Loved every book in this set. 💖

Each couple was amazing. They all had strengths and weaknesses to overcome. Which they did in spades. I love Western romance. Cheyenne McCray is an amazing author. All of her books, that I have read are great. She takes a great story adds some spice and mystery making wonderful books. I totally recommend her books without reservations. Thank you!💖

good stories / abrupt endings

Cheyenne’s stories are enjoyable but the endings are too abrupt, too hard, like an after thought following the drama / mystery/ bad guy conclusion, everything is done in warp speed. She is missing an opportunity to romance the reader to the happy ending consistently.

Hot and sexy

Three great books with hot sexy cowboys and the strong women who love them. Each one of these books is a stand alone story where you will see characters from other books but not need to have read the other books to enjoy the one you’re reading. Really enjoyed the books.

This is the Riding Tall Box Set
Book 1-Branded For You—Megan Wilder and Ryan McBride- This is how Meg meets Ryan. Meg is coming from a broken down marriage- a divorce and feels so worthless because of how her ex treated her. Also there is some history of how her mom and dad treated her , she thinks maybe there is some food for thought there. She moves to where her sister and parents are living and is hoping to get her business off the ground. On her first day in this new town, she meets Ryan Mc Bride. The attraction is immediate. She really likes the feelings he makes her feel. Meg is afraid that something could interfere and stop this budding romance. No truer thoughts had occurred.

There is action, there is romance, there is pain. there is angst. There is death. Everything that I look for in a story to keep my interest peaked and you will have this here.
My rating :5 stars *****

Book 2-Roping your Heart---Cat Hayden and Blake McBride—This a story about how it is never too late to go home.
Cat was together years ago with Blake and was deeply in love with him but she came from a horrible family life. She wanted to stay with Blake but she didn’t want to stay in the same place as her family and she knew Blake would never leave his close knit family to move with her so she just up and left.

She became a champ barrel racer but suffered a horrifying career ending accident. Cat’s had some pretty life changing things happen. She finally does come home to help take care of her grandmother and she ends up teaching horse riding to Blake’s daughter- his daughter that he had by another woman.
There is a lot of twists and turns in this story –but the main theme is forgiveness. When reading this story, I went thru almost a whole box of tissue. Ms. McCray really has a way in painting pictures with words and painting emotions with words. At the very end, there is a unexpected twist so be prepared.
Only thing I think I would have like to more of is Blake be more flexible with Cat. It was either Cat give or Cat do or else it didn’t get done. That is just my option.
Overall, my rating is 4.35

Book 3--Fencing You In –Tess Grady (sister of Meg Wilder) and Gage McBride—This is a story about two lost souls who just want to find their HEA. Tess is working crazy hours to support her daughter as a single parent since her husband was killed in a car accident. Also she is trying to help her mom since her dad died recently of a heart attack. Gage frequently has been coming into the bar/restaurant and he has been asking Tess out but Tess isn’t sure.
When this other guy named Harvey gets a date with Tess, all she could do was think about Gage. Tess decides maybe it was time to go out with Gage.

Unbeknown to Tess, Harvey is looking for revenge against Gage. He was sent to prison due to evidence that Gage gave and Harvey plans to make it where Gage gets hurts and hurts. Tess is somehow mixed up in this psycho’s plan.

I loved the fast pace sction, the down and dirty romance , the danger. I just enjoyed this book period. I give this book a 5 star rating *****.

I liked these stories, first of the McBride family cowboy romances. These brothers (and later cousins) are close-knit and are the guys that everyone (well, almost everyone) likes. In the first story, Megan comes to Prescott to help out in her family's restaurant. She is a little leery of men, since her first husband abused her emotionally. She also has some baggage from verbal and emotional abuse from her parents, for whom she was never "good enough". At a state fair, she meets the handsome Ryan, who likes her quite a bit and sweeps her off her feet.

The second book, my favorite, is about Blake and the woman who left him that he has never stopped loving. This could have been cliched, but McCray takes some time to add a few touches, for example, the accident that left Cat scarred, and the rest of her back story. There is also pain for Blake, as his ex-wife enters the picture.

The third involves Megan's sister, Tess, who lost her husband Steve in a car accident. She has not met another man who she would date - until she meets Gage McBride. He knocks her sock off too. However, Gage has two incidents in his past that weigh in to this story heavily. It takes a while, and some trauma to end this one happily. I liked these stories enough to continue with the series.

After buying and reading the box Riding Tall with books 1-3, I can give the same review for all three books.
The story lines themselves are not too bad, but the execution wasn't great. Last year I dnf'ed the first book, but this time I persevered because I bought the box.
In all three books there were so many unimportant details at times that it made the book very slow and I got bored and skipped those scenes.
The heroes in the books are ladykillers, as we're told, but fall for the heroine right away. All three heroines take some convincing.
The sex scenes in the books don't seem to fit in with the rest of the stories. Suddenly the heroes are very domineering and demanding etc. Obviously Fifty Shades became a success at the time of writing, but I kept having a wtf reaction each time, so... I skipped those scenes.
The characters were all a bit 'cookie cutter', but the 'villain' in the third book was so cliché, he was ridiculous.
All in all, not even worth the 0.99 usd I paid for the box.

Bland. Bland. Bland. All of the characters across the three books were essentially the same.
