Curcumin is a miracle nutrient that prevents and treats a wide variety of serious disease conditions, including: • Osteoarthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia and other painful musculoskeletal conditions; • Heart disease • Diabetes • Depression • Alzheimer’s disease • Digestive disorders • Obesity • Lung and liver disease
If this sounds far-fetched to you, consider the voluminous scientific validations of curcumin’s power and the particular effectiveness of super-absorbable BCM-95™.
Curcumin literally scrubs the oxidative “rust” from your cells, preventing serious disease and reversing diseases you may already have. It helps stop cell deterioration and restores the cellular genetic codes to youthful levels, ensuring those cells will reproduce more like they did when you were young.
More important, from the viewpoint of damaged cell division found in cancer, curcumin also tells these cells to die when their time comes, as ordained by nature, which stops tumor growth.
And that wonderful little yellow curcumin stops inflammation and all of its obvious and not-so-obvious damaging effects, reliev- ing inflammatory problems like arthritis and joint pain and elimi- nating the building blocks for heart disease, diabetes and other diseases that have a foundation in chronic inflammation.
In addition, curcumin has a unique ability to cross the blood- brain barrier, a membrane that protects the brain from invaders like bacterial infections and keeps out most other substances as well, including those that might be helpful. This gives curcumin the ability to deliver its antioxidants and anti-inflammatories directly to the brain, which is particularly helpful in cases of dementia and depression.
In the case of cancer, cutting-edge research shows curcumin has a variety of ways of stopping abnormal cell growth, including an ability to affect cell division on the genetic level.
If that’s not enough, studies also show that curcumin protects the liver and kidneys.
Curcumin has been compared to pharmaceutical drugs for the treatment of a wide variety of diseases and it has come out on top in every case.
The first time I read this 60 page manual, I just skimmed through it. But after a family member reached out to me for advice on taking something for back pain, I came back to read it more thoroughly. There was a chapter on using curcumin for chronic pain that stood out to me, mainly because it talked about how NSAID's (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like aspirin, ibuprofin, and especially the stronger prescribed pain killers, injure and even kill many people. They relieve inflammation by inhibiting the enzyme that causes inflammation (COX-2, or cyclooxygenase). The problem is they also inhibit the COX-1 enzyme, which is needed to protect the lining of our digestive tract and blood vessels. Without enough COX-1 enzyme, ulcers and leaky blood vessels can form.
Curcumin, according to studies presented in the reading, have been proven to do the job of inhibiting COX-2 enzyme but Not affecting COX-1. So, I recommended using a bioavailable curcumin blend with turmeric essential oil in a tablet form as stated in the reading. The one my cousin used was called Curamin Extra Strength Pain Relief. Thankfully, my cousin's back pain was 90% gone within a 24-hour period after taking just 2 tablets!
I am so excited about this because as a holistic nutritionist, I was never really sure what I could recommend to those with chronic pain. Now I know. Since my husband too constantly complains of back pain and has type 2 diabetes, I'm going to have him try it. As with any supplement, check for quality and other ingredients listed. Also, the better your diet, the better any supplement will work.
This is a very small book which I read very quickly. I have been using Tumeric at different times for the last 7 years. I was told by my doctor to buy it from Walmart as and alternative to him giving me hydrocortisone injections in all my finger joints I decided to do that and within one month I was pain free. I started to make my own remedy with the addition of black pepper, almond milk and honey, which makes the Tumeric more palatable and potent. It had an amazing affect on me. My thinking became much better, I lost weight and I generally felt fantastic. I took it 2 times a day for several months. Eventually I decided I didn't need it any more. But I always returned to it for joint inflammation. A long time after I had an accident and the doctor suggested I try it again as nothing else is helping me. After a few days I started to notice a difference and a couple of weeks later I barely have any pain. I was surprised to find that the manufacturers now add black pepper to their remedies, so I bought them again from Walmart.
I read this book with great interest, and was pleased to see how much Tumeric can help us with many conditions.
This is my story and it may not help everyone, so always check with your doctor before taking.
I also take a lot of vitamin C which I personally think adds to the working of Tumeric in my body. Again that is my experience and something you see need to enquire about.
Enjoy this book and I hope your health develops through sensible medical exploration and advice as to what the right steps are for you to take on your journey to wellness.
This book cited many studies done on animals and directly on cells, but it says that there are currently not that many studies done on humans. The information does seem promising enough, though, to give the supplement a try. I have sporadic joint pain and it will be nice to see if over time, my pain will be significantly diminished or even eliminated.
An interesting book on the healing properties of Curcumin, a derivative of Tumeric. It is trying to sell a product, but the scientific explanations and documentation is mostly solid. There are a few leaps and liberties taken to get to the end conclusions. The author also writes, " I'm reluctant to use superlatives in a book like this..." However, she uses many superlatives. With all this being said, I am likely to try adding Curcumin as a supplement to my diet.
