Sage Remington is a very successful artist. But despite his success and wealth, he feels like something important is missing from his life. In search of the missing piece he decides to take a break from his life and volunteer for two weeks in Belize for the Artists for International Aid. What he finds is not only a meaningful purpose, but the feisty and guarded Kate, who runs the program and who thinks he’s nothing but another spoiled celebrity.
Kate Parello loves working in Belize, helping the people and the country, but she hates working with self-centered artists who cares nothing about the purpose of the program and only about using her program to repair their bad reputations. Because of her experience with the egocentric celebrities she refuses to believe that the sexy Sage is any different.
But every moment spent together makes Kate question her view of Sage, even though she tries very hard to keep on refusing him. Can Kate trust that Sage’s wants and believes agree with her own?
He came to Belize to clear his head, and now it was so full of Kate that he could barely think past her.
I liked Kate and how important it was to her to make a difference in the lives of others, for her life to have meaning. I didn’t like how judgmental she was, especially not of Sage in the beginning, when he gave her no reason for thinking badly of him at every moment. She did get better, but I would have preferred if it had happened sooner.
I adored Sage with his big heart and his artistic talent. I loved that he only saw good in Kate even though she sometimes didn’t deserve it, and how hard he tried to make things work between them.
“There’s no better feeling in the world than what I feel when I’m with you.”
The romance was so sweet and sexy, just like I’ve come to expect from this author. Kate kept pushing Sage away, but Sage was determined to make her see that he wanted the same things that she wanted.
This author has a great way of balancing drama with sweet romance, and I enjoyed Sage and Kate’s romance.

The second in this series about the Remington family (thank you KU).
Really liked the hero, Sage (yup, that's his name!) but didn't actually warm to the heroine at all. He was much nicer than she was. Good descriptions of the setting, a small village in Belize (on border of Mexico-I had to look it up. Thought it was still called Honduras) where the heroine does aid work.
He deserved better. Poor guy: she blew so hot and then cold, he didn't know whether he was coming or going. And he was a sex god as well (without being a man-whore. Go figure.)
Hell, I would have taken him in a heart-beat, without creating all this annoying angst that she piled on him. It was weird, but I felt the heroine's persona was somehow fake. She didn't seem like a real person to me, so I guess that amounts to poor characterisation. Perhaps this author is better at drawing the men in her books?
So for me: first two books in the series are winners for the hero and losers for the heroine.

Sage wasn’t like the rest of the celebrities that had made the trip to Punta Palacia, Belize. While the others were there for publicity or to mend their damaged careers, Sage genuinely wanted to help out and give back to the under developed area. As a well-known artist, Sage’s art work sells for over six figures per piece. But money doesn’t define him as a person. In his heart, he’s always wanted to do more. And, this was just the opportunity to do so.
What Sage didn’t expect was to be working side by side with a woman who was not only beautiful, but had a sassy attitude to match. Kate was the program director for AIA, Artist for International Aid. She was used to working with celebrities and their large egos. She didn’t take crap from them and expected them to do what they came to do … to help the people of the community. But it didn’t take long for her to realize that Sage wasn’t like the rest of the celebrities. He was down to earth, there to help and didn’t want any publicity in return. But Kate wasn’t ready to fully let her guard down. Her experience with celebrities was that, deep down, they were all the same. Of all the time she had spent doing this job, she had never mixed business with pleasure and she certainly didn’t plan to change that now.
There’s just something about Sage that makes you fall in love with him from the very beginning. Maybe it’s his selfless ways or that he just seems so normal despite being famous. His character was a breath of fresh air and I really enjoyed getting to know him. Once again, Melissa Foster gives us a book worthy of praise. This is a definite must read. Although it could be read as a stand-alone, for more enjoyment, I’d recommend reading the series in order.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous one. The heroine was so negative and judgemental for the first half of the book that I couldn't begin to see what attracted the hero. It was kind of exhausting. It did improve after that.

This is a story of a positive change for our male lead, Sage Remington who just went on a two week mission to help people in a small village in Belize. He went in with a non-profit Artists International Assistance (AIA). He wanted to paint a mural on a wall in the village with the school children. Kate Parello the program director organized this endeavor for him. There were 3 other celeb's, plus Luce one of the social media techs for one of the stars. Kate and Caleb, Oscar and Evelyn were the main volunteers, but people in the community pitched in to help too. Sage felt like this was what he wanted to do, being hands on helping people.
Kate felt fulfilled helping people wherever she was sent. In this community she had been working towards getting a community well. She had been lobbying the government. She had been there almost two years and would be leaving in three weeks for another assignment. She hated working with celebs because they really only cared about improving their own self image not about the actual people in the community. She was disillusioned with the AIA because of this negativity.
When Sage arrived in Belize and met Kate he thought she was beautiful and immediately warmed up to her. Kate on the other hand looked at Sage as another self centered celeb only interested in himself. She did think he was swoonworthy though. After a few attempts to break through her icy demeanor he finally got a smile. He knew he would have to gain her trust. When the country star came onto her he defended her. He paid for the paint supplies for the mural himself. He started outlining the mural and helping the kids paint it in stages. She organized the painting schedule with the kids. She saw the kids so engaged and come to life. They loved painting the mural and it brightened up the village bringing light, color and a sense of community to the villagers. He eventually kissed her and she trusted him enough to kiss him back. They grew closer and closer finally letting their lusty feelings come to fruition. They spent the rest of the two weeks together, keeping in touch by texting, and skype calls when Sage left. She left one week later but intead of visiting her parents she flew to New York to be with Sage. They decided to start a non profit of their own to supply wells to countries in need.
This was a sweet love story with some character growth along with some sexy romantic scenes and fairytale whirl wind romance along with the family get together. I gave this 4 stars.

Stroke of Love is the second book in Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom the Remington's series. It is the story of Sage and Kate. I had really enjoyed the first book in the series Game of Love and was curious to get to know Sage better. These books do not have to be read in order and can be read as standalones, but I think that they are better when experienced in sequence. You really get to know the characters and family better that way and it adds a lot to the series since the family is so close. While there were plenty of things I liked about this story, I will admit that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first one. I ended up having mixed feelings, and this isn't exactly what I had been expecting.
Sage is tired of the empty feeling his life has been giving him. He has everything he could want, and he appreciates what his life has provided for him. But he is looking for a way to fill the emptiness and help others that don't have as much. He decides to join AIA, a program that helps artists give back to developing nations through volunteer work. He heads to Belize with a few other celebrities and goes with the intent of helping young children with learning more about art in their school. When he arrives he meets the woman in charge Kate. He gets off on the wrong foot with her and she immediately assumes he is just like the rest of the celebrities that show up. She thinks that he is all about good publicity for himself rather than being there to really help out. Sage is determined to prove to her that she has him figured all wrong, and proceeds to offer up ways to help the community. Kate is not receptive at first, but the more time they spend working together the more she realizes that she might have pegged him wrong. She begins to see that he is sincere and is really there for the right reasons. The more they get to know each other the more their feelings and relationship grow, and soon they are both wondering what will happen at the end of the two weeks when Sage is set to return home.
I really liked Sage. He was a great guy and he had really good intentions. He was so thoughtful and caring, and was genuinely interested in doing something important and great with his life. I loved that he was always thinking about the community and the kids as well as Kate. He was smart and giving, and pretty much unlike any hero I have ever read before. I loved how he was always so honest and open even when Kate wasn't the easiest on him. Kate on the other hand was not an easy character for me to get behind. She was extremely judgmental right from the start and continued to be that way pretty much the entire story. Despite the numerous times that Sage showed her he wasn't the way she though, she continued to question his motives and was always thinking the worst of him. Even at the very end when someone would state her fears right to her, she would begin to question Sage again. I just wasn't ever able to connect with her character at all. She was a good person, and I loved her selfless nature. She was dedicated to helping others, and she really cared about the community as well as the others before them. But as far as the heroine of the story, I found her lacking. I think that she did have chemistry with Sage and their attraction was clear, but honestly due to her actions I just found it hard to get behind their relationship. I didn't really buy into the reality of them meeting and falling in love in under two weeks when she spent the majority of them constantly judging.
My other criticism with this book was the fact that the story didn't really seem to go anywhere. Besides the fact that they had a limited time to get to know one another and Kate was trying to get a well put in for the people in the community, there really wasn't a whole lot that was going on. The story tended to drag for me, and at times it was so slow that I lost interest. I would have to put the book down and walk away for awhile because I found myself wanting to skip whole pages. I think that it also didn't really help that I didn't like the heroine. It was hard to get interested in a story that I just never connected to the heroine, and I think I just wasn't really invested in the outcome despite how much I liked Sage. I really liked the first book in this series, and I am curious to get to know the other Remingtons better as well. I am sure that a lot of people will really enjoy Sage and Kate's story, especially those that are fans of the series. This one just wasn't everything that I had been hoping for and didn't end up being my cup of tea. Sage is great though, and he is worth the read. I will still continue this series and just hope that I am better able to connect with the characters in those stories.

^^ ~ I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first one and ended up with mixed feelings.
^^ ~ I really liked Sage—he was a great guy with genuine intentions. He was open and honest, even when Kate made it difficult, and I loved the way his family respected and cared for one another. Their interactions were a highlight for me.
^^ ~ Kate was a tough character to connect with. She was judgmental from the start, and I found myself irritated with her several times. Even when her friend called her out on her unfair assumptions, she still kept doubting Sage. Just when I thought she was finally giving him a fair chance, the smallest thing would send her right back into mistrusting him. Instead of seeing the best in people, she automatically assumed the worst, which got tiring quickly.

Now in the second book in the Remington series we've met both Dex and now Sage Remington. My only issue with these two brothers is they are just too darn perfect. I guess I should just accept that from a romance novel because they're supposed to be swoon worthy for the female readers, but unlike their older brother Jack who at least starts out fairly imperfect in his love story with Savannah Braden in the Braden series portion of the larger Love in Bloom series, the only shortcomings for Sage like Dex in the previous book is their unusual names. I mean who names a guy Dexter, and isn't Sage more common as a female name? I have a granddaughter named Sage! Just like his brother Dex, Sage is both very manly and virile with a great sculpted, tattooed body and handsome face and honest, sensitive and caring as the day is long. Oh and just like Dex, his talents have made him a very rich man at a young age. Faultless!
Our heroine Kate on the other hand while gorgeous and a wonderful person doesn't always seem so smart even though she's super organized to the point of being O.C.D.. She doesn't seem to understand (until her friend Lace spells it out for her) the big picture benefits that using celebrities to help fundraising for the non-profit she works for even if they don't do a whole lot to actually help her in her work to serve the small town in Belize she's stationed in. She cares so much for the people yet she resists Sage using his personal wealth to help improve their lives? She also seems to need an inordinate amount of persuasion by Sage that he's really a good and caring guy and not just another celebrity trying to rehab his image before she gets it. Then even though she's in love with Sage and disillusioned with the organization she works for she still sits on the fence in regard to what to do even after she seems to have committed to Sage's plan. And even though she's deliriously happy to fall asleep and wake up in Sage's arms in Belize she's not sure where she's going to live if she joins Sage in his new not for profit company until he invites her to live with him like that's not a forgone conclusion? And quite honestly maybe I'm getting too old for the modern romance genre because here after a couple of days, these two end up playing house and going at it like bunnies for a couple of weeks without ever fully expressing their feelings for one another or making plans for a future beyond Sage's 2 week volunteering stint. Myself I don't understand how two people having that level of physical intimacy day after day without requiring some expression of a higher level of emotional commitment. I don't get how you give yourself that freely to someone your afraid to say "I love you" to or discuss the future of your relationship? But that's just my personal issue and probably not shared by the over all younger almost exclusively female reading population of romance novels where shacking up for years or long, long term engagements while you shack up is apparently not only acceptable but expected as long as you say "I love you.".

Zudem behält sie ihren eingeschlagenen Weg bei, für die Geschichten dieser Reihe neue Ansätze zu wählen. Dieses Mal steht die humanitäre Arbeit in einem Entwicklungsland im Mittelpunkt. Dabei hat sich die Autorin für einen eher unbekannten kleinen Staat in Zentralamerika entschieden. Belize, einst britische Kolonie, ist seit 1981 unabhängig. Ein Drittel der Bevölkerung lebt unterhalb der Armutsgrenze und ist auf Hilfe angewiesen. Hier setzt Melissa Foster an und bindet ihre fiktive Organisation in das Geschehen ein.
Eines ist klar: „Im Dschungel der Liebe“ ist trotzdem keine schwere Lektüre, sondern eine emotionale und mit Charme erzählte Romanze, die ans Herz rührt. Das verdankt sie vor allem den Hauptfiguren. Die Autorin entwirft mit Kate und Sage zwei Charaktere, die in sich positive und einige negative Eigenschaften vereinen und mit hinreißender Energie überzeugen, wenn Kates organisierter Verstand und Sages Spontanität und sein Bauchgefühl aufeinandertreffen.
Der Maler ist ein kerniger, warmherziger Mann, der – unzufrieden mit seinem luxuriösen und sorgenfreien Dasein – etwas Neues wagen will, bei dem er nicht nur Schecks ausfüllt, sondern selbst aktiv wird. Er weiß, worauf er sich mit der Reise einlässt, freut sich, dem Stress und der Reizüberflutung von New York zu entrinnen und richtet sich gern auf den einfachen Lebensstil, der ihn in Punta Palacia erwartet, und die Hitze und Feuchtigkeit des Dschungels ein. Er möchte herausfinden, warum er, der genug Geld besitzt, um sich halb New York zu kaufen, und dazu vom Erfolg begünstigt ist, im Inneren so verdammt wenig spürt.
Sage kann großartig mit den Kindern umgehen, als hätte er nie anderes gemacht. Er ist großzügig und gibt sein Bestes. Allerdings bürdet Melissa Foster ihm – sofern man es so nennen kann – auch eine „schlechte“ Angewohnheit auf: Sobald er mit einem Bild oder einer Skulptur anfängt, konzentriert er sich allein darauf, reagiert auf niemanden, sieht und hört nichts mehr und vergisst darüber die Zeit. Eventuell auch die Menschen, die bedeutsam für ihn sind?
Kate hat das Gesicht eines Engels und überrascht mit der Selbstsicherheit eines erfahrenen Drill Sergeants. Ihr manchmal recht schroffer Tonfall stellen einen starken Kontrast zu ihren sanften Zügen dar. So erscheint sie weich und hart zugleich, integer und eigensinnig, großmütig und respektfordernd.
An der Seite ihrer Eltern, die für das Friedenscorps tätig waren, wollte Kate schon früh Menschen in Not helfen. Seit beinahe fünf Jahren arbeitet sie für AIA, davon fast zwei in Belize. Sie zeigt ihre Begeisterung für das Land, das Dorf, seine Menschen, vor allem die Kinder der Schule. Fleiß, Entschlossenheit und Tatendrang zeichnen sie aus. Für sie ist es wichtig, das Leben der Schwachen zu verändern, und dafür setzt sie sich ein. Auf Grund ihrer Erfahrungen urteilt Kate zwar nicht immer wohlwollend, so dass sie Sage zuerst ebenfalls zu den Menschen zählt, die sich auf Kosten anderer profilieren wollen. Es dauert etwas, bis sie seinen Wert wahrnimmt und jeder Blick und jedes Gespräch die beiden einander näher bringen. Denn Sage ist ständig darum bemüht, Missverständnisse auszuräumen. Der Mann legt sich richtig ins Zeug, und letztlich belohnt die Autorin ihn.

Der Maler ist ein kerniger, warmherziger Mann, der – unzufrieden mit seinem luxuriösen und sorgenfreien Dasein – etwas Neues wagen will, bei dem er nicht nur Schecks ausfüllt, sondern selbst aktiv wird. Er weiß, worauf er sich mit der Reise einlässt, freut sich, dem Stress und der Reizüberflutung von New York zu entrinnen und richtet sich gern auf den einfachen Lebensstil, der ihn in Punta Palacia erwartet, und die Hitze und Feuchtigkeit des Dschungels ein. Er möchte herausfinden, warum er, der genug Geld besitzt, um sich halb New York zu kaufen, und dazu vom Erfolg begünstigt ist, im Inneren so verdammt wenig spürt.
Sage kann großartig mit den Kindern umgehen, als hätte er nie anderes gemacht. Er ist großzügig und gibt sein Bestes. Allerdings bürdet Melissa Foster ihm – sofern man es so nennen kann – auch eine „schlechte“ Angewohnheit auf: Sobald er mit einem Bild oder einer Skulptur anfängt, konzentriert er sich allein darauf, reagiert auf niemanden, sieht und hört nichts mehr und vergisst darüber die Zeit. Eventuell auch die Menschen, die bedeutsam für ihn sind?
Kate hat das Gesicht eines Engels und überrascht mit der Selbstsicherheit eines erfahrenen Drill Sergeants. Ihr manchmal recht schroffer Tonfall stellen einen starken Kontrast zu ihren sanften Zügen dar. So erscheint sie weich und hart zugleich, integer und eigensinnig, großmütig und respektfordernd.
An der Seite ihrer Eltern, die für das Friedenscorps tätig waren, wollte Kate schon früh Menschen in Not helfen. Seit beinahe fünf Jahren arbeitet sie für AIA, davon fast zwei in Belize. Sie zeigt ihre Begeisterung für das Land, das Dorf, seine Menschen, vor allem die Kinder der Schule. Fleiß, Entschlossenheit und Tatendrang zeichnen sie aus. Für sie ist es wichtig, das Leben der Schwachen zu verändern, und dafür setzt sie sich ein. Auf Grund ihrer Erfahrungen urteilt Kate zwar nicht immer wohlwollend, so dass sie Sage zuerst ebenfalls zu den Menschen zählt, die sich auf Kosten anderer profilieren wollen. Es dauert etwas, bis sie seinen Wert wahrnimmt und jeder Blick und jedes Gespräch die beiden einander näher bringen. Denn Sage ist ständig darum bemüht, Missverständnisse auszuräumen. Der Mann legt sich richtig ins Zeug, und letztlich belohnt die Autorin ihn.
„Die Person, die du liebst, wird all deine Geheimnisse kennen. Sie sieht deine Schwächen, und wenn du gut gewählt hast, wird sie sie nicht gegen dich einsetzen, sondern dir dabei helfen, der beste Mann (oder die beste Frau) zu werden, der du nur sein kannst.“
Neben Kate und Sage sind wenige, aber wichtige Nebenfiguren besetzt, die die Geschichte intensivieren und abrunden und zu einer Lektüre voller Licht und Freude beitragen.

Schöne Liebesgeschichte im Dschungel von Belize…
Der Liebesroman „Im Dschungel der Liebe“ von Melissa Foster ist am 10.06.2020 im World Literary Press - Verlag erschienen und spielt fast ausschließlich in Punta Palacia, einem kleinen Dorf in Belize. Das Ende erleben wir dann in New York.
Der erfolgreiche Künstler Sage Remington reist für zwei Wochen in den Dschungel nach Belize, um dort über das Programm Artists for International Aid (AIA) als Freiwilliger mitzuhelfen, Bildung, medizinische Versorgung und Umweltschutz in einem kleinen Ort zu verbessern. Als er dort ankommt, lernt er die Projektleiterin Kate kennen und fühlt sich sofort zu ihr hingezogen. Sage will ihr Herz erobern, doch das ist gar nicht so leicht, denn Kate hat zu viele schlechte Erfahrungen mit oberflächlichen Promis gemacht. Aber Sage gibt nicht auf. Vor ihnen liegt eine intensive Zeit, die geprägt ist von vielen neuen Gefühlen, romantischen Momenten und ihrem inneren Konflikt, ob sie sich trotz ihrer bisherigen Erfahrungen und Vorurteile auf den jeweils anderen einlassen sollen.
Zwei Abende habe ich für dieses Buch gebraucht, das mich insgesamt glücklich und zufrieden zurücklässt.
Das Cover ist ein typisches Melissa Foster Cover. Mir gefällt es grundsätzlich gut. Ich hätte mir aber mehr Dschungelfeeling und mehr Belize-Atmosphäre gewünscht.
Der Klappentext hat mir gut gefallen. Er führt die Hauptfiguren und den Hauptkonflikt ein und vermittelt eine erste Lesestimmung.
Sage ist 28 Jahre und lebt in New York. Er ist ein erfolgreicher Künstler, doch wird ihm immer bewusster, dass ihn sein Leben nicht erfüllt. Um zu sich zu finden und um zu überlegen, was er wirklich will nimmt er an einem Freiwilligenprogramm einer Hilfsorganisation teil. Dort lernt er Kate kennen und er spürt sofort, dass es mit ihr anders ist. Das erste Mal in seinem Leben fühlt er sich lebendig und beginnt sein Ziel aktiv zu verfolgen. Er will seinen Leben einen Sinn geben. Es gibt ein paar Hürden, doch er stellt sich allen. Sage macht eine nachvollziehbare Entwicklung durch und ich fand ihn sehr sympathisch.
Mit Kate habe ich mich dafür etwas schwer getan. Zwar hat sie ein ehrbares Ziel vor Augen, arbeitet aktiv darauf hin, kämpft gegen alle Widerstände und gibt auch nicht auf, aber ihr Verhalten und ihre Gedanken waren für mich nicht immer nachvollziehbar. Ich kann ihre Abneigung gegen die „oberflächlichen“ Promis verstehen, die nur dorthin kommen, um sich positiv in die Presse zu bringen, jedoch war mir diese Ansicht zu krass und zu pauschal. Sage hat sich aus meiner Sicht von Anfang an von einer anderen Seite gezeigt und trotzdem hat Kate ihn mit in diese Schublade gesteckt. Und es fiel ihr auch im weiteren Verlauf schwer, von ihrem Vorurteil Abstand zu nehmen. Es wird ihr schon noch deutlich, aber wie und zu welchem Zeitpunkt lässt sie schon fast ein wenig naiv erscheinen. Sie nimmt zwar eine Entwicklung, doch für meinen Geschmack ist diese zu gering. Leider bin ich mit Kate nicht warm geworden, fand sie zum Teil unsympathisch und auch zickig und verbohrt. Außerdem hat es mich doch etwas gestört, dass sie aus meiner Sicht immer als die arme, kleine, hilflose Frau dargestellt wurde, die mit Selbstzweifeln zu kämpfen hatte und ihr der große, starke Mann häufig zur Hilfe eilte und ihr den Weg mehr oder weniger vorgab. Gerade als es um die gemeinsame Zukunft ging, hätte ich mir mehr Begeisterung und Engagement gewünscht.
Auch die anderen Figuren haben mir insgesamt gut gefallen, allen voran Luce. Ich finde sie hat für Unterhaltung gesorgt, war locker und selbstbewusst. Bei den anderen Promis fand ich es ein bisschen schade, dass sie allen Kate‘s Vorurteilen entsprochen haben. Hier hätte ich mir zumindest eine positive Entwicklung gewünscht. Und Javier fand ich voll süß. Sehr gut fand ich, dass man auch in diesem Roman wieder Figuren aus anderen Romanen von Melissa Foster wiedertrifft.

Hier hätte ich mir einfach mehr Spannung gewünscht. So war es mir persönlich streckenweise etwas zu langweilig und leider auch langatmig. Dafür gibt es aber auch sehr schöne und romantische Szenen und das Ende fand ich dann wieder überaus gelungen. Wirklich schön!
Aber wie liest sich das Buch nun?
Es sind 33 längere Kapitel, die in der 3. Person Singular im Präteritum im personalen Erzählstil abwechselnd aus Kate‘s und aus Sage‘s Sicht geschrieben sind. Ich mag das sehr, weil man die Figuren in ihrem Denken und Handeln immer prima nachvollziehen kann.
Der Schreibstil war wieder wunderbar. Alles liest sich locker und flüssig. Die Dialoge sind authentisch und passen zum Genre. Die Beschreibungen der Settings und die atmosphärischen Beschreibungen sind sehr gelungen, so dass man sich alles wirklich gut vorstellen konnte. Ganz besonders gelungen fand ich aber die Darstellung der emotionalen Ebene, die innere Zerrissenheit, die Unsicherheit, ob man vertrauen kann und auch die Entwicklung der Gefühle.
Mein Fazit nach 402 Seiten:
„Im Dschungel der Liebe“ zeigt wie wichtig es ist, nicht in Schubladen zu denken und Menschen vorzuverurteilen. Immerhin könnte man dadurch seine große Liebe verpassen. Jeder Mensch hat es verdient, dass man ihm unvoreingenommen begegnet.
Wer einen sehr harmonischen Liebesroman sucht, der im Dschungel von Belize spielt und die Themen „Vorurteile“ und „Vertrauen@ verarbeitet, der dürfte mit diesem Roman gut beraten sein.
Von mir erhält dieses Buch eine Kaufempfehlung (4/5 Sternen), weil Sage eine tolle Hauptfigur ist, d.h. weil er eine gelungene Entwicklung durchmacht und authentisch und sympathisch ist. Das Setting Belize ist einfach mal etwas anderes und superschön beschrieben und der Schreibstil ist wieder wundervoll. Ein halbes Sternchen ziehe ich ab für die Figur Kate, d.h. für ihr nicht immer nachvollziehbares Verhalten und für ihre, wie ich finde, zu geringe Entwicklung. Ein weiteres halbes Sternchen ziehe ich für die Handlung ab. Mir persönlich war es einfach zu harmonisch. Da hätte ich mir mehr Konflikte und damit auch etwas mehr Spannung gewünscht.
Insgesamt ist es aber ein gelungener Roman, den ich nur weiterempfehlen kann.

More tattoos and another luscious man; yes, I think Sage Remington is even hotter than his brother Dex!
Stroke of Love is a perfect contemporary romance in which Melissa Foster is able to endear us to her two protagonists, Kate and Sage, but she also creates secondary characters who the reader loves and loathes in equal measure.
Melissa Foster's novel is set in the beautiful surroundings of Belize. Although Stroke of Love is primarily a character driven story, the author uses the colours of the jungle and the sounds of nature to enhance her writing.
Sage and Kate are both passionate individuals, Sage about his art and family, Kate about her work and helping the individuals in the community of Punta Palacia. Kate sees Sage volunteering, initially only recognizing his 'celebrity' status, until he convinces her he is in Belize to break free of the constraints of his life in New York, explore his art and discover himself.
Once they realize their common goals Sage and Kate begin a tentative friendship which quickly erupts into an intense romance; Melissa Foster compliments this with fiery sex scenes.
Stroke of Love develops primarily as a romance with a humanitarian side-plot. I enjoyed how Melissa Foster used the opportunity to re-introduce members of the Remington family and I now cannot wait to read Flames of Love.

I zipped through this book pretty quickly because it was that engaging. I loved the exotic location and the premise of the book. Kate is such a strong heroine; she is selfless, dedicated, independent and driven. And Sage...well, how can I not fall in love with a man who is so goodhearted, endearing and thoughtful? He is on a quest to change Kate's perception of him and in doing so, falls in love with her. Every gesture he makes, every word he speaks, is so full of meaning and emotion. I loved reading about this couple and how they make each other better. It was a fantastic read! And of course, I downloaded all of the other available Remington books right after I finished!

Ich bedanke mich recht herzlich bei den Verantwortlichen für das mir zur Verfügung gestellte Rezensionsexemplar von "Im Dschungel der Liebe: Sage Remington" (Die Remingtons 2) von Melissa Foster. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass meine Meinung dadurch nicht beeinflusst wird. Gespannt und erwartungsvoll startete ich mit dem Lesen, nachdem mir das letzte Werk von Melissa nicht ganz überzeugen konnte. Auf ein Wiedersehen mit den Remington freute ich mich aber.
Die Geschichte dreht sich, wie der Name bereits sagt, um den Protagonisten und Künstler Sage Remington, der vierzehn Tage lang im Entwicklungsland Belize bei einem Freiwilligenprogramm mitwirkt, welches für bessere Bildung und medizinische Versorgung der dort ansässigen Personen sorgen soll. Ein sehr vorbildliches Vorhaben! :) So entflieht er auch dem beton- und abgasbelasteten New York. Hier im Dschungel gefällt es ihm eindeutig besser, aber nicht nur der Urwald tut es ihm an, sondern auch Kate Paletto, als die beiden sich das erste mal begegnen. Doch hat er überhaupt Chancen bei Jemandem wie ihr, die den "Reichen und Schönen" nicht so wirklich etwas abgewinnen kann?
Hier wird aus beiden Sichtweisen berichtet, was mir gut gefällt. Ich werde so mit beiden Protagonisten warm und kann ihre Gedankengänge und Unsicherheiten verstehen. Das Leben hat sie beide bereits geprägt. Sage ist trotz seines Künstlerstatus auf dem Teppich geblieben, er ist wirklich ein bodenständiger Typ Mann. Sicher ist dabei auch ein Stück weit seine Familie mitverantwortlich. Mit den Schülern in Belize geht er super liebevoll, einfühlsam und motiviert um und Kate trägt er wirklich auf Händen. Ein Mann, wie er – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes – im Buche steht :P Die ein oder andere Unsicherheit seinerseits hätte ich ihm aber gerne ausgetrieben :P Die Figur Kate steht kurz vor ihrer Rückkehr nach Hause und ist bereits zwei Jahre in Belize. Die Zeit hat sie definitiv geprägt und zu einem noch organisierteren Menschen gemacht. Sie ist definitiv der "Listen-Typ", falls ihr versteht, was ich meine. Dinge ordentlich notieren und nach Erledigung durchstreichen und so. Ich kenne da noch so einen Kandidaten in meinem persönlichen Umfeld, ich bin da eher das Gegenteil und total "frei heraus" :D Deswegen kann ich mich nicht zu hundert Prozent mit ihr identifizieren, aber es ist trotzdem interessant in so eine kontrollierte, geordnete Seele zu blicken. Kate hat ihr Herz aber am rechten Fleck und ich gewinne sie im Laufe der Geschichte definitiv lieb!
Auch der ein oder andere Nebencharakter hinterlässt bei mir einen bleibenden Eindruck und bereichert die Geschichte.
Ein Schwerpunkt setzt Melissa Foster auf die gemeinnützige Arbeit, über die der Leser sehr viel erfährt. Für mich ist das Tun und Handeln hier sehr interessant und erstrebenswert, jedoch nichts für mich persönlich. Ich könnte nicht so lange ins Ausland, da hätte ich viel zu viel Bammel und Heimweh :D Umso schöner ist es, dass ich nun gedanklich in den Dschungel reise und die Geschehnisse dort ohne große Entscheidungen und Verluste mitverfolge, hihi.
Das Setting ist hier sehr ansprechend und die Sprache der Autorin sehr bildgewaltig. So stelle ich mir vieles vor meinem inneren Auge vor, das ist schön, schalte ich doch vom tristen Corona-Alltag in NRW ab. Allerdings ist hier auch nicht alles nur Zuckerschlecken. Der Leser wird auch mit dem ein oder anderen Problem konfrontiert, was die Organisation zu bewältigen hat. Das ist schon irgendwie mitreißend.
Mein Kritikpunkt ist hierbei, dass sich die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Kate und Sage etwas schnell entwickelt und ich manchmal nicht genug Freiraum zum Denken und Fühlen bekomme, da mir Frau Foster doch vieles vorweg nimmt. An manchen Stellen plätschert mir die Geschichte auch ein wenig zu sehr dahin.
Größtenteils wurde ich hier aber super unterhalten und spürte auch den Funken zwischen den Charakteren. Das Buch beinhaltet auch explizite, sinnliche Szenen, die unter die Haut gehen und mich nicht kalt lassen. Sie vervollständigen die Liebesbeziehung der beiden Figuren.

Die Geschichte dreht sich, wie der Name bereits sagt, um den Protagonisten und Künstler Sage Remington, der vierzehn Tage lang im Entwicklungsland Belize bei einem Freiwilligenprogramm mitwirkt, welches für bessere Bildung und medizinische Versorgung der dort ansässigen Personen sorgen soll. Ein sehr vorbildliches Vorhaben! :) So entflieht er auch dem beton- und abgasbelasteten New York. Hier im Dschungel gefällt es ihm eindeutig besser, aber nicht nur der Urwald tut es ihm an, sondern auch Kate Paletto, als die beiden sich das erste mal begegnen. Doch hat er überhaupt Chancen bei Jemandem wie ihr, die den "Reichen und Schönen" nicht so wirklich etwas abgewinnen kann?
Hier wird aus beiden Sichtweisen berichtet, was mir gut gefällt. Ich werde so mit beiden Protagonisten warm und kann ihre Gedankengänge und Unsicherheiten verstehen. Das Leben hat sie beide bereits geprägt. Sage ist trotz seines Künstlerstatus auf dem Teppich geblieben, er ist wirklich ein bodenständiger Typ Mann. Sicher ist dabei auch ein Stück weit seine Familie mitverantwortlich. Mit den Schülern in Belize geht er super liebevoll, einfühlsam und motiviert um und Kate trägt er wirklich auf Händen. Ein Mann, wie er – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes – im Buche steht :P Die ein oder andere Unsicherheit seinerseits hätte ich ihm aber gerne ausgetrieben :P Die Figur Kate steht kurz vor ihrer Rückkehr nach Hause und ist bereits zwei Jahre in Belize. Die Zeit hat sie definitiv geprägt und zu einem noch organisierteren Menschen gemacht. Sie ist definitiv der "Listen-Typ", falls ihr versteht, was ich meine. Dinge ordentlich notieren und nach Erledigung durchstreichen und so. Ich kenne da noch so einen Kandidaten in meinem persönlichen Umfeld, ich bin da eher das Gegenteil und total "frei heraus" :D Deswegen kann ich mich nicht zu hundert Prozent mit ihr identifizieren, aber es ist trotzdem interessant in so eine kontrollierte, geordnete Seele zu blicken. Kate hat ihr Herz aber am rechten Fleck und ich gewinne sie im Laufe der Geschichte definitiv lieb!
Auch der ein oder andere Nebencharakter hinterlässt bei mir einen bleibenden Eindruck und bereichert die Geschichte.
Ein Schwerpunkt setzt Melissa Foster auf die gemeinnützige Arbeit, über die der Leser sehr viel erfährt. Für mich ist das Tun und Handeln hier sehr interessant und erstrebenswert, jedoch nichts für mich persönlich. Ich könnte nicht so lange ins Ausland, da hätte ich viel zu viel Bammel und Heimweh :D Umso schöner ist es, dass ich nun gedanklich in den Dschungel reise und die Geschehnisse dort ohne große Entscheidungen und Verluste mitverfolge, hihi.
Das Setting ist hier sehr ansprechend und die Sprache der Autorin sehr bildgewaltig. So stelle ich mir vieles vor meinem inneren Auge vor, das ist schön, schalte ich doch vom tristen Corona-Alltag in NRW ab. Allerdings ist hier auch nicht alles nur Zuckerschlecken. Der Leser wird auch mit dem ein oder anderen Problem konfrontiert, was die Organisation zu bewältigen hat. Das ist schon irgendwie mitreißend.
Mein Kritikpunkt ist hierbei, dass sich die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Kate und Sage etwas schnell entwickelt und ich manchmal nicht genug Freiraum zum Denken und Fühlen bekomme, da mir Frau Foster doch vieles vorweg nimmt. An manchen Stellen plätschert mir die Geschichte auch ein wenig zu sehr dahin.

"Im Dschungel der Liebe : Sage Remmington ( Die Remmingtons 2 )" von Melissa Foster
Sage Remington, ein bekannter Maler und Bildhauer ist für zwei Wochen nach Belize gereist, um dort im Dschungel, tatkräftig das Hilfsprogramm der "Artist for International Aid zu unterstützen.
Kate die seit 2 Jahren für das Projekt in Belize lebt, hat die Nase voll von den ganzen Prominenten, die ihre Organisation nutzen um in der Presse gut wegzukommen.
Aber warum fühlt sie sich dann so zu Sage hingezogen, er ist doch einer der Personen von denen sie eigentlich genug hat.
Melissa Foster hat mit "Im Dschungel der Liebe" den 2. Band der Remmingtons an den Start gebracht.
Tatsächlich sind die Bücher unabhängig von einander zu lesen, aber da mir "Spiel der Liebe" Band 1der Remmingtons schon gut gefallen hat, würde ich euch das Buch hier gern ans Herz legen.
Die Autorin hat einen flüssigen und angenehmen Schreibstil, sie hat mir mit ihren Worten den Dschungel von Belize förmlich als Bild vor mein inneres Auge gemalt.
Sage ist ein rücksichtsvoller und bodenständiger Protagonist, der einem gleich sympathisch ist.
Und auch Kate, die wahrscheinlich die ein oder andere schwierigere bis unmögliche Erfahrung mit den Promis hat, ist freundlich, aufgeräumt und irgendwie niedlich.
Es hat Spass gemacht die beiden vom ersten Kennenlernen an zu begleiten und ich musste das ein oder andere Mal schon sehr über die Beiden schmunzeln.
Die Story hat mich schnell gepackt und ich bin gern mit Sage und Kate im Dschungel gewesen, ein tolles Lesevergnügen das mich aus dem Alltag entführen konnte und echt Spass gemacht hat.

Stroke of Love is the second book in The Remingtons series (Love in Bloom Book #11) by Melissa Foster. The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.

In „Im Dschungel der Liebe: Sage Remington (Die Remingtons 2)“ geht es nun um, die Geschichte von Kate und Sage. Sie ist für die Hilfsorganisation »Artists for International Aid« tätig als Projektleiterin. Immer wieder muss sie sich mit Promis rumärgern, die ihren Ruf aufmotzen wollen und ist misstrauisch geworden was Freiwillige angeht. Als sie Sage kennen lernt löst dieser Gefühle in ihr aus, die sie eigentlich nicht aufwecken wollte….
Kann Sage ihr zeigen, dass er anders ist ?
Kate arbeitet für die Hilfsorganisation »Artists for International Aid« in Belize wo sie immer wieder andere freiwillige Helfer hat. Sie liebt das Land und kann den sogenannten Helfern nicht mehr zu 100 % trauen, weil die meisten nur für ihren Ruf kommen.
Sage ist wohlhabend und ein Maler und Bildhauer. Er will seinen Alltag in New York entfliehen und will genau bei dem Hilfsprojekt, bei dem auch Kate ist, helfen.
Der Schreibstil ist angenehm flüssig und wird im Wechsel aus der Perspektive von Sage und Kate erzählt. Der Leser kann die beiden so noch näher kennen lernen und ihre Gedanken und Gefühle erfahren während der Handlung. Die Nebenfiguren sind ebenso authentisch und gestalten die Geschichte mit. Die Kulisse um Belize fand ich sehr schön beschrieben und man kann sich die Organisation und alles sehr gut vorstellen.
Die Spannung und Handlung haben mich mit jeder Seite mehr in die Geschichte von Kate und Sage gezogen. Er ist ein Bekannter Maler und Bildhauer und will endlich einmal raus aus der Großstadt. Dazu kommt es das er von der Organisation „Artists for International Aid“ in Belize erfährt und dort selbst einen Freiwilligeneinsatz abhalten will. Dort trifft er auf Kate, die schon vieles dort erlebt hat, als Projektleiterin mit einigen Promi Helfern und deswegen skeptisch ist, wenn neue Helfer kommen. Auch Sage scheint für sie zuerst ein Mann zu sein der durch seine Bekanntheit erwähnt werden will. Doch je mehr sie ihn beim Projekt helfen sieht und beide sich annähern spürt sie, das hinter diesem Mann mehr liegt als ein vermögender Mann der Aufmerksamkeit will. Kann es für die aufkeimenden Gefühle eine Chance geben für beide? Schon der wieder zieht mich die Autorin in ihren Roman hinein und ich konnte mich kaum bremsen mit dem Lesen. Beide Protagonisten sind mit ans Herz gewachsen und ich freue mich schon bald weiter lesen zu können.
Das Cover sieht einfach toll aus und ich finde, jedes hat eine besondere Ausstrahlung.
FAZIT :

Would you consider the audio edition of Stroke of Love to be better than the print version?
Having not read the book, yet, I can't answer that question. I can tell you however that I loved this edition. It had me remembering my own volunteer experience.
What other book might you compare Stroke of Love to and why?
Unless I find a book that has characters exactly like Sage and Kate, in the same type of situation, there's no way that I can compare. I can tell you that if you've ever had a chance to enrich your life, by going to another country to help others, than you will love Sage and Kate. Granted it's not the same as your own experience but it will bring back memories for you - I know it did for me. It also had me wishing that I could have the chance to go back again and do some more good for the people I had the chance to meet.
What about B.J. Harrison’s performance did you like?
Like is not strong enough. I loved how Mr. Harrison handled this book. We get accents as we get to know some of the people that Kate works with. This was one of the reasons that I started to reminisce about the time I spent down in Brazil. He also has me looking forward to more of his work and in having the time to listen to this book again.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
First, I don't think that I could say there was just one moment that moved me. And other than the volunteer experience, I don't want to say more so that other readers have a chance to experience the book for themselves.
Any additional comments?
Ms. Foster and Mr. Harrison make a perfect couple. She has the right words and he has the right voice that brings all of them to life. I also just added another four books to my wish list so that I don't miss one of the Remingtons' stories. Ms. Foster writes stories about people that you could easily be friends with. Mr. Harrison has a very soothing tone of voice that makes it a pleasure to listen to what he's reading. And having the humanitarian aspect is just an added bonus.
When I get too stressed or if I have a lot to do out in the yard, Ms. Foster's books are the perfect thing to take the stress down to a managable level and the yard work more tolerable. The bad thing is that as I add more of their books into my library the harder it is to come inside. And it becomes very difficult to turn it off when I'm at work. And now that my review is done I'm off to listen to my next Foster book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.
Having not read the book, yet, I can't answer that question. I can tell you however that I loved this edition. It had me remembering my own volunteer experience.
What other book might you compare Stroke of Love to and why?
Unless I find a book that has characters exactly like Sage and Kate, in the same type of situation, there's no way that I can compare. I can tell you that if you've ever had a chance to enrich your life, by going to another country to help others, than you will love Sage and Kate. Granted it's not the same as your own experience but it will bring back memories for you - I know it did for me. It also had me wishing that I could have the chance to go back again and do some more good for the people I had the chance to meet.
What about B.J. Harrison’s performance did you like?
Like is not strong enough. I loved how Mr. Harrison handled this book. We get accents as we get to know some of the people that Kate works with. This was one of the reasons that I started to reminisce about the time I spent down in Brazil. He also has me looking forward to more of his work and in having the time to listen to this book again.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
First, I don't think that I could say there was just one moment that moved me. And other than the volunteer experience, I don't want to say more so that other readers have a chance to experience the book for themselves.
Any additional comments?
Ms. Foster and Mr. Harrison make a perfect couple. She has the right words and he has the right voice that brings all of them to life. I also just added another four books to my wish list so that I don't miss one of the Remingtons' stories. Ms. Foster writes stories about people that you could easily be friends with. Mr. Harrison has a very soothing tone of voice that makes it a pleasure to listen to what he's reading. And having the humanitarian aspect is just an added bonus.
When I get too stressed or if I have a lot to do out in the yard, Ms. Foster's books are the perfect thing to take the stress down to a managable level and the yard work more tolerable. The bad thing is that as I add more of their books into my library the harder it is to come inside. And it becomes very difficult to turn it off when I'm at work. And now that my review is done I'm off to listen to my next Foster book.

Diverse and realistic characters fill the pages of this steamy New York based family saga of attraction at first sight novels. While each novel can be read alone, they do run chronologically with some references to prior novels and couples. While interesting, these novels are long with undertones of serious topics that promote social awareness.

„Im Dschungel der Liebe“ ist der zweite Teil der Remingtons-Reihe von Melissa Foster, die jeweils immer einen Remington Bruder oder Schwester im Fokus hat und sich daher auch unabhängig voneinander lesen lassen. Im Fokus dieses Teils steht Sage Remington. Sage ist ein erfolgreicher, sexy Künstler, der in New York lebt und merkt, dass er zwar alles zu haben scheint, ihm aber dennoch etwas im Leben fehlt. Um sich zu erden und der Gesellschaft etwas zurückzugeben entschließt er sich ein Hilfsprojekt in Belize zu unterstützen. Dort lernt er die attraktive Kate kennen…
Genau wie beim ersten Band, wurde ich auch vom zweiten Teil nicht enttäuscht. Das Setting und die Not in Belize sind wunderschön und anschaulich beschrieben, ohne zu langweilen. Auch die Emotionen der Protagonisten sind sehr schön dargestellt und das ein oder andere Zitat habe ich mir markiert. Durch einen Perspektivenwechsel zwischen den beiden Protagonisten in den Kapiteln, kann man als Leser beiden in die Köpfe gucken, was mir sehr gut gefallen hat.
Der Spannungsbogen baut sich in der ersten Hälfte des Buches sehr schnell auf und flacht in der zweiten etwas ab. Während zu Beginn viele Probleme bewältigt werden müssen und man als Leser mit den Protagonisten fiebert, fokussiert sich die zweite Hälfte eher um die Festigung der Beziehung und den Umgang mit ihren Ängsten.
Insbesondere Sage war mir dabei etwas zu glatt und zu perfekt. Sein einziges Ansinnen im Leben scheint einfach nur noch Kate zu sein und seine einzige Angst ist Kate zu verlieren… nicht mal wirkliche Fehler hat der Kerl. Er sagt und tut immer das Richtige. Auch eine kleine Marotte konnte dieses Bild bei mir nicht aufbrechen.
Kate hingegen fand ich authentischer und auch interessanter. Sie hat definitiv ein Vertrauens- und Kontrollproblem, aber jeder hat ja seine Macken. Man merkt bei ihr über das Buch hinweg eine starke Entwicklung, die ich bei Sage etwas vermisst habe.
Alles in allem ist das Buch ein gelungener zweiter Band der Remington Reihe. Wer bereits den ersten Teil oder andere Romane von Melissa Foster gelesen hat, wir auch dieses Buch mögen.

Sage Remington braucht dringend eine Veränderung. Der erfolgreiche New Yorker Künstler möchte schon lange etwas an die Menschen zurückgeben, die dringend Hilfe brauchen und so erscheint ein Freiwilligeneinsatz für die Hilfsorganisation „Artists for International Aid“, genau das Richtige zu sein.
Natürlich könnte er einfach „nur“ etwas spenden, doch Sage möchte neue Eindrücke sammeln, die Menschen kennenlernen, die Leere füllen, die sich in ihm aufgebaut hat und die hoffentlich neugewonnene Kreativität für neue Bilder nutzen.
Womit Sage gar nicht gerechnet hat, ist Kate, die Mitarbeiterin der Organisation, die sein Herz im Sturm erobert.
Kate hat jedoch im Laufe der Zeit genug „Promis“ erlebt, die Gutes tun wollen und dann doch nur an sich denken!
Ob es Sage gelingt, sie vom Gegenteil zu überzeugen?
Das müsst ihr natürlich selbst lesen…
Meine Meinung: Nachdem ich mit Teil 1 der Remingtons, zumindest zu Beginn, meine Schwierigkeiten hatte, hat Teil 2 eingeschlagen, wie eine Bombe! Ich habe die Geschichte von Sage und Kate von Anfang an geliebt. Die tolle Kulisse mit den detailreichen Beschreibungen, verzaubert selbst den größten Stubenhocker. Ich mochte beide Protagonisten sehr, besonders da sie das absolute Gegenstück zu den unausstehlichen „Möchtegern Promis “ waren. Hier zeigt sich die tolle Charakterausarbeitung von Melissa Foster.
Sage und Kate haben mich oft an Hauptfiguren eines anderen Romans der Autorin erinnert, nämlich an Tempest und Nash. Ich weiß nicht, ob es an Sages Beruf oder an dem liebevollen Umgang mit den Kindern lag. Wer also „Melodie der Liebe“ gelesen hat, wird auch von dieser Geschichte restlos begeistert sein.
Besonders gut gefallen hat mir, neben der, wie immer, wundervollen Liebesgeschichte und dem Familienzusammenhalt, dass auch die wichtige und bewundernswerte Arbeit der Hilfsorganisation im Vordergrund steht.
Wiedermal die volle Punktzahl! Ich kann den neuen Teil der Reihe kaum erwarten.

One of my favorite authors, Melissa Foster weaves a familial series around the Remington family that will draw you in and not let go. Five sons and one daughter are the backdrop for this series and each book gets impossibly better and better.
Sage Remington is a New York artist who has built a reputation that demands insane amounts of money and yet, he isn't happy. Determined to find passion in life again he volunteers to spend two weeks in Belize helping Artists for International Aid with their efforts. Sage has no misconception about the conditions he is going in to. What he didn't expect to find there was a spunky director with an attitude against all artists.
Kate Paletto has been in the south of Belize for almost two years and her frustration over not accomplishing the hopes and dreams of the people there to get a well in the small city is pushing her to her limits. She is tired of the spoiled, lazy, rich artists her head director keeps sending there to repair their reputations and not getting the help they really need. When the newest group of volunteers arrive Kate isn't expecting any different and has already decided they are all the same. Yet, she can't seem to take her eyes off the tall, muscular man with the incredible smile.
While Kate's insecurities twist her upside down as her heart is being pulled to Sage she will have to learn to trust that all artists are not the same. And Sage, who has known he wanted more out of life than just producing art and collecting money, will finally find something he is passionate about, in fact, he will find a woman that drives his passion for life and her through the stratosphere.

First and foremost with all of the Remingtons. Once they find love they love with all they have. Sage Remington, who is an artist who lives in NYC, was looking for a cause that was more then just to write a check as his donation. He hears about a non-profit group called AIA. Artists for International Aid. As he wants to make a difference he decides to donate his time AND his talent. With this he ends up in Punta Palacia, Belize.
Meet Kate Paletto. Kate is in charge of the volunteers that come to Belize with AIA and she lets all the volunteers what she expects from them. Which come to find out is not much. Most of the volunteers are actors and musicians who are only doing this for he publicity. Quite frankly she is tired of dealing with their childish, whining and complaining behavior. She also vows she will never “fall for” one of the volunteers since they are only there for a short time.
Usually women jump at the chance to be on Sage’s arm. Not Kate. She has walls around her heart and she is not willing to knock down those walls for anyone. Brick by brick Sage does just that. She finds that he is not one of those artists that care about his image and only his image. Once she accepts Sage for Sage she finds that she loves the way he engages the children to paint a mural on their school. She loves the fact that he makes things happen through hard work and sweat. She finally falls in love with Sage!
As for the narration. I really like BJ Harrison. I feel he reads with emotion and really touches the person listening to him tell the story. I think he is a good match for Melissa’s books!

Das Cover ist einfach so traumhaft schön und schreit etwas nach Urlaub.
Der Schreibstil ist wieder einmal toll, locker leicht und gut zu lesen.
Melissa Foster schreibt voller Romantik und Emotionen, sodass das Leserherz einfach aufgeht.
Das Buch hat mich nicht unbedingt enttäuscht aber es konnte mich auch nicht so sehr begeistern wie die anderen Bücher von Melissa Foster die ich gelesen habe.
Die Umgebung war wundervoll beschrieben, man hat sich selber in den Dschungel versetzt gefühlt und konnte die Hitze regelrecht auf der Haut spüren.
Sage ist ein wundervoller Protagonist, er ist stark, selbstsicher, liebenswert und so aufmerksam.
Ein richtig toller männlicher Part in der Geschichte, der einen einfach zum schwärmen animiert.
Kate konnte mich nicht so sehr begeistern, sie ist voller Vorurteile und wirft mit denen auch um sich. Oder beschuldigt dann Sage wieder xy getan zu haben nur für Publicity obwohl er ihr durchgehend beweist das es ihm wirklich am Herzen liegt.
Mit ihr konnte ich einfach nicht ganz warm werden und sie blieb auch etwas flach für mich bis zum Schluss.
Gegen Ende war mir das auch ein wenig zu langatmig, vielleicht lag es auch daran das ich mich mit Kate nicht komplett anfreunden konnte.
Der Familienaspekt war wieder so schön und einfach zum Wohlfühlen.
Ich freue mich schon sehr mehr von Sages Familie zu erfahren.

I loved this book! Reading always relaxes me, but BJ’s voice in your ear is so relaxing to me. He’s got the softest relaxing voice.
Sage, is an artist that his soul is lost. He decides to go to Belize to volunteer and help his restless soul, and never expected to find Kate.
Kate is over the spoiled celebrities that come to make a name for there selfs, but never actually do any work. Just poses.
They have that connection that they both are trying to ignor, but the more late night talks... working together and him taking her beliefs and what she works so hard for, she is starting to let her feeling out. Sage not only helps , but he adores the kids. He even calls Kurt his twitter brother so he can talk to him about his dream of being a writer.
Kate and Sage live worlds apart, but will they find away to make all there dreams come true! Oh come on you gotta read it now. There is so much they need to accomplish in 2 weeks!

Having been to Belize, I found revisiting the island in a book a nice change of pace. And the human interest aspect of the story is the best.
It was wonderful to see how much of a role the children played in this book. I love Javier and his vulnerability. Without saying it, he was afraid he wouldn't be allowed to paint because he was having trouble with his lessons. I like that Sage asked him if he asked for help and if he tried to figure it out, really tried.
I also enjoyed the scene when Sage goes with Kate to use the computer so he can skype his mom. I love that he pulls her in front of the screen and tells her to say hi. Kate is a planner, but she didn't have time to figure out what to wear or say or anything. She was outside of her comfort zone.
I did not laugh or cry, but I was able to put myself in the middle of the jungle in Belize. There were moments that I chuckled over something that happened in the book and there were moments that made me wonder what it would be like to be in this family.

When I listen to the audible version of Stroke of Love I find myself remembering why I love this series so much. The narrator is wonderful. He is able to portray the feelings, emotions, and reactions of the characters perfectly. BJ Harrison makes each character come to life.
I immediately fell for Sage, although he is a popular and successful artist, he is so down to earth and real. He knows what he wants to do and isn’t doing it to make him more popular or to make him more money; he does it to make the world better or just because he wants to. The way he eases into Kate’s life and world, not letting Kate’s tough exterior keep him away or detour him from making a difference in the town or with the kids he is working for.
I am sure I say this about Melissa Foster’s entire series, but it is amazing. They are each so perfectly written and with so much love and character I cannot stop reading. Each can be read as a stand-alone, but are so much more enjoyable as a series.
I immediately fell for Sage, although he is a popular and successful artist, he is so down to earth and real. He knows what he wants to do and isn’t doing it to make him more popular or to make him more money; he does it to make the world better or just because he wants to. This one was not my favorite, but I still really enjoyed the story. It had all the great things I expect from a Melissa Foster book, but I was just not feeling the heroine. She just rubbed me the wrong way.
Kate runs a volunteer program in Belize for Artists. Mostly it is for celebrities that need to get good PR to fix their careers. She hates it, and hates dealing with the celebrities.
Sage is a well known artist that works with paints, clays, and anything else he can get his hands on to create master pieces. He does not need any good PR, he hates dealing with PR, and he really wants to help.
After being there for a few days Sage has found his other life calling, besides painting, and needs help from Kate and their growing relationship that burns hot. And then cold, then hot again, since Kate can't seem to make up her mind.
It was a really good book, but I was just not connected to Kate at all, other than that, I really did enjoy the story and meeting new characters and how the Remingtons all come together.

In my continued quest to listen to all of Melissa’s books, after reading them in print…this one did not disappoint! B.J. Harrison is an awesome narrator! Kate and Sage are like kindred spirits. Driven to help and focused on using their power for the good of others. They quickly seek out the strength that each of them can provide each other.
Sage is an artist who is restless in New York, and seeking out more meaning in his life. Kate is a volunteer coordinator in Belize for a group called Artists for International Aid. She is tired of the string of self-centered celebrities that come through Belize via AIA. Sage is definitely the exception, not the rule.
These two seem to be meant for each other. What can they accomplish if they collaborate! I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves Melissa Foster or even to anyone looking for a great story and new author to follow!
