In Let’s Talk, Bill Crowder presents fresh viewpoints that remind you of what an extraordinary privilege it is to enter into the throne room of God. Encouraging you to enlarge your view of and appreciation for prayer, Crowder offers biblical insights into who God is and why prayer matters. Let’s Talk motivates you to make prayer a priority in their walk with God. This was loaned and reccomended to me by a friend. It's a great book for explaining why we should pray and expanding on it. I felt that I learned much from it and I feel "Let's Talk" would help others. It is well written and interesting with lots of anecdotes that you can relate to. Fiction is my preference, but it is great to be refreshed, so my Christian life is enhanced.
I really enjoyed this book. Im a newbie; I've always believed in God, but never tried very hard to have a relationship with Him. This book helped me to see, though I pray, and there isnt a wrong or right way, there is so much I wasnt understanding about prayer. I am very much looking forward to putting what I learned into action! I like that the author draws from real life stories to make his points, and of course, I love that there are biblical references and poems about our walk with Christ.
This book is good because it explains & breaks down prayer for literally anyone to understand. it doesn’t use a bunch of theological terms & it gives great examples of how to relate talking to God to real life application. It also ends every chapter with reflective questions so the reader really can connect personally with what they just read & also reflect on their own life. I’d definitely recommend this book for people struggling with their prayer life or just want a better understanding of prayer in general. Plus, it’s a very short book so I don’t think it would overwhelm anyone.
I just started getting into my journey with my religion again. so I've been wanting to start reading books based toward that. and this one was one of my first reads and I actually enjoyed reading that which is why I'm going to pass it on to my mom when I see her hopefully tomorrow which is my dad's birthday.
Great book. It sheds a new light on how we should pray. We are not to pray with flowery language but just honest sincere, reverent, and honest conversation with The Lord. Nevertheless not my will be done but His.
This is an easy to understand guidebook to the power, depth and understanding of our need to pray. Just imagine our Lord sitting next to you as you worship Him, thank him and ask for his help. This book is worth re-reading several times.
This was a very profound book. Many times I had to just sit and reflect on the lesson taught in each chapter. Rev Crowder did a wonderful job teaching about prayer and what it truly means. I learned so much from such a small book. Give it a read!
Answered several questions I had. Also helped me be able to explain prayer to someone else. I love that he wrote: "Pursue this renewed desire." That is exactly why I picked up the book.
Let's Talk booklet by Bill Crowder offers six perspectives on prayer:1) dependence because we need God desperately, 2) rest in the hard work that is life, 3) acceptance in whatever the outcome might be, 4) intercession always in every opportunity for all, 5) mystery in God's sovereignty, yet our prayers matter, 6) confidence when torn between faith and doubt, belief and unbelief. Each chapter ends with a "Talking Together" section of discussion questions. Answers the question why prayer matters.
Before reading this book I was an active believer in the power of prayer. However, this book put it into a different perspective for me. The chapters really did a great job of illustrating the different parts of prayers. I also enjoyed how the author uses biblical references and everyday situations that gives readers examples to help them further understand. After reading this book I am now working on how I can improve my prayers and really understand their purpose.
This book was a Christmas gift from one of my daughters. The author discusses through the use of scripture how we grow closer to God through the power of prayer.
Recommendation: If you need a spiritual uplift or a reminder on the power of prayer, this is a GREAT little quick read,
It was a short books that gave me some new insights into praying and prayer. It was easy to read, with verbal illustrations to help understand the concepts.
