He wants a fake girlfriend even less than I want to be one. But here we are…
If I wasn’t one student loan payment away from being homeless, I would laugh myself inside out at the idea of pretending to be a billionaire’s squeaky-clean new love.
But to say I’m desperate would be an understatement.
So, here’s the deal—Connor Dashwood gets to rehabilitate his bad boy reputation, and I get a roof over my head plus a fat check to pay for grad school.
The downside?
Well, Connor Dashwood…
He’s the cocky and entirely too sexy jerk (seriously, those shoulders) who humiliated me in a viral video a few weeks ago.
And he seems determined to make my job as difficult as possible. Especially when we kiss for the cameras—and it feels way too real.
But all I have to do is survive the summer as his pretend girlfriend. Then I can walk away from Connor forever with enough cash to see me through to the end of my PhD.
Should be easy, right?
Yeah. I didn’t think so, either…
That Fake Feeling is a standalone, steamy, opposites attract, fake relationship rom-com, in the laugh-out-loud Dashwood Billionaire series. It features a sexy billionaire shedding his playboy ways, a sassy student teacher who’s way less innocent than everyone thought, a wise small-town aunt with a wild past, and a PR guy who’s never met a shirt he thought was too colorful.
Nicky Redford writes bladder-threateningly funny rom-coms with all the steam and all the feels.
She loves heroes who think they know what they want (they’re wrong, obviously), the feisty, independent, heroines who don’t take their crap, and the sparky banter that inevitably ensues.
Her idol is Nora Ephron, and if anyone tries to say When Harry Met Sally is not the greatest film ever made they’ll be treated to a very detailed explanation as to why they are wrong.
Nicky aims to bring you page-turning raunchy rom-coms that brighten your day, put a smile on your face, and make you need to sit on an ice pack.
Nicky does it again with a book that kept me awake and laughing like crazy in the middle of the night!!!
Connor and Rose are so much more than I expected. The fake dating? the dislike to lovers? Without a doubt a book that grabs you from the beginning. Well, we already knew how these two met in the previous book and let's say it was not in a good way, with the synopsis we see a little of what it is about, but I tell you that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Rose is a college student up to her neck in debt who agrees to be Connor's "fake girlfriend" because he has a public relations problem that affects the image of him and his educational learning toy company for children. Connor is a playboy, if we can put it that way, he just feels lost in life and balances it out with going out to clubs and so on, while Rose is a focused girl who just wants to be a teacher to help many people, couldn't they be more different? Well, yes, but they complemented each other so well that I couldn't help but fall in love with them. Their relationship grows little by little and so beautifully that when you least expect it, you have already finished the book.
A story full of laughs, super low drama as I like it, charming and funny main and secondary characters and super easy to read as a good romance should be.
Thanks to the author for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

Nicky lo hace de nuevo con un libro que me mantuvo despierta y riendo como loca en la mitad de la noche!!!
Connor y Rose son mucho más de lo que esperaba ¿el fake dating? ¿ese dislike to lovers?
Connor Dashwood needs to clean up his bad boy reputation. He founded Big Brain Toys while in college. But an educational toy company and a carouser don't go hand-in-hand. It may be his company but there's still the board of directors...
A major thing that no one knows about Connor is that he hates being the head of his toy company. He loves the company's products and how they can help children learn but he mostly just hates his job. His family is so proud of him that in his mind they've made it impossible for him to step down. He'd welcome the board firing him.
Rose Bellamore is the "lucky" candidate chosen by the obviously color blind PR man to clean up Connor's public image. The last time he saw her was when he landed on top of her after knocking her down into a bed of tomato plants.
Rose is enrolled in a master's program for special ed teachers. Even with working multiple jobs, her student loans and tuition are more than her current bank balance can comfortably handle. She's afraid she'll be unable to afford the second year of the program. Her heart is set on earning her master's degree and PhD from NYU.
Rose turned down the offer to be Connor's girlfriend, especially after she learned she'd be living with him. Somehow she'll continue to muddle on. Then her roommate, who inherited the 2 bedroom rent controlled apartment, announces she's engaged. Her fiancé will rent out his apartment and move into hers. She told Rose there's no rush, she has 2 weeks to move. This leaves her only one option...
Neither Rose or Connor wanted to be involved with this sham relationship. They soon realize that together they bring out the best in each other. They can change and accomplish goals that will enrich their lives. Too bad each thinks the love they have for the other is just one sided.
At the end of the book a bonus scene is available.
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
5⭐|4🌶|3🥵 I got an ARC copy of this book to write an honest review. I already knew after finishing the second book, that Connor wouldn't be what he looked like at the end of book two. I felt there was something wrong with this very sensitive guy. And yes, I was right. The party playboy Connor isn't the real Connor. No, I don't tell too much, that's something you will find out at the beginning of the book 😎 All his partying and the bad press lead to the point that the board members of his company want to kick him as the CEO, so he soon needs a fake girlfriend. Rose is the perfect girl for this job. Yes, JOB. That's what it is for her. Even though she can't stand with Connor, she also feels that there is a huge connection... But the first (second) meeting OMG, he's more or less naked, and she with clothes that showed what had gone wrong the whole day... 🙈 That leads to a special paragraph in HER contract for HIM 😁 The banter is, as always, very well written. And oh, yes, the spice is too 🤩 The characters are also perfectly created. And as always, there are so many very cute side characters, like Sandy, Connor's assistant. She is like a second mom to him. Or Aunt Jen, sister of Rose's late mother. Super funny and I love all the hashtags she uses in the messages she writes with Rose 😍 And this time we have 5x 🐿️
This series just keeps getting better and better, I loved Rose and Connors story so much! Nicky just knows how to write the perfect romcom! The banter between the characters was perfect and so funny (as always). The meet-cute has to be one of my favourite out of all of the books in the series so far, and throughout the book you learn that Rose is just very clumsy (the broken flip flop killed me🤣) especially in the extended epilogue scene! Which on another note was also amazing, it was great so see how much Connor had grown within himself & his art.
Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, especially when they whip the contracts out, and Rose coming with her own just made it so much better, showing such a strong minded and independent FMC!
I loved a lot of the side characters, but I think we can all agree that Aunt Jen was the main side character in this one🤩 the hashtags at the end of her text messages had me cry laughing 🤣🤣
If you love a good, funny and spicy fake dating romance, I deffo recommend this one!
I cannot wait for Walker & Emily’s story! I don’t read many Friend to lovers books, but January couldn’t come quick enough!🫠😫🤩
Congratulations Nicky you have smashed it once again! I can’t wait for the rest❤️
I received this book as an ARC, but I am voluntarily leaving a review 😀
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
That Fake Feeling is the story of Rose — a dedicated student and special ed teacher who has no time for relationships, and Connor — a playboy CEO of a toy company who lost his way in life. Lemme tell you, when I met Connor in the second book of the series, I had my doubts. I couldn’t believe that Nicky could ever manage to make me like this drunken disaster of a person. But I should have known, should have guessed that she’d find a way to make him so relatable to me that I ended up rooting for him the entire time!
As if that’s not enough, I could see parts of myself in Rose! I, too, used to be focused way too much on my job and studies, until I fell hard for a guy and almost stopped functioning for a while. I have a feeling that this story was somehow written for me ☺️☺️
Rose and Connor enter a contractual fake relationship with a goal to rehabilitate his reputation and refill her bank account. And we all know how that ends in romcoms (wink-wink). I’m not going to spoil anything, just know that the journey to getting there was as funny as it was beautiful.
I loved getting to know the Dashwoods better with each book. It was nice to see that even happy and in love, Max hadn’t changed his personality completely. And I can’t wait to read Walker’s story, I feel like it’s going to be an angsty one 😋
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I received the ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
Loved this book just as much as first book. Corner and Rose's story was beautiful. Loved the writing style. Lots of issues corner had to over come. Can't wait to read the next book in the series #kbsbloggingandreviews.

Cute story! I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this enemies to lovers story as much as I did! Redford's characters are described so well, I feel as if I really know them!!!
Connor's party boy lifestyle has drawn negative attention and he gets told that he might be booted off his company if he doesn't straighten himself up. His PR person recommends getting a pure, wholesome girlfriend so he can project the image of a changed man. This is where Rose enters the picture. She's a bit of a loner, very committed to her studies and volunteer work, trying to make the world a better place for learning challenged children. She does not believe that she can handle her studies and being in a serious relationship at the same time, because her work suffered during a previous relationship. But their fake relationship contract gives her a lot of money in case his image can be rehabilitated. But the thing is, Connor is pretty unhappy being a CEO and secretly he wouldn't mind being booted off the CEO position, so he's not entirely cooperative. Rose is the first one to see through his insecurities and she attempts to convince him that his reasons for sticking to the business against his true desires are unsound. Mostly he believes that it's what his family expects of him. He has low self esteem and thinks they see him as a loser.
The author's writing style is very entertaining. The central conflict here is a bit frustrating because it's all in the couple's own minds. If one of them gets their head screwed on straight the other one immediately starts sabotaging their own happiness.
Series status: This book can be understood as a stand-alone but the meet-cute (no, scratch that, meet-embarrassing is closer), of Connor and Rose is described in book two of the series, and Connor's brothers and cousins are featured here.
Favorite scene: The tomato flowers. So random. But cute.
Steam level: Sex on the stairs. (Oh ok, I guess it's doable.).

I was hooked from the beginning! I literally could not put it down and I am devastated that it ended! All the feels! Seriously, my heart flipped over more than once. That first real kiss, oh my!
Rose is determined to stay focused and complete her PhD in special education. The problem is, she doesn't have enough money or time to work more jobs to reach her goals. She's desperate. So when she gets the call offering her a paycheck to be the fake girlfriend of the billionaire - Connor, she wants to say no.
Connor doesn't even want the job that his company is threatening to put him from but he also can't disappoint his family so he reluctantly agrees.
They didn't plan on the mutual attraction or that they were both so wrong about the other. They seem to be from two different worlds but are they really?
The characters are so realistic, I loved them from the beginning, well maybe not Connor but it didn't take me long to be rooting for him. Auth Jen is quirky and fun! Connor's family is great, his brothers, cousins and parents.
I felt like I was watching a professional sports game on TV and wanted to yell at them both at different times, just tell him/her! I loved the way they challenged each other and made for a better book than if it was all smooth sailing throughout.
This is a new to me author and I am ecstatic that I stumbled on this very talented author, and this book specifically!
Happy reading!.

I really enjoyed reading 'That Fake Feeling' by Nicky Redford. It was such a good romantic story with warm likable characters and good dialogue. It is about two people being thrown unexpectantly together by fate and not knowing that both really needed each other to flourish and grow into the best people they could be. Connor is the unhappy CEO and owner of a toy factory who unintentionally knocks a woman into a tomato patch at a party. Rose is the temporary waitress that Connor lands on in the tomato patch. She was helping a sick friend out by taking over the waitressing job for her. Rose is a full-time education student going for her master's while trying to hold down three jobs at the same time. When an intervention of Connor's unwholesome lifestyle is set up by his brothers because it is affecting his company's stock profits, they hire a PR man who proposes that they try to hire Rose to date Connor to improve his image. When the PR man had seen the picture of Connor sprawled over the horrified Rose at that party, he decided that was the sort of person that could help Connor. Rose was financially in trouble with regards to her ongoing education and he knew the money could help her out. Both are against the idea when approached with it but soon capitulate when they see the advantages it would bring. It is a cute romance with a lot of heart.

Connor and Rose fell in love while on individual journeys of self-discovery in the midst of a fake dating arrangement.
Nicky Redford had me laughing, smiling and cheering this couple on as they navigated their growing feelings for each other in some funny and sexy moments, often in public.
Rose was not impressed with the apparently drunk playboy that was Connor on their first meeting. However, I was still surprised at her initial response to the offer of lots of much-needed money in exchange for helping to rehabilitate his reputation.
Connor's initial response to the whole thing helped set certains things in motion that ended up creating moments of connection, of chemistry, and even a hilarious yet sexy battle between his shirt and a tree branch while he and Rose were in a rowboat in a lake.
Spicy times start about halfway through the book but when they do, you will forever remember a certain location in Connor's house (for all the right reasons).
This was my first book in The Dashwood Billionaires series but it certainly won't be my last.
CEO Connor Dashwood developed an educational toy and the resulting company has been a great success. But Connor has been destroying his reputation and it doesn’t mesh well with children’s toys. He needs to clean up his image.
Connor’s PR person somehow decides that good-girl Rose Bellamore might be the best one to step in and repair Connor's dreadful reputation by becoming his fake girlfriend. But she’s not that desperate yet. She is working multiple jobs to reach her goal of earning a master's degree and PhD. But she just can’t accumulate enough money to reach those goals. When her roommate gets engaged, her fiancé will be moving in and Rose has to leave. So she has no option left except moving in with Connor. To their surprise, they are good for each other and this just might work! But neither realizes how the other feels about them. Will they communicate and reveal that they are falling in love? Or will they say nothing and walk away when the fake relationship has run its course?
This is book 3 in Redford's Dashwood Billionaires series and can be read as a standalone. This is the first book in the series I've read and I LOVED it! I really want to go back and read the first two now and I'm definitely looking forward to more from Redford and this series. This book is low drama but filled with everything else I would want in a rom-com. A fake relationship romance with our main characters Connor and Rose. Conner is the founder of an educational toy company, and his reputation is less than desirable, so to help improve this image he hires Rose to be his fake girlfriend. Rose is studious and just wants to be a teacher to help others. Complete opposites but they complement each other wonderfully. I love that while neither want to engage in this farce of a relationship they soon see how well they are together. Well written, fun and captivating with a smooth, easy to follow storyline. I loved this read!

That Fake Feeling is book 3 in the Dashwood Billionaire series. It has quickly become my favorite rom com series this year, and this book does not disappoint. It's a steamy, opposites-attract, fake relationship, girl gets her billionaire romance. Connor is a hunky billionaire with a playboy image. The board of his company, Big Brain Toys, wants to vote him out. Rose is a sassy student teacher with a lot of debt. When Connor proposes a fake relationship, she does not agree initially, but then circumstances make her reconsider as she needs the money and a place to stay. Of course, real feelings become involved along with a lot of hilarious antics and hot 🔥 hot 🔥 chemistry. The side characters are hysterical, but Aunt Jen was my favorite with her ##s. I was crying from laughing so hard. 🤣🤣. Overall, this was an amazing read as expected, and I can't wait for Nicky's next book. I absolutely loved this couple!!!!.

This was a good one! The characters were very realistic and relatable, even though the main male character was a billionaire (aren’t they all nowadays? LOL!) Following the common plot of an enemies to lovers romance, the down on her luck “heroine” is hired for a fake relationship with the “hero”. He’s resistant and resentful to the ploy, and is difficult to get along with. This makes for humorous situations for the couple and that’s where the story strays from the norm. I laughed out loud at some of their antics! I really felt a range of emotions reading this and, like I mentioned above, I enjoyed it very much. Nicky Redford has become one of my go-to authors and I know I’ll enjoy the ride with any of her books.

Sublime I really enjoyed this book and in fact the entire series has been amazing. Whilst this could totally be read as a standalone I'd recommend reading all of the books as it would provide additional insight into the other characters and their motivations. I loved Conner and Rose as a couple and was rooting for them as they navigated past fake and towards forever. They both thought that they had to focus on their responsibilities all the while desiring one other and a simpler life. Consequently I found myself wanting to shake some sense into them at times but it was still fun watching them fall deeply in love. THAT CONFLICTED FEELING had everything you could want in a comedic romance. Fake Dating. Humor. Sarcasm. Lust…
Nicky Redford is slowly adding more spice to every one of her books and I am here for it. TFF has spice-filled scenes that made my cheeks redden and created a need to not put the book down. Connor and Rose both show equal amounts of character growth and I was proud of the couple they became outside of the arrangement.
Rose is definitely my new favorite FMC written by Nicky Redford. She is determined and caring. Her spunk and desire to obtain her Master’s (and then PHD) is quite admirable.
I am falling more and more for the writing technique that NR possesses.
I recommend this to anyone with the following as their favorite Tropes: Fake Dating Billionaire Romance Enemies To Lovers Reformed Playboy
“NOTHING FAKE COULD FEEL THIS REAL” That line is everything and more.
This book is going to the top of my “fake dating trope” list! Connor and Rose are such likable characters and that they really don’t want to go along with this makes it even better. But Rose, after being chosen by Connor’s PR team, is backed into a corner when her roommate puts her into a position where she needs to find a new place to live stat. So after she initially turned down the offer of “girlfriend” she changes her mind and accepts. But as they start living together, these two start to really connect and bring out the best in the other. And the chemistry between them….HOT!.

Book Review: That Fake Feeling Book 3 The Dashwood Billionaires series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved this book. It was hard to put this one down. Conner Dashwood is a Billionaire toy maker who makes some really bad decisions that end up always worse in the public eye. His company warns him if he doesn't clean up his act in 3 months he will be removed as CEO. His assistant Sterling has the bright idea of hiring a fake girlfriend to help his image. When Rose went in to meet Connor who knew that disgust would end up leading to them actually falling in love. Want to know what else happens? This book is on kindle unlimited 😍 And read the rest of @nickyredford series!

I’m a sucker for a fake dating trope. Loved the main characters so much. So far this is definitely my favorite in the series! They get better and better as they go. Also I think author writing style is getting better each book!
I absolutely loved this book. They were both such sweethearts and so relatable. As I was reading I couldn't help but think that her (the one with Jvke, Annika Wells and Kaden Hawke) described this book perfectly so yeah, just had to say that
Rose is a woman who wants to make a difference in the lives of children and is the perfect fake girlfriend! Connor is a man on a mission to destroy his image and is about to lose his CEO position at his company…until Rose is hired to rehab his image. As they each see that there is more beneath the skin of each other they begin to have real feelings. This was a cute romance and another great addition to the Dashwood Billionaires series.
