Tormented thoughts

I love the Lance Brady series so thought I’d take a look at the authors others books and I love them so far , this one is a collection of short horror stories perfect for when you just want a little read

I enjoyed these short stories. They were suspenseful , gruesome and bizarre. I would probably read more of this type.

This is a 3 book bundle. Kill Game is about a pizza delivery woman who is drugged as she delivers the pizza. She awakes to find she is tied to a chair with piano wire. She is sitting at a table with a dead black man on one side and a dead white woman on her other side. The kidnapper is dealer and they are playing poker. He carries on a conversation with all of them, even speaking for the dead. Melanie, the woman, has clearly been tortured. Does she have any possibility of surviving this game?
The Phone - a family with 2 children, older sister, younger brother are moving into a new home. They meet the neighbor. One night the daughter wakes to hear a landline phone ringing, but they don't have one. Another day she is in the bathroom and hears the phone in that room. She releases a panel and answers the phone that has no dial. Another young girl is on the other end. Through their conversations, they learn that they are separated by time. The other girl lives in the 1970's. The mother feels uncomfortable about their neighbor and does a computer search. He was the only survivor of the murders of 2 families in his house and in theirs. One night as the girls are talking across time, the girl from the 1970's starts screaming and the line goes dead. Then she hears her dad screaming. The murderer has come for them.
Day Care - a man's wife has left him. He took several days off work and now is looking for day care for his son so that he can return to work. He finds one that is on his way to work and convenient. It is located in a very large home and 2 older sisters are running the Day Care to help make ends meet. When he leaves work to pick up his son he is shocked to see police and ambulances every where. 2 kids are missing, the women were slaughtered, and his son apparently saw it all and is clearly traumatized. What could be weirder? Having the son kidnap his dad and take him to an old farm. What is up with the tubes of light?
