Kit Garland made himself a promise a long time nothing serious, no marriage, no kids.
He didn’t factor in a drunken night with his best friend, resulting in his son, and he definitely didn’t expect to meet a stranded American on a snowy country lane who would turn his whole life upside down.
When Ollie’s mum reveals a secret that blows her world apart, Ollie acts on impulse, boarding a flight to England with little more than a carry-on bag and her passport. She’s on a mission to find out who she really is, but a motoring mishap puts her in the path of a gorgeous mechanic who seems determined to help.
Kit knows Ollie isn’t staying, so what’s the harm in getting close while he helps her complete her mission?
The problem is, the closer they get, the harder saying goodbye seems, and when Ollie’s truth ties her to Kit in ways he never expected, saying goodbye becomes impossible.
I’m really enjoying this series of five novellas about the Garland Brothers. This third instalment is about single Dad Kit Garland, who has a son with his best friend since childhood, and honorary Garland family member Ash. Kit is not looking for a serious relationship, but then he stops to help stranded American Ollie during a snow storm. Ollie acted on impulse when she left America with just her passport and a carry on bag and flew to England. She had just found out a secret which changed her life from her Mum and is now looking to find out who she really is. Completely unprepared for the English winter weather she’s rescued by a very handsome mechanic who is determined to help her.
With the knowledge that Ollie will be going back to America, Kit doesn’t see the harm in getting closer to her. However, as their relationship develops it gets harder for either of them to imagine saying goodbye. When Ollie finally discovers the truth about her identity, a shocking revelation from Kit’s Mum shocks the whole family. Once again this is an enjoyable and engaging story with wonderful characters. The small town setting comes to life and the storyline has plenty of romance, a bit of drama, plus a touch of mystery, all of which kept me hooked. The chemistry between Kit and Ollie sizzles off the page, leading to some spicy but sweet scenes. I recommend this lovely romance with a festive feel to it. I’m enjoying spending Christmas with the Garland family!
Loving this series. Wish I knew this family in real life. The five Garland brothers each have a book this is the 3rd in the series. Kit is the youngest brother, he was the first to have a child. He has a son called Tommy who he had with his best friend Aisling one drunken night. Neither of them wish to be together but they remain best friends and bring up Tommy together. Kit doesn't ever want a long term relationship he is quite happy with one night stands. On a wintery night he is driving his truck when he comes across a crashed car and rescues the driver Ollie. Things will never be the same again. The characters in these books are so well written that you feel as though you know everything about them even though these are short stories nothing is missed.
This is the third book in the Garland Brothers series and I absolutely loved it!
The story follows Kit who is the youngest brother, in the first book you find out he has become a father due to one accidental night with his best friend Ash. The story focuses on a few years later on and he and Ash have a comfortable relationship and solid parenting of their little boy.
Kit meets Ollie and a romance blooms. I did find some of the plot a bit too convenient - loose ends being tied up neatly etc - but again, that's what I expected from this series so I wasn't disappointed and found it a nice, easy read. Looking forward to the last two books!!
The 3rd installment in this series follows Kit. We've already learnt a lot about this character from the previous 2 books and whilst assumptions were made in the first 2 about him already having his happy ever after, it appears to develop further in this book.
A plot twist towards the end, momentarily pauses the romantic nature, but not surprisingly it ends with the Garland family toast!
Jasper and Ruby are still my favourite couple, but I liked the way this book had an added twist.
Despite loving his brothers, his mum ,best friend and co parent Ash, Kit is determined never to settle down to a family life of his own. The pain and sense of loss after his father's early death has traumatised him. Then on a very snowy day he comes across Ollie, stranded and hurting due to a shocking revelation about her being adopted. As Christmas approaches these two work together to find the truth and each other.
The Garland family are a special bunch and each book just feels warm and fuzzy, the perfect books to read when you’re feeling under the weather with very little time for much else. Kit and Ollie’s story is light, fun, and flows well for a short story. It’s about time kit gets his happy ever after. I did see the twist coming at the end, but it took nothing from the story.
I absolutely loved this book as much as all the others cas lewis writes these books do magnificently love reading about the garland brothers and their romances this is another light hearted romance that’s uplifting and gets you in the Christmas spirit
Kit helps a woman who has broken down. Ollie has come over from America to look for someone. but she has nowhere to stay Kit offers her his spare bedroom. and there is an attraction between them. and he helps her in her search loved it looking forward to book 4
Single parent, especially single dads, are my kryptonite and Kit was no exception. I loved this novella from the first pages. These stories are the perfect holiday reads!
This is the third book in a series about the Garland's, love how the stories are based around Christmas with all the family spending time together celebrating. The diamatics of the brothers is brilliant each book telling the story of the individual brothers. Another great read highly recommend.
What a journey these two have been on! Kit has gone from only wanting casual to falling head over heels. He never wanted marriage and kids, scared that he'd die and leave a family behind just like his dad did. He already had a child and this just petrifies him. Ollie changes his mind on all that as he helps her with the reason she landed in the UK, in the middle of winter, with just a carry on, a broken rental car and nowhere to stay....
Just like the other books in the series this is a short but fun read and I love when all the Garland Brothers get together! The banter is so funny ❤️
