses to make good on her promise to reciprocate. Preston isn’t giving up without a fight, but he’s not fighting for two weeks of dominance anymore. He’s fighting for forever.

Can Preston convince Elizabeth that her heart is safe with him – or will two weeks be all he has?

Hi, my name is Siren Allen. I’m a writer and lover of all things erotic and romantic. I reside in southern Mississippi where I write steamy romances that are guaranteed to make you blush. When I’m not listening to the characters in my head and jotting down their adventures, I am busy working as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.

I love to travel, preferably with my husband, so he can do all of the driving. I enjoy time with my family, who are just as silly as I am. I have no children…yet, wish me luck! My hobbies are reading, writing and shopping, though I hate trying on clothing. If I wasn’t a writer or a Laboratory Professional, I would probably be a Secret Agent. But that’s the beauty of being a writer; you can create your own world and be whoever you want to be. In my imaginary world, I am Queen and my siblings are my minions.

I don't normally read this type of book, but I have to say it was well written. It is steamy hot with an emotional story line. The ending was sweet and satisfying.

Yours, For Now is a short story that follows a young doctor named Elizabeth. Elizabeth is a strong woman, but she hides a lot of who she is. She doesn't trust anyone except for her best friend, Preston, who is also a doctor. That trust has lead her to ask Preston one of the biggest questions one could ask, "Would you like to try BDSM with me?" Preston, of course, is shocked beyond belief, but excited. They decide to go through with it, but things quickly change when they realize how much they care for each other. the problem is that Elizabeth has some demons that Preston doesn't know about. She may care for him, but her nightmares and fears may keep them apart for good.

I had a blast with this little gem. The story is just 100 pages long and Allen managed to give us a little bit of everything. The book is super sexy. I found myself going back a few times to read over some "special" scenes. Wow, if Allen can do that in a novella, I would love to see what she can do in a longer story. I feel there will be a lot of cold showers in the future. Next to the sexiness, I loved all the emotion in this book. Elizabeth trusts Preston as her best friend which is why she asked the question that she did. She just has a problem trusting someone with her heart. Her past is terrifying when it comes to men in her life. Her only saving grace was her grandmother and after her death, she hit rock bottom.

I really loved Elizabeth. Even with such a tragic past, she is very strong and she had a great sense of humor. You will instantly love her, I know I did. Preston is in love with Elizabeth and have been since they met. Her proposal is a dream come true. He knows she has issues with love, but he wants to take this opportunity to show her he is nothing like who hurt her in her past. But she has to let him in first. I loved Preston so much. I loved that he never gave up on Elizabeth and he was always there for her. They may have agreed on a month of their BDSM experiment, but Preston wants more.

This story was just amazing. I loved all the things that we learn from our characters. They both have some captivating and scary pasts. I would have liked more from Elizabeth's past given what we learn. It would have been a bit more suspenseful for me. But this book does a great job focusing on these two characters and their fears. I loved the unexpected turns this book took. I don't want to spoil what happens, but it is pretty intense and emotional.

If you want a quick and sexy read, this is the perfect choice. I love how well Allen captured the feelings of the characters. There never was a dull moment in this book. This was a beautifully put together story. It felt real and it was easy to relate to. I was very much engulfed in this book. This is definitely worth getting on your ereader.

Wow, what an intriguing read and it all started with the question, "Would you like to try BDSM with me?"

Physician Elizabeth Kemp is a sweet and kind woman that always needs to be in control. Due to a terrorizing childhood and an equally horrific prior relationship, she is lucky to be alive and in control of her life. She owes her almost sanity and good fortune to her grandmother, who rescued her from her father's clutches. After her grandmother passed away, Elizabeth relied on her therapist to keep her on the straight and narrow. Anorexia and depression are only two of the many hurdles she has triumphantly overcome. In spite of her tortured past, she is a dedicated doctor, has a nice group of friends and is secretly in lust with her best friend of six years, Dr. Preston Lancaster.

Preston has been in love with Elizabeth since the moment they first met during their residency program. Now they work for the same hospital and spend some of their off hours together. Over coffee, Elizabeth propositions Preston and they agree to try BDSM together for a total of four weeks, splitting the Domme role in half. By the end of the first two weeks, Elizabeth is in love with Preston, yet unwilling to fulfill their agreement by being his submissive. Elizabeth is scared of her feelings and does not want to be hurt once again. Little does she know that Preston wants more than just two weeks, he wants a lifetime.

I enjoyed this serious, yet strikingly unconventional read. The light BDSM scenes are written with love, as the author tenderly creates a trusting environment for the BDSM amateurs. Elizabeth's emotions, doubts and fears are expressed with significant realism. If you are looking for a steady paced, erotic romance, take a look at Yours, For Now.

Yours, For Now is not really my cup of tea. I don't get how someone who was abused would tempt to start a BDSM relationship with her best friend. And I can't really get behind a heroine who is so afraid to go after what she wants that she will pretend to be someone she might not be, to still get her cake and eat it too.

A Short and Sweet Romance with A Bit of Spice and Fun!

The Review:
Yours, For Now is an enticing, romantic story about two best friends who finally come together to experience more. I enjoyed this read and the characters. The dialogue had a few problems and some of the plot points were a bit confusing, but overall, this one made me smile and swoon!

Dr. Elizabeth Kemp has had her eye on her best friend, Preston, since the moment she met him at residence. But because of her traumatic childhood which followed her into her adulthood and her first relationship, she doesn’t trust love and she sure doesn’t trust men. However, that hasn’t stopped her from wanting or craving Preston even though he’s never showed more than a friendship interest in her. Deciding to throw out a line and see what she catches, she takes a chance and acts on her desires, asking him the one question sure to get his attention.

"Would you like to try BDSM with me?"

Dr. Preston Lancaster has been in love with his best friend, Eliza, since residence but has hesitated to act on it because he can sense her distrust of men and her disbelief in love. However, when she asks the one question he never expected to hear from her, he quickly agrees, thinking an “in” is better that no “in” at all.

Thoughts...
When they agree to two weeks as her being Domme in exchange for two weeks of him being Dom, things get steamy real quick. They were kinda perfect together, especially in the first half of the book. Eliza has a traumatic past she’s trying to overcome and she denies any feelings that come close to love. What she never expected was to realize her feelings for Preston were more than lust, thinking she was incapable of love.

Preston has had troubles of his own, mostly in the form of one psycho ex-girlfriend, but this hasn’t stopped him from wanting Eliza or trusting they could have something beautiful together. Thinking he can show her his love, he jumps on the chance to spend a month with her, intimately. There is light BDSM play as Eliza explores the power of control. She likes not feeling like the victim and I think this bit of power, along with Prestons patience and kindness, help her heal.

The amateur BDSM play in the book was more along the lines of a couple of blindfolds and a few commands so it was light enough that it wouldn’t discourage a reader but playful enough to bring the spice!

The Trouble with Plots and Dialogue...
Both of these characters were insecure because there is a lot of miscommunication and I felt some of them were unnecessary because there was enough going on without the addition of “not talking”. Also, there were a lot of “getting to know you” moments which felt strange considering they had been best friends since residency, spending lots of time together, hanging out with each other at their houses. But they knew next to nothing of one another, especially on personal details. And lastly, the dialogue, mostly towards the end, felt off and a bit rushed, as did the story.

The Wrap Up:
This book had some problems with plot and dialogue, but it was a sweet, short read of about 134 pages that did entertain and left me with a good feeling. I enjoyed this one and would definitely read more by this author.

My Thoughts:
I couldn’t wait to read this one as soon as I heard about it. I wanted that steamy read where the characters explore the BDSM scene together.

When I first started reading this book I did like it. The pace seemed a little fast but I really enjoyed meeting both Preston and Elizabeth. Preston is a dreamy doctor who was once a geeky guy who really had to grow into who he is as a person. He is a strong guy who just want to melt for because he seems to have finally figured out his path in life and now he is out to gain the attention of a woman he has been in love with for some time. Elizabeth seems just as powerful since she is also a doctor who had to grow from a dark past. She seemed fun and willing to try new things since she suggests they try BDSM in the first place, even though they have always only been friends. There were several lines in the book that I just really felt connected with because they are private jokes or things in my own personal life.

During the second half of the book I lost a little of my connection with the characters because I felt that everything was moving really fast. Plus I felt the more of the book I read the more miscommunication there was between the two of them. I mean it is understandable to have some problems with the relationship but there seemed to be a lot of miscommunication going on in this book which was the frustration between Elizabeth and Preston moving forward. Then there was the fact that as more and more of Elizabeth’s past was shown I really started to feel like she went through a lot. I did feel bad for the things she had endured in her past but I also felt that the author might have given her a past with too many broken moments. There is a fine line between what you can believe a person went through and what is beyond what one person has probably experienced in their life.

Overall, I did like Elizabeth and Preston I just didn’t care for some of the situations they were thrown into. The author tries a little hard to give them obstacles to overcome and I wish the road to love had been a little easier for these two. It was a good story though and I hope to read more books by this author in the future.

Let me start of by saying, its not my regular type of read, however, this book gave me a lot of entertainment. I had read quite a heavy emotional book before this one, so this, although complicated, was not as deep as my last book.

BDSM is not my usual type of reading material. I did find the beginning of the book grabbing my interest because the dialogue between the two was very good, kept me entertained reading it.

She is quite taken with the Dr, who she has known forever, and he with her, just that they both don't know it yet, he does, he knows where his heart lays, but she wants to 'get him out of her system', it didn't work though.

The only confusing bit for me was, how could someone who has been abused want to experience BDSM with someone? Its not something I can get my head around. However, this is fiction!!! so I guess, a bit like soaps, anything can happen right?

The ending is predictable but it didn't deter from the story.

The author writes well, I just think a little bit more to detail would be called for. On the whole, I had to give this 4 stars as I did enjoy it.
