There’s an art form in communicating emotions and feelings to the reader through written word. The author not only provides us with clear and concise direction, he also provides templates. An easy read that better educated me on how to construct written word to follow my desired action.
This was a good read for anyone interested in copywriting. Very comprehensive coverage of the topic, with lots of examples.
It feels a little dated in places, particularly some of the references.
It also definitely orients itself towards the American market, but there’s still a lot of good general principles in this book, and I learned some new things about copywriting I didn’t know before.
In particular, he does a good job of tapping into customers and their motivations, and how to start there to then write your copy. It’s very clearly written with lots of examples.
Very practical book. It gives you the principles and insights that have worked with examples like: The structure or components of a copy. Types of Headlines. Types of Bullets Types of Offers The importance of a story and types of stories. And common mistakes.
Definitely will be re-reading some chapters when writing copy.
If you’ve ever listened to David’s unique podcasting voice, you’ won’t just read this book, you’ll HEAR it too. I am reading, listening to and digesting any and all information I can on copywriting and David has been a tremendous help on the journey. Warning: It would be silly to think this doesn’t deserve a reread or two. Gold inside.
Garbage. There are much better books out there about copywriting without all of the poor language, advice on clickbait headlines, and awkward name-dropping. Give this a pass.
I know very little about copywriting in general and I found this book to be an inspiration. I don't know how marketing experts would regard this book in general, but for a beginner or the amateur, this book is just fabulous.
